Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day's history is very sketchy. First recognized by the Catholic church in 496 AD, and removed from the calender of saints in 1969. Valentine's Day pertains to two saints named Valentine, one ~197 AD, the other ~269 AD, both of them early martyrs of the Catholic church.

Amidst the flowers, candy, cards, and hoopla of the commercialization “day of love” fest, we remember the famous Saint Valentine's Day massacre in Chicago where seven gang members were killed. Such would hardly get a headline any longer, because there are so many homicides everyday. A mother in White Plains, New York strangled her 18 year-old daughter because she was “constantly disrespectful.” A 23 year old father killed his two sons in Atlanta (ages 1 and 3), and critically wounded another, because of the mother's boyfriend.

There are 45 homicides in America each day, all of them some mother's child. When the notorious John Dillinger was killed in 1934, just the picture of his feet in national publications, brought home to every one, that every person, regardless of death circumstances, is some mother's child. Every baby, blessed to be born and not aborted, blessed to be loved by the mother, who carried the child in the sanctity and safety of the womb, is totally dependent on the maturation of a caring world in determining destiny. Character determines destiny, every child deserves “love and care”.

Life is a battle between the world, the flesh, the devil. The devil wants me to get mad because I am disabled. The devil wants me to get mad because I have had little or no encouragement from anyone during my disability. The devil wants me to give up because the world is in the condition it is in... 30 billion pounds of explosives dropped on God's earth by my country, taxation beyond comprehension. I have been told by a local attorney, handling the estate of a wealthy man in town, who, in his final instructions to him, told him to have his body cremated at death. He said, “then I want you to put the ashes in a cardboard box, mail them to the director of the IRS in Washington, with a note which states as to the deceased's instructions, he wanted me to tell you, 'now you have it all'.”

I well understand this man's attitude, particularly veterans who have defended this country. Time and time again, I write a politician about something specific, giving documentation, only to receive in return, a generic reply, on expensive paper, which could go to anyone about anything. Almost always, without exception a letter and envelope asking for a political contribution. Most of us have found that writing anyone in Washington is just a waste of time.

Since 1970, the greatest proportion of tax dollars has gone to those at the top. Even the average federal employee makes a salary of $130,000 a year plus benefits. Retirement benefits for most federal, state, local government workers is almost beyond comprehension, compared to the private sector. The greatest ambition of most hard-working, God-fearing, taxpaying parents who love their children is to send their children to a good school. They think they can move them up the ladder through education, better schools. We have learned, sadly, that the more money you throw at education, the worse education becomes. The average income of a middle class family of four, $50,000.

When I came out of school, the advertised pay for a beginning doctor in a hospital emergency room was $12,000 a year. My 5^th grade teacher made $85 a month. The President of the United States, FDR, made $50,000 a year. He ran WWII with one secretary and a few extra employees. Today, with the Executive Office Building, etc. there are 1,800 employees on the staff of the President. President Harry Truman, borrowed money to move his family back to Independence, Missouri.

Germany has always set the pace in the European economy...savers, people who stretch their money. Germany hates the change of supporting other countries in the European Union (Greece, Ireland, Portugal, etc.). The Frankfurt Stock Market is about to take over the New York stock exchange (the Marshall Plan really worked!).

One cannot get completely disillusioned, distraught, seeing Arab nations becoming more and more in line against Israel. Egypt and its recent reconstruction is a diplomatic nightmare. Think of the 18 million people, population of Cairo, just across the border from Gaza. Think of the history of the Suez Canal. We understand the 87 year old King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, is in a state of frenzy concerning America forsaking Mubarak of Egypt. Is his country next? In many of these middle east Islamic countries, Jordan, Yemen, Dubai, Libya. What next? America has put $500 billion into Israel. Aoth Rupert Murdoch and Bill O'Reilly have recently addressed the American Defamation League (ADL). A Christian whether in Israel or America, cannot buy one square inch of land in Israel.

Every river is a challenge, to build a bridge, use a boat, or just leave it alone. When will we learn that we do not have to build a bridge across every river in the world. That the 50% of Americans who do pay taxes cannot support the entire world, Valentine's day or any day. Pygmy-brained Americans think that in the coldest winter in history, we still have global warming, that there is no connection between the Rothschilds and Rupert Murdoch, that in order to climb out of poverty, you must be a mason or a member of skull and bones. When will we learn that on Valentine's Day or any day, we must be sure of our affections. We thought Bush 43 was a conservative, we supported him. We find that Laura supports abortion, and that the Bush twins are making videos supporting same-sex marriage. On Valentine's Day or any day, you cannot go forwards looking backwards, just glance through the rear-view mirror occasionally.

