Take A Pill and Go To Bed

Nineteen year old Joan of Arc, leading a revolution against evil, was burned at the stake May 30th, 1431. Her last words, "I was born for a time like this."

At about the same time, 1450, the Catholic monk, Thomas a Kempis wrote his great book, "Imitation of Christ." Many wonderful words from this marvelous book. Best remembered, of himself, "I am what I am, before God, no more no less." This writer often feels that he was born for this time in world history. I am convinced that God wanted me to experience his entire world, though blind, traveling every continent, passport stamped in 157 countries, hearing the sounds and smells of his creation so I could describe what is going on.

No one could ever have convinced me that things could have changed as they have in my lifetime...such political decadence, the scientific community interested only in money. Education, all levels, elementary to university, entertainment not enlightenment, itching ears for a gospel of satisfaction in the church house, a world on the way to Hell with people telling the preacher that they enjoyed his sermon.

In America, separated by red and blue, if it were so simple to take a red pill, go to bed and all well be conservatism with its responsibilities. Take a blue pill, go to bed and all will be well with progressivism and its communist answers.

Red or blue, when did people actually lose the last modicum of their intelligence? Cameras everywhere, but none working at the scene of disaster such as the theatre of Aurora, Colorado. EMS expenses everywhere but no ambulances for the theater disaster...patients hulled to the nearby hospital in police cars. Like my town, inmate in jail, minor infraction, killed by the jailer, camera not working.

Like the Marrow building in Oklahoma City, the shootings and killings in Phoenix, Arizona, why use the killers picture from Arizona for the killer in Colorado? Why spread the word that the Colorado killer was concerned about killing police in his booby trapped apartment? He evidently was not concerned about killing the innocent in the theater. Then, consider, the felled buildings in lower Manhattan particularly building 7, which fell at 5:21pm while the others fell in the morning, nothing hitting it. These disasters do not make any sense. About the time we ask questions about Colorado, the mosque killing in Wisconsin, another one that makes no sense, cameras not working, eye witness testimony, when will someone ask the questions about warfare in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Libya, etc? Never before in the history of man has there been such hellish wars, inhalation of bodies right in front of soldier buddies. Then we wonder why so many of our military commit suicide while their unconcerned family and friends at home, or away from the military scene, just react in a cognitive distortion (It will all go away, things are not as bad as they seem).

Perhaps at other times in world history things have been profane. David had been anointed King of Israel but he and his men were evading King Saul. Perhaps because of political turmoil with Achish of the Philistines. Not wishing a longer association with David. David and his men of valor where asked them to leave and return to Ziklag, the town of their wives and children. Walking, a hard three day journey, tired-hungry, approaching the city, they found that it had been burned to the ground, their wives and children enslaved. "Then David and the people that [were] with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep" (1 Samuel 30:4). This writer, in China, was told that after the Rape of Nanking (1937) by the Japanese, 300,00 out of 600,000 killed, the survivors wept until there were no more tears.

We wish it were as simple as red and blue, a pill or even penalties for treason. So many Americans refusing to identify the obvious, no time in preparation or separation, will question, why and how did we let this happen?

US Army grants $3 million for anti-suicide nasal spray research

For those feeling down in the dumps, the US military now has a solution: an anti-suicidal nasal spray that delivers antidepressant chemicals to the brain.

­The US Army has awarded a scientist at the Indiana University School of Medicine $3 million to develop a nasal spray that eclipses suicidal thoughts. Dr. Michael Kubek and his research team will have three years to ascertain whether the nasal spray is a safe and effective method of preventing suicides.

The research grant comes after the Army lost 38 of its soldiers to suspected suicide in July, setting a record high. So far in 2012, the Army has confirmed 66 active duty suicides and is investigating 50 more, making a total of 116 cases.

The Army’s suicide rate is at the highest level in history, with more American soldiers taking their own lives than being killed by the Taliban. The Pentagon reported in June that suicides among soldiers averaged one per day this year, surpassing the rate of combat fatalities.

But the naturally occurring neurochemical thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) could slow the rising suicide rate. The chemical has a euphoric, calming, antidepressant effect. TRH has been shown to decrease suicidal ideas, depression and bipolar disorders.

“We’ve known since the 1970s that TRH has antidepressant effects, and it works quite rapidly,” Kubek told The Daily. “The bottom-line problem has been figuring out how to get it into the brain.”

Until now, doctors have only been able to transmit TRH through injections into the spinal cord. Pills and blood injections do not allow TRH to enter the brain.

But with new technology, Kubek’s team of research scientists has found the nasal cavity can safely carry TRH across the blood-brain barrier.

“This is far from a soldiers-only solution,” Kubek said. “Potentially, if this works, we have an entirely new type of pharmacology.”

If the nasal spray is proven effective, soldiers in crisis or those taking other antidepressants would also be given TRH.

“The phase directly after starting an antidepressant is a very vulnerable time frame in a patient’s life,” Dr. Ken Duckworth, medical director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, told The Daily. “The nasal spray would stabilize them right away, while they wait for the [antidepressants] to do their job.”

While the suicide rate is increasing in the military, it is also an increasing concern in the US civilian population.

Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 years. Every day, more than 100 Americans take their own life.

The America people are so accustomed to the waste of tax money that an article like this is such a cognitive distortion (just pass it over, everything will work out). Cognitive distortion that the scientific mind will pay little attention. If spraying an exotic chemical up the nose, effecting the brain and mind activity, is reliable, then we have the greatest scientific discovery of many centuries. Or, we have the greatest waste-hoax involving tax dollars. Just think, to control neurons involving suicide, why not addictions? (sex, sin, political decadence, etc)

I was involved in the MK Ultra project of the Korean war era, beginning in 1950's ending "supposedly" in 1964. This project involved the use of many methodologies to manipulate people's individual mental states and alter brain functions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_MKUltra).

