Cowards die a thousand deaths, the courageous die only once.

We worship at the alter of other people's approval. I can tell just by listening to a talk show on the radio, if a man who calls is married. Attending any meeting: church, civic club, board of any type, it is obvious which men are married, which men have a backbone, which men get their wives' approval about everything they say or do. It makes me sick to go into a men's clothing store and see a man's wife picking out his clothes for him. I do not wear anything that is not bought at a thrift store, secondhand. When I was younger, and had less intelligence, I would often buy a suit in a men's store, where normal people shop. One day, the husband could not get the wife's approval on a suit, she finally said, “go ahead and buy what you want, you are the one who will wear it any way.” He said, “at least the coat and vest.” It had been decided long ago who wore the pants at his house.

I will never recover from today's college graduates, one young man who worked for me for about one year following his graduation, was very energetic and a conversationalist with me. But, he would often bring his wife with him to my house on the beach, then he was an entirely different personality...totally hen-pecked. If he opened his mouth, she would say something nasty. She was the one with the brains, she was the one with the wealthy family, she was an only child. Like the JAP (Jewish American Princess), the daughter of wealthy Jews, you can always tell such women...dominating every conversation, knowing everything about everything, superior upmanship in every category. Many of these women find themselves in politics, Senator Feinstein, Senator Boxer, Kagan, Clinton, Snow...all rich, all Jews. There are many others in the Congress and the judicial system.

The Christian church is floundering, shipwrecked on the rocks of not only a prosperity gospel, but the political correctness of turning the male-established church structure over to the women. At least, most baptist churches have not yet ordained women preachers, nor have the Catholic. Those who have (Methodists, Episcopal, Lutheran, Pentecostal, Quaker, etc.) are dying even faster than the others. One woman preacher even told me that Moses is one of the disciples. Another said that Christ was crucified on the Road to Damascus. Much like the one who said that Golgotha was the apostle who killed the disciple David. Bold denominations, bold churches, boldness in Christianity keeps God's people close to his word. Women have a part in the church, but not in teaching and preaching to adults.

Many years ago, at a SBC conference, I heard Dr. Baker James Cauthen, Secretary of Foreign Missions, say, “the greatest area for evangelizing in the world, is among American black churches.” Studying black liberation theology, black nationalism, centered in black churches, we certainly understand the statement. Even 50 years ago, when I attended Dr. Brewster's great black baptist church in Memphis, women dominated the services, the men just sat to the side...women ushers, women musicians, women's choir, every area of the worship service except the pastor's preaching. No wonder young boys and girls, seeing this type church activity have such a warped theology.

Prince of preachers Charles Hayden Spurgeon, who, in his day, preached to 5,000 every Sunday at London's great Tabernacle near Westminster (a church which I have visited many times) said his heart was broken by an inactive men's laity. Most do not understand that his wife was bedridden most of their married life, but it is because of her, and her writing down all of his sermons, that we have his large collection of work. Most do not understand that he was crippled with bad feet most of his life. God does not want what we cannot do, but what we can do through boldness. Fanny Crosby, blind from birth, wrote 8,000 hymns, many of which are sung in a church every Sunday. On her tombstone in Connecticut, you find these words, which Christ spoke about the woman and the alabaster box, “She hath done what she could.” (Mark 14:8)

Many want to love a “nice Jesus”, many want to hear a nice pastor. When you seek a lawyer's service do you want a nice lawyer or a good lawyer? When you seek a doctor's services, do you want a nice doctor or a good doctor? If you are going to have any job, have success in any field, you must know what you are doing, personality is just the icing on the cake. I'd rather have an ill doctor who knows what he is doing, who knows the right place to cut, than one whose personality keeps a Jaguar in his driveway, and so would his malpractice insurance company. Most patients spend their efforts and money trying to rid their bodies of the toxicity caused by prescription writing.

The megachurches, the churches that are full, preach a nice Jesus. A prosperity gospel, “all you need is love” doctrine...Christ does not need cowards to carry his cross. The Gospel of Christ, the Gospel preached by Paul is a Gospel of sin's ruin and Christ's redemption, the gospel preached by Oprah, the new-age theology of anything goes, any path will get you there, though contagious, is contrary to God's Word in God's “lawbook”.

Many think they are seeing some tough times during this mild recession, I lived through the Great depression. Most do not realize that even in Chicago, school teachers were not paid for two years, men with doctorates sold apples on the street. One of my uncles walked 900 miles to go to study to be an electrician at Coyne College in Chicago. He came back and wired many of the ships built for WW2 in Wilmington. My father built his own trailer in which he lived while working defense jobs. I can still see my old grandparents, my mother, and others, doing work which they should not have been doing just to keep the farms going... these grandparent's only son in combat in the South Pacific. It took everything they could rake and scrape just to pay the horrendous tax burden.

Politicians do not want to hear about boldness, 73,000 blogs were erased just recently because the president was being criticized, who said we have freedom of speech? Muslims of the world know that Obama is a Sunni Muslim. The next world war, which will start shortly, will establish which Muslim group will be superior: the Shi'ah or the Sunni. There is no ambiguity about good and evil, most have tried to blend the world, the flesh, the devil...tried to put a sugarcoating on religion. They have no idea just how bad things really are.

It is a sobering thought that God is still in charge, able to repay for moral decay. The marketplace reality, having taken over science, academia, healthcare, everyone on the fringe of decency because government money is so attractive. In fact, why boldness anymore, what does heaven have to offer when we have a wealth of things which we so love, here on earth?

Diligence

“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” (Deuteronomy 6:7)

Diligence is a lost word in most vocabularies. In this lazy, automated society, it is rare to find anyone diligent about anything anymore. Most doctors could not practice without a computer, God help the cashier who must figure your change, the mechanic who must diagnose your car without electronics. I remember the time when you memorized facts and figures, places and things, even verses of God's precious, holy Word.

How quickly this lackadaisical, prideful smattering of humanity has forgotten the hard-earned qualities and quantities of life. Only 17% of the world's population has electric power and running water. I have been in countries where there was no electric power in the best hotels. The wealthier the people, the more ungrateful, the more spent on education, the more ignorance displayed. There is so much crime in America that the small crimes go unpunished and unnoticed.

One man stole one of my passwords and used it to list 5 cars for sale on my online account. When I reported this to the police, sending them all the paperwork necessary, the police department said, “do you know his phone number?” I said, “yes, this is his name, address and phone number.” The officer said, “we will call him and warn him not to do it anymore.”

A university student ordered sexually explicit material and charged it to my credit card although the material was shipped to his home. Law enforcement told me that nothing would be done because he did not have a record. The superintendent of schools of the state of Virginia (Dr. Ira Trollenger) rented a beach house from me and stole much of my furniture. After two lawyers, insurance and police, pictures and records of everything, nothing was done.

A pharmacist rented a furnished house from me, and at the end of the lease, without notifying me of anything, including painting the interior house, he moved out, taking many non-expendables with him (bedspreads, blankets, towels, glasses, wastebaskets, chairs, shower curtains, curtain rods, area rug, etc.). Nothing has yet been done to him, or the responsible realtor who was paid well to manage the property.

Is it plausible, feasible, practical that any furnished rental, motel, hotel, can survive very long with tenants taking whatever they want, redecorating without permission, moving in or out without permission? Does it make sense, do we exercise due diligence, when credit companies, traffic camera companies, can no longer go into the court because it is not practical for the court to spend time prosecuting people who have no integrity, character, or diligence left?

Commitment involves common sense and diligence to God, family, and country. Comparing a tree and a post is a matter of growth and diligence, both are in the ground; the tree has roots of decency, honesty, faithfulness. As is shown in the scripture, you can nail a sign on the post regarding this character, but it is only deep-rooted soul, the spirit which will cause growth. If you do not exercise diligence in nurturing the roots of this tree, like the post the tree will just become dead wood.

In the nation's capital we appoint the people who ruin things, to correct things. Has it occurred to anyone that only through true diligence, true character, true concern, will anything be corrected? We have all heard these epigrams: boys will be boys, little strokes fell great oaks, anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Did God, in his Commandments, expect us to offer excuses? These were commandments, not suggestions, contracts were not made to be broken. Leases were not signed to be defiled. I get so tired of lawyers saying, “that is just the cost of doing business.” If you excuse big sins, what happens to the small ones? If you do not trust all of God's Word, why trust any of it?