Closing the Circle

One of my best friends in college, a noted teacher, international researcher/lecturer, told me he did not have much time for writing anymore because he spent most of his time in Washington, DC justifying government grants to the university medical school. I quit my membership in AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) some years ago because I have found that throughout the scientific community, science has prostituted itself for money, bowing at the knees of big government, and "big pharma" for grants and other largess, which has most certainly compromised everything about scientific research.

Research must be politically correct, must dance to the tune of the federal alphabet groups, particularly FDA, if money is furnished for research and other needs. How many Americans realize that within the database your governments: federal, state, local, know more about you than you do? Every school record, elementary, high school, college, professional school is a matter of public knowledge. In a database at the IRS, every transaction you have made in the securities market, every bank transaction, every record of giving, whether to God's work, or to civic charity. Information from many data sources, including the DMV, county tax records, which include the appraisals of all your real estate, state privilege license, even retirement funds in the variety of employment and other funds available can also be found.

Retirement funds in this nation amount to about $17 trillion, funds which have been matched by employers, given special tax advantage, the government feels that it is attached to these funds, because they were not taxable. You can bet your bottom dollar that with a $202 trillion national debt and entitlements, these funds are being eyed with greed, particularly the civil service retirement funds. Also, it has never failed, the communist controlled, collectivist, totalitarian system will put these funds in their system and all comrades will be on the same playing field, eating from the same sparse table...a social security check if you are lucky.

You voted for people who promised to care for you, they promised to take care of your needs, not your wants. The Mexican migrates into Arizona, supplier of 90% of America's produce during the winter months, and earns $450 a week, the same thing he earns in Mexico for an entire year. Research has already been done in veteran's hospitals to determine the calories needed for survival. After all, we have a fat, lazy, indolent nation of people, sitting around watching TV all day.

The electorate has proven over and over, that it really does not care, socialism is just as good as democracy: “just keep me entertained.” In the county in which I live, the 50% who do not pay taxes went to the polls and voted for a tax increase on those who do pay taxes, then the very next day, the county commissioners voted for another real estate tax increase. You see, those who appraise your real estate, your automobile, the income from your building, already know how much they can “pick your pockets”.

Now, thanks to Obama healthcare, a 2700 page monstrosity, will dictate in the database every surgical procedure, medical problem, pharmacy prescription, every detail of your health life. In addition, preparations are already made for the reporting of every purchase made for anything above $600. This includes all your appliances, investments, retirement vehicles. The circle has been closed, the last of your privacy lost in the tell-tale theory of the Marxism (“the end justifies the means”).

Yesterday, a 90-year-old women whom I have known for many years was brought home from a nursing home facility by her son, because the service was so absolutely insane. Two of my cousins brought their mother home after one night because of callous care. We hear these stories over and over, and many of us would not have any choice, we would be forced to stay and tolerate, we have no family to remove us from such conditions. The VA facilities have been madhouses of healthcare problems for many years, when complaining, even to elected representatives, nothing improved, the circle has now closed and all Americans will get a chance to study up close and personal, what Obama and his ilk “hath wrought”. My friend's son, standing by the door to his mother's room, heard the attendant say to his mother, “you can go to the bathroom after breakfast.”

Through The Nose

I still remember the 1944 episode of Fibber McGee and Molly when their friend, Dr. Gamble, said he had to return to the hospital to perform an appendectomy. He said, “I will do an appendectomy from the outside but the patient will pay through the nose”. Fibber McGee accused Dr. Gamble of committing robbery with his stethoscope. Today's possessors of higher learning commit robbery not only with the stethoscope but the otoscope, microscope, telescope, and even the periscope.

Teaching us the new economy, Lehman brothers, Bear and Sterns, Merrill-Lynch, and certainly Goldman Sachs … you loan yourself 1,000 dollars then, you do not repay your loan but you write off the bad loan on your income tax.

