One of the most interesting courses of study in the world is Political Geography. I will never forget my Political Geography professor … the “whys” of this world. Why does a city grow in a certain place? Why are some countries more “warfare” significant than others? Why are some nations so much richer than others? It is all a matter of geography and political integrity.

Rivers for transportation … cities growing at strategic points on those rivers. Harbors and bays on land masses leading to international commerce and traffic (Hong Kong, World's Largest Port, Shanghai, 2nd largest port, NYC Harbor, San Francisco Harbor etc.). Mineral wealth, oil and coal deposits, fertility of land. For instance, there is no place in Russia that has 20 inches of rainfall a year. This is not considered even good pasture land in America. The continent of Africa has great mineral wealth but because of the antagonism, constant warfare of tribes, it has never been developed. Only in South Africa, where diamonds and gold have been mined, where all resources have been made available to the world, has prosperity flourished. There are more automobiles in South Africa than all the other African nations combined.

The prosperity of any country depends on the prosperity and welfare of it's citizens. Western Civilization was pushed by religious convictions and a culture of responsibility and work ethic. Only when the evils of Socialism take over, citizens learn that they can sit around and do nothing at the expense of their neighbors, does the nation begin it's fall … recently, Iceland, Greece, England etc. An industrious population will always succeed. In my trips to Israel, the Holy Land, I was amazed at the industriousness of the people. They turned this baron land into a productive cyclone while, all around them, their lazy cousins, the Arabs, just sit around, mostly in Cafes, drinking tea (mostly men) all day long, their wives working, caring for children.

Long ago, when first in these Arab countries, I noticed men were always riding on donkeys, the women and children walking behind. My guide said, “I think the women want the man well rested. This accounts for all the children.”

Economics, in itself, tells one much about the prosperity of a country. It tells you much about the difference in the prosperity of individuals. Individuals who work hard, save their money, invest wisely, are always the goose that lays the golden egg of prosperity of a nation. Excessive taxation of the achievers, excessive bureaucracy, hand outs to the non-achievers all plays a part in the how and why of national decline. If a man is smart enough to make money, he is usually smart enough to keep it. With the pending Socialism, then Communism of America the “haves” are trying to keep what they have from the “have-nots”. When you have a Democrat political party totally in power, any wisdom shows that an attempt to equalize and spread the wealth under the Marxist system leads to conflict. With super-inflation brought on by un-payable debt, worthless currency, corruption in traditional investing (Goldman Sachs and other banking and financial lending practices), most are looking for other involvement.

The collectibles market is showing a real spurt in activity. For years, my business of collectable marketing has been at a standstill. Recently, there has been new interest in buying antiquarian books, even paintings and prints, collectables of every type. Almost every advertisement on television or radio pertains to the buying of gold or other precious metals. I am told that jewelry is being bought as an investment. Most collectables, at least for now, are hidden from the tax appraiser. Ad valorem taxed land and buildings were once a good investment. Now, all the wild spending politicians not getting revenues from sales taxes are out to raise taxes on your property, that which can be easily appraised. I have tax receipts from family land 200 years ago. It is amazing how little taxes were on large parcels of land. If you want to destroy development, construction, kill jobs and business opportunities, just keep raising taxes.

50% of the population does not pay any income tax, does not own any real property. So, not only do the achievers pay a large slice of their income in income taxes but must support the schools, hospitals and public works with their property tax. In the early years of America, only property owners were allowed to vote. The founders, as did Alex de Tocqueville in writing about America, knew that the time would come when those riding in the wagon would have to be pushed and dragged by their fellow citizens … that government workers through finagling, one way or another would have their nose in the trough and that government civil workers, along with those just content to subsist on welfare would take up the largess provided by the doers … the walkers not the talkers. As with everything in life, religious, political, social, it is easier to talk than to walk.

We are looking towards scary times, twice as many bank closings this year as last. With the government taking over a large slice of the small amount left, not already under government control, socialized healthcare will put us into the dungeon of economic advance. Have no delusion, the recession, in spite of what Obama has said, is not over … not even close. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Pray that we can retreat from military involvement in these destitute areas of the world where nothing will be accomplished except further spending of our talent, time and treasury. Pray that Americans will come to their senses and relieve political tyrants from their destruction.

