Diogenes
Within the
writings of the Greek philosopher Diogenes, we find the beginnings of thought
concerning the systematic structure of the physical world.
Whether
Shakespeare, Homer, or one yet to be born, the hazing quandary of life as we
turn and twist our minds through behaviorism, yet to be defined.
This week
is dignity week in England.
Dignity like integrity are lost words in most vocabulary.
America
recently, at great expense, sent a rover probe to Mars. IF an E.T (extra
terrestrial) better, I.T (intelligent terrestrial) were to arrive here FROM
MARS, how could things on earth be explained? For instance, America,
350,000 church houses (people, in conflict, pretending to worship unable to explain
what they believe). Thousands of public school houses dedicated to education
(many parents preferring to keep their children at home so they can get an
education instead of entertainment). Hundreds of prisons (more prisoners than
any other industrialized nation). Hospitals-nursing homes (more money spent on
sick people than any other industrialized nation, body care, sick care, totally
controlled by Big pharma corporations). Food
establishments of every type, restaurants, fast foods (26 million with
diabetes, 100 million pre-diabetic. This one disease will cost America $3.5
trillion dollars by 2020, a disease almost unknown 100 years ago). The scariest
disease in the world, cancer, caused by radiation, treated by
radiation...caused by chemicals, treated by chemotherapy (chemicals)....one
third of the population with cancer. And so we could continue, a population
enslaved to taxation. The question, churches, hospitals, schools, universities,
is it all just a waste of money? Would our fellow universalist-another planet
think we are crazy?
Our visitor
from Mars traveled 33.9 million miles to investigate earth. But, the longest
distance in the world is the 14 inches from man's brain to man's heart. The
heart is referred to more times in literature and music than any other
word...863 times in The Bible. The depository of the world's problems lay
within the recesses of the heart, treason of oneself. Even Cicero said that a nation can survive
anything except internal treason. Just as toxicity will destroy the physical
body, so the blackened forces of sin (with which you wrestle each day, Ephesians
6, will destroy the mind), eventually your own body and lead to the destruction
of everyone around you.
The first
thing turned on in most homes, the last thing turned off at night, the
television, infested with every sinful act Satan can produce. Like tarot cards,
pornography (68 million porno searches on the internet each day...secretive-spiritual,
most want it kept strictly within their own mind), addictions of every type,
alcohol, both legal and illegal drugs, superstitions, tobaccos (I was at my
mother's only brothers house before he died, chewing tobacco-spitting in a can
yet he considered himself a Christian while killing himself with poison), demons
of every type, in the world. Most of those possessed do not realize their infestation,
healers-palm readers, believers in astrology, envy, revenge, pride, gluttony, sexual
lust, filthy jokes, laziness, cheating, stealing, idolatry, abuse of children,
abuse of animals, political and other decadence of every type, unethical
business practices, sin of every type which must be exercised from the heart if
you ever expect to see Heaven. God was not joking when he told us that the pure
in heart would see Him (Matthew 5:8).
God does not joke about the purity of prayer. God is not a bellhop, just around
when you need Him. Your body is a temple, not a dumpster and certainly not a
toilet where you can keep your heart filled with the debris of the Satanic
world. To show just how rotten our hearts have become, one of my secretary's
told me about a well known prostitute who sat on the same pew on which she sat
in her church. She knew that the preacher had a relationship with the
prostitute and GOD EXPECTS THIS TYPE THING TO BE EXCUSED. "The heart [is]
deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it" (Jeremiah 17:9)?
It is a
historical problem, God destroyed the first civilization about 5,000 B.C. Every
live person drowned, except one family and the animals he chose to save (Noah's
great flood). God started all over, first with a chosen people called Jews, and
we have a complete history of that story. Over and over, people have been
destroyed for sin such as those in the city of Sodom. Do you actually think that our friend
from Mars, or anyone else with good sense, could think that things can get much
worse? We have been warned about the perils of Hell. Every time you ride past a cemetery, you know
that death is sure, not where or when, but sure.
The price
for your redemption has already been paid. The battle has been won, paid in
full on a cross, 2,000 years ago. It is possible to be optimistic, a gift to
the chosen-elected-predestined. To the rest, good luck.
A shoe
manufacturing company sent a sales rep to Africa
to sell shoes. They sent another to South America,
same mission, to sell shoes. The one in Africa called, bring me home, people in
Africa do not wear shoes. The representative
in South America, phoned the same day. Send me
help, people in South America do not wear
shoes. We can sell many shoes here. It is all in the mind. Diogenes had it
right.
