Ten Cent Row

On one of my trips to London, I met a couple in the hotel from Arlington, TX. We enjoyed one another's company, went to a play together, and I was interested in them and their background just as I am interested in the background of most people I meet. They were in London buying British antiques for their home in Dallas. But, he was originally from Arlington, TX the area between Dallas and Ft. Worth. He had become a very successful millionaire businessman. He said as a child living in that area, in the cotton field picking cotton, he would see the truck of bottled drinks on the highway. His ambition was to be the driver of a drink truck; because he felt that he would have all the cold drinks he wanted to drink. His ambitions changed; and he and his wife, his assistant, became two of Texas's greatest entrepreneurs.

In the small country school where I graduated (13 in my high school graduating class) I remember the principal saying to a group of senior boys, of which I was a member, ”you boys can do anything you want to do, because you are Americans”. Have our teachers, parents and pastors and other leaders forgotten this, the greatest principal of American life?

After working my way through 4 years and graduating from the University of Chapel Hill, I went on to medical school at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. I lived in an apartment, in a garage, next to an alley in a very disreputable part of the city. Two other young men lived with me. We prepared our own food and lived on almost nothing. There was one grocery store in the neighborhood which had a ten cent row. All the food in this row was just ten cents. Most of the cans were abused in some way, label torn, outside dented. This is where we obtained our groceries which we cooked ourselves.

Going to school with a full schedule during the day, I had a variety of jobs at other times. On weekends, I would work as a shoe salesman, in a large department store (Goldsmith's, Dan Cohen). At night, I sold at one time, cookware. I would buy the groceries, an elderly black woman would prepare the food. I would serve the food at a dinner party for a hostess; and then I would attempt to sell the cookware and method of cooking to her guests. For several years, I sold pre-need cemetery property for pre-need customers in the large Forest Hills cemetery on the edge of Memphis, near present day Graceland. This is a cemetery where Elvis was first buried in the great mausoleum before he was buried at Graceland. The latter was probably some of the most rewarding work of my life; because I had the opportunity to talk to people about a matter which most do not want to consider. When I talk with young people who think their lives are so hard, I have very little sympathy because many of us went to school and received our training before the time of the largess of scholarships and government grants.

The economy will not be solved by people who are not conservative. Liberals know nothing of conservation. Conservation is a mindset, you either have it or you don't. If you were reared in a home where everything was handed to you, no questions asked, you were spoiled to the erroneous idea that it is a “me” world and “me” can have anything I want, regardless of need. This narcissism and lack of discipline will get an individual or a nation into the financial eclipse we face today led by the demon of liberalism, President Obama, a total economic illiterate, and his minions of liberal depravity. Those who have never had to do without anything have never had to work for anything, have never had to wait for anything, can ride in the Communist saddle on the horse of environmentalism, deceiving a dumbed down electorate. The economy will not get any better until self-centered, self-serving opinion molders learn the honor of labor and honesty.

I had two great friends in the military, one a black medical officer, came from the poverty of the Mississippi Delta. From the cotton fields of the Mississippi delta, his concerned parents, working several jobs and saw him through the black medical school, Meharry in Nashville, TN. He knew conservatism and until the military, had never had a pair of shoes except work shoes, brogans. Another, a German Jew, whose parents and seven brothers and sisters died in Hitler's gas chambers, was not exterminated because he was a dentist before the Holocaust. He was kept alive in order to take the gold out of the teeth of those exterminated. After the war, he came to this country, from the benevolence of American Jewry. He attended dental courses at Howard University and then went into the American military as an Army Dental Officer. These two Army officers, like your writer, a retired Army Medical Officer, knew conservatism, knew the principles of the democratic republic which we call the United States of America.

Barber of Seville

One of the most beautiful cities I have visited in Spain is Seville. Rossini's opera “Barber of Seville” brings to the imagination early surgery which was done by the barber. Constantly turning, just outside the door of the shop, was the barber pole, which at one time was the symbol of the barber shop, red and white stripes, symbolic of the blood activity for the barber-surgeon. ObamaCare is almost as fictitious as early health care taking place in the barber shop. Surely there is enough intelligence among the 535 elected citizens in the House of Representatives on 9-9-09 to figure the “quackery” of this President. Like his school, Harvard, which has on it's gate the word “Veritas” (truth), the college newspaper recently carried an ad declaring the Holocaust a hoax, defying European history. Of course, like good liberals, they declared that the advertisement slipped through, “was not noticed”. But, as the editor for 8 years of a publication, I know that all gallery proofs are proofread before publication. Lucifer will not quit. We should know by now that liberals will not quit.

There is a new hero in the country, a congressmen from SC who told this lying President that he was a liar during his speech on 9-9-09. We have been looking for a hero in Washington for a long time. We have finally found one, a real man who will stand up for the ideas of his country. Prissy, John McCain, who we tried to drag across the finish line, to keep Obama from becoming president, is so politically correct that he did not appreciate the evaluation. It is time for real patriots, real Christians, to stand up and be counted.