Politics, so affecting our lives, makes no sense at all. We pay billions of tax dollars each year, maintain a standing military personnel of 1.5 million and a reserve component of 1.2 million expressly to defend the borders of this nation. We have learned to pay, “though the nose”, for the many illegal, undocumented people who just walk across the border. The Democrat administration wants to give the “30 million illegals”, citizenship status. There are more than 30 million in this country … there are probably half that number in California. All a Mexican man must do, is bring his pregnant wife across the border, and just before her water breaks, and she gives birth, the new child is an American citizen under the expressed guarantees of the American Constitution. Then, the entire family, including other children become Americans with all the financial structure, schools, hospitalization, welfare, jails, Social Security, all at the expense of the American tax payer. You can say what you will, we need to show compassion, the raisins in California cannot be picked without them, but it is a matter of prospective Democrat votes.

The Mexican man has not become as effeminate as the American male. I use Eduardo and Mario to work for me … hard workers, able to do anything … not afraid to climb a ladder. They just want a job, don't care about American citizenship, just want to make some money that they can send home for their family. In Mexico, they were trying to survive and keep up a family on less than a dollar a day. I will have to admit, that in their shoes, I would have come across the border too. The thing that amazes me, amazes everyone who employs these border absconders, their work ethic, their knowledge of how to do things.

We hear so much verbiage in this country about family values ... dead-beat fathers … courts trying to collect child support. La raza, meaning “the race” in Spanish, is an organization promoting not only the Spanish race but their ideals, values etc. When you have compromised everything you believe in, such as have the blacks with their politics, such as with the homosexuals and their politics, what do you have left to believe in?

The blacks are aborting 52% of their babies. How many babies do the homosexuals abort? We have seen the results of the pampering and pandering of the blacks and gays. Prosecution and persecution of the Latins will make them that much stronger as compared to the blacks and gays whose pampering is making them weaker.

In comparison, if Americans went South across the border to Mexico and created the same problems the Mexicans are creating here, Americans would be shot dead with machine guns.

America is good when to comes to the harassment and enslavement of it's own tax paying citizens. WCBS is reporting that all New Yorkers are “organ donors” whether they know it or not. The very last thing you want to do is to become an organ donor. There is just a few vital seconds between clinical life and clinical death. It is well known that many desperately ill people come back from the brink of death, usually in a vehicle fatality. It is a known fact that many, alive when arriving at the emergency room are put to death in order to harvest their organs rather than saving the victim. There is tremendous financial gain for many groups and many individuals from the sale of organs.

It is not just world wide financial banking institutions that are in the stealing business. Your very organs can be stolen. Check on the world wide organ market and see how much a liver or some other vital organ is worth.

DNA has proven that a large percentage of those on death row were put to death, though innocent. Stealing is not restricted to banks and emergency rooms. There is much stealing that takes place at the courthouse … prosecutors fighting and killing on their way up the ladder. Take the time to find out how many in political office were former prosecutors. Do you think that withholding vital evidence, telling a lie judicially camouflaged would slow down an ambitious lawyer who, when he looks in the mirror, sees a future state or federal power broker?

It is an exception when government does not lie to you. On every ballot, there should be one question at the beginning, “Do you trust your government, yes or no?” For anyone who checks yes, the ballot should be immediately thrown away. That person does not have enough sense to vote on anything else. I repeat, IT IS AN EXCEPTION WHEN GOVERNMENT DOES NOT LIE TO YOU. I have stacks of letters from government agencies. They say and do absolutely nothing. You can always depend on one sentence being in every letter from government … “you should hire a lawyer to take care of your problem”. This is the problem … lawyers. 75% of all elected politicians are lawyers … state and federal. Even Shakespeare said, in the early 15th century, his play King Henry the Sixth, “The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers”.

I am a patriot, what more could I give to my country? I do not believe you will find one citizen who writes more letters than I do to elected representatives, local, state, federal .THEY ARE ALL, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, DISHONEST. My own representative in the congress, a Democrat, knows me well. He is best known for bringing down a large check from the government, a photographic opportunity, with his name, instead of the government's, on the check. Pitiful the voting public who have no more intelligence than to swallow this type malarkey as he empties your tax paying pockets “through the nose”.

In New York City, along the streets, vibrant, ambitious black men have a game known as Thimblerig, or more basic, the “shell game”, using shells and a pea to rob you of your money. Obviously, local, state and national politicians have taken lessons from these shell game operators. Over and over, via the state controlled news media which enables this “grand theft” we see tax dollars going towards Washington, a few dollars returning, but most just disappearing in the malaise of voter indifference.