Teen suicide accounts for most teenager's deaths, most feel that they are in a deep hole and there is no ladder of escape. It takes much encouragement to live in this world, encouragement for young parents, encouragement for the elderly, encouragement for those trying to make something of their lives. I can honestly say without fear of contradiction, that I never received one word of encouragement in my youth, during my many years of college, military, and professional service, and certainly no encouragement during my years as a totally blind citizen. There have been acts of encouragement, but everyone needs words of encouragement. I believe God was talking about this in this Law of Moses, instructing the Jewish nation, it is with diligence that we will succeed as individuals, as families, as a nation. It is time to encourage with diligence, with concern.

If you want to see diligence, go to Burma, as I have done, and see entire families sitting on the ground, working with silk thread on one carpet, which it takes months to finish. They know this is their only opportunity in life, diligence for survival.

Time to Unplug

A young man who works for me has a growing family, a wife and 4 children, these parents have never attended church, but had the intelligence to know that their children should be in church. They can certainly see the direction the world is going. There was a church near their house and they went there last Sunday. They enjoyed the music, it is one of these churches with “drums and drama”. But, they became very confused, even bewildered when the church observed the Lord's supper, Communion. They had never heard anything about remembering the atonement of our Blessed Lord, and they became even more confused when some members of the church, filled with the spirit of the occasion, began to talk in tongues.

There are spiritually elite people in every congregation, those who have been in church their entire life, many members as well as pastors have been lulled to sleep believing that everyone has caught up with them. Knowing that there are visitors in the church, would it not behoove any pastor to explain the Lord's supper, that it is a believer's ordinance, not for the unbelievers.

Most of the “unchurched” have just witnessed brief encounters with Christianity by way of television. Anyone who can read can learn everything he needs to know, it does not take the spiritually elite to instruct him. As with everything else, there must be some desire, motivation, involved. I have been in mosques all over the world, I just kept quiet and observed, same in Catholic cathedrals, or even Pentecostal brush arbors.

People whose souls are mesmerized by this electronic age, the worst Satan-inspired invention one can imagine, television. The second worst Satan-inspired invention, bringing pornography and every decadent act known to man right into your house, the computer. All these should be unplugged. Get out into the fresh air and sunlight, which God has provided for the health of your soul and body.

I remember very well, World War 2, and so many young men could not pass the physical examination because, as victims of the Great Depression, they were undernourished and underweight. They had bad teeth, bad feet, bad musculature, all from the debilitation brought on by an unhealthy life. Now, most enlistees fail the test because of excess: overweight, illegal-expensive recreational drugs, sitting around watching television or playing games on a computer, laziness, lack of exercise, every thing in their lives automatic. Most young people are too lazy to change the gears in their cars, or raise and lower a window in their house. Their food, their entire lifestyle must be automatically controlled, automatic dishwashing, automatic clothes washing, most young people have never seen a clothes line or clothes pin. Farms and farm life is the only rational, promising lifestyle left in this county. The politicians are “chewing at the bit” through licenses, regulations, numbering, to get rid of America's farm life. When everything decent about America is gone, someone will say, “we unplugged the wrong things”.

The greatest republic the world has ever known, was made up of free enterprise, entrepreneur, hard-working, capitalistic, freedom-loving, family businesses. Today, through government regulation, we have a fascist-capitalistic-communistic-collectivist controlled government.

The greatest healthcare system was found in America, the Gravitas of healthcare practitioners prepared trained, licensed, peer-reviewed by their fellow professionals, unsurpassed education, quality students, carefully selected and paid privately according to ability. A profession-business atmosphere which gave America superior care all the way from the country doctor making his calls, first in a buggy, now in a car, to the university research centers.

The greatest schools the world has ever known were small, parent-directed and controlled, not political boards trying to meet to government objectives of political correctness. Finally realizing the failure of socialized public education, many parents, loving their children too much to see them entangled in satanic decadence, have chosen to home school. There is nothing prohibitive about homeschooling, it can be the most rewarding choice ever made regarding your most precious possession. Set a room aside for education, everything you need is available to you: online, from others in your community, from national self-help groups. You can always tell a student who has been home-schooled, and even one who has attended a private Christian school. The bad manners, illicit acts, quirks of confusion, have not affected these children. Youth is confusing enough at best, impossible at worst.

One of my friends had a young boy who was very confused about the satanic acts in public schools and the holiness of home. I said to the father and mother, “home school him!” The next time I saw the young man, he was a different person, showing all the potential I knew was there. If a national enemy were to invade this nation, go into the schoolhouse and do to your loved children what you are paying taxes for your own nation to do to them, you would rise up with guns and armor. Don't use the school's model for your model, American schools are a total failure, don't copy them.

God chose the foolishness of preaching to teach stiff-necked rebelling, defying people about him...his love, grace, faithfulness to the unlovely, almost beyond the mind of man to understand...the miracle of faith. So many deceived into thinking God's work is a matter of numbers. God is not interested in counting numbers, but rather making numbers count. Gideon first had 30,000 men, God told him to tell those who were scared,” to go home”, as would be the case today, 20,000 went home. Through other tests, and the tests always comes, only 300 were left. These 300 won the battle.

So often we depend on the sophisticated to make sophisticates, the world to give us God's advice. As in homeschooling, Sunday-schooling, it is a matter of teaching simple belief. A lady in a country church taught children for 27 years, the basics of God's word. At her funeral, some of her students said there was an aura about her when she talked, so convincing were her words.

The world needs to plug in to the fact that the most important teaching is in the home, we teach all the time, whether we know it or not. When the biography of Winston Churchill asked him to verify the names of his school teachers, he put his mother's name at the top of the list. He said, “my mother was my first and greatest teacher.” It is time to unplug the unnatural, and plug into the natural, that which will never fail or have a failing grade.

Rejection and Opposition

It is a very long historic story, much of it found in the Bible, but Cyrus, conqueror and ruler of the world's great Persian empire, after he captured Babylon where 650,000 Jews were in their Babylonian captivity, allowed 50,000 Jews to return to Jerusalem to rebuild their temple, around 515 BC. Cyrus was killed in 530 BC at the Syr Darya, with the ambition of capturing Egypt. It took the 50,000 Jews along with their cattle and families four months to cross the desert and return to Jerusalem, where ancient Solomon's temple, magnificent beyond compare, was in ruins.

It is only someone who has a vision, who had been through what these people had experienced, who could make offerings, worship, work in the hot sun, building with rocks, and at times, after finishing a project could celebrate with so many tears that onlookers could not tell if they were laughing or crying. They did not care, God's chosen, about rejection or opposition. After the foundation was finished, they celebrated, but infiltrators had entered their ranks and caused discouragement. Doubts were thrown their way about ever building something equivalent to the Solomon glory. They could not foresee that even the Messiah would teach in that building. For 15 years, they laid down their tools and weapons because of losing the vision, and did nothing. Much of this story can be found in the book of Ezra.

The shock therapy of life: after every victory, the test comes. It was because of a very old prophet Haggai, that their spirit returned. But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. (Psalm [of Haggai] 115:3-9) It was this old man, nearly 100 years old, who gave the necessary encouragement to build the temple in which Jesus and his disciples would worship against all opposition and rejection.

Many must wait for someone to tell them to go to work, it is a lazy son who sleeps late during harvest time (Proverbs 10:5) I can still remember how early we went to work on the farm during harvest time. Slothfulness has ruined many families and has now ruined a nation, hard times are prevented by learning early in life that your ways cannot be determined by opposition and rejection. If I had quit selling, door to door, every time I had a rejection, I would never had sold very many books, would never had finished and financed my eight years of university education.

One of my friends, Dr. C.L Lewis who became a prominent healthcare practitioner and Christian laymen, worked as I did on the book sales field every summer. He said, “I want my son to do the very same, because it will teach him more about rejection and overcoming everything than anything else I know. Prosperity, success in life, usually involves selling something. I know of no one who has made very much money without selling something: self, real estate, insurance, securities, etc. Job security, vacation time, entitlements, comfort at work lies in tightening a screw, same way, same time, day-in day-out on some assembly line of life. Success (business, political, professional) comes in the knockdown, drag-out of facing opposition and rejection.

