All Things Considered

The greatest yearning of the human experience is to be happy. The first time I was in communist Russia, other than the dreariness of the country, the thing that impressed me most was the unhappiness of the people. The people, like the buildings, the streets, and even the nature that surrounded them, was dull, dingy, dreary.

Sharing the trip with me was a news commentator from Radio WRO in New York City. He said, “I never see a smile.” We also noticed that so many of the people on the trollies, on the streets, were drunk. I remember saying to him, “if I had to live in this dreadful place, alcohol would probably be my escape.”

In my lifetime, I have seen the American spirit of optimism and opportunity, turn into a morass of drug addiction. News accounts are full of such, even involving police officers.

Because I lost my eyesight in a war and have been totally blind for over 50 years, I must depend on other people to help me with many things. No one would believe how many young men and women have been employed by me, carrying along with their many other problems, the baggage of addiction. I had hired a 32 year-old young man, a father of two daughters, married to a public school teacher, to do some repair work on a rental house which I own. This very day, he told me that he had spent this weekend in the hospital as a drunk, is now beginning 45 days of rehabilitation, all at your, the taxpayer's, expense. You can consider me foolish, but I had given him money to buy material, which he evidently spent the money on alcohol. This is just one example of such problems which I have encountered year after year. The jails and hospitals are full, tax-supported facilities are filled with such human debris. As long as we have permissive parents, a permissive society, quackery in schools, masquerading churches, a politically correct society where it is improper to criticize, where the taxpayers will subsidize character flaws, things will not improve things.

Character determines destiny. The building of character starts in the home shortly after cutting the umbilical cord. Children are lovely and are to be loved, but the greatest and most important love is tough love. Yielding to a child's whims by attempting to assure a child's happiness with things just leads to the child thinking that satisfaction and happiness comes through things, when things stop satisfying, one tries to find happiness in the bottom of a liquor bottle, snorting exotic chemicals. It even becomes fashionable to dig into designer drugs, to have a police record. The time is long past when parents are shamed by a police blotter, a grandchild born to an unwed mother. I had rather to have died than to have shamed my parents by having them bail me out of a jail. God-fearing, hard-working, frugal living parents who had denied themselves in order to give their children opportunities which they had never had.

The enabler of every addiction is the hideous process of throwing money at it. We throw money at education, enabling poor performance; throw money at welfare recipients, throw money at useless business enterprises—and something which cannot be hid from the world—we throw money at our national enemies, hoping they will love us. As long as decent, hard-working, taxpaying, God-fearing Americans tolerate the throwing of money and thereby enabling addictive behavior, we will just have more of it.

Please answer this question: why would any young man or woman work or show responsible living, when, because of addictive behavior (alcohol or other drug absorption) they can lay around watching useless slop on television, live off the tax dollar, supported by ambitious people who work for a living, pay their taxes, and appreciate the opportunities provided them by this democratic republic?

Classic, time-tested behavior: studying, reading good books, taking advantage of spiritual and physical opportunities, exercise, decent sexual control, eating correctly. Few people who love their prized pets would feed them junk food, likewise parents who love their children will control their appetites, whether food or that which enters the body through the eyes or ears.

I am very familiar with one young man, a father of four small children. He was working several jobs in order to support the family, before leaving for work, he told his 9 year-old son to pull all the weeds from the shrubbery and the flowerbeds. Coming home, tired, weary from work and worries, he noticed the weeds were still in the shrubbery. Going inside the house, the son had his eyes glazed and fixed to the television set. He went over and kicked the front out of the television set, he said, “now we will see how much television you watch, because there will never be another one in my house!”

It is time for parents to put muscle behind their parenting, set examples for their children. Probably this young man working for me, who will spend 45 days in rehabilitation always observed beer in his family's refrigerator, saw his parents drinking cocktails. All things considered, most communities are fortunate that things are no worse than they are.

Thank God, we are not stuck where we start. Old age is not for sissies. I don't have many enemies because I have outlived them all. I'm not afraid of anything anymore because “I have been there and done that”. When people call me eccentric or silly, or when people steal from me, I just think of the greatest promise in the Old Testament, Jeremiah 9:12. I realize that there are 8,887 promises in the bible and that each one has been fulfilled. I realize that 27 times in the psalms we find these words, “the mercies of the Lord endure forever”. Jesus endured it all and remained righteous, from his birth until his cruel death on the cross. The youngest disciple, John, along with his mother were at the foot of the cross when he died. Lucky is the man, even God, who can have your best friend and your mother with you at the end. I stopped long ago, trying to explain God to unbelievers. Without God, you cannot understand God. To the chosen, to those who know God, no explanation is necessary. To those who do not know God, no explanation is possible.

