Existentialism

Every one of us, whether a young child or a person of advanced age, ages as the same rate. Each of us has 86400 seconds in our day, and in each one of these seconds the United States borrows another $33,330 (about $3.5 billion a day). We are each drawn into an existential world-view, trying to keep from being cynical as we seeking to gain the meaning the life. So many are just indifferent; thank God for those trying to make a difference...service, gratitude, faithfulness.

There are about 4.6 billion cellphones in use around the world, even young children have their own private phone. In the some of the world's poorest countries (Bangladesh, India, etc.) human beings who own nothing else have a cellphone. Members of my family, Southern Baptist missionaries, tell me that in Asia almost everyone is talking on a cellphone.

4 years ago, I asked one of my employees to investigate cellphones for me to purchase. I found out very quickly that a blind person cannot use a cellphone...impossible to dial, it is already hard enough with a regular phone. We did find out that a blind person could use a voice-controlled cellphone. I called the appropriate government authorities at the Federal Communications Commission in Washington and talked with them about blind citizens being left out of the cell phone market. The blind, like other disabled citizens, are supposed to be represented in Washington by these highly-paid organizations, but I have found, in a long life of dealing with these “do-gooder” groups that their only interest is their salary. The lawyers at FCC agreed with me and said they would present the problem to the cellphones manufacturers (Panasonic, Motorola, Nokia). Of course, I knew, as you have already surmised, that nothing would be done because the manufacturers of anything, whether cellphones or hamburgers, are only concerned with the bottom line. This nation's largest minority, the disabled, do not contribute very much to the bottom line of industry. Lets face it, in this world of existentialism, self is the only thing of importance. We live in a “me” culture.

Since 9/11, $4.4 trillion US dollars has been spent on wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya...warfare, bombing, protection of protesters, “all for humanitarian reasons”. The state-controlled news media will not give you a look behind the curtain, where elitists know about the great wealth in mineral deposits found in Afghanistan, the great wealth in oil found in Iraq and Libya, the great wealth in rare earth elements found around the Arctic circle where more and more war activity will be centered. As we find daily in Somalia, Pakistan, North Africa, not boots on the ground, but horrendous war activity involving drones and robots. Certainly, you have also noticed that it is only the mourning of western lives, (so many American lives lost), never an accounting of the lost lives in the decimated country.

In 1935, Major General Smedley Butler wrote the book War Is a Racket. This marine, twice winner of the Medal of Honor, veteran of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine-American war, the Boxer Rebellion, the Banana Wars, the Mexican Revolution, and WWI, this man, unlike many cowardly “history sophisticates” knew about the Americans who enriched themselves from the wealth of the Third Reich. It has been reported about how the Bush family laundered Hitler's money, about Rockefeller-Standard Oil globalist oil dealings, Dupont/ IG Farben (produced synthetics to keep Hitler's war machine going for 5 years, synthetic formulas now in the hands of American industry). It has always been the same, nothing has changed, particularly in time of war, the rich get richer, the sons and daughters of the poor pay the price.

A 20 year old drug dealer in the local prison, a 20 year-old young woman prostitute, selling her body on the street, a middle-aged couple living in government housing, government welfare checks (Medicaid, subsidized lifestyle), the Democrat party makes sure that people like these vote in every election. The vote of these people count just as much as the vote of the decorated, disabled veteran. The hard-working, taxpaying, God-fearing family who have denied self, shopped with coupons, worked their way through college, been conservative in politics, lifestyle, healthcare, are much less likely to gain any of the rewards of citizenship than the illegal alien or those who have thrown their lives away and accepted none of the responsibility or opportunity for living in this democratic republic.

Our ancestors would never believe, even those politicians of yesteryear would never believe, that deceived voters put an impostor in the White House (a man who offered a poorly forged birth certificate, no trace of college transcripts, using a social security number issued to another man in 1890, false identity even with the house he professes to own in Chicago). Throughout Biblical and secular history, there has been a paper trail of political corruption. But, just think, Judicial Watch's 10 most corrupt politicians in Washington DC (B. Boxer, R. Emanuel, B. Frank, J. Jackson, B. Obama, N. Pelosi, C. Rangel, H. Rogers, M. Waters; all Democrats except for Rogers).

I submit this as irrefutable evidence, I have traveled around the earth 8 times, passport stamped in 157 countries (even a blind person becomes aware of many things): in every totalitarian country, there is a change of class, a grubby feeling. You will note that the people are different in their attitudes, just an instinct of survival. I ask my sighted acquaintances if they can notice a different in the appearance of American towns and cities: lack of upkeep, neglect of the infrastructure, citizens no longer showing pride in dress, appearance, no longer putting forth the best version of themselves. It happens slowly, but it is happening, a metamorphosis right before your very senses. As America becomes a totalitarian-controlled, politically correct, pastorally dysfunctional, indifferent, heartless political entity, we have lost an existential wealth which will be hard to reclaim.

The American dream has gone into a coma, the secular media has become a lying machine, you cannot believe anything you hear, facts or figures anymore. You cannot make decisions from false information. The economy of any person, any entity, any country, is built on confidence, and one does not invest in a person or an industry unless some confidence is shown. If you have confidence in the government of America you need to have your head examined. There is nothing going on in Washington, and most other places that gives one any confidence. I do not know how one survives without faith. Remember, when all else fails, faith is action based on belief, sustained by confidence.

Gold From Heaven

Bing Crosby in his 1936 movie, Pennies From Heaven, had no idea how much a penny would be worth in 50 years. Now, since pennies are so worthless, the poorest among us do not even pick them up off the street, the song should be “gold bars from heaven”.

