Iconoclasts
"Then verily the
first [covenant] had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly
sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein [was] the
candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. And
after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; Which
had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with
gold, wherein [was] the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded,
and the tables of the covenant. And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing
the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly" (Hebrews 9:1-5).
Magnificent
beyond words to express, the theme of your frame of reference, basic
Christianity controlling your life, if chosen-elected-called as a child of God.
"What's yours is not yours." Everything belongs to God.
Here,
towards the end of the New Testament, Paul's letter to the Hebrews, describing
in detail the Old Testament account involving the first sanctuary, the ark of
the covenant, a type of Christ. The world does not understand that only the
good soil where the sower sowed seed, understand (Matthew 13, Mark 4): soil, seed, sower, arc of the covenant
covered with pure gold (containing the law, budding rod, manna), the gold "mercy
seat."
God's frame
of reference was established from the very beginning. One tree, his rights, THE
THEME OF THE ENTIRE CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE. There is not one verse of scripture
in God's word which shows that we can compromise his word, negotiate with God.
God's entire frame of reference, he is sovereign, in charge, he honors his word
(Hebrews 1:3, Psalm 138:2). He
expects us to glorify him by honoring his word. "Whether therefore ye eat,
or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:13).
In the
circus of madness in which we are entwined by our living here on earth
(citizenship in Heaven) (Philippians
3:20), caught up in extreme paradox.
The
hardworking, tax paying, God fearing citizen must pay for crimes we did not
commit, taxed for destruction of foreigners in warfare and then taxed to
rebuild that which was destroyed. (Marshall Plan in Europe, rebuilding Japan, Korea,
Vietnam.
Now, rebuilding Iraq, Afghanistan.) The
tax payer (50% of Americans pay taxes, 2% most of the taxes) enslaved without
realizing it AND, it is hard to remember what freedom was like, or what slavery
was like several generations down the road. The children of Israel forgot
about slavery after God, chosen to do so by him without any effort on their
part, were in the wilderness for a few months. Hardships which come to all in
freedom were forgotten as they remembered the melons and cucumbers available in
slavery. In our slavery to sin, the heathen were so much fun, we liked their
jokes-parties. Christians are so stoic-solid-sincere.
The tax
payer pays taxes to subsidize farmers, land hogs, Monsanto-Pfizer, big Pharma.
For years, paying farmers for tobacco, GMO poisons, and then, audacity to tax
same citizens for victim health care. And so it goes, addictions (drugs, food,
alcohol, gambling-lottery, welfare checks to victims). Dumbed down citizens
from controlled media, education systems, do not realize the limits of their
frame of reference. Western civilization thrives on property rights-surveys,
ownership. Those in the goulogs-housing projects-section 8, those who depend on
"soup kitchens," welfare checks, Medicaid and other health programs
truly know the lack of esteem or liberty from living off the sweat of others. Only
a parent, knowing the trials-expense of raising children, know about a
thankless child. Tax payers, living frugally, getting up and going to work
everyday whether you feel like it or not, knowing that they and their children
are in debt beyond anyone's ability to pay. This nations debts can never be
repaid. Soon, like Greece,
taxed to the limit, selling off assets. (The Greek government attempting to
sell Islands in the Aegean Sea.)
Tax payers,
particularly under Obama care, forced to go to medical facilities where last
year, 187,000 patients died from poor care. Why not subsidize-encourage
patients and others to eat correctly? Use supplements? The body must have 90
nutrients to survive. Big Pharma, big medicine, does not want you to learn to
care for your own body. (You know more about your own body than anyone else.)
Rather, they'd have you hide behind a tree (Adam and Eve hiding from God in the
garden), use the most expensive rooms in the world (fancy doctors offices-expensive
hospitals), offices and hospitals where germs are rampant-vicious. There are
still a few of us who will attack the iconoclasts of cherished-pick-pocket
institutions-your expensive impotent sick care system, your strangulation by
government-by enslavement with taxation.
My
evangelical friends reject bowing down to icons, particularly those in the
Catholic world. They find nothing wrong in bowing down to icons in
politics-medicine-business-banking. God is jealous of idols (Deuteronomy 32:21, 1 Cor 10:22), even
your idols on television. Most of my evangelical friends do not wear a cross,
hard to find a cross in their church house. The cross on which my redeemer died
should be seen everywhere in the church. I like the crucifix, all Christians
should associate with his atonement.
In the
front of the Duke
Memorial Methodist
Church, Durham N.C, stain
glass window of James Duke of the Duke family fortune. In the vestibule of the
"infamous" Jeremiah Wright Trinity United church, Chicago, where Obama said he attended church
for 20 years, a portrait of freedom writer, Harriet Tubman.
There are
no fortresses, walled cities that you must scan, conquer in Heaven. It will be
so good not to be exploited by my fellow man, to know again and again, the
faithfulness-mercies of our triumphant redeemer. It will be so good not to be pursued-condemned
by demonic love. (Love me for what you can get out of me.) There are still many
people in the world who believe that the earth is flat. The same people will
vote for anything, support anything, proved in the last Presidential election.
