Obama Phone
I'm old
enough to remember Hattie McDaniel, who played Mammy in Gone With the Wind,
the first black woman to receive an academy award. I still remember her saying,
on receiving the award, "I want to be accredit to my race."
Not because
of skin color, but superb acting ability, we enjoyed Moms Mabley on the Ed
Sullivan Show, LaWanda Page on Sanford and Sons.
I don't
believe there is a black woman in the world who has received more notoriety,
she was not acting, just reacting to a reporters question, when she talked
about her Obama phone. I do not believe
I have ever seen any "news" issue broadcasted on every type program.
Perhaps it is because the average hard working, tax paying, God fearing
American, is still bewildered by Mr. Obama's welfare dependant entitlements to
people of his choosing.
Each day is
a blessing, every hour, every minute, which will never happen again, can not be
recaptured. To buy votes, we heard democrats promote midnight basketball.
Entitlements in a lockbox for safety. To keep the near 50% of the population
who are welfare dependant from being embarrassed by food stamps, now plastic
cards are being used.
When my
ancestors landed on the New Jersey shore, aboard the Good Ship Kent in 1677,
all they sought in this new world of opportunity was the right to work-provide
for their families. Many had been buried at sea on the hard trip across the Atlantic. I have in my possession, papers written with a quill pen, about these
events. Their crude housing was mostly a large chimney, fireplace for warmth
during the hard winter. I have here in this room the large cast iron fireplace
cooking pot which hangs from chains down over the fire and from which all food
was dished out. They had endured enough government-tyranny controls which even
extended to their faith. They wanted freedom. There is a tremendous difference
in patriotic freedom under God and the idols of nationalism. In the 230 years
of American history we have learned about the BUYING OF VOTES, whether cell
phones, cash for old cars, subsidized housing.
This writer
was raised on a dirt road (roads which land owners themselves provided from
early paths through woodlands, enabling early mail carriers-even early school
busses, to give the root aments of a civilization to an ambitious country). On
the farm were I was reared, my ancestors before me, after moving and founding Morristown New
Jersey, there were no power-telephone-waterlines.
Like their homes and barns, they built their own churches and schools. To this
day, most RESPONSIBLE citizens do not expect or want government largess in the
name of vote buying.
I can not
think of a better example, though personal, than this writer. Small country
school which both parents attended, 13 in my graduating class, working my way
through eight years of professional, University education, jumping through all
the hoops for board certification, and military commission under the draft
doctors law (during the Korean "police action"). Now, after these
years of study and training, a totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected
medical officer veteran, never able to get even a WHITE CANE or TALKING WATCH
from the government who "supposedly" love its veterans so much.
Recently, this housebound-cancer patient has been unable to even get
prescription medication from the veterans administration. This veteran lives
alone, at 82 years of age takes care of himself completely, has never been able
to get anyone from any social agency to respond in any way. My telephone, like
my clothing, furniture, all purchased second hand (thrift shops). Please do not
consider me a victim. There are 126 thousand buried on foreign soil, to say
nothing of the thousands buried in the soil of their homelands, who were too
valuable for this earth, who like saints who spread the gospel, "the world
is not worthy" (Hebrews 11:38). The
shallow-faithless church, like the paid off profiteers at the state house,
court house, and even school house, do not understand the gospel or the
patriot.
We are not
stuck where we start. From humble beginnings, men and women of character, built
a great nation, a super power. Many believe that God is impressed-blessed by
their casual worship of Him. He does not
need us, we need Him. He could put his nature into rocks or monkeys if he
desired, the genome of all flora, fauna, even rocks fit his design. Mere
mortals have attempted to make a beggar of God. Even those who are not heathen,
begged to believe on Him, to give time, talent, treasure to Him....the one who
gives all.
God kept
His chosen people, the Jews, redeemed from slavery, in a wilderness for 40
years, to "humble" them. Most had rather learned humility in a land
of milk and honey. There must be a system-structure-organism for everything.
The entire Old Testament is a history of these people, blessings when they
obeyed, curses when they disobeyed AND, we think we will get by with our
decadence....abortion and euthanasia (53 million unborn babies killed since
1973-92% off all black babies born to unwed mothers-50% of all white babies
born to unwed mothers). A slap in the face of all mighty God, same sex marriage
(the church, believers in God, the bride of Jesus Christ, everything in God's
word, everything in the sociology book, declares normality to children with mothers
and fathers).
On the
downward slide of any nation, any individual, there are sign posts along the
way. The individual, lack of prayer, attempting to follow Jesus from a
distance, more interested in popularity-political correctness, than eternity in
Heaven with God. With nations, downward slide, the signpost of social and
political decadence, economic betrayal, military hyperbole in the killing of
innocent-robbery of the tax payer. Liberty
in thought-actions replaced by control. With academic, welfare dependant,
prisoners of addiction and actual prison cells, those who have never
accomplished anything, have the same vote more expenditure on themselves than
the earners, we know that the pretenders of this world are in charge. One of my
college friends was amazed that my family had prayer and Bible reading before
our meals. Quietly, sincerely to me, he said, "I know I have been raised
in a home of pretenders. When I watched my parents follow my dead sisters
casket to an open grave, going through all the motions and rituals of the
burial, I knew they were pretending. My sister and I had been raised in a home
where God was never mentioned, where we never ate together at the table, (more
or less like hogs-would grab something and go sit in front of the television).
My parents pretended at church but made no pretention any other place. My
sister died knowing her family hypocrisy."
Idols given
for votes, even cell phones, just another form of political decadent hypocrisy.