An ounce of gold is now selling for $1,400 an ounce, there are 438.9 ounces in a standard gold bar, this would make a gold bar worth $614,460. Unless, as many suspect, the gold bars being shipped around the world have a core of tungsten (same weight as Gold), with a plating or veneer of gold. The American national deficit with the accompanying entitlements is now $202 trillion, this means a total of 328,740 pure gold bars must fall from heaven just to pay off the American debt, and keep America in balance.

The problem, many countries in the rest of the world are in worse financial condition than America. Only WWII brought America out of the Great Depression, but it was the fact that the American fiat currency was backed by gold and silver, that the rest of the world was not in a state of financial depression, that America came out as well as she did in spite of the ridiculous policies of FDR and his communist advisers (Vice President Henry Wallace, Harry Hopkins, Eleanor, etc.)

In her newspaper column, My Day, Eleanor Roosevelt supported every Democrat, liberal, communist cause she could find. So it has been every minute of everyday since the FDR New Deal which has turned out to be a “raw deal” (movie featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger) for the average American, certainly including the misguided Democrats, who the Democrats are supposed to represent: poor, blacks, union workers, putting a misguided trust into a political party that has sold them down the river. Particularly, North Carolina with the boot of the Democrat party on the throats of the tenant farmers, cotton mill workers, segregated blacks for 120 years, under the guise of Josephus Daniels of the Raleigh News and Observer (Democrat bible). The people who most needed help from government were ostracized and pulverized by the government for which they blindly voted.

It would have been easy to drive through any southern town (they all looked the same), observe the big houses on the hill, names of department stores, banks, industrial establishments, corporate law offices, and know who was in charge, the blue-blood families, corporate heads, all Democrats. They kept the enslaved, small houses across the tracks, at the bottom of the hill, while they represent them in the legislature, on school boards, and every other way in the secular community. The elitists never entered the churches of the working man, a slight chance their children might meet in the public school. The legislature, white, male, Democrats, not one woman, one black, one Republican passed laws which kept the blacks who voted for them in the rear of the bus, and using separate facilities of every type. The blacks and poor tenant farmers and mill workers who vote for these slavemasters were not allowed to even use the bathroom in their offices or stores. There was never any doubt about who was in charge in the community, and much to my amazement, it persists even to this day, enabled by law enforcement who fear for their jobs, judiciary who fears for their jobs, educators who fear for their jobs, even their denominational leaders and pastors who'd rather please the dominating political forces in their area. More concern with what the elitists “think” of them, than what God “knows” about them.

In most places, there is usually an awakening, the greatest awakening since USSR was resorted back to a Russian republic, the discovery by the people, especially the young people of the thuggery inflicted on their country, their parents, themselves, particularly by law enforcement. Today, the biggest problem in Russia is revolt against law enforcement, police, there is a hatred against police not unknown even in the depths of totalitarianism. America is destined to witness this same resistance against the thugs who are being hired by TSA, CIA, FDA and other government agencies who are supposed to keep Americans in line... jumping through the hoops laid down by lawmakers.

Yesterday, Erskine Bowles, of the President's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, said, “Americans must face the facts of the deficit.” Erskine, now President of the University of North Carolina system, one of the “good ol' boys” of Democrat, liberal politics is evidently more blind than this writer, he is evidently more deaf than a brick. Like his father's “skipper”, who I knew, where has he been all his life? As a member of the board of directors of General Motors, as one who drowned the UNC system with money, as one who never saw a communist or con-man he did not like. Where has he been all his life? If any Democrat had told Erskine to jump in the river, we would have heard water splash. If any Democrat had told Erskine to jump in a fire, we would have smelt his clothes burning.

I have been to China three times since President Nixon reopened the place, without charge, I could have told Erskine what was going on in America, the world, in China. China has the entire population of America plus one billion people, all enslaved, working everyday to make “China central” or “Walmart” your heaven here on earth. The savings rate of the average Chinese is 40-50% compared to the American savings rate of 1%. The are 160 cities in China of over one million in population, compared to nine cities in America with over a million in population. Already replacing Japan in supplying America with luxury items, China wants to buy all American industrial might, computer manufacturers, appliances, vehicles. The wealthiest people in China are connected with government, they want their children connected with government, this is the surest sign of success. This is not the only way in which America is compared with China, the wealthiest people connected with government, government involved sociologically with the enslavement of every American life.

Communist China knows what she is doing, knows how to take advantage of friends or enemies, Taiwan is making great investments in Communist China, many of the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises, McDonald franchises in China are controlled from Taiwan. The largest McDonald's restaurant in the world is in Beijing, China, 29 cash registers. The world's largest, fastest cargo ships cross the Pacific, flooding American Walmart stores with Chinese goods, 92% of all their sales. The Rolex watch will become a knock-off (counterfeit, imitation,), big deal, Mr. Obama is freezing federal workers pay for two years. Fact, he has employed more federal workers than any other President, paying federal workers excessively above the same work in the private work-force. Already, one by one, groups are being excluded, just as with the Obama healthcare system, the Obama pension system. Mr. Bowles and his crowd now tells us that we were in a depression for one year before it was recognized, that we have been out of the depression one year before anyone has recognized that either. When will our nation get real, get honest, get the integrity that our forefathers once knew in telling the truth. I have nothing but contempt for a government which will enslave the poor, future generations of children, while telling them that they care for them.