They buried one of my friends recently, an outspoken critic of today's politically correct politicians and pastors, a man named Richard Carter. He told me the last time he went to church, when the pastor went to defending homosexuals in the pulpit and women preachers, he stood up and said, “Have you ever read Romans 1 or I Timothy 3:2?” He said, “I cannot believe that people will sit in a church smiling while a man teaches a false gospel.” I cannot believe that all the republicans who know better, did not stand with a chorus of liar.

Obama knew the cost of his health care plan but miracle of miracles had no details to support the cost. WE KNOW, that he has already put the country in a debt of 13 trillion and his health care plan will add another trillion dollars, money that cannot and will not ever be repaid. Those who have seen military medicine, health care in public hospitals such as mental hospitals or those of us who know the fallacies and fatigues of VA health care understand socialized medicine. Just as most of the bailout money will be spent next year, an election year, to buy votes, these socialized health care jobs will be taken up by his supporters. In the VA system, only liberal democrats will have the jobs. Recently I was being processed by one of these liberals and I said to my doctor later, “The woman does not know what she is doing.” He said, “The place is full of untrained, political lackeys.” When staying in my NY apartment, I went to the VA facility on 1st Avenue and 23rd St. Without exception, each time the lackey, learned I was a medical officer, their first words were “Please write me a recommendation for my service.” Most did not know what they were doing, but wanted to be recommended.

The world's three largest employers of people are the Chinese Army (totaling 7.5 million, active and reserve), the Indian Government Rail Service (they still use an manufacture steam engines, most travel in this second largest population is by rail. I have traveled with this rail service several times) and the British Health Care System (socialized medicine, robots are being used in all hospitals and nursing homes to do the work such as cleaning and food preparation. As in America, robots are used in the pharmacy, robots can count pills as well as anyone. In an American pharmacy there must be one pharmacist on duty). 70% of all produce found in American grocery store comes from abroad, human beings, backbreaking work, making $2 a day.

Can you even imagine the political appointees who will sponge the jobs in a national, socialist health care system? Confusion and rumors are the rule of the day in this new democrat administration. Seventy percent of Europeans and over 50% of Americans want all troops withdrawn from Afghanistan. Since Rudyard Kipling, an expanse of wanton, hate-filled, country side from the Khyber Pass to Russia, Afghanistan is a wasteland.

The late King Hussein of Jordan, has a surviving brother, Crown Prince Hassan, one of the best known Arab leaders in the Arab world. He said, “Our family are direct descendants of Muhammad and are the best known Arab family in the Hashemite world.” He said, “The Hashemite Arabs will never yield to a democratic form of government.” The US should just “quit” trying to change the politics of the 48 predominant Arab countries, and should spend it's time and treasury supporting it's only democracy-clad ally in that area of the world, Israel. Colonel Kadafi told us that Obama is a verified Muslim. Keep that in mind when you pledge your allegiance to him. When you listen to his diatribes about the economy or anything else. He is an economic illiterate. He is a military illiterate (has probably never saluted anyone except Michelle and has probably never fired a BB gun).

The economy will not be solved until people understand conservatism. The gold reserves at Fort Knox have not been audited since 1959. If all the gold ever taken out of the earth, was in one cube, it would only measure 75.4 feet square. We realize that fiat paper money is worthless. I am very leery of the constant advertisements I hear even on Christians radio, about the good sense of buying gold. It may be that this is a hoax and a heist, also. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: (Matthew 6:20)

Losing Touch

Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. . . (Isaiah 51:1)

As a child, the church was as much a part of my life as my own home. Our family church was built in 1874, just after the Civil War. Both my mother and father's great grandparents were in the church; and they built the large, white structure on land furnished by one of my great grandfathers. The church was very typical of eastern NC churches of that era, wood framed with windows on all four sides, a double door in the front, and pulpit in the rear. A dividing partition ran down the center of the church. The men sat on the right hand side from the front door, the women on the left. When I was a small child and before the educational building was added, each corner of the large building was a Sunday school space, curtained off by draperies. So, there were 4 Sunday school classes. Just in front of the pulpit, on the communion table, was a small round table bell. When Sunday school was over, the Sunday school super intendant would tap on the bell.

I have two homes, one in town and one on the beach. I prepare my own food, (thank God with the help of a microwave). And each time before I eat, I tap on the bell in each house. I don't want to forget “the rock from which I was hewn, the hole of the pit from which I was dug.” I have seen most of the world. I have had an exciting life, have outlived most of my friends; but I do not want to forget the basics of life, the memories of things that have brought me this far.

Tragic is the person who loses touch with the values of life. In our urban lifestyles we have forgotten our rural ancestors who looked with fond memories on the “homeplace”, the farm home where several generations were reared. In the pomp and circumstance of the padded pews and operatic choirs of the city church, we have forgotten the homecoming of the country church with lunch spread on outside tables. Relatives came from far and wide because this was a time for the rejoicing of families in well earned memories, not only of one another, but the graciousness and promises of the Christian life.