The most difficult job I know is in telemarketing, one girl who worked for me as a secretary had such a job, one telephone call after another to people who were just a voice on the line, trying to convince them to buy something they did not want. You should hear her describe the number of hang-ups, cursing, insults, it would be easy to become bitter with such a job. When faced with such opposition, rejection, we'd better understand the love and blessings of all mighty God.

It is because we just go along to get along, do not stand up against tyranny anymore. We have decided that opposition and rejection are not politically correct, are afraid we might embarrass family or friends. We have allowed a nanny state to take over, government in total economic dominance, even to all energy consumption, water usage, control of your life through licenses and permits. It is only with a false flag of government deceit and lying, that the American public can be excited anymore. Oklahoma City bombing, which we know was a lie, or the Gulf of Tonkin, sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana harbor, throwing babies out of incubators in Kuwait, all these things we know were government lies, creating patriotism by the cruelest form of rejection, deception. Only a terror attack can save Obama...such has been concocted before. Russia is stronger now, both economically and militarily, than any time during the cold war when America made Russia our enemy...add all the deaths of Hitler, Mao, and other tyrants, they will not equal the deaths caused by Stalin, who during WW2 was made our friend and ally by our government.

Winning Life's Lottery

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.

Reinhold Niebuhr

There are those who win life's lottery, born to wealthy, well-positioned families, born with the genes and DNA for success, intelligence, good looks: hair color, eye color, slimness, tallness. Born with family traits of personality, energetic smile, heredity of presentation to the world, most of us do the best we can with what we have. Others are defeated, whipped, convinced of having lost the race before coming out the gate.

I met one of Manhattan's most influential real estate lawyers at a closing for property I had purchased. She was probably in her late 60s, still attractive, intelligent and totally in charge. Down by her chair was a small dog, she said, “Patsy comes with me to work everyday, she is the most precious thing of my life.” I went by to see her in a few months regarding another business matter, her chief assistant said, “wait here for a few minutes, she is having a bad day.” I heard her on the phone, weeping uncontrollably, she was instructing a veterinary service about picking up her dog who had died unexpectedly. She said, “the maid will let you in, she has her ready to go. You already have my instructions about her burial.”

In another instance, a local church organist, well known musician, Meredith college graduate who had never married, was completely devoted to her dog: Heidi. When the dog died, her friends all wrote sympathy notes to her about her loss. Would it not be wonderful if all this love shown toward pets, who we know will have a very short life, could be shown on children, many of whom would love to have a nice home and the wonderful love and attention given to animals. 7 out of every 1000 children in America are in foster care, North Carolina is ranked 16th by foster care population. 12,573 children were adopted from foreign countries and brought to America last year, mostly from China and Russia. The county in which I live, one of NC's smaller counties has 576 children in foster care. In 2009, $39 billion dollars were spent in America on pet food, more money than was given to all churches.

The most difficult area of evangelism, missionary zeal, is the street on which you live, or your own family, they always dance around the area of eternal joy, deceived into thinking they have some joy here and now. G. K. Chesterton said, “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It had been found difficult and left untried.” We were not promised a bed of ease, the prince of the power of the air does not give up easily, he does everything possible to confuse and discourage. Very few predicted the dot com bubble, very few predicted the housing bubble, very few predicted the bailout bubble. We are in a bubble, and we do what we can to the best of our ability. In spite of life's problems, we are winners of life's lottery, simply by survival, simply by knowing God has a special love for each of us.

I was on the island of Samoa in the South Pacific, staying at the historic Aggie Grey's hotel, she was still alive when I was there, the woman who greeted the American troops on the beach during WW2. I asked the man who was cleaning my room if there was a church nearby since it was Sunday. He said, “yes, there is one right up the street and I will walk you there.” It was a clapboard building painted white, much like church buildings in eastern North Carolina. He got me to the front door and said, “I'll be back for you later.” Someone got me to a pew and I noticed the building was full of barefoot people, all were dressed in white. I couldn't understand the song they were singing, but I recognized the music on the piano, “what a friend we have in Jesus.”

She was evidently a missionary, the one conducting the service, a real high pitched voice, she read her scripture and then walked down the aisle, all the way back to me, and said in English, Psalm 84:5: “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee.” At that time I just had a shadow of vision in my left eye, was getting more and more depressed with my blindness, this one thing saved my life, changed my life. I realized I could no longer depend on my strength, but I was blessed to have other strengths. From that day to this, I have realized that in spite of everything, we have won life's lottery if we realize our strength is in the Lord.

Fingerprints

Satan has left his fingerprints on our lives. 25% percent of all church members never give anything to the church, time, talent or treasury. Members can sit for hours in a movie theater, before a television screen or computer table, but find it impossible to spend one hour in worship, once a week. I have often been asked to describe an authentic Christian. #1. Totally in love with God's Word, cannot get enough of it: reading, listening, sermon or song. #2. Love completely, particularly your fellow Christians (Bereans). #3. Believe confidently. #4. Giving cheerfully (the tithe is the starting point of faith, He owns your tithe whether you give it or not, faith is reaching toward the impossible).

There is nothing worse in this life, not even death, than being deceived. One of my friends, a doctor, came by my house. He said, “I must talk with you.” He had learned that his wife was an adulteress, was having an affair with one of her fellow workers. He said, “it is more than I can bear, I simply cannot look at her the same way. I put a private investigator on the case, we have pictures, times, places, everything. I love my children too much to put them through a nasty divorce. I have been trying to decide if I want to kill her or myself...or both.” It is the oldest and most diabolical act known to man, Moses was faced with the problem, Christ was faced with the problem, every religious talk show is bombarded with the problem. Right now, a woman (Sakineh) in Iran is condemned to stoning, by the problem.

A new business acquaintance asked me if I wanted to get some lunch, so we went to Wendy's...he had never been out with a blind person before. As always, with anyone, I told him to let me take his elbow and he could guide me to a table and then get our food. He told me later that he went home and told his wife that he was amazed by the callousness of other people in the restaurant. He had the mistaken idea, that someone seeing a disabled blind person would offer to hold a door open, etc. I told him, “No, that day is long gone.” You are lucky to not be trampled.

Everyday, in every form of media, you are besieged by news of conduct, considered rare just a few years ago, but almost expected now...rape, robbery, killings, political corruptness, deceit, hypocrisy. When a detective discovers a crime, he looks for evidence, some of the best evidence: fingerprints. We are seeing the fingerprints, evidence, of what has happened to American family life.

Men seek pornography, woman discover it accidentally, pornography is more addictive than crack cocaine. 1/6 of all women are addicted to pornography, we usually think of this as being strictly a male problem. But with both sexes, brain chemistry changes when you watch pornography. We have sat back and watched our water get poisoned by brain-dumbing chemicals, for instance, fluoride and chloride (both used by the Nazis in WW2, look on any exterminating poison). We have seen our food and medicines compromised by poisons, constant recalls.

This year, Johnson & Johnson has recalled 43 over-the-counter children's medicines, the Peanut Corporation of America recalled over 3913 different peanut butter products due to salmonella contamination, over 300,000 packages of Toll House cookies for E. coli bacteria, etc. etc. and for the thousands of the recalls, only 1% ever take the product back. After the second largest beef recall in American history, Topps Meat Co. went out of business. Can we even imagine the damage that could be done, with carefully placed terrorists in the American food industry, or sin industries such as the cigarette industry? (Muslims do not smoke, do not use alcohol, do not use pork products) Think of what could happen with pork wieners! 95% of rat poison is just innocuous corn meal, it is that 5% arsenic which does the work.

In 1941, President Roosevelt gave his famous “Four Freedom speech”, in which he listed four freedoms every human should enjoy: Freedom of speech, Freedom of religion, Freedom from want, Freedom from fear. This week at Catholic Georgetown university, Hillary Clinton introduced another, “the freedom to love”, bringing to the poor, the gay agenda. The Obama administration made 715 million dollars available for “safe” abortions. In there any safety in murder?