A Spending Diary

Since childhood, this writer has been ridiculed because of his frugal habits of saving money. Don’t we wish that we had sent some politicians and bureaucrats to Washington and other places where power brokers gather who know more about saving than spending. Dr. Franklin said “If you would be wealthy, think of saving as well as getting.” (Benjamin Franklin born in 1706 and died in 1790). Saving money is a state of mind. When one discovers, and it is something you learn early, if you are wise, you cannot invest what you have spent, and it takes money to make money. We have “supposed leaders” in our nation today who can be well described as “big spenders.” They love to spend other people's money, tax money, even though, they with all their political knowledge do not themselves pay taxes (Daschle, Rangel).  I have found, in meeting politicians locally, state wide, and nationally, that most have never worked a day in their lives and that they know nothing about the saving of money. Most come from homes of privilege. The new politicians are products of education grants and the largess of hard-working taxpayers.

Because of their connections, family political contributions, good looks, glib tongues, often lack of character, and many other things that put low men in high places. Our county, state, and federal governments are on the road to disaster.

Early in life, and I have explained on the platform and in writing, I started keeping a spending diary.  If you go to my bedroom right now, you will find a notebook where each day by the date of that day, I list every penny I have spent that day and for what, and if I went to a restaurant the tip is included also. When, at the end of the week or month, you add how much you have spent you will have the discipline to keep from spending.  The credit card should only be used in an emergency or used to verify a purchase in case of a return or misrepresentation. The credit card has been a financial disaster to most citizens much to the joy of the corrupt banking system, who make more money on fees and penalties then anywhere else.

You cannot out give God. It is essential that you recognize early in life that the greatest way you can show your worship is by giving God not just 10% but in my case 50%. As was the case with Elijah and the widow.  “And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:16)  To this moment, every promise and every prophecy of God's word has been fulfilled.  If you want to live along live, (honor your parents, exodus 20).  If God desires you to have wealth, it is His business, GOD IS BOSS. But, it is up to you to not be slothful, to work hard, invest well, prepare for future needs, and learn early in life, as I heard my thrifty mother say so many times, “money does not grow on trees.”

Because of politicians and bureaucrats spending your money which you paid in taxation, it takes every dollar paid in tax just to finance social security, medicare and medicaid. All other expenses of federal government: wars, research, grants...all this money is borrowed...mostly from the country of China. Since President Obama has been in office, the national debt has increased 4.4 trillion dollars, this is more debt than was borrowed from George Washington, first President, until George W. Bush, 43rd President. The national debit is now $14 trillion dollars, this is 14 with twelve zeros. Every American, man woman and child is in debt to the government $45,000. There is no way this debt can be paid, it is predicted that this FICA tax, now 15% of your paycheck will double to the 30% of your paycheck. It is predicted that all retirement funds, entitlements, will be eaten away by the debt. Mark Twain said, “the scripture I cannot understand does not bother me, it is the scripture that I do understand that bothers me.” Gods word tell us to stay out of debt, individually and as a nation.

Self Destruct (2009)

In the television series “Mission Impossible,” the program often started with a scene in which a top-secret message on a tape announced, “This message will self-destruct in five seconds.”  On several radio shows I said to those who had fallen in love with President Obama and were so eager to worship at his altar, “Give him time, he will self-destruct.” He has been in office less than a month and the destruction is in progress.

Like paratroopers “bailing out” of a perfectly good airplane, we are seeing corporate heads, governors (such as the famous Beverly Perdue), lining up like welfare recipients seeking billions from an already bankrupt treasury. Most Americans had never heard the term “trillion.” To them a million dollars was an unimaginable amount of money. Billion has come into our vocabulary just during the last forty years (A trillion is a million million dollars, one trillion, twelve zeros). Do you realize that if you had started spending one million dollars each day on the day that our Blessed Lord was born 2000 years ago, we would still have my lifetime plus other lifetimes spending a million dollars a day in order to reach one trillion dollars? Most Americans, just trying to pay their bills from week to week, cannot even imagine that we have a national debt of nearly twelve (now, fourteen) trillion dollars. And this weekend, as well as next week, these politicians, most of whom have never worked a day in their live, are busy spending your money.

President Obama never had a real job. Amid the corrupt politics of Chicago, he was a community organizer. Here in the South, we refer to a community organizer as one who has “walking around” money to buy votes. His wife, because again of corrupt Chicago politics, made $1,000 a day ($316,000 a year) as a lawyer for a University of Chicago hospital which has stayed in trouble with questionable healthcare lawsuits. It has been reported that this duo who are so anxious to establish socialized healthcare in this country supported this hospital that did not take Medicaid patients.

The new President who promised “change” has surrounded himself with political figures of questionable character, politicians such as Dashiell, Geithner (who joined the US Treasury in 1988 and was previously the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, but after all his years of working with your tax dollars did not know he was supposed to pay tax), Governor Richardson, who has already withdrawn because of his financial problems, and others--lest we forget, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Charlie Rangel who had tax problems with his Dominican Republic property.

This 100% disabled, service-connected, totally blind veteran has never been excused from paying taxes on anything. On the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Normandy invasion, I stood in that French cemetery where 9,700 of America’s bravest are buried. Some years ago, I stood in the cemetery in the Philippines where 17,200 of America’s finest are buried. There are 126,000 dead American veterans buried on foreign soil. These thought this country was worth defending and they, like the 26 million veterans who are still among us, are paying the taxes and suffering the penalties of the corruption that goes on daily in cities, counties, states, and the federal government. In North Carolina, five corrupt politicians, including an NC Congressman, have gone to prison.

