Who cares about the disabled? Who cares about abuse, abuse of children, abuse of the handicapped and the disabled. There was a time when government exercised oversight, over those with a license to give service of any type. Now, any complaint, hire yourself a lawyer.

80% of all abuse is denied. Most lawyers are fearful of involvement, so afraid of being accused of frivolity. Lawyers want something simple, requiring little work, little risk. This old veteran has gone for days this month without his blood-pressure medicine. Has gone for days this month without a nurse appearing (paid for by VA) to even change his bed. Who cares? Certainly not the VA. The VA would like for every veteran to commit suicide. Many of the younger ones are doing so. It is so much cheaper to bury a veteran than to care for one. The thousands of employees who work for the most inept agency in the government, just go through the motions. At any veterans hospital, they may have a fixed smile, but they are not happy. Certainly not happy to give you care. This blind veteran, was sitting next to a war torn, WWII aged officer, his body stilled wrecked by the wages of war. Sitting with our numbers, waiting for our numbers to be called, I said to the technician drawing blood, "That old colonel in front of me was a real hero." Her reply, "why don't you old men just go ahead and die" (VA hospital Durham NC).