For years, I have talked about this project, subliminal perception, it is a fact, not fiction, that the American people have been dumbed down by messages on the television screen of which they are not aware. Why else would we be so stupid? Oh, the simplicity of just a nasal spray ending suicide, ending theatre and mosque war massacres. If only these scientists at Indiana or somewhere would design a subliminal message for the screen, or a spray which would bring us to our senses, would at least help Christians in the warfare, "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places] (Eph 6:12).

Those of you whose faith has not been challenged, who do not understand, who think that life is just a mess, just relax, its going to get worse.

You must put flesh and blood on the people of history to make sense of things. The first Jew, Abraham, and his wife Sarah, both nearly 100 years of age, thought they would have no children. Sarah allowed her hand maiden, a pagan Egyptian princess, to bare a child by Abraham named Ishmael. Jealous-bitter, Sara, made Hagar's life so miserable. She escaped into the wilderness, proclaiming, "Thou God seest the" (Genesis 16:13). This is the message of the ages to believers. One of the greatest prophets of Israel, Samuel, believer, hacked King Agag into pieces. (1 Samuel 15:33). God told the children of Israel to kill most of the 7 nations living in the promise land of milk and honey.

The pagans standing on the walls of the fortress city of Jericho, having already heard about the Israelites crossing the Red Sea, Jordan River, on dry land, must have looked with amazement as these nearly 3 million people marched around their city, not saying one word. God had only spoken to Joshua, how and when to march and for every person to keep their mouth shut. But, they had reason to obey God, all their elders had been buried in the wilderness for not pleasing God. So, it did not surprise them when the walls of the city fell...only the many pagans living in the city.

It is not ours to question God's ways, "For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD" (Isaiah 55:8). "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13). Ours is to trust and obey (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The Cosmo girl, Helen Gurley Brown, died last week at age 90. Born in 1922, there were not many options for women and she never let us forget it. Like Gloria Steinem, "Outrageous Acts of Everyday Rebellion" and Betty Freidan, "The Feminine Mystique" they had a bone to pick with society, the culture which had produced them. There are many critics of women liberation but the son of an uneducated, hardworking, tax paying, God fearing, mother and grandmothers, understands. My grandmother's were not allowed to vote until 1920. Although willed land by their family, must have a husbands name on the deed, could only inherit a child's share of a husband's estate. Until Jesus came, women were no more than slaves, are still no more than slaves in Muslim countries. This writer has traveled through most Muslim countries, women on the streets, totally covered..peeking through a veil over their face. (Many veils look like lace curtains.) There are never women clerks in stores, you do not see women driving vehicles. Muslim women are not allowed to go to male doctors, associate with males. It was on television, the King of Jordan's death, his wife, Queen Norah, was not allowed to attend his funeral although women leaders from throughout the world were there.

In cancer treatment, impossible to kill just 90% of cancer tissue. A nerve fiber responds to stimuli, 100% or not at all. (Physiology, all or none law) In every world culture, every society, women have proven themselves 100%. There are more women in colleges than men. Women doctors, lawyers, accountants, airline pilots, etc. My youth, 80 years ago, women did not have much choice, school teaching, nursing, scrub women in buildings. My 5th grade teacher, (my father was school board chairmen) Vivian Buffalo, after working her way through college, cleaning the dining hall, etc. was paid 85 dollars a month. Yet to this day, on a plane, one does not want to hear a woman's voice saying, "This is the captain speaking." Or, a women coming into the examining room saying, "I am your doctor."

There has never been a statue to a critic. Before we criticize women, lets remind ourselves of what a mess men have made of this world. Put forth the best version of yourself. Whatever your challenge, just do it.

This writer is totally different from most people, I realize that. When one is a born again Christian, the holy spirit of God, controls your life, your thinking. Something has gnawed at my very insides for several years, ever since I first studied the imposter in the White House, Barack Obama.

I was one of the first outsiders to visit the Central African Republic, after Bokassa, having severely embarrassed the French- the world. The French army took over, Bokassa escaped to Ivory Coast. My guide in Central African Republic and others would not let me out of their sight. The nation was so afraid that one of the first tourists would get kidnapped. Of course, like the rest of the world, I had heard of the "bizarre Bokassa." But, you hear of many things. We human beings have a tendency to think that things are not as bad as they really are-not really true (Cognitive distortion). In Bangui, the capitol, my guide impressed me with the chaos of the country..and then, one of the first outsiders to actually see the home of Bokassa.

Bokassa began his rule in Central African Republic in 1966, total tyrant. In a few years he had declared himself emperor of the country. In Bangui, Roman columns were erected along the streets. In his horse drawn chariot and emperors costume, he would race up and down the streets. His solid gold throne, took 1/3 of the nations wealth. When he had massacred 100 school children, in which he himself had participated, beating some to death with his cane, simply because they would not wear costumes bearing his picture, the world finally had enough of this man and his messianic complex.

This writer was the first outsider to visit the home of Bokassa just outside the city of Bangui, back then, around 1981-2. (I would have to check my passport to get the exact dates. It's hard for a blind man to find anything after 30 years.) Fencing enclosed the large estate, weeds had taken over. But, around the house, a moat, filled with water and crocodiles. He fed his enemies to the crocodiles. There was a large refrigeration room where other enemies were hanged like meat in a slaughter house, the hooks were still there. It is said that he ate human flesh. My guide told me he was there one time when there were no prisoners to feed to the crocodiles. Instead, he would throw chickens into the moat and my guide said he had never seen so many feathers as the crocodiles enjoyed the not-so Kentucky chicken.

Syria is known for torture, in another article I have talked about the torture in Idi Amin's, Uganda. Look at the picture of Obama and Bokassa, do you see a resemblance? A messianic type existence? In these African countries, black dictators with messianic ambitions, most do much killing to gain power. In the "land of the free, home of the brave," 1/2 the population has voted for such dictatorship-leadership. They may not look alike to you, act alike to you, but we know now that Americans will fall for anything and as Gertrude Stein said, "A rose, is a rose, is a rose."