When John Edwards, who is no longer the poster boy for the Democrats and who so loved this country and its poor (you remember his Two Americas?), was written by this veteran several times about veterans and other matters of interest to me, he never responded.

Character determines destination. Mr. Edwards’ character has been put on display and I make the prediction that Mr. Obama will become more evident with every decision he makes and I hate to think what will happen with a terrorist attack or a national catastrophe such as an earthquake.

The reality of our lives as we face a new challenge every day and we offer encouragement to parents who have small children is that those who do not have a faith to live by need some encouragement to face not only the problems of individual life, but the life of our nation. Ted Turner, that great philosopher from Atlanta, said, “Christians are losers.” His ex-wife, Jane Fonda, was a supporter of the enemy during the last pacific conflict. Mr. Obama, is probably the most anti-Christian president with his views on abortion and Marxism that we have known, we know that he is a Sunni Muslim, even though he says he is Christian. What is new about that? Church is full of people who pretend to be Christian. When we have governments, we have what governments can do. When we have social services, we have what social services can do. When we have enough Christians in prayer, then we have what God can do. If anything is needed in this country at the present time, it is what God can do.

The Obama Phenomenon is a new book by Ray Coleman, political leader from Illinois. The electoral victory has caused this Baptist, working behind the scenes, to obtain knowledge of President Barrack Hussein Obama’s political trail to victory. He pronounces him a “prophet and the chosen one”. So, as Keats in his poem Ozymandias, Obama can be proclaimed “king of kings”.

Obama thinks himself an emperor...the one without clothes...but, believe me, he is stark naked in spite of the cloak of decency given to him by Coleman and others of ilk. Most men spend the first half of their life building habits which enable them to live their second half with a degree of credibility. Obama's life, to this point, is more a mystery than mastery. Speaking fluent Farsi, reared as a Muslim, little is known of his activities in college or elsewhere. Since no one has been able to prove his place of birth and he has spent millions to protect the truth of his birthplace, he involved himself in Reverend Jeremiah Wright's church in Chicago where he married Michelle Robinson in order to ensure his citizenship. The Wright church and Reverend Wright are in no manner Christian. The church is a nationalistic, political, activist center. In the vestibule of the “church” is the portrait of Harriet Tubman, early black agitator. Obama supposedly spent time at Columbia University but no one there or in the black community around Columbia remembers him. It is believed the Columbia University cover provided him CIA operative expediency in Pakistan.

With the assistance of Communist/social types, commonly called Czars, without congressional approval, he and these political newcomers have presented the country with a budget of 3.8 trillion, exactly double the budget of ten years ago. Strange beyond words to explain officials such as Secretary of the Treasury Geithner, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rangel, former Senator Daschle, and others do not pay the taxes for which they hold others responsible. Catholics such as Pelosi, Biden and Kennedy support his pro abortion policies. The country only collects 2 trillion in taxes so 1.8 trillion must be borrowed, mostly from China, Japan, and other world governments. His impetus during campaign was putting people back to work. The only jobs created to date have been government jobs. Government employees received 60% more pay for the same work than those in private jobs. When you consider the benefits, there is no way that private industry can keep up with government employment, just the reverse of what it was a few years ago. The private sector cannot pay enough tax to support this new generation of government workers. Civil service at one time was a sacrifice. Civil servants have now become civil masters. A parasite or a cancer on a host will suck out all the blood and eventually kill the host...the American tax payer.

It was the private sector which built the country...railroads, subways, the campuses on which colleges and universities stand, the holy dedicated ground first occupied by hospitals.

Obama said we dare not bless those who curse God. Was he speaking of his friends, most of whom are Atheist? Most of us cannot comprehend voters who will support a killer of babies. For a long time now, any time any person tells me he is a Democrat and a Christian I say, “you need to re-evaluate yourself”. One cannot support the Democrat party which promotes the greatest sins of our time, abortion and homosexuality, and still believe that he or she is Christian. I cannot, in good faith, support Baptists in North Carolina who outnumber all other denominations (SBC, FWB etc.) because if it were not for the votes of these Baptists supporting the Democrat party the corruption in Raleigh from over 100 years of Democrat rule, the corruption in the state alcohol beverage control system, the added corruption of the lottery, the embarrassment of such politicians as RC. Soles (longest serving NC Senator), Julia Boseman (self advertised lesbian), Black, Decker, Wright, M. Scott Phipps, and others...all Democrats, would not have been possible.

The federal government now admits that we are in a double dipped depression...that unemployment is over 20%...worse than the great depression. We know the car is heading for the cliff. Get ready, we are about to go over the cliff.

The only winning hand, any time, anywhere, is not to play the game. The Christian church has lost it's way. Smiling and comfortable on padded pews, corrupt politicians like their unconcerned neighbors, feel perfectly at home with the world inside the church. With the cloak of decency provided by Obama the church feels it is courageous enough to face the future without God. Education, like carbon tax science and the health care fiasco is a mockery. Prevention Magazine said recently, “just being positive will add seven years to your life”. I wish I could be more positive and add those years to you. But, we learn to live with our worst fears.

Your “king of kings” is thought to be bi-sexual, we know he speaks from both sides of his mouth, will say anything to get elected, will do anything to stay in power.

Hoping and Figuring

Today, all news reports concerned the Obama budget being presented to Congress. The $3.8 trillion is beyond the comprehension of most Americans. After 15 days laying under the rubble of the Haiti earthquake, the 17 year old college student who was pulled out alive is perhaps the only human being who can talk about the crush of so much weight on life. Every parent should realize the debt with which their children and grandchildren, for many generations, are involved. Statistics is a very bewildering science and the statisticians at the White House, the Treasury Department, and every other federal agency, are just busy “hoping and figuring” that things will not get any worse as far as the economy is concerned.