It is only when the citizen hears the bang of the judges gavel in the bankruptcy court that the tax payers nose become cognizant to what has been dragged through it.

Testing

One of my favorite radio programs as a teenager was the Great Gildersleeve with it's main actor Hal Perry. The Great Gildersleeve was running for mayor of his town and he discovered, as most challengers of incumbents have discovered, the power of incumbency. What it means for a politician to be thoroughly established in office with the corruption inherent, political appointments, the good ol' boy network, and the actual belief that the government treasury and taxpayer funds actually belong to him, and he can use these funds to do whatever he wants, usually payoffs that will ensure his reelection. We are seeing this on a scale now that has never before been seen in history.

It is bad enough to see the downtrodden taxpayer cough up every tax, every permit, every license, every fine one can imagine in local, state and federal governments; but now, four billion hard earned dollars must be extracted to support world government. Mr. Gore and his cohorts already set up in their tax and trade scam.

It should be an embarrassment to every American citizen as it is an insult to every American military veteran, to witness the bribery and extortion going on by the Democrat party in Washington. In the wee hours of the morning, behind closed doors, the power brokers, and elected representatives, make the mafia look decent as they pay off senators such as Landrew, Nelson, and others for their vote. Following the Obama-Alinsky, Rules for Radicals, a scourge of decadence, our government has been taken over by the radical element and our Constitution trashed. This is a time for the testing of the American spirit as never before in our 230-year history. WHAT WE DO, DETERMINES WHAT WE ARE. If you are a Marxist-Criminal, it will come out in your actions. If you are an honorable person of integrity, your basic character and actions will show it. Character determines destiny. If you are a person of character, it will be evident in your actions as well as words. The Christian patriot will always show integrity. God will not ask you to do something you cannot do. We do what we do because we believe what we believe.

As I have stated many times, most of my life as a totally blind person involves radios. Listening to several radios at a time and in this day of “talk radio”, becoming well-known across the nation in sharing my thoughts with others.

Locally, on a talk-station, a black woman called in expressing her frustrations because she had been in bed ill for a long time and could not get the ever promising government agencies, or any “do-gooder” civic or church group to come to her assistance. It was evident from what she said her family was financially unable to assist. In the course of the conversation, she said, “I used to depend on God, but I have found that He is a white man's God. God does not seem to be interested in a 70-year old black woman who cannot pay her water bill or prepare something to eat.” I called the host of the show afterwards and told the host to come by my house to pick up some money for Mrs. Johnson, and to have her call me. I remember the name because it is the same name as Kathryn Johnston in Atlanta who also lived in a drug infested part of town. You remember, from the news accounts, that Mrs. Johnson was a 92-year old black woman living alone in her own home, the Atlanta police acting on an erroneous tip, kicked in her door, and she---frightened from the drug activity all around her---fired a shot at her front door hitting a police officer.

The police had a no-knock warrant and cut down her burglar bars to gain entrance. Wherein, the police who had kicked down the door, they shot 39 times, with 5 bullets hitting and killing her. I've talked with Mrs. Johnson, who lived on Castle St., several times by phone. It depressed me that she was going through this time of testing. A time when she was doubting the veracity of God, the promises of His care. I told her, “I am older than you, totally blind, mostly housebound, it has taken me an entire lifetime to have the courage of faith and depend on the sovereignty of God.” Faith is like a two-sided coin, a coin is worthless without both sides. Faith is action based on belief, sustained by confidence. You must have both belief and action in your faith, survival through courage.

For 120-years, the preacher of righteousness Noah, showed action in his belief in God's salvation through the construction of an Arc. Abraham, the first Jew, showed for time and eternity, action and belief as he traveled 600 miles north at God's direction, no forwarding address, and was willing to wait for a very old wife to produce a son (who as a young man, he readily offered as a sacrifice). In these two examples, as well as many others throughout history, we find that many times it is more difficult to wait than to work but we are told to “wait upon the Lord” (Psalm 37:9).

Our sovereign, omnipotent, omniscient, God of the universe, has told us that he would never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). God just requires us to trust in Him. Many times, and in many ways, we find that God does not have a calendar nor a wristwatch. I believe that 95% of faith is just raw courage. The courage and confidence of believing that the testing of God applies just as much now as it did with the ancients.