It is a sad social recluse who does not enjoy the homecoming at his school or college. In spite of the fact that everyone has changed, everyone has aged. The guys have become bald. The girls have become “less small”.

It is truly tragic that the only time most families see one another is at a funeral. Don't be surprised if your family is the last one to love you in time of need. God is good. You can survive without family. Nearly 50 years as a totally blind, disabled person, only three cousins have been in my house, two of the same mother. One cousin sends me some food each Christmas. Christ told us that we must be willing to give up our family, if we were going to follow Him. My family, generally speaking, are all church goers. But, like so many, are just “playing church”. God, in His unquestioned sovereignty has assured me that my last worry should be my disinterested, unconcerned family. They do not know what lies in their pathway either.

Even denominations lose touch with their doctrine and the fundamentals of their beliefs. Think of the Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Lutherans, who do not object to homosexual pastors or same sex marriage. It must be a depraved church goer, who can sit in a church knowing that a homosexual minister is telling him how to live. STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR MORAL PRINCIPLES. It is a depraved congressperson who can sit in a committee room, making laws to govern people with the likes of a Barney Frank. STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR MORAL PRINCIPLES. It is a depraved state legislator who can sit in a legislative building making laws to govern hardworking, tax paying, God fearing citizens with the likes of R. C. Soles or Julia Boseman. STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR MORAL PRINCIPLES.

Eight times in the Holy Scriptures we learn of the “wrath of God”. We know that the modernistic, liberal church goers just believe in the love of God. Remember, our God is a consuming fire. (Deuteronomy 4:24) Don't lose touch with the absolutes of heaven and hell. Our country is beyond a political battle. It is now a spiritual battle. On 9-9-09 we heard a false witness in the congress promoting the tax paying of abortions (murder of children). Mother Theresa said before her death, “Only prayer will save America.” It is obvious that Christians are not fasting, certainly should be praying. “God is Boss.” The church is not on a majority rule basis any more than a military mission is on a majority rule. When a commanding officer, in time of war, orders “cease that territory from the enemy” the warriors do not have a vote. We are in a spiritual battle. You are on your own in this battle. Your knowledge of God's Word, your liberal minister, will not supply any defense when you stand before God in judgment.

Jesus Christ has never lost touch with you. He never knew what it was like to lose a wife or a child. But he was a man of sorrows (Isaiah 53:3), and understands being tired, hungry, thirsty and knew what it was to work with his hands. He was all points tested, but was without sin, a sinless savior. (Hebrews 4:9). Twice God rested, after the creation of the universe and after the crucifixion of His beloved son, when Christ said, “It is finished”. Never lose touch with the finished work of Christ. Colossians 2:10 Don't lose touch with the fact that in Him you are complete. Everything you do in his name, will be blessed.

Czars and Marx

For many years, I was a member of volunteer services for children in NYC, often called “shelters for children”. This was a group of philanthropy-minded New Yorkers who gave money for shelters all over the world for homeless children. I kept a co-op apartment in NY for many years and became active in this group, traveled around the world with some of their members, developing shelters for homeless children.

At a meeting of the organization on the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, I went to the men's room and as blind people often do, got completely turned around and went to a meeting of another group. Of course, these people didn't know who I was; but it is seldom that anyone will be unkind to a blind person. So, I sat down and listened to what was going on, thinking I was in the right place. I soon found out that I was in the wrong meeting. It was a meeting of a Union group in NY which was mostly Communist in nature. At a little break in the proceedings, one man brought me over some coffee and a dough nut and introduced me to several others. I was welcomed as one of them. They did not have a clue about my political status; and often you learn more if you just stay quiet. At the end of the meeting, a meeting which was much more exciting than the one I was there to attend, one said, we are going over on the west side to a meeting of the local party and Gus will be there. I learned later, after I met him, this was Gus Hall, Chairman of the Communist Party USA, who lived in Yonkers and who died at age 90 around the year 2000.

I have often wondered what people are like who fall into the entrapment of the Socialist way of thinking. I had met some Communists in college and had been exposed to socialism and Communism in various places around the world. But, how and why Americans will get involved in a system which features the overthrow of everything we hold dear in our democratic republic is beyond me. One thing I did find in talking with these young Communists, not one had ever been in a truly Communist country. They had no idea of the enslavement involved. They only knew then, as now, that they hated this country because as they saw the limousines, opulence and lifestyles of the “rich and famous” in Manhattan, they felt they had missed out on the American dream and that there must be a better system such as the Marxist totalitarian “the end justifies the means” control system.