On each side of the Flood, mankind has faced perilous problems. Those who have finally gotten off the fence, not knowing which way to go, are now standing on the brink of an almost bottomless cliff. From the very beginning, man has sought refuge in a power greater than himself. 95% of the world's archeology has yet to be unearthed but no civilizations have been explored that did not have deities to worship. In traveling the world (8 round the world trips, passport stamped in 157 countries), I have been amazed with religious systems and structures which evidently brought satisfaction to someone. I will never understand how an idol can be carved out of something, the idol worshiped, the excess wood, clay, gold or silver just thrown away.

On one of my trips to Burma I visited the Buddhist shrine caves of Pindaya. In the southernmost Pindaya cave there were 8,000 images of Buddha. As was the case in the temple to Buddha at Kandy, Sri Lanka, the devotees were lined up to view the images. Four men were standing over to the side and they beckoned for me to come over and, in broken English, one asked, “ Are you a Christian?” I said, “I am not Christ-like but I do believe God, I believe in Jesus Christ and I am a Christian.” They understood, smiled broadly and said, “We are Christians.” I made their photograph, shook hands and wished God's blessings upon them and, as always, gave each a business card. Then, much to the consternation of the Communist, Buddhist guard, who inquired about their talking with me, I said, “They wanted to meet an American.” There are more stupas in Burma than there are people. Stupas are religious shrines much like tombstones in our cemeteries. Some very large, some very small, all offered as worship to Buddha, most contain the ashes of a deceased Buddhist. Buddha taught that nirvana is a relief from suffering and a rebirth. There are probably 350 million Buddhists in the world today, mostly in Asia.

In the world's more recent religions, Witchcraft is certainly the fastest growing. From Witchcraft grew the early Grand Lodge of the Masons, a more-or less labor union of early stone cutters who built the cathedrals and temples of western Europe using many of the symbols found in early Egyptian and Judaism. From the Masons came the Mormons. Joseph Smith, considered the founder of the Mormon group, was an outstanding mason and husband of 27 wives. Through a “supposed” prophet, Moroni, and the help of certain tablets, he established the Mormon group which is one of the fastest-growing American denominations. There are an estimated 14 million Mormons in the world today. Because of legalism in the establishment of the state of Utah,and other problems with polygamy, like most religious groups there are several factions.

Charles Taze Russell founded a bible study group in 1876 which has become known as the Jehovah's Witnesses...a rapidly growing cult in American religious denominations. This group now numbers around 7 million...rapidly growing because of their proselytizing efforts. For instance, in the city here where I live, there are 8 Kingdom Halls. I have had several Jehovah's Witness followers work for me. I can tell a male Jehovah Witness as soon as I talk to him for a few minutes...always alert, always extremely likable. Like the Mormon missionaries, they grow because they believe in what they are doing and they carefully prepare themselves for their work. They are convinced, and you don't easily unconvince them.

Most large denominations have spent too much time with Oprah Winfrey as their spiritual advisor, believing nothing themselves (Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, etc.), they are easily led into the entrapment of cult or new age thinking. 75% of all young people reared in the large “Ivy League” denominations leave the church because they only saw hypocrisy in the faith professed. Take note, in the large denominational churches the members want front seats at concerts and athletic events, get real excited about worldly things, but in the church, sit in the rear and generally want to hide from God's presence...in their living, in their giving, in testifying. In the large Protestant, Baptist, non-denominational groups (Joel Osteen, etc.), the atheist or agnostic can feel perfectly at ease in a so-called worship service. As one black preacher told me, “I figure I will hold onto the church just in case there is something to it, hoping for heaven and to escape the wrath of God.” So, we have millions “hoping and figuring” in religion, as well as in patriotism.

The Bible is a Jewish law book. The rest of us (Gentiles) are important only as we affect the Jewish religion, the Jew. The Old Testament prophet, Nehemiah, was the King's cup bearer, the first line of defense between the King and his enemies. In the course of today's royal families, he was the food taster...the one who tasted the King's food first to make sure no one had poisoned him. It is still done with royalty and with people of great power and wealth (King Hussein, late King of Jordan before his son, the present King Abdullah went to the thrown at the death of his father, was said to have had many dead cats in the palace. Cats were used as the food tasters).

The Muslim world, numbering over one billion, will use any form of death (suicide bombers, gas, dogs) to enforce their religion. Muslims figure that they will take over the world through the death of infidels or the conviction of non-believers. Their rapid move into Europe and America, the high birthrate of their children, surely should be defined. For every church building in England which is sold because of non-use, two Muslim mosques are built. There are more Muslims in the United States than Jews. For instance, in Yemen (population 23 million) 50% of the Muslim population is under 15 years of age. There are 48 predominate Muslim countries. I found in traveling through each that the populations were mostly children. I found the same in Mexico, a population of children...in Muslim countries, as predominate Catholic countries, religious zealotry is anti-American and pro-drug culture.

Like our great American bankruptcy (all American systems expected to be bankrupt in eight years), we just “hope and figure” that we are wrong, that our eyes have deceived us...that we really do not understand what we see down the road. Like the new mortgages (pick and pay), you pick to pay interest only, a never ending mortgage of a certain amount ($1 million house, $500-$800 per month as far as the eye can see) or a (hoping and figuring) new mortgage contract every five years. Can one even imagine the lack of sobriety in the financial world...none of the technical graphs work anymore...only disaster seen in the future. Even those with doubts and despair...those who did not trust...are flaying and grasping at the straws of any hope...even in the hope of new age, cults or even Witchcraft.