Mexico has been in full collapse for five years, many from Mexico have simply walked across the border. The Democrats know what they are doing, they stopped the building of the fence in order to ensure that large voting block. The New World Order wants to destroy this country. Bush 41 was the first to introduce the idea, his father before him, Senator Prescott Bush, was a Nazi sympathizer. As a real Republican, as a real conservative, a real Christian, not a fake Republican, fake Conservative, fake Christian like Bush 41 or 43 we repudiate what this one family has done to this country. But, just think what is happening now.

With Goldman Sachs, we saw unbridled greed. With the past three Presidents, past three Congresses, we are seeing American chaos. Dishonestly on the athletic field is easily recognized, even a crooked umpire. With your vote, force the dishonest politicians, the dishonest bankers, back into their closet of depraity.

This week, a house in Philadelphia was investigated and 500 dead animals were found in the house. Supposedly, the result of the voodoo, Santeria, religious sacrifices. Perhaps some of these are some of Mrs. Robinson's friends (Michelle Obama's mother). A devotee of this religion who had Santeria witches cleanse the White House before the Obama occupancy. In 1983, just in the beginning of the Hutu/Tutsi warfare in Rwanda, I was visiting one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lake Edie Amen, named for the African dictator who put so many innocent people to death. After leaving Africa, he was sheltered by the Saudi Arabia royal family until his death. On my visit to this lake, where beautiful storks stand in the water, where native fishermen were preparing their nets for fishing, where a tamed, old elephant roamed around, I noticed one large hut (at that time I had a shadow of vision in left eye) where witches were dancing around with “noisemakers”. There was an awful smell coming from the conclave. I asked my guide, “What's going on over there?” He said, “That is the local witch doctor, you should like him (of course he was joking). He conjures cancer, fevers, snake bites, anything that the people come to him for in an emergency or desperately ill situations.” There were many patients sitting around on the ground, the doctor's reception room, waiting their turn. My guide told me that the witch doctor would conjure a cancer right out of a person. The smell was coming from animal sacrifices near his hut.

As we approach the second decade of the 21st century, get ready for the CONJURING OF SHACKLES and almost total enslavement by your governments (local, state, federal). Iceland, Greece, Dubai, and soon several other nations, are already in a state of bankruptcy.

Out in the ocean, a drowning man will grab at straws, anything to keep him afloat. Those of you who voted the democrat ticket, who have put Obama and his cohorts into power, now realize this president knows absolutely nothing about finance or business. As unemployment totters towards 20% (Great Depression unemployment 18%), as the world financial situation worsens, as we see further warfare in Pakistan and Yemen involving Saudi Arabia (25% of the world's oil supply), when the first bomb hits Iran, you will know that WWIII has started. This, at a time, when 96% of all housing sales involve government mortgages. But, this has not stopped bonuses being paid to the federal housing people, the darlings of gay representatives Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. We wonder just how far this insanity will go before the state controlled news media, and other sleeping Americans, will awaken. We just learned how unsafe we are when nearly 300 people were almost fried in a plane by one young Nigerian terrorist. How many warning flags must fly before the best trained CIA agents can learn to protect themselves?

At the exit of the Suez Canal, in the Indian Ocean near Somalia, super power governments are allowing rag tag, Muslim pirates to take over their ships. Every small victory of the terrorists just encourages others to take aim at the super power, paper tiger, infidel enemy.

The Japanese economy has been in recession for 20 years but they kept producing...Americans drive more Japanese cars than any other. For a decade now we have seen a depression developing and we have done nothing except dig a deeper hole for ourselves. Mr. Obama actually believes that a man can take out a large insurance policy on his wife, kill her and then collect the insurance...in other words, you pay your debts while borrowing more money.

It does not take many Islamic extremists to pulverize us, to send our economy into a second dip depression. Most Americans are in worse shape this year than they were this time one year ago, this time two years ago, or this time ten years ago. Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States said, “Often, the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots and martyrs.” In my lifetime, disloyal academics, puny politicians, cloudy Christians, have conjured up policies and people of compromise. Are we ready to defend this democratic republic?