Perhaps there are no fingerprints on the cultural decay of those like Oprah Winfrey, the “fifth Gospel” for many people. She has promoted every area of new age religion, books, authors, politicians. None have been as effective as The Secret by Rhonda Burn, The Shack by William Young, and the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. On page 164 of The Secret, we are told that we are gods. Recently, a professor at a Christian college told me that The Secret was the greatest book she has ever read. Now, there is something wrong with her Christianity or her mind. Page 110 of The Shack, we are told that there are many paths to God. I understand many supposed Christians read these books, such fingerprints of Satan should be burned. I have never believed in book-burning without cause, perhaps the time has come.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1 John 3:1) Satan may have his fingerprints on you and the world, but remember this: you are the only one of the billions who have lived on this earth with your fingerprints. Behold, what manner of love, fourteen times in the 150 verse of John's first letter tells us that we can know we are saved for eternal life, in spite of Satan's efforts.

Making Sense of Sin

Once you have been touched by God's Word, you are never the same again, you see everything differently. Without faith you cannot please God (Hebrews 11:6), and 90% of faith is just raw courage, faith being a verb, action based on belief sustained by confidence. Man made his choice at the very beginning, in the garden. He chose a slimy serpent instead of the creator of the universe simply because the first two souls wanted things their way. It has never changed, from 4000 BC, God has tolerated a belligerent Jewish nation. He even chose to become one of them in his incarnation, He and his disciples taught the law, Christ preached Himself, the Gentiles did not enter in to the picture. When they did, they were just pagans, knew nothing of the Old Testament, the psalms which the Jews sang.

In the garden, Satan took over, he even tempted our blessed Lord (Matthew 4) offering Him the world. With the preaching of Paul, the kingdom of grace, on this side of the cross, where sin did abound, grace did much more abound (Romans 5:20). If God's Word says it's going to happen, it will happen. The world's fastest growing religion is witchcraft, this was all predicted...even those ordained to teach and preach the truth, find it unpopular to do so. You can be sure that Osteen, Schuller and others would not attract big crowds if they preached sin's ruin and Christ's redemption (¼ of all church members give nothing to the church).

Law enforcement, lawyers, no one wants anything to do with sin, law breaking. I called my lawyer recently about a tenant in one house, a professional man who moved out, taking much of my property with him. The lawyer said, “that is just the way it is these days, it is a cost of doing business.” In many localities, police have taken down their cameras, because it has become too expensive to prosecute those breaking the law. This includes speeders, etc. It has become too expense to have court sessions for collections of bad debts, credit cards, etc.

Most business is based on deceit, they have found deceit gets better results. For instance, this morning, I get a bill for my flood insurance company, stating my insurance has lapsed, but can be renewed if the bill is paid immediately. Now, this is the first bill I had received this year for the insurance. Naturally, with a house on the ocean, I pay my flood insurance without question, and have done so for many years. I have never had an insurance policy to lapse. Next, they say, if you pay the larger amount we will increase the coverage “to allow for increased property value.” How many millions of policy-holders do you think would not pay the increased $15, even though the policy says nothing about how they would increase the coverage or value?

The tragedy, over the years, such bizarre practices as this, and this is just one of many involving the world's greatest rip-off, the insurance market. Policies written by lawyers, so that no one but a lawyer could possibly understand it, have been reported by me to regulators. There again, nothing was ever done because the regulators have political appointments. Look at your telephone bill, your electric bill, other utility bills, see the small incremental charges that creep in. One man said, “I just pay it, what is the need of a fight?” And, that is the answer, incrementally, the slimy serpent of sin crept in, and we have all been subdued.

Collection of debt is totally dependent on automation, during a depression with such a loss of jobs, people do not spend, there is little hiring, much moving around, and debtors have learned to ignore the court system. There is little blood left in the turnip, sinners, like politicians, know how to work the system. Buyers know how to work the system, in a depression, a vehicle priced $20,000 today can probably be bought later for 10,000.

Learning, growing, sharing are kingdom principles, kingdom of Heaven, grace. As a securities broker said to me, “today's business students are taught to do whatever is necessary to make a profit” (John Dewey, communist dictum, “the end justifies the means”). The old tried and true business principle: “honesty is the best policy”. has become out of style in my lifetime. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness has been removed from the Constitution, survival has become a mafia-type exercise.

In a commercial building, a misreading caused me to dispute with the state's largest energy supplier, Progress Energy. I had contact with the regulators and the utilities commission. A woman called me, sent emails, representing herself as working for the utilities commission, she said, “I have Progress Energy on the phone right now. If you will approve the paying of the disputed amount, we will enter into negotiations to resolve the dispute.”

I found out later that the utilities commission had nothing to do with such a dispute, but even more bizarre, the head of the utilities commission said they had no employee by that name. Is there something wrong with this picture? I went through the expense of making copies of every communication involving every detail of this activity, I sent copies of this entire matter to the commission, the legislators involved in utilities, the NCAG, the NC Governor, and two local legislators, to date, I have heard nothing from anyone. Are you beginning to understand why sin and the treachery of sin is on the increase?

We have only one recourse, faith is pictured as the safety found in the cleft of a rock or under a mother bird's wing. God's Word is truth, the only thing left on which we can depend, the verse of scripture exactly halfway between the 788,000 words of the Holy Bible: “trust in the Lord, and put no confidence in men” (Psalm 118).

Welfare Queen Vixen

I was in Kenya, East Africa, during a severe drought, the grass and foliage had dried up throughout the “bush”. The wild animals were invading the manicured, sprinkled golf courses of Nairobi. I was in the Cameroons, West Africa, I had noted large stacks of foliage up in trees, my guide told us, “this is in case of drought.” How well I remembered the hay stacks on the farm, where I helped stack hay, future food for the animals. You never hear of hay stacks anymore, I understand that you never see hay stacks anymore. The population will wish it had planned for future droughts such as wild, uncontrolled climate conditions. Just as on the farm, the cow had to be milked on Sunday, as you store food for yourself, store food for your animals.

With the spreading urbanization of our cities, (in 1900, 70% of the American population lived on farm land) city planners aiming their greedy annexing eyes toward any available land, wildlife is finding shelter and food wherever possible. It makes me sick, not only man's inhumanity to man, but man's inhumanity to our fellow creatures.

He did not realize how much he had affected me by what he said, but one of my friends told me of shooting a large buck deer from his back porch. He said, “the deer were invading my property. I went out to see if I had killed the deer, I was going to salvage some of the meat (this means he was going to cut out the choice parts of the deer, leaving the rest for the wild animals, just as is the practice of uncivilized people in Africa). I could not find the deer, the deer probably went off somewhere to die.” I thought, “yes, the wounded deer would die in pain just as many wounded Americans have died from bullet wounds...long after the shot.”

My friend John knows how thrilled I am to hear him talk about the wild vixen who went under his one of his outbuildings to give birth to four small foxes (kits). He, and no one else, could go outside when she was exposed, but from his window he watched the loving mother care for her babies, playing with them. Always, a big feral cat kept (imagine such understanding among animals!) watch nearby, making sure that no other animal interfered. Then, he started to take food and water out to the building, table scraps (rice and gravy, bread, etc.). He said, “she enjoyed the food as the big cat stood guard nearby.” But, as is true with all wildlife, the time came when she ran the babies off, they were on their own, one of these foxes might be in your chicken house right now. Evidently the mother has become addicted to welfare, like most recipients of welfare, why go out and work when you are being provided so well by someone else?

On the beach, one of my beach neighbors goes out everyday with stale bread for the seagulls. I told him, “those seagulls think they are on welfare, just standing around on the beach each day, waiting for you to feed them. They will stop going out and foraging food for themselves, as seagulls have done since the beginning of time.”

As the great Margaret Thatcher, one of England's greatest Prime Ministers said, “socialism is good until the money runs out.” Thatcher, born above her father's butcher shop in Grantham, England, knew what it was to work for a living. She saw the socialism virus infect and finally take over her nation. England, at one time the world's greatest power (the sun never sets on the British Empire), ruler of Canada, Australia, India, Middle East, etc., now is a once beautiful fruit on a withering vine...dying from socialism. The largest employers in the world: the Chinese Army, the railroad system of India, the socialized healthcare system of England.

One of my employees managed a restaurant which his mother owned. Birds had a “hang-out” around the dumpster of his restaurant, the employees started feeding the birds, and before long there was a large “welfare” colony of birds around the back of the restaurant. You can write it down, you can write it in stone, it will never fail, everywhere in the world, it has been tried, it has happened, if anyone can sit around and do nothing...get all the necessities of life while doing nothing, they will cease to be productive, cease to work, cease to have any integrity, any thrill in knowing a job well done.