As I studied the Obama political philosophy, his background, those with who he associated, it has been obvious to me that we have a strange combination in the White House, a Marxist Muslim. In repudiation of the Constitution, in direct contradiction to everything we hold essential in our system of checks and balances, he has selected 32 so called czars to handle much of the American system of government and billions of tax dollars. If his health insurance program is passed he will add a health czar, and then a cyber czar and copywright czar, making 35. The other 32 are as follows:

In studying Totalitarian indoctrination in this country, I find that this same group promoting Communism is now promoting environmentalism. Liberals are liberals regardless of name. Those who espouse the philosophy of Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU and for 30 years it's chairman, had just as soon ride the horse of environmentalism toward the Communist-Marxist goal as any other, atheism, gay agenda, etc.

Every time I hear of a large fire such as the one now burning in California, known to be arson, and now covering more area than the city of Chicago, I think of the program they were discussing at this Communist meeting, the topic “draperies and bedspreads”. They had no problem discussing the abominable plan of burning down any city, just by using matches or cigarette lighters, breaking into certain strategic homes and setting on fire the bedspreads and draperies. Sharp shooters would be strategically located near every fire department to flatten the tires on fire trucks. With the wind just right, a city could be completely destroyed in a few hours time. Their plans have probably become more sophisticated over the past 40 years. But, this is what hard working, tax paying, God fearing men, women and children are up against, even in this country.

I have often wondered how young people get so discouraged and so disingenuious that their hearts and minds would be so blackened by hatred towards their fellow man. Perhaps Van Jones, one of the czars, now having resigned his post, is a good example. He was born in 1968, both parents school teachers, active in the AME church, graduated from University of Tennessee Martin, then graduated from Yale Law School. He was active in civil rights groups in Nashville, New Orleans and San Francisco. He was selected as one of the 100 most influential people by TIME Magazine; and Essence Magazine named him one of 25 of the most inspiring/influential African Americans. His problems came from getting involved in three areas of concern: a remark in February 2009 in which he called Congress Republicans "a**holes"; a 2004 signature on a "9-11 truth" petition, the views of which Van Jones then disowned; and a leftwing past including membership of a socialist group and support for Mumia Abu-Jamal. After what Jones described as a "vicious smear campaign", he resigned, saying that he could not "in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future".

Jones is not the only American who supports the almost unbelievable theory that 9/11 was an inside activity such as the burning of the Reichstag in Berlin, leading Hitler to power in WW II. The Reichstag has been a German parliamentary building from 1884 to present. Movies have been made about the downing of the World Trade Center Buildings. Sixty percent of those who investigated the attack, believe that there is more to the destruction than some Muslims in airplanes. It is certainly believed that the attack on the Pentagon was an unbelievable absurdity.

As the congressional leaders in Washington elected to serve the American people, spend their days and nights cocktailing and sexualizing, like Nero as Rome burned, the nation crumbles at the feat of political desperadoes. It is believed that Obama himself, was an employee of the CIA after law school (Business International Corporation, BIC, a front group for the CIA). It is believed that Bill Clinton was in England as a CIA operative instead of an Oxford student. It is believed that George H. W. Bush was for many years a CIA operative. The half is yet to be known about CIA and other intelligence activities in America. It is enough to scare patriotic Americans to death and easily explains why so many get caught up in the intrigue of “isms” that should have been “wasms” long ago. In the early 60's I was acquainted with Dr. Fred C. Schwartz, president of the Christian Anti-Communism Crusade; and I was active in it's organization. It is also affiliated with Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Dr. Schwartz said, “Many young people think the vacancy in their heart not filled with Jesus Christ can be filled by the promises of Communism. How wrong they are.”

Genuflecting to Washington

One of my assistants, the one who is taking dictation now, is also a trainer of dogs. Recently, an army Colonel, veteran of 38 years in the military, asked her to train his dog to salute. Having been in the military so long and having this military courtesy as a way of life, he wanted his canine to extend this military courtesy. And, so she taught the dog to lift up his paw in a salute to his master. Genuflection became a practice in the court of Alexander The Great. It is the bending of one knee to the ground in a symbol of respect to one's superior. It interests me to see this practice in large Catholic cathedrals. It always interested me to see this kissing of the Bishop's ring in an Episcopalian setting. I like the idea of just shaking hands fully realizing that a handshake many times is a direct transfer of germs. I don't get out of the house very much, usually to go to a restaurant. There are always people there who want to come over and greet me while I am trying to eat with my hands. So, they do not usually get a handshake from me. There are parameters of respect in every level of society. Officers expect enlisted people to come to attention and salute in their presence. We are told to never put your hands in your pockets around a superior officer, especially the president of the US. Decorum has it's place in all life activities. Politeness is always admired. I love to know that a son seats his mother at the table. Small things for your parents show the gratitude of your birth.

It is almost impossible for me to even pronounce the name of the present president of the US. I have so little respect for him. But, I had little respect for many military officers. It is a matter of respecting the uniform, not the person in the uniform. One commanding officer of an army hospital where I was on staff was nothing but an old drunk who had reached the retirement age with the rank of colonel and had just been farmed out by the military until he could retire. But he did receive the courtesy accorded by his uniform. This is what we as Americans must endure for the next 3 ½ years. As we endure his crap and betrayal, a set-up piece of work, as he falls faster than a Kamikaze pilot in a dive, we wonder what he will do to regain his notoriety, especially among the blacks and the liberals, his base. He can't start a war, we are already in one. He can't blow up the World Trade Towers again. They have already been blown up. Perhaps a deadly epidemic weaponized by vaccines is a dream or scheme.