Before I was sightless, as an eye doctor, always interested in the eyes of people...particularly crushed wives, old people in homes of children where they were not wanted. I remember my Aunt Lizzy, Dorothy Dicks hospital, where she was placed by her family so they could get their greedy hands on her land. (Eyes of despair.)

America is just awakening to the eyes of discouragement-abandonment, from organized-purposed, Obama and his ilk. The people of Central African Republic, Uganda and other countries were glazed over with desperation....no longer having the brightness of expectation-excitement. Why do we allow mere men with messianic ambitions to so disavow populations?

Are you free? Only Jesus Christ gives you liberty. I do not remember a church-Christian in the Central African Republic.

In the addictive behavior of 21st century modernistic American's, a nation that has come so far, to sink so low, there is confusion about God, confusion about the Bible, confusion about science, confusion about religion and violence. Few Americans are troubled about theater or mosque massacres, deaths from drones. Everyone wants to be popular, have everyone like us, some even turn a blind eye to evil in government, so afraid to criticize.

On Mother Theresa's orphanage in, Calcutta, India are the following words, "People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."

Study, criticize, work, vote, once your country is taken over by leftist-fanatics, it may be too late to get it back. People who have a messianic complex, thinking that they have omnipotent rights to your life, the lives of the unborn and elderly, can live like Kings on your tax dollar. Zoologists know that different birds have different type feathers to accomplish a certain type of flying purpose. Have enough intelligence to recognize messianic dictators.

Most children's books and their stories always ended with the words "and they lived happily ever after." We want happy endings, books, movies, T.V documentaries, narratives from the hospital and doctors office. Everything does not have a happy ending. There will always be fires, floods, tornados, that destroy family homes. 1/3 of the American public will die from cancer. In fact, this writer believes that everyone has cancer, it is just a matter of the immune system and, we know what cancer does to the body, and to ones finances. Some marriages do not last long enough for the couple to even use their wedding gifts.

I was acquainted with the family of a very fine young man, graduating high school. I did not attend their church but know that the family and this young man were very active in their church, a non denominational assembly. There was occasion for me to see he and his mother and she mentioned his upcoming high school graduation. I said to him, "What are you going to do with your life? Where are you going to college?" He said, "There is only one thing worthy of my life. The only thing in which I am interested, I will attend Bible college. Either the ministry or whatever God wants." And, so, he was in Bible college when he had an automobile wreck which killed him instantly. In such an unhappy ending, we question, but must rely on the fact that God knows best.

To the monotheistic Jew, the name Jehovah was the greatest word one could pronounce. Like Satan, so jealous of God in Heaven, rulers such as Caesar wanted to be called Lord. The early, New Testament church established the preeminence of Jesus. "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord" (Philippians 2:9-11). Even 700 years before the New Testament, the silent years, before Jesus put on a tent of flesh, born, dwelled among us, the profit Isaiah had said, "I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear" (Isaiah 45:23).

Sleep walking Christians, a lackadaisical church, bends with the secular humanist and listening to the satanic powers of the air (Eph 6:12). In ignorance about the purpose (Romans 8:28) and perfect plan of God. Every life, no matter the skin color, genome, is precious to God. Not just the Nazi's or Margaret Sanger or planned parenthood attempting to "thin out" human kind, personhood, but to this very day, international qualifiers challenge the wisdom of God. In 1950, John D. Rockefeller and John Foster Dulles, champions of eugenics, just as today's Bill Gates, traveled the world's third world countries, making attempts in population control in non white nations. Rockefeller was a Baptist, Dulles an Episcopalian...just words. Like many denominations, (Lutheran, Episcopalian, Presbyterian) gave preachers, bishops, bringing into God's circle of belief such abominations as same sex marriage, the homosexual agenda. The time has come, long past due, for separation. The real believers, real Christians in these denominations, should come out and separate themselves. “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” (2 Cor 6:17).

No one need tell you that it is "fashionable" in 21st century America to have large mega churches, drums and drama, bells and smells, where nightclub type music, party type clothing, are the join card to fill up space. Little wanted, little expected, little found, little gained..."party time for Jesus, all you need is love." In a world where souls are on their way to Hell, everyone believing that you can believe what you wish with a happy ending, laughing and clapping, God's message of sins ruin and Christ redemption, the crucified and risen savor, hardly known, few believe.

One young man worked for me, four small children in his home, having been around me, other employees, etc. he told his wife one Sunday morning that they should take their children to church. There was one of these large mega playtime churches nearby. They knew nothing about the church, its congregation, etc. He said, "We enjoyed the music, drums, guitars", but, later, they were drinking something from small cups and eating small pieces of bread. He question to me, "What were they doing?" Can one even imagine-comprehend that in any congregation, large, small, etc, a minister would not explain the sacrament-ordinance of the communion service...the Lord's supper, its significance, purpose? This writer believes that the Lord's supper is reserved for believers. But, when there are visitors, when there are unbelievers in a service, like at the time of a funeral, no better time to teach-preach-introduce the message of Christianity. There can be a happy ending to this life and one would think that every living-breathing individual, unless their heart for some reason, has been hardened unless the soil was '"stony ground" (parable of the sewer- Mark 4) only the most callous-sightless would not care for some knowledge of Christian faith. "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Cor 5:7). You may never reach some, that is God's business, but the gospel, good news, message is the only "happy ending" the concerned church office. The greatest ideals of a Christian culture are gratitude for our redemption, generosity in sharing with others.

Another lifetime ago, television in its infancy, the writer young and sited, very famous T.V program, "What's My Line." Regulars were Bennett Cerf, Dorothy Killgallen, and Martin Gabel. There's was to identify impersonators-pretenders.

It has always been difficult to identify the real thing. That is why you have specialists in every area of endeavor...professionals, art experts, coin experts, even experts identifying flora and fauna.