Travel the world, ask anyone, “what are the words you want to hear at the end of your life?” You will get the same answer everywhere, it comes from the Bible, but not as people think. “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21) The master did not make this statement from someone living a good life, the statement is made in the parable of the talents. The master had given several men talents to invest, those who worked hard, took risks, were productive, increased their talents, some fourfold, some double. It is the one who hid his talent, buried his talent, sat around and did nothing that the master condemned.

Much like our savior's next parable, the parable of the sower. Some seed fell on dry, infertile ground, and never took root, too busy with the things of the world (the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things entering in [Mark 4:19]), but some fell on fertile ground, where the seed took root and grew became productive.

Even wild animals, who have never been to a school for discipline training, have the good instincts of motherhood, are easily caught up in the enticement, addiction of the welfare trough. This happened to a wild vixen, who became a welfare queen.

Back to School

Soon, there will be advertisements everywhere concerning “back to school” specials. For eight years, I was the editor of a professional journal, and each fall I would have a picture on the front, children happily returning to school. They will not believe it now, but their school years are the happiest years of their lives. All children want to learn, and most children will learn. Just as Satan put into the minds of the “first family” the act of rebelling, so he has put the act of rebelling in the brain of every child. Governor Charles Brantley Aycock (NC Governor 1900-1904) was called the education governor of North Carolina, he had attended a one room school in Wayne county NC with both of my grandfathers. This school now sits at the Aycock birthplace in Wayne county. The governor said he got his passion for education when he saw his mother make her mark on a deed, she could not read or write.

When I was young, a high school graduate was rare, a college graduate stood out in the entire community. My father, and all his brothers and sisters were high school graduates and most went on to college. My mother was the only member of her family that did not graduate from high school.

This writer went to the same small county school for twelve years, there was 13 in my graduating class. A boy named Elvin started school with me, but only went through the sixth grade, having to drop out to work on the farm. Elvin's family lived back up in the woods, I never saw his mother but once. Tenant farmers, they had very little as far the world goes. I remember that one teacher, Ms. Champion (fourth grade) gave Elvin a lot of attention. He told me that she went to his house, took clothes to his mother for Elvin and his brothers and sisters. She told his mother that Elvin had the prettiest eyes she had ever seen. His mother said that this was the nicest thing that had ever been said to her.

At a school in Johnson county, Glendale, a teacher told her students to write on three sheets of paper the names of each classmate, skip three lines under each name, and under each name write the nice things you know about your classmate. The class was amazed to find how much they were appreciated by their fellow class members.

I heard recently of a school in Arkansas where, when the students arrived at their classroom, there were no student's desks in the room. The teacher had made all the arrangements ahead of time, with the principal's permission. When the teacher came in, she said, “I want to ask you who makes it possible for you to sit at a desk each day.” As the students sat around the wall, on the floor, they gave various answers: the state, the county, taxes, the president. The students, tired and dejected around 11 o clock, heard a knock at the door. Twenty seven veterans with their veterans cap on came into the room, each carrying one of the student's desks. The veteran put the desk down and called out the student's names. The teacher than introduced each veteran to the class, their military service, and how long they were in the military. The teacher said, “this is the reason you are in school, because these are the men who made it all possible.”

The total annual budget for education of school-age children, public and private, is $970 billion. Some states spend more than others per student, North Carolina spends $6500 per student. Of course, more and more students are going to private schools, Christian schools, charter schools, and more and more students are being home-schooled. One of my assistants had five children, she home-schooled all of them. Parents who love their children will not subject them to insults, embarrassment, and the degradation of the public schools. Parents who love their children, who spend much time investing themselves, their morals, their spiritual beliefs in their children will not allow everything good done at home to be undone at the school.

There was a time when the public school teacher was respected; not anymore, most have gone the way of Sodom. More interested in their national union, political correctness, evolution and atheism than the tender, innocent beliefs of God's special chosen people, little people. Even 80 years ago, there was bullying in the schools...and these were segregated schools. I still remember, as a small child, how I suffered because I was afraid to go to the bathroom because of the thuggery that went on there by the larger, bullying boys who knew nothing about sensitivity towards anyone. I can only imagine what is like today, you do not want your child, the most precious possession of your life, to be subjected to such. It amazes me that most children turn out as well as they do, considering from where they come, blaring music, cursing, beatings, infidelities.

Recently, my driver and I were in a fast food restaurant having lunch, I could only hear what went on. My driver described the scene, a black woman had come in for her paycheck, and evidently the manager told her that she was fired. In front of other employees, customers, I have never heard such profanity from the lips of one black woman. My driver told me that she had a small boy with her, and that he acted very unconcerned. I said, “such language is shocking to us, but he has heard it all before, it is a daily diet with him.”

I have been active in many political campaigns, campaigns for governor...Terry Sanford, Dan Moore, Jim Martin, etc. Always, without fail, every campaign is built on the theme: “why Johnny can't read”. More politicians express interest in education now than ever, more money is spent on education than ever, there is more interest by the general public in education than ever before. Until the entire education system, federal, state, local is dismantled and we return to basics, nothing will improve. As one Massachusetts educator said to me, “we just need to tear everything down and start over.”

At the national teacher's union convention in 1997, a black choir sang an anthem in which God was mentioned. The president of the national teachers union apologized to the assembled delegates for the reference to God. One mother told me recently that her child gets his vitamins each day, just as important, as important as it was to our ancestors: Bible reading and prayer each day.

I was in Ulan Bator, Mongolia out early in the morning for a walk, near a school. The students marched to school in uniform, military music could be heard from the school. A teacher was standing at each entrance door, checking each student before the student entered the school. I saw the same routine at schools in Ivory Coast, West Africa, and certainly the public school palaces in communist China. In 1963, because of an innocuous 21-word prayer, Bible reading and prayer was taken out of the public school, replacing these American traditions with police patrolling the halls.

Socrates said the best way to learn is by asking questions. I have the following questions: When will education be taken out of the political system? When will we return to the time of teacher's colleges, when new teachers were educated by old teachers who knew how it is done? When will discipline be returned to the classroom (we pay someone well to discipline the dog, but do not want a child born with rebellion to be disciplined)? When will the public realize that as long as it takes a father and a mother to make a living for a family, with all the quandary of responsibilities in any extra time, that excessive taxation has led to the moral and education decay of the family? When will we learn that it is not transportation to school, it is not skin-color, it is not DNA, it is not the education of the parents that determines a child's learning skills, development and contribution to society.

There are 125 youth programs controlled by Congress, not one knows what the others are doing...much duplication, most political appointments. Evolution and entertainment are not the answer, as Sir Winston Churchill said, his “first and greatest teacher was [his] mother.”

“For He teacheth them to despise earthly things and to love heavenly; to neglect the world and to desire heaven all the day and night.” (Imitation of Christ)

At the palace theater in New York City in 1938, one of the world's greatest movies, Jezebel, opened. It stared Bette Davis and Henry Fonda (father of Jane and Peter). In the movie, Jezebel said, “I have deliciously wicked hands.”

In the scriptures (Book of Kings), Bible history tells us that Jezebel was the wife of Ahab, King of Israel. Worshipers of Baal, both were wicked beyond words to describe. After Ahab's death, Jezebel was the power behind the throne. The prophet Elisha had anointed Jehu king of Israel. Cleansing the country, Jehu threw Jezebel out of the window at the palace at Jezreel, even the dogs would not eat her hands, so wicked.

I was in Nepal, Asia, in one village I saw a woman caring for a baby without hands. In a disastrous fire, she had lost both of her hands, but she was still working with stubs at the end of her arms. I can not begin to understand what life would be like without hands, each hand with 27 bones, 17 muscles, more nerve endings and tactile sensors than any other place in the human body. I use my hands to guide me through life...helping me make judgments about everything.

Think of the magnificence of hands, the training necessary and hand-eye coordination to interpret music on the music stand and play the keys on a piano, to play any musical instrument, to accomplish delicate surgery, to type on your computer. You can do the grossest, yet most delicate work with your hands: shoveling dirt or delicate embroidery.