I shared with Mrs. Johnson, the small slave church in the woods right across the road from my cousin's house where the slaves 200-years ago would gather for worship. I told her about the crude benches in the building. The incredible life which they as well as most of us have endured, but the importance of enduring to the end (Matthew 24:13).

It would be wonderful if just through prayer and asking, things would happen instantly such as the instant healing in a Benny Hinn healing crusade. God works in mysterious ways and just as civil rights, healing often takes time, HE IS BOSS.

Mrs. Johnson, like this writer, had been reared on a farm. I reminded her that only farm people can actually know God's plan for everything... The time involved in germination for seeds in the ground... The time involved for hatching eggs under the hen... The time involved for the curing of meat or wood... The faith involved in having crops exposed to the elements (rain, hail, wind storms).

I don't know how much good I did in her life, or anyone's life. I just know we are asked to do the best we can. We plant the seeds, someone else waters the plant, and it is up to God for the results. Satan is the enemy, always on the job. The spirit of God is always present, like the wind, you never can tell which way it will go. God's ways are NOT man's ways (Isaiah 55:9). Take assurance from testing, For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth (Hebrews 12:6).

Moochers

One of the most interesting studies in the world is that involving political geography and how cities get started, what develops politicians,etc. Having traveled the world, every continent, at night, listening to the BBC broadcast from London, I have never heard them give the weather report from any city I have not visited. In studying the maps of any country you will find that geography determines the development of a city. For protection, families would build their houses close together usually near a river because river transportation and boats was the only mode of transportation for many years. As in the many islanded Indonesia (a nation of 5,000 islands), the expense of building bridges is so prohibitive that the ferries we hear of sinking make the connections between cities and so it was with the early rivers here. Mostly ferries connecting either side of a river as was the case here with the Cape Fear River. But, as bridges were built, so were roads and later railroads. Fortunes were made with the early railroads (Vanderbilts), the first railroad in North Carolina was from Wilmington to Weldon, the railroad owned by then Governor Dudley, who's mansion still sits here on the bank of the river.

In Europe, the cities were walled for protection and from the beginnings of military forces, produced by the families of the city, slowly but surely the head military men became the first politicians. Today, most politicians are lawyers but western civilization and it's political leaders is a product of the military.

Perhaps from the pillaging, pilfering, contraband, graft and corruption, easily learned in military exploits, the early politicians learned there was security and safety with their nose in the public tax trough. It becomes just a matter of keeping your position there, whatever the cost. The early politicians, like today's, with their lackey bureaucrats, know that government produces nothing, their power comes in their ability to tax. The one time protectors want to continue the charade and never let the enslaved know that they do not own anything but rather those empowered with the ability to tax and regulate own everything. It becomes a matter of raising their pay, steadily stealing through empowered expense accounts (now to the extent of giving politicians and bureaucrats credit cards) and just keeping the process going without going to jail.

The enslaved, who now must get a permit or a license, for every human action except breathing, are so enthralled by these politician moochers that they further regulate themselves by entwining and entangling into Homeowner Associations, where, believe it or not, in the true Marxist system, their neighbors further regimentize their lifestyle.

You could never convince our forefathers, who believed in freedom, who loved every idea of liberty, that their descendants would submit to the inhumanity of men. Even if we had been invaded by a foreign army, we would not have less liberty than we have today with a combined occupying force of obsessing elected political tyrants and wannabe stewards of the streets (in Cuba, the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution patrols every street, regulates and reports the “goings on” in every residence).

Beyond comprehension, the moochers of the universe, elected politicians, their bureaucratic lackeys, de-sanitized homeowner watchers, all are allowed without too much resistance to massage the pocketbooks of their captors. Every Marxist leader (Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev) has said, in speaking of Western Civilization, that each democracy will fall when it's officials realize they can live well off the enslaved. It is simply a matter of staying in power. It is simply a matter of keeping your political party in power. It is simply a matter of buying off any interference or by the scare tactic of political correctness, threats of being called a racist, become a pacifist because it is “nice” to turn the other cheek. As far as the eye can see, your children and grandchildren are up to their eyeballs in debt ($50 trillion, social security, military, civil service, retirements, $12 trillion federal debt, $250,000 indebtedness for each American man, woman and child). The American experiment, once the envy of the globe, like the Christian church, once the last hope of the globe, are both in a climate of despair, mostly of our own choosing. When will we learn to stand up for God, family and country and keep our hard earned heritage from the moochers preying upon us?