I live in the historic district of my city, near the river, near the tourist-bar area. At night, I hear young people "frenzied" from drinking and dancing, up and down my street. It no longer bothers me, I am glad to know there are still young people who are enjoying life. The best sound to this old man's ears, the laughter of children from a nearby children's museum. Just to know that there are still some which have not been aborted-loved by their family, human beings still laughing and enjoying life.

I don't know how seriously God expected his chosen to live. God's book is silent on many things..partying, cremation, technology, etc.

The world, in The Bible, refers to the area around the earth which Satan controls. Satan is a created being, limited by God. Satan is limited by time, he knows that his time in the world is limited, has a lake of fire and Hell waiting for him but is anxious to take as many with him as he can. Satan is a presumptuous, prideful entity. In Heaven he was God's most beautiful prince, son of the morning, chief musician, cherub of God's mountain. So full of pride, he wanted to ascend above God and the universe (Isaiah 14:13). SO, God kicked him out of Heaven. For those of you who think Satan is of little influence in your life, he enticed 1/3 of all the angels in Heaven to go with him. They are still here, like radio waves, demons all around us.

The tragedy, the church, Christians, do not know basic Christianity. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]" (Eph 6:12). Eve did not have a chance against that old serpent, nor do you have a chance against the demons of Hell...Satan and his minions. He is much smarter than you, knows much more scripture than you do, knows every "wile" of confusion (Eph 6:11). The only salvation, the chosen of God, "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

We fight the good fight "the battle is the Lord's", at Calvary, "the victory was won" (1 Samuel 17:47). He has given us battle instructions, putting on the whole armor of God (Eph 6:13). Throughout God's book, we have the assurance that he will do battle for us. But, he does not want cowards, turning their back, running. The whole armor of God does not protect one inch of your back. We are to dig in, stand (Eph 6:13). 90% of faith is just raw courage, it takes courage to stand and face the enemy. We must remember that all the armor is controlled by the belt. The belt is truth, truth is on our side. Jesus is truth (John 17:17).

This writer has often said that sinners are so much fun, they have such a good time. They enjoy their paganism much more than Christians enjoy their salvation. The supernatural joy from the comfort, security, safety, of the spirit of God living within you should far exceed-outweigh in your progression to Heaven, the falsity-temporary hangover of pagans on the way to Hell.

God always trying to make a point. Jesus is everything that Satan is not.

There are two things in the Christian life to which there are no contradictions: the spirit of giving and the spirit of living. Already dead, living in sin, there may be laughter-dancing-foolery, "pleasures of sin for a season" (Hebrews 11:25). After the hilarity, upmanship, dancing to the tune which Satan plays, mental complications may take over. Alone, in your bed, quietness, (if your conscience still troubles you, you still have a chance) solitude of good sense the message may come to you that sin with all its decorations is not what God designed you for. IF, in the council chambers of eternity, before the earth was formed, God chose you to spend eternity with Him or even if he desires to save you now, (like Nehemiah, God can change his mind) you may decide to change. If not, why go to Hell on the caboose, why not go first class? Many first class sinners, repenting-baptized, called by God, have become God's greatest proponents-personalities. One black preacher sat in my living room, he said, "Doctor, before God saved my soul I was a first class sinner, now I am a first class believer."

My lifelong experience with the Christian church, most just sleepwalkers, have no idea yet that we are at war. There is no in between. You are either a follower of Jesus or a follower of the Devil. The church must realize that we have an adversary, that we are not just camp stools sitting around and that God is not just waiting around to see what will happen. Jeremiah taught us that the potter, at his house, never takes his eyes off the wheel AND, the potter is ready to remake, redesign that which pleases him (Jeremiah 18:3). The potter is in charge- no one ever confused about his identity, his line.

When I was young, 80 years ago, an entirely different world. A world of "big I, little You," even more so than today, the elitist-democrat-blue blood North Carolinian's presented their young debutant daughters to society at the large Torriscopian Ball in Raleigh, state capital, each year. It was a grand, high society, flurry-fantasia of ball gowns. Acceptable young men of the states "rich and famous." The democrat bible, the "Raleigh News and Observer", big spread of photographs, the states prestigious family names, prestigious colleges.

As poor as we were, my father always found the money for a 'News and Observer' subscription. Mr. Bill Spivey, driving fast, had the ability to throw that paper onto our front porch. I was not always blind, young, I devoured every article in the paper. I was not envious of the rich, only amazed that my God of love and glory could witness such a disparity among people, especially the disparity between believers and non believers, healthy and sick, disabled and Olympians, gowned and tuxedoed Torscopians, obedient to Satan, God's chosen-poor-tenant farmers-cotton mill workers, just trying to survive. Please God, before I die, tell me why the uneven playing-living field.

This totally blind veteran has a particular empathy toward, blind Bartimaeus, standing-begging outside the walls of Jericho, he has a very special place in my heart. You must put flesh and blood on all personalities found in God's book. This blind world traveler has seen the disabled-disenfranchised, begging all over the world. It is a trifling- awful- sorry human being, in this 21st century nation, content to be wellfare dependant. The disabled have a God given desire to take care of self. Many unable to work- produce, at least will beg, which is the hardest work in the world. The 21st century Christian knows it is hard work because Christians have made the church a beggar group (the church a group of believers). Even most civic clubs, "do-gooder organizations" have been forced into begging for their support. God is in good company with the beggars of the world. For 2,000 years, this side of the cross, instead of Christians cheerfully giving, the church has learned to live on "tips"- missionaries and ministries going out to do good, must from within, beg for support.

Eighty years ago, poor home, poor church, poor community, I first realized that God had to depend on "what was left." It was the depths of the great depression, my father and the pastor, going through the community begging church members to support "their" church in needed repairs. A concert class from the orphanage would come to the church-song program, etc, hoping for a few dollars of support in a free will offering. The first pastor I remember told me that he drove to the church on weekends just hoping that members would "pound" him with food so he and his family could eat during the week. He told me about one man in the church, I remember him and his family. The man never taught a class, prayed in public, but was faithful in attendance, and on most weekends there would always be a big watermelon, a bag of beans, even a "frying chicken" in the back seat of the pastor's car. Mr. Raymond's Christianity was very restricted in the church house but he showed the real thing in the church yard.