In 1792 during the French Revolution, the protesters told Queen Marie Antoinette that the peasants did not have bread. She said, “Let them eat cake.” In the future, when the American people are hungry, Social Services will probably be directed to pass out more worthless fiat paper dollars.

Activities surrounding Goldman Sachs, the US Treasury, the Federal Reserve makes the Mafia look good. It has been the greatest heist in history, the bailout and sell-outs of American industry and her financial stability around the world. The next big bailout will be commercial real estate, followed by all the American college students who are unable to get jobs. State after state, already under water, will go under starting with California and Michigan. This president spent many months trying to locate just the right dog for his family. But he is willing to cram down the throats of the American people, a Socialist health care system, which is a disaster equivalent to a nuclear weapon.

From New York to Washington D.C. there are so many skeletons in so many closets, that regulators are impotent to enforce anything. Madoff's ponsy scheme was small change compared to the ponsy scheme of the US Government enabled by the Federal Reserve. Do you really think that Daschle, Geitner, Rangle or any of the other tax cheats in Washington would really protest financial debauchery in New York?

In the new Socialist America, this president like police state leaders all over the world, is today speaking to his youngest victims, the school children of America. In 1940 and before, the socialist German republic started indoctrinating German school children, commonly known as Hitler Youth, assisting in every area of German military life. Lastly by 1945, the Volkssturm was bringing 12 year old students into Hitler Youth life. The USSR, Socialist Russia had similar youth groups. In my several trips to Russia and in the Balkans, I saw these young Communist youth in uniform standing guard at Communist memorials, ushering at such places as the ballet.

The Communist Youth Party, the CYLC, 73.5 million members, and to which most high school students belong, has it's own daily newspaper, The “China Youth Daily”. Key government and provincial levels are more likely to be filled by it's members.

The Young Communist League is the youth organization of Communist Cuba and was founded at the same time as the Communist Party of Cuba.

When walking by the mummified body of Vladimir Lenin in his tomb, in the Kremlin, Moscow, my mind was tortured that normal looking human beings could be so defiled and enslaved by a philosophy. Vladimir Lenin once said, “Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.”

Your greatest possession is your flesh and blood, the one who bears your DNA, your child. Have you ever considered that of the nearly 7 billion people on the face of the earth today, no two look alike, sound alike. No two have the same fingerprint or iridial flex in their eyes. Your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren will all carry with them the DNA you have given them, the integrity you have given them. Their eternal destination is a matter of your stability, your belief system. Do not allow government or a head of government to corrode the mind of your child by any of this world's deception.

Smell of Dystrophy

The human body is a very resilient being. It has the ability to adapt to almost anything. Perhaps it's greatest adaptation skill is that of smell. You just simply get acclimated to something and then you don't notice it anymore. Years ago, when I arrived by plane in Rangoon, Burma, the stench from the bathrooms in the airport facility was just almost more than a human being of sensitivity could bare. I have found that traveling through most Communist countries that they have no disinfectants or soaps to clean anything. Even the people do not use deodorants. It is an excruciating experience to get on an elevator or get too close to some of these Communist citizens.

The worst smell was when I visited a mental hospital in Rangoon, a hospital filled with mental patients, who were not trained and did not use bathroom facilities very well. I doubt if some of these patients had bathed in years. If one went there with any residual intelligence, it would be gone in a short time.

Hospitals, especially mental hospitals, are notorious for the lack of hygiene. When I arrived as a staff member of the Army Hospital at Fort McClellan, Alabama, an old cantonment-type hospital facility (large wooden barracks type buildings for wards joined together by long covered walkways), all made of wood siding, wood windows, with pipe connections for heat and water, it was old. (There would be a ward for surgery, dental clinic, eye clinic, administration, etc.) My first day as the chief of the eye clinic, I noticed a smell in the place, and I asked, “What is that awful smell?” The NCO's and others said, “With the big fans running in the summer, it is not too bad. It only gets bad in the winter when we have heat.”

This had been a regular ward for a long time, but like all the other wards, had been converted for a new purpose. It just so happened that there was a padded room in the clinic which had a locked door that had never been opened for inquiry, even though each room was supposed to be inspected on a regular basis. After I had been there about 6 months and had become accustomed to the smell, we had a short in one of the pieces of equipment, which required the fire inspector to inspect the building. When he opened the door to this padded room, there was a dead body in the room which had probably been there for a long time. The corpse had become a mummy; but the smell in the room was still strangulating. Of course the clinic was sealed off. Army inspectors came in to investigate. A general “hush” order was put out. Everyone was told not to discuss the matter. To this day, I do not know how long the body had been entombed or what the mysterious circumstances were about. It would make an excellent Alfred Hitchcock movie, some mental patient put into a padded room and forgotten.