Perils of Prosperity

A local advertisement from a veterinary hospital states that pets should have purified water, water that has been circulated through a purifier so there are no chemicals or anything debilitating to the furry creatures. According to Wikipedia in 2006 Americans spent $39 billion on pet food. I know dog and cat owners, right here in this town, who spend more money on pet care than I spend on my own personal care. When I see these figures, I think of the children I have seen in third world countries whose mother goes to a “mud hole” or river bank each day for a jug of water which is used for drinking, cooking...everything. In third world countries, children's bellies are distended because of hunger.

In America, 50% of children survive on food stamps. In fact, right here in this town, most children drink polluted water and have the sparsest of diets. The great seedsmen, Luther Burbank said, “If plants were treated like children in America, the country would be grown up with weeds and trees”. There was a time when a man's family came first, housing, food, clothing. The Marxist knew exactly what they were doing when Americans became totally addicted to the television. Uncle Miltie with a dress on, Ed Sullivan, Bishop Fulton Sheen, I Love Lucy. Decent shows, screens to which several generations have become addicted to the extent that children think this is the way they should spend their time. With the onset of indecency, and the control of news, Americans have lost all concept of reality.

We have seen the evolution of wall to wall coverage of athletic events. We think it perfectly normal to pay $200 to $5,000 for a seat to athletic events plus $12 for a soft drink. Whooping and howling as millionaires run up and down the courts or the field. These same millionaire athletes, living a lifestyle of decadence outside the arena, one does not bat an eye when the girlfriend kills one, a man with a family at his home.

How did our ancestors survive before so many inoculations? Just a few weeks after birth, the inoculations start. There is no way a vaccination can be effective until a child is two years of age anymore than a vaccination is effective on an old person. Our grandmothers knew how to treat most minor health problems...sniffles, headaches, etc. Doctor's offices, which at one time were small at best, now have waiting rooms like large auditoriums. I go to one doctor who is in practice with 62 other doctors. The place is run like a well-greased machine. I would rather have the money that goes into that practice each day than a license to steal. Most of the patients are old people, on Medicare or Medicaid. What better way for an old person to spend a day, when the care is free? Just wait until the new socialized health care programs get in full gear. Instead of a Muslim army medical officer shooting his fellow soldiers, there will be many shootings in health facilities and hospitals.

In my lifetime, it was just a matter of life insurance, then there was burial insurance. Particularly the black people always had that 25 cents a week in the envelop on the front porch for the collector of burial insurance. The first citizens to know about hospital insurance were the organized workers, unions, teachers, government workers. Then came automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, pet, even jewelry insurance. Now you insure everything. You tell God that He can just go on vacation, you don't need him for His input in “protective care”.

There has been a total take-over of life activity through government controls. I know of very few things you can do at all anymore without a permit or license. You need a license for any type work. A permit to do anything around your house. An inspector, looking at one of my buildings where a past owner had run a short electric outlet said, “You must pay for a permit and get my permission to do anything in your building more than using a 6' extension cord”. It's all a matter of money, more money in the coffers for the bureaucrats to waste. California has just increased its withholding tax 10%. Elected officials actually consider the money in the tax budget as their own spending money.

In most of these government programs, once the camel gets his nose under the tent, once the news media is willing to push the greed, your life is under their control.

Houses, cars, clothing, will all last a long time. It is this constant bombardment by advertisers that keeps people dissatisfied with what they have, always willing to spend for something new and with the taxation and controls of government, prosperity becomes a peril. If you did not buy, the tax would not be collected. These are the rules to live and die by:

1. Don't buy.

2. Refuse to comply.

3. Ask why.

4. Occupy, until Jesus comes (Luke 19:13).

Do your shopping at the farmer's market and as much buying as possible at yard sales and swap shops. You can buy anything you want online, it is only by cutting off the flow of money through taxes to undisciplined politicians that they may awaken. It is time for corrupt politicians, Obama-nation, to learn that most of us will not be their enablers anymore.

In Old Testament law, there was over 200 sacrifices, religious people trying to cleanse their souls from unbelief. There is only one sacrifice for sin and it has already been made. When the unsaved, political leaders or otherwise, understand sins ruin and Christ's redemption, they will also understand the perils involved in the prosperity of the wicked.