Egypt was always portrayed as the sinful world. Abraham went down in Egypt and came up out of Egypt. The children of Israel went down into Egypt and God miraculously led them, several million, from bondage in Egypt...and as Paul instructs and in sample to us. We should learn quickly that the old hymn is wrong, the Jordan river is not death, Cana-promise land-Heaven is not infested with Cananites and Philistines. There should have been no doubt in the children of Israel's minds that they had anything to do with their deliverance. (God parted the sea-drowned 600 chariots, provided water from a rock, bread from Heaven, etc).How soon, in promise land of milk and honey, THEY FORGOT THE SLAVE MASTERS WHIP, hankering for cucumbers and melons. How soon they forgot to keep the law in the promise land of milk and honey. Like today's Christian, straight out of the Baptistery, perhaps even the Lord's table, polluting the born again- new creation mind, thinking about the days at the night club, the activities of the unsaved neighbors and friends down the street.

In Christ, you are not your own, forever changed, "bought with a price" (1 Cor 6:20). In the very beginning, Garden of Eden, God established His rights, the whole world a beautiful garden, abundant-fruitful trees- just one tree that was his. YOU DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO EVERYTHING. If the tree of knowledge of good and evil had just been about evil, they probably would not have bothered. Children by the time they are six years old should know about boundaries, lines. We learn early about possessions, what's mine is mine. Early, we should learn that God owns everything.

God ultimately owns everything. IF there is any reason at all for a funeral after death, it is not to stare at a the deceased laying in a casket. It is not to hear our eulogy by a family member trying to cry and talk at the same time. Perhaps there is no better time in the world than at such a service to remind those who still see and hear that all will ultimately reach this place. The funeral is the best place in the world for evangelism. The Sunday school, vacation Bible school, are the only places you will ever reach most children. Most young people, once they leave home and the home church, will never again be reached. Like blind Bartimaeus, like the palsy, lepers, sick and infirmed of every type during Jesus' time and the first century church, those who are lost are in the same condition. Caesar and most Roman emperors wanted to be called, "Lord", looked upon as gods. Think of the barriers during the 33 years Jesus lived on earth, the Paraoxon of Jewish law, cruelty of Roman occupation. Today's disabled are quieted-secreted away from the public, institutionalized, "out of sight, out of mind." Ancient times, the disabled (largest minority in the world, numbering about 30%) were in public view, such as the man begging 40 years outside the gate beautiful of the temple (Acts 3:2).

Think of the poor, ought, blind, crippled, of Jesus and his disciples' time, right on to the 20th century..a time before tranquilizers, prosthesis adaptation. Medical doctors are just proficient with drugs and surgery. The body needs minerals which God has supplied in the "good earth." Hospitals are a corral-Petri dish for germ mutation. Not just supplements, not just exercise and foods supplying nutrition, get God involved in your sicknesses and infirmities.

If as individuals, if as a nation, we are anathematized, cursed for our disobedience, it is because of a sense of expedient- not expediency. When one is expedient, he seeks the practical instead of the provident.

Following college, the military, knowing full well ones chances and opportunities, living in a solid democrat state, knowing full well how my parents, grandparents and ancestors had been treated as republicans, I registered as a democrat. EXPEDIENT. Parsing my convictions, to make a head way. I now call such action hypocrisy. Anyway, like a butterfly swimming through molasses, an attempt was made to serve my country politically in a cauldron of liberal deceit. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO DEBATE EITHER SIDE OF AN ISSUE. I became a rabid democrat, even a state officer. It was while I was sitting at a luncheon table with Governor Terry Sanford, Congressman L.C Fountain, hearing them say, "North Carolina will always be democrat because we cater to the whims of all minorities and every person receiving a government check." There was nothing in their conversations about right and wrong, constitutional or not, strictly political advancement-duress. It is so obvious. I recognized this, why can't others? Blacks, Jews, other minorities, wrapped in a blanket of liberalism to disguise and defend historic problems they had encountered. In the real world, Jews escaping ceremonial law, blacks escaping the shame of slavery, bondage to which no human being should be subjected. It was republican, Lincoln, who freed the slaves. In North Carolina, it was a solid democrat legislature who passed the laws of segregation and discrimination. I have here in my house a cardboard sign, found in the front of every public bus, stating that under N.C law, blacks must sit in the rear of the bus. One of my black friends would cry uncontrollably as he told me his experience returning as a hero of the South Pacific, WWII. In his army uniform, he was forced to sit in the rear of the bus. The second largest Jewish religion is Judaism. The first is Christianity. It has been Christian church conservatives of America that have provided a fire wall of protection for the Jewish homeland, established 63 years ago. (1948) Obama is the most anti- Jewish president in history yet Jews voted 83% for him. The Apostle Paul, probably the most educated Jew to ever live and certainly the entire Old Testament. (Remember, the entire Bible is the history of the Jews. The gentiles, important only as they affect the Jews.) To the Jews, and certainly to the blacks, nothing more important than the family. Paul, the Christian church, talked of wives (1 Corinthians 7). How can Jews and blacks support a political party promoting same sex marriage? The Old Testament, Jesus, a Jew, concerned about children. "But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God" (Mark 10:14). And, he gives the penalty for violating a child (Matthew 18:6). Perhaps, it is because 52% of all black babies are aborted. (USA 3,000 abortions a day, 1,432-black.) Margaret Sanger, liberal Democrat, founder of Planned Parenthood, called blacks..."weeds." How can Jews and blacks support a political party which supports the abortion of children?