It is a known fact that people can adjust to anything. We can adjust to the knowledge that everyday of our life, there are people in hell, that there are people on their way to hell; and we are generally unconcerned both as individual Christians and as a Christian Church. IF we believed, we would be doing everything possible to keep people from going to an eternal place of torment. IF the Christians on the Titanic which went down to the bottom of the ocean 100 years ago, had believed that the unsaved on that ship were headed for an eternal hell, they would have done everything possible to reach them before a certain death. IF parents believed in an eternal hell they would make every effort to insure the salvation of their children. The sad truth is most people have gotten accustomed to the smell and they no longer pay any attention.

In a contract, both parties must agree to the substance of the contract. God has given us a contract, paid in full, by His only Son. Our side of the contract is that we accept Him in a personal relationship and His free gift of eternal life in glory. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17).

We do what we do because we believe what we believe. IF we believe in the certainty of death and life after death, we would have no time for just playing around with church, no time for the golf course. IF Christians live their faith before the world, the world would have been saved long ago. The world has become acclimated to the hypocrisy of those who profess but do not possess. The world is much more interested in global warming than they are in the searing heat of hell. From 1660 to the present, the earth has warmed about ½ degree each 100 years. The state-run media visiting this hoax on the public does everything possible to destroy this republic and their latest challenge is to destroy the Christian church, the basis of our democratic, free enterprise, capitalistic republic. Entrepreneurship which made this country great, the Mom-and-Pop business, the small family farm have been degraded to the ash heap of history.

Insurance (AIG, FDIC) is just backed up by pennies on the dollar. Eighty banks have closed so far this year. They have predicted 1000 will close by the end of next year. Your account is supposed to be insured for $250.000. But, FDIC reportedly has about $10 billion to insure all bank accounts. The liberals who have chased industry into Mexico and China are the very ones concerned about global warming in this country and the pollution in those countries. When Mr. Hitler took over the automobile business in Germany, as with Mr. Obama, (General Motors, now Government Motors) he rode around in a large Mercedes. He produced a Volkswagen for the masses.

The Communist movement has been taken over by the environmental movement. Green manure is supposed to make everything smell better. We have rulers in high places who have never known what it is to want for anything. Thank God for poverty and for keeping you out of luxury. Those who have known poverty know the basics of life, hard work, the joy of preparing for a better life, the sweat of discipline, depending on your spiritual and patriotic faith, faith in God and faith in country.
There is on the horizon an amalgamation of the philosophies of Nazism, Communism mixed with Islam. It is time for real Christians, real Americans to get off their knees and take a stand, especially in 2010 and 2012; otherwise your country is gone. In the past 7 months, $23 trillion has been spent by the present administration on bailouts and sell-outs, twice the GNP. We have lost 2.5 million jobs and this president said he would add 3.5 million jobs. There has been an increase of 700,000 jobs, but all in government. Even a Nuremberg-type trial where the spenders wrangle Geithner, Paulson, could be tried, would not erase the smell. Only the verified votes of concerned Americans will erase the shame and the smell.

Pied Piper

According to Grimm's fairy tale, in 1284, the town of Hamelin, Germany, had a great rat infestation. A man named Kurt came into the town to visit his uncle and offered to get rid of the rats. He lured the rats out of town by playing his pipe. The rats followed him to the river and drowned. Then, of course, rid of the problem, the townspeople refused to pay him. But on the feast day of Saint John and Saint Paul, while all the townspeople were in church, Kurt, returned to the town and this time, lured all the children to the river, where they drowned, with the exception of two special needs children, one deaf, the other crippled, who were unable to follow, but gave an account of the act.

This is one of the first times in history that we have seen disabled people put in a good light. Last week, the world Olympics for the deaf, attracting 4000 deaf people, had their games in Tai Pai, Taiwan. We hear of special Olympics for other disabled world citizens. But, I have yet to hear of any games or anything else for the world's blind. We can understand why blind Bartimaeus as Jesus approached near Jericho, said, “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10:47). In ObamaCare, we pray that some mercy will be shown on blind citizens.

There are 70 million citizens eligible for membership in the AARP. Mr. Obama, like most politicians, and following the incentives of representative Claude Pepper, so active in this organization, has just assumed, its liberal potential. Not following tax guidelines, the organization was recently fined $135 million dollars. It only had 1300 people working in its headquarters, keeping a track on things. But, it is reported that the group cut a check for the full amount. Such is what goes on with infiltration of rats in liberal groups such as AARP, NEA, AMA, academics and other unions.

If you don't learn from your own mistakes, you can learn from the mistakes of others. Those of you who voted for Obama, will have plenty of time to repent. Your new health care plan, will be like that of the American Indians on their reservation. They either got their health care before June, before the money ran out, or they got none because after June there was no money. In the new socialized plan, after 65, there will be little or no health care for senior citizens. Maximum health care will be given between the ages of 18 and 40. After 40, senior citizens will be limited.