The best explanation I can give of this involves the one man who wrote 13 of the books in the New Testament, Saul, who became the apostle Paul. He, like David, of the Old Testament, was a murderer but God had a very special mission for both. In the dirt of the road as Saul traveled to Damascus, God talked to him, man to man. I have walked down the street called straight in Damascus. Even Ananias was afraid to encounter Saul as he sat blinded but at God's command, he went to him and the blindness left...as does spiritual blindness leave everyone who has an encounter with God...and Paul, perhaps the most educated man of his age in the world, became the stalwart disciple of Christ. From Romans to Philemon, and certainly the letter to the Hebrews, the church finds everything it needs to know about God's mission for the church. Once, in Jerusalem, the great American comedienne Totie Fields said to me, “Dr. Morris, what is wrong with these Arabs and Jews that they must be in conflict all the time?” Frank Sinatra was in the same hotel at that time (both now dead, she was already in a wheel chair at that time).

In a few years, India will be the world's greatest power. I saw the conflicts between India and Pakistan while I was in Kashmir...this too involving religions. Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, perhaps the worlds two most outspoken Atheists, blamed the world's problems on religion. Dawkins attacked from a biological standpoint and Hitchens from a historical standpoint. On the first of my three trips to Communist China since it's reopening, my Chinese guide asked me about American religion. Of course, in China, Mao who killed 70,000,000 Chinese in order to wipe out all traces of foreign influence and religion, even beat up “all tombstones” in cemeteries to build roads, destroyed all monuments and churches. Still, there are more Christians in Communist China than the population of the United States...over 300,000,000 though there as in North Korea and other Godless, collectivist, totalitarian, state controlled countries religion is defiled.

My Chinese guide told me that he was taken form his village commune early in life because the officials appraised him as being bright, easily controlled and he was given every advantage so far as education and had learned several languages. He said, “I have some memory of my mother and a sister whom I loved very much”. He was about 30 years of age and had had no family contact in over 25 years. He said, “my life consists of listening to Western classical music which I have smuggled in and reading all the books I can obtain. Of course, in the forced abortion, Communist regime, there are very few girls, no one for a young man to marry and if he is not gay has little contact with anyone.

China, so anxious to build up a large Army and civilian workforce disposed of all female babies and now has the tremendous problem of a large frustrated male population. Most, like my Chinese guide, just puppet slaves of the state. Mao, Stalin, Lenin, all agreed “no amount of political freedom will satisfy the masses”. The beautifully decorated subway stations of Russia, with their gleaming chandeliers, their marching uniformed factory workers, their great military exploits, even their “free” health care system did not bring joy to the masses. Only after the Russian system was exposed and expelled did Russia develop (now a real economic force). Churches and spirituality regained their prominence.

Western civilization would never have prospered if not for the Christian church. Whittaker Chambers, American writer, Communist, Soviet spy, left Communism and became a believer after studying his child's ear. It has been a mystery of my life that anyone can be an unbeliever who has studied God's chief creation, the human body. Chambers knew that it was a magnificent sovereign design system, only possible through a divine omnipotent, omniscient creator who could design such a phenomenal feature. Even more so would have been his study of the human eye (the chemistry of tears of joy are different from the tears of grief from the same lacrimal gland of the human eye). The clotting of blood in which every chemical component must react in just an exact manner, the DNA of every cell of the trillions of cells in the human body (every cell possessing enough information of the 23,000 genome characteristics that would fill thousands of pages). I thought when Watson and Crick announced the discovery of DNA in 1953 that the myth of evolution would be wiped clean from the school books of America but, academics, because of sin, are so anxious for young people to love the creature instead of the creator. The incredibly fallacious myth of Darwin's discredited philosophy is still being taught. It is only in a Godless, Communist, tyranny that, because of the advantages to the state and, the political correctness which is part of Satan's agenda, that this idiocy is still being introduced to young minds who do not have the courage of faith.

There are many absolutes in the world, the absolute of right and wrong, the absolutes of the laws of motion, the absolutes of the periodic table, the absolutes of the notes on a sheet of music. I want my pilot to be absolute about his knowledge of flying a plane, my surgeon to be absolute of his knowledge about where to cut on my body, my politician to be absolute in the integrity of government. I want my pastor to be absolute in his belief in sins ruin and Christ's redemption. I am an absolutest, a conservative, a defender of the right, an enemy of the wrong. It takes courage to have faith in the grace of God but that connects all the dots and gives you the encouragement to keep living.

Groundhog Day

Yesterday, February 2^nd, was Groundhog Day. Very scientifically, the groundhog comes to see if he can see his shadow then the groundhog announces how much more bad weather we're going to have. Like most traditions, this quaint tradition came over from Europe. The prediction is true about 80% of the time but all man made predictions are true about 80% of the time. There are 8,887 promises in the Bible, many prophecies in the Bible; to this minute, all promises, all prophecies, have been fulfilled.