A true Republican is conservative in every area of life- physical, moral, spiritual. You can not be conservative spiritually and be a cafeteria Catholic or buffet Baptist, picking and choosing what you want to believe. It makes no difference what you believe, it is what God states in his word. Peter writes to us as "strangers, scattered" (1 Peter 1:1). It takes courage, to put on the whole armor of God and stand against the wiles of the Devil...often alone..often in a remote place...often as a stranger. But, liberal, conservative, whatever, forget expedient, stand. In your economics, in your finances, in preparation for anything which might happen, tight fisted, frugal, stingy, a religious nut, CONSERVATIVE.

This writer learned early that people with a conscience do not work in government. This is the strangle hold that North Carolina democrats kept on the population for 140 years. Democrats, particularly friends and family working in government, there because of registering as a democrat, would tell me of the corruption. All citizens, in and out of government, should be registered as whistle blowers. Until then, we will not cleanse government from corruption. Only those close to the money can get their hands into the bag. So well I remember, the corrupt politician, cousin Layland Spruill, NC legislature as if calling hogs to the trough..."sewy, sewy, sewy." Democrats rule the state, boards of trustees of every state agency, every college, every local fiefdom, even to the school house. And, I will never forgive the greatest supporters of this vulgarity, religions, especially the Baptists, who knew full well what was going on as they preached their doctrine of sins ruin and Christ redemption.

The blood of Jesus around the soil of his cross, Christian needs, cry out at a time like this. The blood of patriots on American and foreign soil, constitutional needs, cry out at a time like this. God gave the best thing he had to offer on the cross, uniformed service people of this nation gave all they had to offer.

Some think that God is just "hanging around," seeing how things will work out. Every politician, every bureaucrat, every plutocrat, talks about freedom. Even freedom in those places of the world that we try to force the issue. Those with tribal instincts who have never known freedom, the Pashtun's of the world, guiding their ethical-religious conduct. As we trip over our idols, can we honestly say we are any better than they? Anyone, any place, loses all freedom when things are more important than basic values.

The real goal of life is the eternal union with God. For those of you who do not believe in God, good luck. C.S Lewis said, "We deal with immortal horrors or everlasting splendor." For those of you who do not believe in God, like your heroes, Carl Sagan, Ted Turner, Bill Gates, Christopher Hitchens, (you name the academic or secular humanist) yours is just here and now, this is it, your only direction is down. Righteousness in the world always builds up...hospitals, libraries, schools. The secular humanist, pornographers, Godless communists-welfare dependence, always progress downward. (They call themselves "progressives," Obama and his ilk.) All those DEPENDENT on the labor of others. The tougher more seasoned, the harder our problems. I kept thinking that God would grant this totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected medical officer veteran, some slack. But, the demons which attacked me 50 years ago, would lose their teeth today on this old, tough, victor over Satan's demons. The tragedy, most Christians do not know that they are at war with demonic forces. Like the radio waves all around us, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places] (Eph 6:12). Eve did not have a chance against that old serpent. Only one time is the word "wrestle" used in the new testament. Paul probably got it from Jacob wrestling God all night, a night in which his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. Jacob, momma's boy, had cheated his blind father Isaac, his brother Esau. You must put flesh and blood on these bible personalities but, God had purposed Jacob to produce the 12 tribes of Israel. The grandson of Abraham, the first Jew, enjoys a special place in history just as Hagar, an Egyptian princess, hand maiden of Sara produced Ishmael, who to this day, has a special turmoil on all newspaper headlines. (Ishmael the father of the Muslim religion, Islam.)

The blind hymn writer (8,000 hymns) Fanny Crosby wrote the hymn, "All the way my savior leads me." She did not say, "part of the way my savior leads me." On "Aunt Fanny's" tombstone, these words, reflecting the woman who broke the alabaster box, "She hath done what she could" (Mark 14:8). We are like worms, like a bug in the grass with an approaching lawn mower, must depend on the "righteous right arm" of God (Isaiah 41:10). To those of you who, in your own wisdom, prefer your own "life skills," you are like the mosquito on the railroad track, shouting at the approaching locomotive, "I don't believe in you," tripping over your idols of education, technology, science, pleasures for a season. (It is truly amazing how quickly the pleasures of sin, sex, money, addiction, self indulging of food-drink, things, vanish.) Anyone who thinks that your idol of the T.V and computer screens will satisfy when eroding facts of disease devours, fool yourselves. Those who still hear that small voice of God are truly fortunate, God has not hardened your heart. God has a plan, perfect, purposed, performed to the last minor detail.

The believer makes it a habit to thank God for everything that happens in his life, the bad as well as the good. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose" (Romans 8:28). Everyone can not claim this promise, only those he called-purposed. In Satan's godless theory of evolution, the historian as well as the scientist wants an evolution of everything. The modernist theologian, "going along to get along" trips over his idols of infidelity, political correctness. The humanist manifesto as a new religion, first in 1933, sponsored by communist John Dewey and agnostic theologians, then 1973, and finally in 2003, all dethrone God, honor the creature not the creator, a matter of human ethics. The great Presbyterian preacher Benjamin Warfield, star ward of the inerrancy of scripture must be turning in his grave that modern Presbyterian's will ordain homosexuals. The great architect Christopher Wren, (Saint Paul's Cathedral, London) purposed, designed everything in perfection, it was not necessary to make changes along the way. It all came out as he purposed in his mind, perfect. No regrets when finished. The very nature of God, his mind will not change. Our finite minds can not grasp the infinite, foreknowledge mind of God (Acts 2:23). Never forget, we are not robots, we are God's workmanship (Eph 2:10). The most absolute, man is responsible to believe.