A recent VA end-of-life planning document “Your Life, Your Choices”, given to all veterans who avail themselves services at a VA hospital, seems to encourage veterans to make life-ending decisions by considering several scenarios in which they might consider their lives not worth living. This is reminiscent of early 1930's in Hitler's Germany, when 275,000 disabled Germans were exterminated because the populous bought the Nazi doctrine that, “in their condition, this is what they would want”. Much like the same mantra, promoted and published before the Jews entry into the gas chambers, “this is being done for the benefit of your country.” We always want everything for the benefit of the many, at the expense of the few. Never sign an organ donor card. Medical histories are being punctuated by helpless, live citizens being put to death by a nebulous alliance of unconcerned next-of-kin with medical personnel anxious for fresh organs for transplant.

God directed Abraham to leave the wealthiest home in the Middle East in Ur of the Chaldees, and traveled 600 miles north, just on pure faith, he took with him his nephew, Lot. Abraham, the first Jew, did not have to take his nephew and when there were problems with their herdsmen, did not have to give nephew, Lot, first choice of grazing land. Lot chose the more fertile land, along with the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah from which uncle Abraham had to rescue him. Lot lost all, even his wife, who was so seduced by wickedness, she was turned into a pillar of salt. (Genesis 12 and 13). Symbolic of God's value placed on the compound, salt that it is the saving entity of the world, but turned towards sin, it is worthless.

The rainbow reflects light the same the world over, just as a drop of water refracts color in light the same the world over. Technology has changed the world, but it has never changed human nature. There are certain absolutes, the absolute of the atomic weights of the Periodic Table, the elements' exact color in analysis, the absolutes of the 12 notes or tones in the rhythmic scale, the absolute of the laws of motion, the absolute that man is a flawed, sin-cursed, covetous, prideful descendant of original sin.

More families are split up by inheritance than any other way. Children who sat at a dining table with their parents when growing up, saw their parents working hard in order to leave an estate for them, many times will not speak to one another after the estate is divided. So afraid are they, that one will get more than the other. Usually, the smaller the estate, the greater the animosity. I have lived in my present house since it was built 40 years ago. Neither of my two brothers have ever been in my house, because at the insolence of my one sister, they all became so contemptuous in the settling of our parents' estate. I had nothing to do with the estate settlement. My name was even fabricated on documents.

Take great assurance in the sameness and sureness of God. When anyone questions the voracity of God's Word, I point to the universe wherein, in it's vastness, he used just five words which have never been repudiated. “He made the stars also.” (Genesis 1:16). Light travels 186,000 miles per second. It takes 2 ½ days for light to travel from the nearest star, 93 million miles away. Yet, the very hairs on your head are numbered. Question this power if you dare. Imagine mere mortals, made in the image of God, joint heirs with Jesus Christ, confusing limited intelligence with the omnipotence of God.


This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

Health Gauntlet

In studying health and trying to protect your health, you feel you are running through a gauntlet, being hazed from each side, by those who do know and those who don't know about the importance of health care. One of the first things my physiology professor said in school, the body has a remarkable ability to heal itself. In dealing with patients, this is something I kept uppermost in my mind; although most patients, do not feel they have received any dedicated care, unless they can walk out of your office with a prescription for chemicals, for which they must sweat out much money.

As a university student, working in the medical school at UNC Chapel Hill, (only a 2 year school at the time), having been reared on a farm, I assisted Miss Pickard, the Medical Librarian and Dr. W. C. George, head of the Anatomy Department, with their adjoining farms, (their hobbies when not working at the school.) in discussing being reared in the poverty of an Eastern NC farm, he said, “You poor thing, eating fresh vegetables and drinking fresh well water, I bet you ate berries off bushes in the woods and the ditch banks. You will probably live a long healthy life.” He knew just as other health professionals have learned, that it is what you put in your body, that determines your health, certainly not the genetically engineered and modified vegetables and fruits such as seedless grapes and tomatoes and corn, which is grown with active disease prevention.

Later, in practice, as I have discussed in another commentary, I became acquainted with two old doctors who firmly believed in treating illness with food. One, so opposed to chemicals in drinking water (chloride, fluoride) was a candidate for congress at age 100. God designed food for your knowledge and treatment. Slice the carrot across and see the iris and pupil of the eye looking back at you. Eat foods with seeds and treat all your circulatory problems (strawberries, apples, figs, tomatoes, shaped very much like the heart). Study the layers of the onion under the microscope, they look very much like the tissues of the body; pears are shaped very much like the reproductive system of a female.