80% of those in mental hospitals are there because they could no longer figure on hope. FAITH IS A GIFT. There are certain absolutes in the world, regardless of what your college professor told you...Good and Evil...Right and Wrong...Heaven and Hell. Twenty seven times in one book of the Bible, Psalms, “the mercies of the Lord endure forever”. Learn to depend on His mercy, His atonement, His redemption.

Candy Man

The Candy Man is a song from the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The most famous version of this song was sung by Sammie Davis Jr. The song has been used in a number of radio jingles, films and TV shows. The present administration should use this song in advancing its socialist philosophy of the nationalization of financial, insurance, automotive and certainly the universal health care of this nation.

I come from a time in history when candy was a treat. A one cent piece of candy was almost as large as a fifty cent piece of candy today. If the children at my home did not have a penny to go to my cousin's county store to buy a piece of candy, many times, an egg would do, which we would use in trade. Sometimes I could find a hen's nest away from the poultry yard and nests. (Some hens like to venture away from home and lay their eggs on a ditch bank or under a barn. I'm convinced some of these hens were trying to escape the 'pecking order' in the chicken yard. (You know, chickens discriminate against one another.) Of course if I did not find the eggs, which could be traded at the store, eventually the hen would come off her nest with a group of youngsters.

There are several generations, reared since then, whose lives have been nothing but treats and they have never wanted for anything. Government checks, have replaced God as the source of “man's desiring” (Bach's Jesu, Joy Of Mans Desiring) and our ambitions have become terribly mixed up. A young preacher told me recently that he went to call on an older member of his congregation, one who had been ill and a recipient of welfare for sometime, and the minister said to him, “I want to pray for you and your healing.” The man said, “It is alright to pray but remember, I get a check.” It seems he was much more interested in his check being delivered from the government than his body being healed by God.

Do those who voted for this present administration have any idea of just how far we have strayed from the blessed hope of this country? Saul Alinsky, whose book Rules for Radicals which is being followed in the nationalization and polarization of this country which President Obama readily admits is his guide book. If you will look on the dedication page, it was dedicated to Lucifer. Satanism is taking over. How long before the painting of the baptism of Pocahontas will be removed from the Capitol rotunda?

Alister Crowley, British Satanist, has left us with his basis for living, “Do what thy wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Satan's followers have left us with the 10 Commandments of Atheism:

1. Thou SHALT NOT believe all thou art told.
2. Thou SHALT seek knowledge and truth constantly.
3. Thou SHALT educate thy fellow man in the Laws of Science.
4. Thou SHALT NOT forget the atrocities committed in the name of god.
5. Thou SHALT leave valuable contributions for future generations.
6. Thou SHALT live in peace with thy fellow man.
7. Thou SHALT live this one life thou hast to its fullest.
8. Thou SHALT follow a Personal Code of Ethics.
9. Thou SHALT maintain a strict separation between Church and State.
10. Thou SHALT support those who follow these commandments.

So, here we have it and it's easy to see from the media, academia and the politicians of our time that most have become followers of these man made commandments instead of the Law of God.

Not since Milton's Paradise Lost (Milton had a devotion to Lucifer) have we witnessed such a falling away. Several rock groups, quoting Milton, sing “It's better to reign in hell that to serve in heaven.” The Beatles proclaimed, “All you need is love.” Sinatra proclaimed, “I did it my way.” Whitney Houston sang, “The greatest love of all is to love yourself.” The mixture of celebrity in the cauldron of atheism should not be confused with success. Remember Erma Bombeck, “Don't confuse fame and success. Think of Madonna and Helen Keller.” The present administration thrives in the confusion of young minds. To meet these people in person, politician or celebrity, they would look like ordinary human beings. I'm sure Dr. Tiller looked like a normal human being, as he ushered in his church, but he was a killer of 60,000 babies.

Thomas Jefferson, second president of the United States, said "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever." Under the Candy Man, we have seen a complete trivialization of human life. He has been in charge for 6 months. The one word that surmises the successes and failures of everything in Washington is the word ABORTION. He, and everyone in his administration, all godless, pro-death liberals, immediately started the processes of the culture of death with the Mexico City decision and the decision to furnish money for abortions around the world. In this culture of death, NYC celebrated the tragedy of 9/11 by giving women free abortions during that week. Planned Parenthood gives $120 billion a year in the 'abortion effort' worldwide. Using the UN as their shield, the one child policy in China, abortions in Africa are being financed by your tax dollars! Britain, the first country in the free world to legalize abortions, has had a 30% drop in population. Godless Russia, has an 800,000 drop in population each year because of abortion.

Khrushchev, successor to Stalin, told Eisenhower's Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson, “The American people are so gullible they will accept Communism by 'drips and drabs', without even knowing what has happened.” In the anger and pain of today's children, who feel lucky to have slipped through the 'abortion net', character has been assassinated in the name of 'change'. Young people recognize hypocrisy. They know who will be paying the bills for these 'bail-out' and tax obscenities. Young doctors want nothing to do with abortion; unlike school teachers, who support the pro-death Democrat party, doctors do not want to see their future killed.