My first time in China, for gifts I purchased very old, delicate Chinese embroidery, many delicate drawings...these examples of artistic perfection could only be accomplished with hand-eye coordination...any time, any where anyone questions you about your belief in omnipotent, omniscient, sovereign God ask that they explain to you the neurology of such tactile, intricate work. It is like the clotting of blood, I have memorized all the procedures, no one but almighty God could perfect the act. The laying on of hands is as old as man, God told Adam and Eve not to touch just one tree of all the trees in the garden, “to obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22). Man always rebels, had rather believe a slimy serpent than Almighty God, and here we are, thousands of years later, still suffering from the disobedience of our first parents, but still disobeying, “we are such slow learners.”

My mother and grandmother could tell you your temperature with their hands much better than a thermometer, they you could tell you more about the health of the unborn with their hands than could the obstetrician. The hands of women have worked in birth delivery, just as they have worked in laying out the dead. I had rather have an old doctor with sensitive hands and a stethoscope than all recent graduates with their computers. Long after I had quit practicing, too blind to actually care for patients I had other people doing everything, just my walking into the examining room and taking a patient by the hand was sufficient.

The anointing by hands at any religious service, the right hand of fellowship at any service, spiritual or secular. The lifting of holy hands (1 Timothy 2:8) in an evangelical setting is always sufficient for every need. Many hands never have a manicure, never experience greed, theft, lust and other sinful acts, but think of the hands that do, taking money and graft under the table, back door political dealing, throwing the dice, or the working the gambling machines. We have a dominant hand just like we have a dominant eye, a dominant foot, just make sure your hands do not dominate your mind with cravings, addictions and appetites which start in the mind.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

Is it possible for anyone, Christian or otherwise, to read this and not know that everything here is happening now, all brought on by hands. In Raleigh, greedy hands buy influence, in Washington, lustful hands buy anything Satan offers. The most corrupt place in the world, and if Washington escapes, God will apologize to Sodom.

The hands, such a magnificence of God's creation, even God wrote the Ten Commandments by hand, commandments...not suggestions. Even God covered the earth with darkness, seeing Jesus wonderful hands pierced, hands that had healed the sick, raised the dead, fed thousands.

I would like to have seen my mother and father before they were buried in the ground, but I did ask the mortician to let me feel their hands in the casket. I did not think of what they had not done for me, but what those hands had done for me...hard work, loving care, inspiration.

Deconstruction

The great writer Lewis Carroll wrote two famous books Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. In Through the Looking Glass, Alice comes to a fork in the road, she does not know which way to go, which road to take. Sitting on a tree at the fork is a large Cheshire cat, she asks the cat, "which road shall I take?" The cat said, "where are you going?" Alice said, "I don't know." "Then", the Cheshire cat said, "it does not matter which road you take."

It must provoke God to anger that human beings have been given the correct road to take in life, yet they choose to travel the incorrect road, “the road most traveled.” Adam and Eve chose to trust the slimy serpent rather than God. Before the Flood, after the Flood, and until the cross, men always chose the low road in life, rather than the high road. They pay for their sins over and over, yet learned nothing. On the other side of the cross, they chose a thief, turned him back on the streets and hung the only perfect man who has ever lived on the cross. Given a choice, mankind usually picks sin because sin is so attractive: wrong over right, evil over good.

God Himself, creator of the universe (John 1), took all our sins and diseases to the cross, as prophesied 700 years before God put on a “tent” of human flesh. Through the atonement, redemption, we have the salvation of God living in us. Many understand, but are not willing to pay the price.

The Bible protects girls more than boys, women were little more than slaves until Christ came into the world. I have never known a female atheist or a poor atheist. Any time, I had rather talk with an unashamed atheist than a mixed up church member. Those who do not want God in their lives, their church, their country should go to Europe, Russia, or China where God has been taken from the scene. Europe, once Christian, has become a secular, non-believing playground for agnostics, and the Muslims, who still have a strict belief system, have taken oven. There are more mosques in Europe than churches. The difference in Western and Eastern religious philosophy is: Western Christian – love through sacrifice, Eastern Cults – sacrifice without love.

We learned to prop up our economy by engaging in winless, useless wars. We came out of the Great Depression with WW2...Korean (53,000 killed), Vietnam (58,000 killed) were promoted to keep the economy going. Now, Iraq, Afghanistan (5,000 killed) and other brush-fire wars such as Serbia and the first Kuwait/Iraq conflict have kept the economy going until we find debt is choking us to death in spite of war. So, there must be a third world war, starting with the bombing of Iran, a cauldron in the middle east, bringing in the worst of the Somalia, Pakistan, and other interdictions.

With the new world order, we will have a one world financial system, a one world energy system, the beginning of a one-world retail and grocery system. You don't have to look far, just the disappearance of the family farm (for every farmer less than age 35, there are 8 over age 65), roadside stands, corporate farming, two crop seasons such as in Brazil (two crops each year, a harvesting combine on one side of a large field, the ground being turned and replanted on the other side.).
We hear that Americans are too good to a do a dirty job, that lowly foreigners, illegals, must come in to do the hard work. Still, at my old age, my hands are not too good to clean commodes at rental property. You see, I know what it is like to work all day in hot, green, sticky tobacco to make one dollar. I saw my mother, my family do the same type of hard work.

You see much sand in the Sahara desert which can be a real peril, today's youth want to see sand in a sand trap on a golf course. It is always a matter of outlook. What a man loves is a test of his happiness. One who loves vice cannot stand to think of religion. If you love your body, you will not become addicted to poisons: liquor, recreational drugs, cigarettes. The difference in dieting and fasting, in dieting you are doing something for your body, in fasting you are doing something for your soul. There is nothing more miraculous then the design, morphology, and physiology of the human body, why deconstruct it?

So many of us gave so much for your liberty, many interpret liberty as enslavement and freedom to sin...enslavement of addiction, greed, gluttony, lust, anger, all these sins beginning with the gateway sin of pride. You can only be reconstructed with humility. Incrementally, you drift into deconstruction, there are more discouragers than encouragers in the world, everyone needs words of encouragement. The only time our Blessed Lord sang was before His death on the cross, just after the Lord's supper, before they left the upper room.

The greatest weapon Satan has in his arsenal to defeat is the weapon of discouragement, despair. Both Nikolai Lenin, Premier of Russia, and the apostle Paul (Saul of Tarsus), persecutor of Christians, were killers. Lenin, if he had the reconstruction of God's more than abundant grace, could have been a powerful giant of faith, just as the apostle Paul, who had such a marvelous conversion on the Damascus road. Pray for transforming, not conforming (Romans 12:1-2). Christianity is not just defensive, but offensive...we are truly “onward Christian soldiers”.

You Did Not Draw The Map

Cartography is the art and science of map-making. In today's world of GPS, even the road map in the glove compartment is seldom used. Do you remember the maps on rollers in the front of the classroom, which your teacher pulled down and from which you became acquainted with your world?

We do not know the exact date of the first maps, some time around the time of Noah's Great Flood (5000 BC). In a museum in Turkey, there are supposed maps of the Antarctic before it was covered in ice (Piri Reis). Can one even imagine the early maps of the world, most of them guess-timations? It is like predicting the size of heaven, a cube of 250,000 miles and that is just the first floor (Revelation 21:16). Our earth is only 25,000 miles in circumference.

About forty-five years ago, a local school superintendent had left town to take a job in western North Carolina. Having considered retiring here, he had bought acreage nearby, and a friend told me that the acreage was for sale. My lawyer looked up the ownership on the tax records, I knew what he paid for the land. I wrote to him and offered him $1,000 more than he had paid for the land. The transaction was just that smooth, attorneys handling the entire thing.

At that time, I still had a shadow of vision in the left eye. One day, I went out and walked across the land, since I owned it, I felt I had the right to walk it. In a wooded area, in a far corner, I had came across something I didn't know I had purchased, a small graveyard, a wire fence surrounding three graves. It was at the very corner of the property, with no records of it of any sort, any where about the cemetery. There were three small gravestones, all three gravestones had the same name, one a child four months of age, a woman twenty years of age, and a woman ninety years of age.

