Cat Food on
Crackers
"Lean on Me when you have no strength to stand.
When you feel you're goin' under, hold tighter to my hand.
Lean on me when your heart begins to bleed
when you come to the place that I'm all you have,
then you'll find I'm all you need.
-"Lean On Me" hymn
God's word
is God's word, sovereign-inherent its prophecies-promises to this minute
"forever settle in Heaven" (Psalm
119:89). It took God 1,500 years to dictate his book, not one word can be
questioned. We know that most of the world does not want God interfering in
their business. This writer has associates, even family members, for whom he hesitates
to pray because he knows that they do not want God in their lives.
Until America, even
the 33 years that Jesus was on earth, nations ruled by Kings and tyrants, "supposedly"
divine rule. On cavalry, the focal point in world history, the cross, horizontal
bar, history of the world before Christ, history of the world after Christ-the vertical
bar, veil of the temple rent, top to bottom. Man now in direct relationship
with God.
"Born
again", righteousness through the spirit of God captivating the believer
(old man dead to sin and rejection), God seeing the righteousness of Jesus in
us, Jesus becomes our life (Colossians
3:3).
"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not,
because it knew him not" (1 John 3:1).
The only real freedom a person
can know is the liberty found in the new birth AND, the trip is up to you, led
by the spirit within you. For many of us, the disabled, the poor, the infirmed,
the road can be difficult-almost impossible. God put shoes of iron and brass on
his "chosen" when they left bondage heading for the promise land.
Thy shoes [shall be] iron and brass; and as thy days, [so shall] thy
strength [be] (Deuteronomy 33:25).
He knew the trip would be hard.
You need more than flip flops, bed room shoes, even combat boots, "as thy
days, so shall thy strength be." He knows that his sheep hear his voice
and will follow him (John 10:27). In
my lifetime (age 82), I have witnessed the best and worst the world has to
offer. Traveling the world (eight round the world trips, passport stamped in
157 countries), I have seen poverty that the world could never comprehend,
decadence beyond description.
God wanted
me to sense the markets of the world, the center of life in every civilization.
Africa, Asia, peasants taking their well
prepared foods to market for sale. God has made arraignments for this blind man
to sense the world, sounds, smells from the poverty of a tobacco farm in
Eastern North Carolina, he knew that I had seen my parents dress-press tobacco
for the auction market (taken advantage of by unethical warehousemen), seeing
them wash-prepare eggs, vegetables from the farm to the market. In India-Nepal,
a peasant woman with her butter beans, etc. on a blanket in front of her, a "holy
cow" defecating on her market investment on which she depended. In Hindu
culture-religion, same penalty for hitting a cow as hitting a human being.
20th
century Christians, spoiled-playing church, God knew that I knew what had
happened with my ancestors who had arrived in 1677 to build a life for their
family. 19th century, before travel-photography-public education, the
difficulty of finding a mate to marry, my mother's mother and her sisters
hardly knew the young men who asked their father's for them in marriage. My
grandmother, taken from her home to my grandfather's home, by marriage, picked
cotton on the plantation the day after marriage. Early 20th century, most of
the American population on farms, lives of STRUGGLE. This writer's
secretary-driver-seeing eye assistant in all my activity, went with me to clean
and check my office buildings(complex). Always, first to a fast food place for
breakfast. She was young, black, but we enjoyed one another's company. She
wanted me to meet her boyfriend who had much curiosity about an old, blind,
Veteran, multimillionaire who would still get down on his hands and knees to
clean floors in his buildings. He was wide eyed with questions: How I got
started, etc. all the time sharing with me, his own background. He came from
the same retched poverty, from which you never recover, with which I had known
not only personally, but had seen on streets all over the world. He said,
"My parents ate dog food but felt that their children-more tender, more
delicate, should eat cat food. It seemed to have been more palpable-easier on a
cracker." This young black man seemed anxious to learn from me but I would
bet every dollar in my pocket (if I were a betting man) that they both voted
for a Muslim-Marxist President who will take, if the sissy's in congress do not
stop him, this great nation into absolute Godless-poverty driven-communism.
Traveling
the world, the greatest tragedy I saw in the world was not what the industrial
greed of what war had done to human beings but what Godless communism does to
human beings. The greatest communist of them all, Nikolai Lenin said,
"Dead men walking." God does not mess around. Most pulpits-pews
filled with saboteurs of God's message. Only an animal without blemish, cut up
in small pieces, so not to miss any imperfection, could be a burnt offering a
sweet savor to God. The sacrificial lame had to be the most perfect in the
flock (Leviticus 1:9, Ephesians 5:12, 2
Corinthians 2:16, etc). Today's tares, agnostics, skeptics, who have taken
over churches, nations, would, like Judas, when one woman broke an alabaster
box of expensive ointment over our blessed Lord say, "WHAT A WASTE" (Matthew 26:7-8). Today, 30,000 Christians in concentration
camps, North Korea.
More Christians persecuted for their belief in Christ than any other time in
history. IF Jesus bribed the church, was serious about the powers of darkness
in the world (Ephesians 6:12), there
would be unceasing prayer. Then, God would use his great magnifying glass and
focus all the light for good he could muster (He is omnipotent, the host,
stars, galaxies, his word belonged to him) and things would change.
"If my people,
which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my
face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