Just today, the Commercial Investment Trust (CIT), who is responsible for the loans of 24% of small businesses and 60% of textile company loans, stock fell 75% in one day, is trying to survive by selling 2.3 billion in bonds; since Mr. Obama had 'no candy' for them. In “Candy Man's” first six months, 6.5 million Americans have lost their jobs, 4.5 million home buyers lost their mortgages, home prices have decreased in value by 18-40% (depending on where), most farmers have gone broke. A dairy farmer who sells milk sells at a loss; Obama's chief interest in Africa, AIDS, is increasing more rapidly than ever. Because of the social pressures of being called homosexual, most African gay males will marry a woman and, if their sexual promiscuity with males continues, their health care facilities tell them not to come back. So, outside the reach of law and health parameters, the males, the females, the children, all continue in this chaos of HIV/AIDS, in spite of your tax dollars being funneled there.

In Egyptian history, the Israelites were not the only slaves in that country. The Egyptians themselves, because of the tyranny of the pharaoh, (Cleopatra's Candy Man), first sold their livestock, then their land, then themselves to the Pharaoh. The entire population became Egyptian slaves. This is a matter of history. Americans are slaves and they do not recognize the fact yet because they are not dragging around shackles. In my lifetime, I have seen commerce, which did close on Sundays, and many even one afternoon a week, to give owners and employees some leisure time, work longer and harder hours. Remember, Stalin's illustration of how to handle an enslaved people. He took a live chicken, plucked out all the feathers, then, throwing the bloody, abused chicken on the ground, picked up some corn in his hand and the wobbly, bleeding, maligned chicken came over and ate the grains of corn out of his hand. Stalin, like Herod the Great, Nero, and Mao, were early “Candy Men”, just handing out goodies from the public treasury to those in the public trough, and the many others around who might get a scrap from the table.

Blood out of a Turnip

Phyllis Diller, one of America's great wits and a woman much smarter than she appeared, said one time, “Why go to bed mad when you can stay up and fight?” As a doctor, of some reputation, I would advise everyone to get a good nights sleep. I know of nothing that will prolong life, prolong good health, more than rest; getting sleep. When you have nothing else to do, take a nap. It will prolong your life and keep you out of the doctor's office.

There are things that we should get mad about, that we should become filled with righteous indignation, such as what is happening to the most blessed country in the history of man. As a veteran, as one who has known the martyrdom of many of our finest, for this country, it frightens me that there is so little patriotism left. Most of us, can find much more wrong with this country than what is right with the country. Most young people, have no love or devotion for this country at all. Thank God, we still have some willing to fill the military ranks, willing to stay submerged for weeks at a time in submarines, willing to risk everything in landing jet planes on ships in the middle of the ocean, willing to fight for fellow human beings (such as in Iraq and Afghanistan) when it is almost impossible to tell one enemy from another enemy.

Young men and women, every skin color, from every crossroads in the fruited plains, who knows a certain percentage of their number will be killed, and an even larger percentage of their number will be forever wounded, either in body or spirit. It is no secret that a nation, which at one time cared for their own, now treats the Veteran as any other disabled citizen with socialized health care and food stamps. Socialized health care is wonderful, VA health care is wonderful, JUST DON'T GET SICK, DON'T HAVE A NEED FOR IT! Much of the dilemma in the liberal media, the Marxist academia, the bailed out conglomerates, even the public school system, where police patrolling the hallways replaced prayer in the classroom, is a direct result of politicians enamored with their positions, pre-embalmed with the drugs of the lobbyist party-givers, and insulated from the realities of the people they swore to protect and defend.

Much of it starts from the lying and hypocrisy at the very top. “I like Ike” was fine for this great commanding General until we found he had lied about the U2 spy plane and found that Gary Powers, who was supposed to kill himself rather than be captured, did not want to die; the Russians made a fool out of the lying President Eisenhower. Attending the Republican National Convention, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1964, this poor veteran stayed at a low priced hotel (Mark Twain) but a ranking General came by to pick me up each day and he said, “Goldwater will probably put us in Vietnam, but Lyndon Johnson will put us there much quicker.” And so it was. We have 58,000 dead to prove the lies of Vietnam. The older Bush said, “Read my lips”, but he went down in flames (much like the plane from which he was rescued in the Pacific) and has lived to see that each time his son moved his lips, there were lies. (It is reported that George and Laura Bush will get 10 million for their memoirs)

Bill Clinton, in front of God and everyone, said, “I did not have sex with that woman.” When impeached, when we saw Monica Lewinsky testifying in the well of the US Senate. Those of us stumbling around as disabled veterans, were left to wonder, “Is this our country?!”

Add all these lies of past Presidents, past Congressional Leaders, past state and local wannabe slave masters, with their promises and their desire to live like the 'rich and famous'. Multiply all these lies by 10 to the 20th power and you will begin to get an idea of what we now face as a nation from the present lying administration and lying Congress. A baby born in the local hospital this very morning, is in debt to the federal government alone for $250k. This says nothing of the debts of the state, county and city. The Energy Trade Bill passed this week, 1300 pages, most of it never read by those who voted for it, a bill which establishes parameters for the living of every breathing American, is beyond the comprehension of the human mind. Even 40 Democrats could not vote for it, but, 8 coward Republicans, who could have prevented its passage, did vote for it, including, to the disappointment of every Christian in this nation, Representative Chris Smith of New Jersey. This former Democrat, president of the New Jersey Right to Life Committee, now an embarrassment to every Catholic, has with this action, insulted every Christian who thought he was on their side, and believed that he was on God's side. It is these traitors to our country, Chris Smith, Mark Sanford, Allen Stanford and Bernie Madoff, who make Judas appear righteous. It is the political appointee regulators, those who should be given 'oversight', those who put party or race as the idols in their deception which are bringing slow but sure disaster to this republic.

