Ashes
That ocean in which all true delights and pleasures meet!
(John Flavel)
Christ is the very essence of all delights and pleasures--the very soul and substance of them. As all the rivers are gathered into the ocean, which is the meeting-place of all the waters in the world--so Christ is that ocean in which all true delights and pleasures meet!
"Yes, He is altogether lovely! This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend!" Song of Songs 5:16
It is beyond the comprehension of this writer that mankind so casually, defiantly, ignores the very word of God, the manufacturer's handbook of creation, the source book of all knowledge. Men get so interested when an archeologist discovers the char of some ancient pottery, jubilant in historical markings yet, words from the very hand of God, go unnoticed.
Just think, William Tyndall, burned at the stack in London in 1536 simply because he had translated God's word into English 10 years before in 1526. The sacred ashes of Tyndall's body washed into the Tim's River, from the Tim's to the ocean and from that ocean to all the waterways of the world. Such has been God's word seeking passage into the hearts of man through many translations over many years. There is hardly a village in the world which The Bible has not reached.
God's magnificent design in the genome of plants-trees-foliage of every type. Just think, every element-mineral essential for growth, found in every plant and animal from the good earth, each element, its absolute property, its absolute atomic weight, its absolute color. When you put a log on the fire, note the colors as the various elements in the wood burn. In the analytical chemistry course, studying unknowns, you can actually identify a particular element by its color. The ancients knew the value of the healing qualities from the minerals and even President Jefferson soaked his feet each day in ash water. I always recommended soaking feet in ash water, involving any pathology of the feet.
The Hill of Golgotha, place of the scull, place where our blessed Lord was crucified, in spite of the artist, attempting to make it nice, was an awful place...passed crucifixions, body parts, flies, spilled blood. But, like no other wave in the ocean, washing on the shore, there was no other crucifixion, no other spilled blood, like that of our savior. Again, the artist has been so delicate in covering the private area of our Lord. The artist does not show his stripes-brokenness. So awful, even God put a shroud of darkness over the scene.
And to think, year 2012, laughing, clapping, pagan Democrats, in a convention hall wanting to erase the name of God from their political platform-belief...wanting to erase the eternal city, name of Jerusalem, from their political structure.
Many will remember this when, according to every promise-prophecy which to this minute has been fulfilled in God's word, many cities-play things of man-bodies will be turned into the cremated ashes from disobedience. After all, as unpopular as the word, a word which you do not hear used even in the pulpit, sin is disobedience.

If we say that we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