Charles Dickens described my lifetime as "the best of times, the worst of times" (Tale of Two Cities). This writer lived through Elvis, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, the Bush's 41 and 43, even Clinton and Obama. Before zippers, plastic, synthetic fibers, we thought things were bad during WWII- this was a time when patriotism was real, small business as well as the church, were real. Politicians-bureaucrats-pastors knew that financial largess came from producers, not government employees. Those who solicit funds for colleges, "do-gooder organizations" always hit the small business man, small farmer. Never, never, do you find a government official-employee-bureaucrat, making a gift of any size to charity. Those living off the hard work of others, always take care of themselves. In my lifetime, not only have I seen the entrepreneur, the Christian harassed and debased, but seen a multiplicity of citizen dependency on government, not even including the entitlements of social security, Medicare, college grants, grants to scientific organizations, etc. 100 million American's now depend on government welfare. About half the population pays no tax and yet, one half the population lives off the taxes and hard work of the other half. This is what happens when utopia goes bizerk.

Powerful, the last thing Jesus did on earth was show his love-salvation to a guilty repentant thief hanging on the cross next to him. "But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them" (Psalm 103:17-18). Basic Christianity, basic faith, "action based on belief sustained by confidence." The greatest things we can do on earth is what we do for others, "hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, prison, "One of the least of these you have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:36). Love through actions for a fellow man is an individual, not a government responsibility. "I have spoken [it], I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed [it], I will also do it" (Isaiah 46:11). "The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, [so] shall it stand" (Isaiah 14:24). In the council chambers of eternity, God purposed everything in this world that has come to pass and will yet happen. We are thankful for both the valleys and the hills, trials as well as triumphs. The MYTH OF EVOLUTION extends to history and sociology just as it does to science. David, a man from God's own heart (Acts 13:22). David, a man who knew he was made "my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them" (Psalms 139:16).

God, omnipotent-sovereign of the universe, a purpose in everything, knowing that man would "wrestle" (Eph 6) against the powers of evil in the world, sent a line of absolutes, good and evil (absolutes of molecular weights, laws of motion, notes of music, chemical equations) to give man the knowledge that "he is boss," in control of everything.

The garden in which man and woman were made was perfect-beautiful in every way. Just one tree, man showed his nature to sin-selfishness, pride, ingrate.

In my lifetime, no better example than the end time of life...the no resuscitation order. The P.O.L.S.T (physicians order for suspending treatment) should be carefully considered and more carefully used. A younger patient has a remarkable ability to recover, the human body has a remarkable ability to heal itself. For the older patient, families and trust departments so anxious to divide their things-stuff with each other as well as the government. Over and over we hear the words, "They would not want to live in their condition." The sign outside the gates of Auschwitz, work camps-death chambers read "Work makes you free." The sign before the place where 275,000 disabled were killed, "They would want it this way." With the Nazi's or the neo-ethicists, removing life support was not reversible.

Perhaps this writer lived through America's utopia, opportunity-jump from poverty, the time when you could get your education on your own, build your business on your own, enjoy life without government controls on your own, a compilization of life's resources, resulting in Paul's admonition, "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice." And when we could not rejoice, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phl 4:10).

The world traveler, one with intelligent inquest in interest in governments of countries, the history of their development. One cannot walk the streets of Venice, Italy, study the Borgia Palace right next to St. Marks Cathedral and St. Marks square, without having questions-concern for the ancient princedoms-Monte Carlo, Lichtenstein, etc. One cannot move through the protectorates and colonies of empires (Dutch, Portuguese, French, British, etc.) without wondering how they were conquered and ruled. How did the seychelle islands become a police state, Russia, China, North Korea-communist, Japan and Thailand-kingdoms...princedoms?

Most college students have been exposed to Machiavelli's, The Prince, great work of political literature. At an election season such as we are going through now, it would do us good to dwell on the fundamentals. I truly believe most American's know little and have even less appreciation for the unprecedented history of their own nation. Every time I look at this large, round, cast iron fireplace cooking pot, which hanged in the chimney of my ancestors home's, built in the new world after they left the good ship Kent, I'm enthralled by what it took in faith and sweat, starting with nothing but the good, free earth, to build and conquer America as they buried their dead (particularly women and children) who simply could not endure the hardships.

What is must have been like for the victims of princedoms, all over the world (territory-jurisdiction-sovereignty- rank-estate of a prince). The people of a city-state of a colony were conquered by the sheer force of their capturers, taking advantage of their ignorance. The enslaved, never have negotiating rights with the capture, rather, in fear, they quickly learn obedience. And, there are always a few in the crowd willing to talk the language of the capture and willing, at the price, FAVOR, aid and establish obedience over the captured. A people without faith and self worth are the hardest to deal with. People who have known conquest (such as the African slaves-Native Americans-illegal's) are easier to deal with. The Borgia's rose to power through the influence-arms of other powers, even influential enough to become heads of the Catholic church, always crafty enough to enrich and establish self but, always failing in the end. Most of the world's luminaries, Princes-Kings-Presidents, condemn the enslavement of other people as wicked but secretly admire their strength and cleverness. Cruelty when well used can be justified (Stalin killed 26 million of his fellow Russians, Mao-126 million of his fellow Chinese, Paolo Pot-2 million of his fellow Cambodians. God only knows others betrayed in communism, the wickedness of international greed, the gold of Gaddafi's Libya, oil of Hussein's Irag, the poppy fields of Afghanistan). According to Machiavelli, reliance on mercenaries-BlackWater (contract-civilian-warriors-buildings, etc.) and auxiliary forces, loyal only to money, is a grave mistake. Princedoms learn early that people cannot serve two masters, even God knew that (Matthew 6:24). The Prince-ruler must be educated, war-commerce-political geography and history (must be more than a politician-street organizer-fighter-hack). Reputation is so important, must not be a liar. Giving out money when it is fiscally irresponsible, just to engender a voting base, is a mistake. Machiavelli would warn Mr. Obama that displaying excessive welfare will prove fatal, better safe than sorry, better to be feared than loved. Machiavelli closes his book with a meditation on luck and its role in human affairs.