Over 50% of our citizens do not pay income tax at all. The others, unless filthy rich from inheritance, can not begin to pay the bills due. The $134 billion in questionable bonds, (these caught, how many not caught?) the nervousness of our creditors (China, Japan, Middle Eastern countries) would shake the very foundation of Washington or Wall Street if the regulators and political appointees were not too busy having a good time.

I live in the 'old' historic district of my city. Many tourists are on the streets, admiring the old houses. There are some very fine, expensive restaurants in the area (Elijahs, Pilot House, Reel Cafe, etc.) I have never eaten at one of these restaurants, I can not afford to do so. But, I have asked employees who work in these places, “I can not afford to eat in your restaurant, please tell me who does?” Every time I get the same answer, “Political officials and government employees.” You see, our government has about squeezed every tax they can get out of us. For most of us, there is not much left. YOU CAN NOT GET BLOOD OUT OF A TURNIP.

Barber of Seville

One of the most beautiful cities I have visited in Spain is Seville. Rossini's opera “Barber of Seville” brings to the imagination early surgery which was done by the barber. Constantly turning, just outside the door of the shop, was the barber pole, which at one time was the symbol of the barber shop, red and white stripes, symbolic of the blood activity for the barber-surgeon. ObamaCare is almost as fictitious as early health care taking place in the barber shop. Surely there is enough intelligence among the 535 elected citizens in the House of Representatives on 9-9-09 to figure the “quackery” of this President. Like his school, Harvard, which has on it's gate the word “Veritas” (truth), the college newspaper recently carried an ad declaring the Holocaust a hoax, defying European history. Of course, like good liberals, they declared that the advertisement slipped through, “was not noticed”. But, as the editor for 8 years of a publication, I know that all gallery proofs are proofread before publication. Lucifer will not quit. We should know by now that liberals will not quit.

There is a new hero in the country, a congressmen from SC who told this lying President that he was a liar during his speech on 9-9-09. We have been looking for a hero in Washington for a long time. We have finally found one, a real man who will stand up for the ideas of his country. Prissy, John McCain, who we tried to drag across the finish line, to keep Obama from becoming president, is so politically correct that he did not appreciate the evaluation. It is time for real patriots, real Christians, to stand up and be counted.

They buried one of my friends recently, an outspoken critic of today's politically correct politicians and pastors, a man named Richard Carter. He told me the last time he went to church, when the pastor went to defending homosexuals in the pulpit and women preachers, he stood up and said, “Have you ever read Romans 1 or I Timothy 3:2?” He said, “I cannot believe that people will sit in a church smiling while a man teaches a false gospel.” I cannot believe that all the republicans who know better, did not stand with a chorus of liar.

Obama knew the cost of his health care plan but miracle of miracles had no details to support the cost. WE KNOW, that he has already put the country in a debt of 13 trillion and his health care plan will add another trillion dollars, money that cannot and will not ever be repaid. Those who have seen military medicine, health care in public hospitals such as mental hospitals or those of us who know the fallacies and fatigues of VA health care understand socialized medicine. Just as most of the bailout money will be spent next year, an election year, to buy votes, these socialized health care jobs will be taken up by his supporters. In the VA system, only liberal democrats will have the jobs. Recently I was being processed by one of these liberals and I said to my doctor later, “The woman does not know what she is doing.” He said, “The place is full of untrained, political lackeys.” When staying in my NY apartment, I went to the VA facility on 1st Avenue and 23rd St. Without exception, each time the lackey, learned I was a medical officer, their first words were “Please write me a recommendation for my service.” Most did not know what they were doing, but wanted to be recommended.

The world's three largest employers of people are the Chinese Army (totaling 7.5 million, active and reserve), the Indian Government Rail Service (they still use an manufacture steam engines, most travel in this second largest population is by rail. I have traveled with this rail service several times) and the British Health Care System (socialized medicine, robots are being used in all hospitals and nursing homes to do the work such as cleaning and food preparation. As in America, robots are used in the pharmacy, robots can count pills as well as anyone. In an American pharmacy there must be one pharmacist on duty). 70% of all produce found in American grocery store comes from abroad, human beings, backbreaking work, making $2 a day.

Can you even imagine the political appointees who will sponge the jobs in a national, socialist health care system? Confusion and rumors are the rule of the day in this new democrat administration. Seventy percent of Europeans and over 50% of Americans want all troops withdrawn from Afghanistan. Since Rudyard Kipling, an expanse of wanton, hate-filled, country side from the Khyber Pass to Russia, Afghanistan is a wasteland.

The late King Hussein of Jordan, has a surviving brother, Crown Prince Hassan, one of the best known Arab leaders in the Arab world. He said, “Our family are direct descendants of Muhammad and are the best known Arab family in the Hashemite world.” He said, “The Hashemite Arabs will never yield to a democratic form of government.” The US should just “quit” trying to change the politics of the 48 predominant Arab countries, and should spend it's time and treasury supporting it's only democracy-clad ally in that area of the world, Israel. Colonel Kadafi told us that Obama is a verified Muslim. Keep that in mind when you pledge your allegiance to him. When you listen to his diatribes about the economy or anything else. He is an economic illiterate. He is a military illiterate (has probably never saluted anyone except Michelle and has probably never fired a BB gun).

The economy will not be solved until people understand conservatism. The gold reserves at Fort Knox have not been audited since 1959. If all the gold ever taken out of the earth, was in one cube, it would only measure 75.4 feet square. We realize that fiat paper money is worthless. I am very leery of the constant advertisements I hear even on Christians radio, about the good sense of buying gold. It may be that this is a hoax and a heist, also. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: (Matthew 6:20)