I was waxing eloquently in one church, describing the majesty of God's work when he sent down fire from heaven to demonstrate in front of King Ahab's 450 Prophets of Baal, on Mt. Carmel, after they had prayed all day trying to offer a sacrifice to Baal. Elijah poured barrels of water on the sacrifice which filled up the trench with water, fire came down and not only consumed the sacrifice, but all the water and all the rocks of the altar. An elderly lady on the front row said, “Dr. Morris, where did Elijah get the water? It had not rained for three years, it was a terrible time of drought.” I said, “dear lady, I do not know where the water came from, the barrels, or even the bullets, perhaps the sea. God is silent about many things in His Word.” 95% of faith is courage, courage enough to believe. One other time, a young girl, school age, asked me a similar question, “will my cat go to heaven?” I said, “Your cat does not have a soul but if having a cat in heaven will make you happy, you can be sure you will have a cat in heaven.”

WWII ended 64 years ago. When you ask who was the greatest General of an Army, you always ask the enemy. The enemies of America, those we fought in Europe during WWII, are all unanimous: General Patton. General Patton was a greater General than the Commanding General and later President, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Patton, according to all the books and other things written about him, was very disappointed that America and her allies, gave to Russia, on a silver platter, the Balkans and even half of Germany. With this handover of so much land, property and power, thousands of Europeans would die in the Stalin death camps. Patton would have pushed Russia back to her border because he knew that eventually Russia would turn out to be our greatest enemy...just think of the money spent on the Cold War, the Korean War, Vietnam...all because Britain and America handed over, to Russia, most of the spoils of WWII.

Like the assassination of JFK, by those who knew that JFK had looked behind the curtain, had seen the garbage accumulated there, was attempting to correct some of the problems such as the attempted Cuban/Missile threat. Patton had decided to return to America, resign his Army credentials and then reveal to Americans the rotten situation involving Americans such as the Rockefellers, the Bushes, the British and the German chemical giant IG Farben (winner of 17 Nobel prizes for chemistry who, by using slave Jewish labor, kept the Hitler war machine going for 5 years with synthetics) who held all the formulas for synthetic energy which could change every prediction, every conflict, every financial calamity taking place in the Middle East, and elsewhere, during the past 60 years.

So, like Kennedy, Patton was assassinated. It is not fully known whether by Stalin or by his own country. We know he survived the automobile collision as no one was injured in his Cadillac except for him. The sniper was supposed to have killed him but, he survived and even showed improvement in the Heidelberg Hospital. However, an assassin got to him with poison. Books have been written on this but this is one prediction, made by General Patton, to his staff, that has come true in every respect...the Geo-physical military industrial complex which has lead greedy international investors to keep our country involved in a war and Patton knew that he would probably be assassinated. If only Mrs. Patton had agreed to an autopsy so the world would know about the assassination...the predictions of his death...the involvement of the entire world in the results of the Russian enslavement of Eastern Europe.

Now, we are seeing the enslavement of our nation in a cocoon of Communist ideology:

We have lost our industrial base. 70% of all the World's construction cranes are now in China. China controls the automobile market, more cars built in China than anywhere else, China does not have clunkers...just new cars.

Unemployment is now at 18%, the unemployment rate of the great depression. By the end of this year it will be 25%. There will be no increase in employment except in government jobs and, since the private sector must be taxed to pay for these government jobs and since the banks have taken over the financial climate of the nation I predict a bleak future for the economy. If all the houses taken over by the banks were put on the market...multiple listing...the country would panic. In Arizona, 1% of all houses go on the market each month.

I predict a total demise of the public education system...a system more interested in indoctrination and entertainment than education. Liberal Democrats should rejoice in the obvious fact that the American people have been brainwashed, enabled by a state controlled news and print media. In many states, such as Arizona, schools are being closed, programs shut down.

There are not enough people working, flat on their faces in taxation, to support all those who do not work, those with government health care. I predict a total failure of the social security system, Medicare, Medicaid, and the grant programs to academia.

The GNP in China is increasing 10% a year. Americans are buying foreign stocks, trading in foreign currency. It has already been announced that money funds will be frozen. I predict the Federal government will clean out all safety deposit boxes and take possession of all corporate,state and local government retirement funds.

I predict you will still have a faith to cling to, a faith to depend on if you know Jesus Christ and God knows you. The most beautiful story in all literature is found in the 15^th chapter of Luke's Gospel. In 150 verses, a young man leaves home, throws away his inheritance, but his father, always loving and watching for him, sees him returning with a broken and contrived spirit. His father welcomes him home. I predict many of the escapees of this country's goodness will eventually repent and return home. “Home is where the heart is”, and those who have broken the heart of God, who has so blessed America, will eventually realize their loss.