I did a little detective work, called every family with the same last name as those on the gravestones. Only one black lady was acquainted with the situation, she said, “yes, I remember”, the older lady was a distant cousin. There was a house on the property, the house had burned to the ground, with the young mother and baby in it. The grandmother had gone to work at night, and was not at home, her granddaughter, unmarried mother of the baby, had been standing too close to the open fireplace. Her bed clothes evidently caught on fire, and in an attempt for her to get out of the clothes and rescue the baby, the entire house burned down with both of them in it. The grandmother, never recovering from the loss, wanted to be buried next to them. This accounts for the three graves, which everyone, seemingly, had forgotten. Like the unknown soldier's tomb in Arlington: “known only to god”.

Mere mortals do not draw their own road-map, God is the great cartographer, making all the decisions of your life before the very foundation of the world. If we drew our own road map, all of us would chose to be healthy, wealthy and wise. We would not choose the bumps, holes, crooks of our road, everything would be smooth, easy going, an easy race to the finish line.

Only the disabled can understand disability, only the blind can understand blind Bartimaeus who cried out to Jesus, “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10:48) Only the lepers could know the inhumanity of leprosy...your fellow human beings throwing rocks at you, required to shout “unclean” when approaching anyone. Can anyone imagine a man, lying, begging outside the gate, called “beautiful”, of the temple?

The horizontal and vertical meridians of your map have been drawn by the mercy of God, but you have the free will to make changes. Your battles of life, are not determined by defense alone, much depends on the offensive. If someone says to you, “there are too many contradictions in the Bible”, tell them to bring you a list. The one true road map on which you can depend, the one answer book that never fails, the one course of procedure which never grows old, after thousands of years, as true now as then, is the Word of God engraved in your very being. Think of what the world would be like if everyone followed this one tried and true road map. Think of the power you have in your very being, the One who made the world and everything in it now living in you, “the hope of glory” (John 1, Colossians 1:24-28).

In my houses, I keep radios on all the time, this guides a blind man around, outside, I am aware of every noise. When you lose one sense, you learn to depend on and develop the others. I simply cannot feel color. Today, a friend told me of a wild fox that gave birth to four kits (baby foxes) near his house. He said, “what a wonderful mother.” Blessed is the person that understands the road maps on which life must depend.

Standing Tall

I recently said to a young politician, running for public office his first time, “politics is the most important place for charity and truth, and sad to say politics is a victim of political correctness. Christ told us to fear not (Psalm 37), learn to bow low to God, and stand tall before men.” I told him about my earlier exploits into politics, when I was in a room of politicians I felt like I was in a room full of snakes. Moses, at age 120, knowing that he would soon die, told Joshua and his successors to choose life. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may life (Deuteronomy 30:19).

From Noah's Flood (4090 BC) until the present, there has been thousands of years of anguish. Many are predicting the end of this “veil of tears”, the return of Christ on May 21, 2011. We know the Mayan calender predicts such, and so does the numbers we have been able to decipher in the Bible. Whatever, we trust the One in charge, “standing at the ready”. Once you are at peace with God, you do not fear what man can do to you, Heaven is your destination.

Six years ago, while I was down under my house at Wrightsville Beach, a blind man moves around quietly and carefully, I overheard a conversation from under the house next door. Two men were telling two girls about transporting illegal drugs to a military base nearby (Camp LeJune). One said, “your package is in the bottom of this cooler full of freshly caught fish and ice. If one of these pigs stops you, you have your fishing gear, and they are not about to put their hands in this cooler. Deliver the cooler to this address and you are paid for the transportation, there is nothing for you to worry about. Even if they were to find anything, you know nothing about it.”

I had suspected for some time that the house next to me was a den for drug traffickers, even more suspicious when someone told me there were police officers in and out of the place. Police officers in Wrightsville Beach have always been known for their drug dealing, it went on across the street from me in another house that I own, and when I reported it to a town alderman, my tires were immediately slashed. My next door neighbor, a stroke victim, sleeping very little at night, saw the police officer when he did the dirty deed.

I owned a very small camera which I could hide in the palm of my hand, that I used when traveling abroad. I would photograph the license plates of the cars next door, even paid for the development of the film. I sent copies of all of this, as well details of the overheard conversations to law enforcement. As usual, nothing was done. This is the cauldron of sorcery in which we find ourselves living today, was it any worse before the Great Flood, before Sodom?

One morning, 2008, before the presidential election, my doorbell rang. A well-known attorney's wife who I had met when she was a reporter for the local newspapers was at the door looking for a former tenant. The tenant had moved out of the house, stealing my furniture, of course, this is the type of person the Obama supporters were seeking for votes. I told the attorney's wife, “in living color”, what had happened with the person she was pursuing. The thievery of my furniture, turned over to police, insurance, and two lawyers, and my net return to date, zero. Recently another such incident, a pharmacist, one who you trust to compound your prescription, moved out of a house, taking all bedspreads, all towels, all blankets, all glasses, all trashcans, all bathroom rugs, and many other things such as shower curtains, chairs, utensils, all brooms.

The tragedy is that when one stands tall about petty thievery, lawyers and even law enforcement take the attitude “this is just the cost of doing business, you just expect this from young, dumb professionals.” The first tenant's father was superintendent of the state of Virginia's schools, Dr. Ira Trollenger. I trusted the realtor who put the pharmacist into my property, (it turns out that the realtor represented my tenant in a further transaction) even though I had paid him a nice commission for doing nothing except for exercising “due diligence”. In a time when American morality has been led, not by the poor and disenfranchised, but the insatiable greed of those who should know better. If you cannot trust professionals, who can you trust? Doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, realtors, those who have a license, those who have boards of ethics regulation, those on who the public must depend because of their monopolies. Where does the public go for relief? The saddest part of this dialogue is the fact that political correctness and political connections determine justice.

When everyone refuses to stand up, not even standing tall, against corruption, greed, gluttony, lust, laziness, sinfulness, we will just have more and more of it. It is time for tax-paying, god-fearing, hard-working citizens to stand tall and say “enough is enough”. Incrementally, day after day, month after month, year after year, schools have dumbed down students, hard working parents have gotten further and further behind in everything. The worst thing over-taxation has done to this nation is keeping mother, who must bring a second income, out of the home where they should be teaching children morals.

Politicians are only concerned with being reelected, because we have all been so beaten down, it is difficult to even get up anymore, let alone stand tall. Even a totally blind, 100% disabled, service-connected, veteran, medical officer is ridiculed and no longer supported when seeking justice as he attempts to make a living. When law enforcement loses the support of the decent, voting, tax-paying public, their cause is lost. Does the church, the schools, the political parties, law enforcement actually believe they can depend on the criminal element to support them?

Alexander Solzhenitsyn said, “Russia failed because Russia forgot God.” Let me speak as did Emile Zola, “dare to tell the truth, as I have pledged to tell it, in full, since the normal channels of justice have failed to do so.” I have earned the right to tell the truth, I may be the last one on Earth who believe in the justice of God, but one thing I know, the justice of God will always prevail. “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25)

Settle

“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Psalm 119:89)

There are some things that are settled forever, the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119, settles God's message to us, there is nothing to be added, you add at your own risk (Revelations 22:18). One young man working for me, a Mormon, knew little about the Bible, he said, “I know about the book of Mormon.” Another young man working for me said, “I study only the Jehovah's witness material.” You may study the cults, Mary Baker Eddy, Ms. White, any other books, any other references, listen to any expositor, but you are to wise to stay with the inspired, inerrant Word of God. I have learned much from uninformed, misinformed preachers of the Gospel...Dr. Jean Scott, Mr. Harold Campen, Tex Mars, Peter Peters, etc. I never went into another doctor's office that I did not learn something, someone was doing something good or bad. You learn more from your mistakes, than you do of your successes.

There is nothing wrong with history, history of the world, history of civilizations, there is nothing wrong with travel, studying the great cities and museums of the world. But, as I have said to many graduating classes, I have traveled the world, it is not necessary for you to do so, I can tell you without fear of contradiction that the greatest country in the world is America. I heard young people all over the world tell me how much they wanted to come to America. At a university in China, the students begged me for books...most young people want to learn, want opportunity, I have little time or patience for young Americans who throw their lives away.