From 1799, the founding of America, a Democratic Republic, until 1892, we were considered, even by the Supreme Court, a Christian nation. The Christian knows he is at warfare with the world-flesh-devil. THE WORLD IS ANYTHING THAT DRAWS US AWAY FROM OUR TRUST IN GOD. The newest weapon of the world, we may have our Christian belief but have no right to push our morality-belief on others. For instance, held up as an example, Australia's lesbian Prime minister, Julia Gillard, is atheist but she condemns gay marriage.

This old writer, tells you in all sincerity, all of life, every action is either fidelity or infidelity. One can live with 1.) chastity, married or unmarried, 2.) one can survive poverty, this world traveler knows the poorest in this country, live better than the richest in most. Our poverty excuse has become our demise (100 million citizens on welfare, this does not include those on social security and Medicare-half the population of America lives on the hard work of the other half ), 3.) obedience, most obey because of laws, local-state-federal but, there is a higher power to which we must respond whether we like it or not. We are not stuck where we start, chastity, poverty, obedience. The real citizen-real Christian always presents the best version of himself.

Unknown to most Princes, Kings, Presidents or even Prime Ministers, the basis of life, living triumphantly regardless of ones station in life, dressed in the whole armor of God (Eph 6). The greatest knowledge a real citizen can know, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]" (Eph 6:12). Dressed in the whole armor of God, you dig in, do not back up one inch, "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Do not turn your back, not one inch of your back is protected. Remember, words the Prince, President, King, "quisling" rulers of this world do not understand. These are fake rulers. Words of comfort to the real Christian, real patriot, " I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).

The entire world, this time, as every time, thrilled by the London Olympics. The first record of the Olympics, held in Greece, 776 B.C. The one event, was won by Coroebus, running naked. The run was 192 meters, making him the first Olympic winner in history. The Olympics continued every four years for 1200 years, naked people performing, but by 393 BE, so much decadence-pagan influences, the Roman emperor Theodosius I, a Christian, abolished the Games.

Of importance is the DEDICATION of the athlete, routine, time involved, discipline of every type (eating-resting-life habits). One does not become an Olympian by a lackadaisical attitude. There must be a competitive spirit, a sense of desire to be the best. Show me your habits, and I will show you your dedication in any area of endeavor.

Just as there can be dedication to rightness, there can be dedication to wrongness. Our lives are now shattered by the threat of terrorism. We know about the young Islam terrorists who are "brain washed," drugged, and sent to do their dirty deed. They have no hesitation about the consequences of their act. Certainly, a religion that has such a shallow doctrine that a mother can believe that if she names her male child Mohammed, he will go to Heaven, shallow enough to kill and be killed. For instance, Abjula Ahmed Ali and his wife, willing to kill themselves and their child, using the child's milk bottle containing the explosive (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/liquid-bomb-plot-trial-terrorist-418706). We have reason to believe the recent actions of home grown terrorists (Hassan, Ft Hood- James Holmes, Colorado-Yates, Wisconsin). While that might be false flag actions, actions precipitated by government to bring on greater gun control, frightening the public into greater government controls over lives. It is significant that we have sewn to the wind and reaped a whirlwind (Hosea 8:7), secular humanist society. Who, tainted by the killings of the unborn, video killing of the innocent have escaped the Western Christian principles, "are we our brother's keeper (Genesis 4:9)?"

Thank God we still have heroes of the faith. Even those who know little about faith, willing to risk their own life to save the lives of others, this is real dedication (law enforcement, fire fighters, life guards, military, etc.)

This writer still CRINGES, some pulpits, T.V evangelists, profiteering in the name of Jesus. The epitome of all dedication, Jesus Christ's atonement on the cross, the sin barer of the wrath of God, for the sin and sicknesses of the entire world. The problem, the greatest problem of the Christian world, learning that you can not love God, rejoice in his atonement and continue sinning. From Mount Horeb, Moses leading the children of Israel, God providing a cloud of fire by night, the people complaining, tired of manna, tired of Moses. God sent fiery serpents and scorpions, many died. They repented and Moses put a brass serpent on a pole and all they had to do was look at the serpent for healing. (Theologically, the future lifting of Christ on a tree, the medical conduce on every medical officers coat, symbol of healing.) (Deuteronomy 8). Moses, proved his dedication to his people over and over. The doctor, every person involved in health care, long hours of study, proved their dedication to the art and science of health care.

The pace setters-heroes of the faith, the Judeo-Christian world (Hebrews 11). Martyrs of the faith. Most of us would not mind martyrdom if it could be over real quick. For most heroes of the faith, their dedication was proven over a long period of time, Paul, first missionary, jails-beatings-stoning. The earliest missionaries to Africa, often did not live but a few weeks, malaria and other diseases. This writer stood at Goma, Congo, head of the 2,000 mile long Congo River on the banks of which George Grenfell buried his wife and children, first missionary to evangelize the Congo. At his funeral about 100 years ago, a choir of 10,000 Africans sang, "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name."

There are those blessed with exciting genes, remarkable talent, noble ancestry, they are that far ahead of the rest of us. For most, success depends on hard work-dedication. The more you sweat, the more you prosper-accomplish. The mother-grandmother, challenges of child rearing, given by God a remarkable ability to see their dedication down the road. Think of the dedication of a parent with a retarded child, one who is deaf-blind-crippled. There is bound to be a resounding anthem in Heaven, welcoming those who dedicated their lives to those whom God chose as special...particularly the special ones killed before birth (abortion). Lines of behavior are blurred by indifference, unconcern, lack of shame. The secular humanist, devotees to the false religions of communism, Buddhism, will never know the supernatural joy of forgiveness. Down the rocky road of drought, floods, despair and discouragement, they never know the enlightenment from the power of prayer. In a time when Mr. Obama and his ilk are intent on making everyone welfare dependant, the dedicated Christian world should empower all who will listen with the proposition that when you have technology you have what technology can do, buildings you have what buildings can do, military you have what military can do, etc. But when you have prayer, you have what an omnipotent sovereign God can do. The world needs Christians dedicated to the power of prayer.