Bread Lines

There were many things about Communism/Marxism, which I will never forget. I will never forget the prisoners, in chains, lined up next to the Trans-Siberian railroad on the way to a lifetime of prison slavery in Siberia. Just as remarkable: the lines of human beings around many Russian stores. My guide said, “When you see a line of people like that, you know that the store has gotten in some bread, maybe some shoes, even some onions.” He said, “In Russia you can go for months without seeing an onion.”

I know that when I was there—and later when I crossed Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railroad—if it had not been for black bread and potato soup, I would have starved to death. You see, the liberal Marxists, the academics, the atheist-religionists, and those who just don't care about anything, such as the many in our country living off welfare, have never seen people lined up waiting for food. In this country of filled store shelves, we have a promiscuous, spoiled society who thinks Communism is good because they have never experienced want...have never seen the trauma of Marxism.

In my lifetime, we now have developed methods to totally destroy mankind (nuclear, chemical, biological). The poet Robert Frost, said that the world would be destroyed by ice. Frost, not a Christian, would have known that the world was once destroyed by water, and that it will next be destroyed by fire. The movie 2012, released in 2009, relates cataclysmic events which will happen in the near future. (Perhaps, they have already begun with the earthquake in Haiti, a second earthquake 36 miles form Port-Au-Prince, yesterday, the long-expected earthquake around Yellowstone Park, and even some quaking on the California coast!) This movie predicts a mega-tsunami from the Pacific.

The long time radio preacher, Harold Campen, radio speaker for 58 years, predicts an end to the world on March 21^st, 2011. Of course, he has made this prediction several times, the last time in 1994. The truth is, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven (Matthew 24:36). We should be concerned about our problems until then, and our readiness when that time comes. For instance, the most blessed country in the world, now we have a Marxist president, who in a matter of one year's time, today, (he was inaugurated exactly one year ago), has totally destroyed the economy of this nation (financial, corporate, foreign policy). This president has incurred more debt than the previous 43 presidents combined, George Washington to George W. Bush. It takes the entire GNP just to pay the interest on the national debt. The last honorable, private, secure system left is that of health care. Today, only 30% of health care practitioners participate in Medicare. Small pharmacies have been taken over by huge, mega-pharmacy houses. Small insurance companies have been taken over by large, mega-insurance companies. The public is in a state of confusion about FDA approvals, which usually result in FDA recalls. Only 1% of the recalls are actually taken back to the store.

In this unraveling of the constitution one would think that the inmates are running the asylum. Our most important treasure, our children, those who survive the abortion holocaust, must face pedophiles in the pulpit and the classroom. This year, in an adjoining county, four public school teachers have been arrested for sexual molestation. Educators speak of our pedophile teachers as “trash”, but are willing to pass them on to other counties (with letters of recommendation in hand). Even more pitiful, at a time in a child's life when good health and eating habits should be instilled, education officials—so anxious to bring in a few more shekels—allow soft drink machines to be placed in the schools. There is nothing any worse for anyone's health, youth or adult, than soft drinks (chemicals with sweetened water). Obesity among children is an epidemic. The only children in school without weight problems are on athletic teams! Exercise at the school is as important as the “three R's” and it seems obvious that education today is a matter of entertainment.

In the investment and financial trauma, government must find ways, through SCC or otherwise, to oversee financial market and wealth management bankers. Madoff is in prison but many others should have cells near his (Paulson, Geithner, Rangel, etc.) Everyone (except the SCC and their cohorts) seems to have known about the $85 billion Madoff Ponzi scheme...referred to in New York as “the North Pole”, so much “white powder” was being used in the office. It is the small investor, saving a few dollars from the family farm, family business, a lifetime of hard work, who is caught in the line of financial instability. The uncertainty of the stock market does not bother the average broker, he makes money whether the market goes up or down.

When 1 out of 6 workers out of a job, when 1 out of 4 homes are in foreclosure, when private retirement programs, as well as large retirement funds, such as of state workers, are seen as big piles of cash by the federal government, all should see themselves in a bread or employment line. I heard Reverend Jesse Jackson speak years ago about extracting funds from retirement portfolios into the Federal treasury. He said, “we would be just borrowing the money leaving an IOU”. All of you should realize that all you have from your years of FICA deductions is an IOU. When social security becomes totally bankrupt, as it already is, and the checks will no longer come, from the IOUs which the government put there (instead of the money they extracted from your paycheck) you will have a vision, not an illusion, of bread lines. Detroit, once the 5^th largest city in America, is a victim of the Bush-Obama annihilation, American citizens are already lined up outside stores.

Satan has confiscated all reasoning, a pollution of all absolutes. There is no longer an absolute right or wrong...just shades of gray. A news commentator said recently, “there is no longer any absolute accuracy about science, money or biblical history”. Facts and figures, which at one time were a matter of absolutes are now just relative to the situation. All learning has been corrupted, all knowledge suspect, men ever studying, but never coming to a knowledge of the truth.