It is settled, America was the greatest experiment in human civilization, tragic, many yield for change. It is settled, the Bible, all world history converges to one point on the map, the land which God called to Abraham, the first Jew, in 4,000 BC. The small strip of land now called Israel, the small strip of land where God himself lived for thirty three years. Jesus, his mother, his earthy father, John the Baptist, none of his disciples would have stood out in a crowd, they were ordinary people.

I have visited Israel many times, they are mostly ordinary people. I was in the Hilton hotel in Jerusalem, the American comedian Totie Fields was also staying there, by then she was already confined to a wheelchair. I had been telling her about my experience trying to get to Hebron, to see the burial site of Abraham and Sarah, she said, “Dr. Morris, what is wrong with these people.” I said, “one word: religion...two sons, Isaac and Ishmael.” I said, “it is so simple, there must be a two state solution, Israel and Palestine. If Israel allows Arabs to dominate, then Arabs will take over because of their birthrates, just as they have taken over Europe.” There is an Arab in the Knesset, an Arab on the Israeli Supreme Court, there are now 1,500,000 Palestinians in Gaza. Seeking peace, Israel gave Gaza to Hamas, 25 synagogues were immediately destroyed. Today, the stores of Gaza are full of food, yet, Hamas continue to shell Israel, just as Hezbollah from Lebanon continues his warfare. It is believed that 20,000 Hezbollah fighters are ready to invade Israel after being shelled with 800 rockets everyday. Israel has been preparing to defend itself since it's beginning in 1948.

On the Larry King television program Prime Minister Netanyahu said he looks forward to studying the Bible on Sunday with his son. The nation of Israel is 80% secular, most do not believe in God, what a tragedy since they are the apple of God's eye (Genesis 12), the richest history in human history. What a tragedy that American Jews are Democrats, voting 78% for Obama, promoter of the abortion holocaust.

If you were to take a large sheet of white paper and wrap it around a basketball, and you poke a hole on that large piece of paper with a pin, that is the comparison of the Jewish populations of Israel compared to the Arabs that surround them, Arabs (Muslims) who want their absolute destruction.

I was in Israel twice before the 1967 war, there is only one nation which Arabs hate more than Israel, and that is America. When will this knowledge sink in, when will American politicians realize that the scene is already set for World War 3? On this blog, I have written much about Israel because the history of Israel so controls the history of the world.

Any time anyone tells you to prove God, just say, “one word will prove everything: 'Jew'”. And yet, in the pulpits in America and around the world, ignorant professors and “possessors” of Christianity still preach “grace”, “church”, and “body” from the Gospels. Christ and his disciplines kept the Jewish law, it is from Romans to Philemon, that we, as gentiles, find grace through faith...”Christ in us, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:28).

Mark Twain said that India was the ultimate travel destination. Each time I was in India and many other unusual places, I was astounded by religious practices such as the sex acts on the ancient temples at Khajuraho and Amritsar, in Calcutta where mothers were throwing their babies off the top of temples, trying to appease a Hindu god. Much like the ancient philistines who threw their babies into mystical fires, or the early Romans who put their babies by the roadsides where horses hooves could crush them. The holocaust of baby-killing is nothing new, sexual perversion, sorcery, such as you would find in the most jaundiced, wealthy areas of American life.

God's Word is settled in handling these things, his vengeance towards those who practice and promote these things, and even those who support such horror. Think of the horror of old people in Africa, when family can no longer take care of them, being taken into the bush, to be disposed of by wild animals. Or the Inuit (Eskimos), putting their aged on ice floes (icebergs) and sending them out to sea. Thank God you are in Christian America, even though it is popular now to hate God, to be an atheist. I have never known a poor atheist or a female atheist.

Cowboys and Indians

Reared in the Hinterlands, very much away from civilization, we never had any contact with law enforcement. I understand that now law enforcement officers visit the schools, talk about illegal drugs, even though law enforcement are known for having much to do with their trafficking. In many large cities, police corruption, especially dealing with illegal drugs is more the norm than the exception. I will not go into the accusations made against the CIA and their participation in bringing illegal drugs into America via Mexico.

Anyway, the only law enforcement I can remember as a youngster were two uncles, one an eastern NC sheriff, another uncle, his brother, a member of the secret service. Since my relatives were all Republican, all law enforcement as well as other bureaucrats, there would be no reason for law enforcement to seek out my relatives about anything.

My first real contact with law enforcement was with a highway patrolman, Patrolman Wilkie, I was then a university student selling books door to door in Brunswick, Pender and other counties. I stayed at a home in Shallotte, where the highway patrolman also stayed, room and board. Perhaps, he was trying to shock a young student, a Christian boy with some character, but he told me how let on young woman whom he stopped for speeding, tourists passing through on Highway 17 S, the girl could pay her fine and go on her way without getting arrested if she submitted to sex with him in the woods. This evidently went on everyday, he seemed to despise everyone, especially the people he was extorting. He was pleasant to the local politicians.

I was just an uninitiated, poor student, I did not particularly fear him, but I did not feel compelled to engage in any controversy, then as well as now, it is a matter of survival. Some men think they look big by cursing, some men think they look big by immoral acts. Later in life, as with the highway patrolmen in Bennetsville, SC who tried to shake me down as a young army officer, just returning from the war. The officer stopped me outside Bennetsville and must pay him the fine. I told him I would have to write a check, he took me to a service station where he tried to get a man to accept my check. I reported the incidents included the time, place, officer's name, and the name of the service station. I have reported worse recently, nothing is ever done. The honor among thieves, as well as political jobs, is in protecting one another.

Sargent Buster Yost, from the local police department came to my house one day in uniform, he told me that the chief did want me walking on the streets. He said, “everyone knows you have money, everyone knows you are blind, the chief wants you to stay in your house with the doors locked.” You see, if you know something like this is going to happen, you can get your recorder set up ahead of time. I would like to have recorded that a totally blind, 100% disabled, service-connected veteran is not allowed to walk on the streets where he pays taxes of 6 figures a year, while criminals are allowed to roam the streets. You see, until then, since I need sunlight and exercise, I would walk around the block each day, I was familiar with every hole in the sidewalk. People were accustomed to my walking around the block, and a few would come out to spend some time with me. I stayed on the sidewalk, because so many of these fine, ecological citizens walk their dogs toward the river each day, and since dogs do not defecate in their own yard, their dogs are trained to defecate in the yards of their neighbors around the block. It is difficult for a blind person not to step in such, but dogs, like criminals are entitled more decency than taxpaying, blind veterans.

This week, Governor Perdue met with the leadership of the state highway patrol in NC. Recently, highway patrolmen have been accused of drunk driving, animal abuse, having sex on duty, profiling women during traffic stops, and inappropriate text-messaging, we have heard it all before. Governor Perdue said, “there will be zero tolerance for bad behavior, if you betray your oath to uphold the law or betray the patrol code of conduct, you will be dismissed.”

Lets face it, you do not get a government job in NC unless you are a Democrat...even to driving a school bus. Judicial watch published the ten most corrupt politicians in Washington, DC...all Democrats except for one, the Republican senator from Nevada. Four, including the President, and members of the cabinet. Think of North Carolina, Dr. Black, Representative Wright, Representative Ballance, and others, all Democrats, all in prison. It is my conviction, from having watched NC politics for most of my life, if all NC politicians who were criminals were in prison, government would come to a stop, and this would probably be good for the public.

Sitting at a table, at the hotel Sir Walter in Raleigh, forty years ago, Governor Sanford and US Representative LC Fountain said to me, “North Carolina will always vote Democrat, Democrats control the blacks, the teachers, the unions, the liberal minorities such as gays, academics, Jews and most people who get government checks.” This is proven to be true every time, every election.

Face it, bullies and thugs become law officers, one tazed a man recently for not wearing his seat belt, one tazed a pallbearer at his father's funeral, one killed an inmate at the local jail, one shot a student in the head behind his own front door, then shot his dog. The local county is paying millions to settle this lawsuit. One tazed a man seven times, the officers said, “the man would not stop moving after he hit the ground.” The federal government through homeland security is laying down federal rules, it has become an us-against-them attitude with law enforcement. As in Germany, before WW2, they first came for the gays, then the gypsies, then the disabled, then the academics, and when the came for the rest, there was no one to defend them. Mark Twain said, “nothing improves a mind like travel.” It would be good for some politicians to travel around the world and see what happens in police-controlled countries.
