Bottomless Pit

            Sin is a pit without a bottom. We simply refuse to learn, generation after generation. The two first children born in the world, first human beings with navels, twin brothers, one killed the other (Genesis 4:8). The first time the word sin is used in The Bible,  (Genesis 4:7), God talks with Cain about him killing his brother Abel.  Of all sin, perhaps none greater than murder. Yet, this very day, thousands of the most innocent, those who never had a chance to live, murdered in America's abortion holocaust. The political party with the most members, democrats, this is their main accomplishment. Surely these people have forgotten, "For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off" (Psalm 37:28).  Inconceivable that America, so blessed by God would elect a leader, not in the least afraid of God in his judgment.

            For thousands of years, same men had known that God is very careful about what He says, his every word. After all, all he had to do was speak, and nothingness became somethingness. God does not speak an idol word. The pure in heart (Matthew 5:8) , those who know the purity of prayer, very careful in their words, delight thyself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of the heart" (Psalm 37:4). The real Christian is more concerned with the desires of God's heart than the desires of one's own heart.

            This writer was blessed to have known and loved both grandmothers. One grandmother, coming from the poorest of homes, said, "If I get nothing in this world before death, I will get more than I deserve." When thinking of her, I see her coming down the long pathway that went through the large family farm, always with a hoe (There was always some chopping of weeds or perhaps even a snake). She had patches of garden plants everywhere, and in the apron which she always wore, she was always carrying an apron full of vegetables (beans, tomatoes, corn, etc.) Dirt roads, large plantation house, to which she was brought as a bride, she said she picked cotton the day after her marriage, she was so thankful for a wash house (a house in which the washing of clothing was done, bricked in wash pot, well with hand pump close by). She had been raised in a home with outside washing facilities, "Lye" soap, my mother and grandmother thought that boxes of laundry detergent were the greatest inventions of the world. They particularly liked, rinse so white, "Duz." This writer has little patients with today's girls who find difficulty in using automatic washing machines inside with dryers. Most have never seen a wire close line or clothes pins and, the work clothes on the farm were so dirty, cleaned with a scrub board, boiled in hot lye water but, this writer has seen African natives in rivers, hundreds at a time, beating their dirty clothing on rocks. This writer has seen the professional Dhobi's in India who hand washed other people's clothing. This writer has seen hundreds of outside lines with laundry drying. "The Lord of hosts is our help" (Psalm 46:7, 46:11). 

            Only God can forgive sin, the world's only answer to the bottomless pit, the hole that leads directly to Hell.

            I do not know what type church most attend, what's taught or preached. Basic Christianity, triune God, the word, the way, the truth, the life, the light. In every way, God is the light of the world. "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (John 8:12). We simply refuse to learn, grateful for our blessings, at the church house, school house, court house, we want shortcuts, to compromise-bargain with God. With many things, there are no negotiables-particularly the sin of murder. Death is so permanent. Our ancestors were very familiar with death. Death has become so sterile-impersonal in the modern world. Some families do not even look at the deceased family member, just a matter of getting the final arrangements over with.

            Science has helped us to live longer. It started at a public schoolhouse where a county nurse, her little fuel pot sterilizing needles, making sure each child had a smallpox scar. Then, the country health officer, every country cross roads, usually country store, giving inoculations for diphtheria. This writer was at the University when the first public health courses were started in old WWII type buildings. A totally new science, not that well received by medicine or nursing.  If it had not been for foreign educated doctors, there would not have been staffs for county public health offices and certainly not state hospitals. The difference in one lifetime, today everything public health related and, Medicaid, Medicare, all broke and with Obamacare, total annihilation of all tax supported budgets....1.3 trillion dollar deficit this year, 55 trillion dollar deficit in the future, only 51% paying taxes, the middle class shrinking. In this present political campaign, we become nauseated hearing about jobs. Have the crooked politicians forgotten that through Nafta, Cafta, they sent all the jobs to foreign countries?

            America is rapidly becoming Greece, where Greece unemployment is 24%. Only 5% of the American population owns stocks. 82% of the American population own nothing. Banks are loaned money by the federal reserve for almost nothing and then the banks loan the money back to the federal reserve for a profitable rate of interest.

            There was a time in America was everyone wanted everyone to prosper. Before the main aim of politicians was to get every dime possible out of every person.  There was even a time when merchants were happy to see customers because their profits came from customers. Now, the merchant must dance to tune of every type regulation, license, permit, as well as see his customers pocket's picked by parking meters. There is no way the merchant can stay in business, competing with super foreign outlets selling merchandise made by slave labor. This writer saw the slave labor-industry of China and other communist-police state countries. This was many years ago and no one paid any attention to what I said. I warned that the world would be smothered with merchandise produced by slaves. To control and depend on the votes of unions, American made products are no longer available. Just wait until the chaos develops between the super discount stores, chief outlet for foreign made-American owned industry and the unholy alliance-coalition between Muslim phoneticism-Communist idealism and the few world capitalists left just trying to survive as they are taxed to support public programs (entitlements-deficits-interest payments).  The only growth in public-government jobs, the people who hold these public-government jobs must be paid by the producing class.

            I never go in a store but recently a friend, after lunch on a Sunday, took me into a cheap outlet store, searching for cheap underwear and a belt. He said the store was filled with people, mostly Mexicans who he assumed were non-citizens, non taxpayers. Not just the sins of rape, theft or murder, but the sins of pride-envy-lust-anger, have made a hole and we keep digging.