The soil of this nation is completely depleted of all minerals. God put every element we would ever need for our living in the soil of the earth. Your body is starving for these elements and that is the reason you are hungry all the time. Just eating the products of fast food and glamorized, radiated, preserved foods will add weight but contributes nothing to your general health. So, one half of the population is obese and most are diabetic. If the body were a battery, it would be 40% depleted. A Chinese maxim says, “If God did not make it, don't eat it.” Another one states, “Eat fresh foods in their season.” You are much better to eat living foods, than dead foods, particularly dead animals. Do you have any idea of the time it takes for you to digest aged steak?

Look in the Bible and determine what you should eat. Like everything else in life, it is the answer book. When patients came to me who were eating pork, particularly such disgusting items, as chitterlings, hogs feet, souse meat, or even sausage, I told them they were “rooting their way into a grave.” There are chemicals in pork which make it very tasty. But any normal, sensible human being with a few brain cells still functioning, would know that there is no animal on earth that is as dirty as a hog. I will give you a written guarantee, that if you eat wieners made of pork, you will become diabetic.

Pain is your friend. When you have pain, it means that there is something definitely wrong. Find the cause of the pain. Do not camouflage the pain with chemicals. Millions are made in orthopedic clinics (since the government pays for it), on joint replacements. Fifty percent of all back surgery results in a worsened condition. But, as I say to everyone seeking hip, knee, etc. replacements, “you know how bad you hurt. But, it is my firm conviction that a reduction in weight and sensible exercise will lead you to keep your God-given joints.” Our genetics are adapted to tropical foods. However, in the winter, there are winter grown foods such as collards and turnip greens which are a blessing to digestion.

Ancestral genes will find you out for several generations. If children grow up seeing beer in the refrigerator, seeing parents drink these damnable, soft diet drinks, expect poor health for many generations. I know of nothing any worse for the human body, than aspartame and sunscreen. The human body must have sunshine, Vitamin D, for survival.

Money from the Rockefeller Foundation has controlled health school education, to the extent that the importance of supplements and clean water and other health disciplines have been left out of the care picture. Remember Senator J. Rockefeller is trying to control the internet, the very place where most citizens learn alternative care. The sheltering of their tax largess from the government to the detriment of other health disciplines besides western medicine, has created, with the help of lobbyists, a consortium of pharmacy greed and medical patronage which has lead health care into the shadows of debauchery.

In the debate about government health care, remember government is a fearful servant, but a much, much more fearful master. The power to tax is a power to deceive. Aldous Huxley speaking at Berkeley in 1962, said, “Get ready for servitude”.

Assembly line medicine, the warts on the present system, by the greed and control of insurance companies, will seem lax for the recipients of Medicare and Medicaid, compared to your loss of all privacy and security with ObamaCare. Number One, the country cannot afford socialized health care. The government is bankrupt. Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are bankrupt. Midwest Free Press reports Medicare is paying out more than it collects and has done so since 2008. The trust fund is only backed by paper. It is so obvious for anyone to understand, even one who is totally blind. I hear alternative practitioners come on the radio, talking about alternative care to chemicals such as homeopathy and chiropractics. Always, without exception, the first caller seeking help for a real problem, usually pain and distress somewhere, will always preface his question by asking, “will insurance pay for this?” For the past 25 years, every time I was in a clinic of any sort, I always asked my driver, “How many people are here? How old are they?” The place was always full of old people, most of whom would not be there if they were paying for the care themselves. How many of your friends actually check the insurance payment to see what was charged? Since the insurance or government was paying for the treatment, they do not care what was charged. You can be sure that if a single tax payer, the government is paying for everything. Most will run to a doctor or hospital for any or everything.

Stay fit. Stay physically fit. Stay emotionally fit. And most important, stay spiritually fit. Remember, our blessed Lord, who died for our sins, died for our healing. By His Stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Washpot in the Backyard

I was raised on an eastern North Carolina tobacco farm at the time of the wash-pot. The large, black, iron pot measuring about forty-five inches in diameter, around which a fire could be made used for the boiling of clothes in the laundry procedure of the wash-tub and scrub-boards. There were no water pipes in the White House until 1900; there was very little inside plumbing in eastern North Carolina until around 1930. The average farm family were happy to have a hand water-pump. Many people would still draw water out of the well with a well bucket. The wash-pot was used for weekly laundry, the making of lye soap, and the processing of lard when the hogs were slaughtered. It is a large black cauldron which most families want to forget, very few are old enough to remember, and those who used this necessity in farm life are long gone to another world.

Of course the wash-pot was not just used on the farm; most families in town did their laundry the same way and the clothes line was no stranger to any class. The washing machine and clothes dryer are relatively new appliances in the American home.

We have left such primitive laundry procedures behind but the need for cleaning is as necessary as ever. Not just our clothing but the dirt and corruption of the American lifestyle.

Nowhere is there a need for transparency and cleaning any more than in our political system. Malcolm Muggeridge, the great writer, said, “New news is just old news being heard by new people.” Political payoffs, nepotism, greed intrigue, predated Noah's Great Flood but is as recent as today's newspaper. We don't have to discuss Mr. Obama's crooked friends: Geithner, Rangel, Paulson, etc. We can find such, much closer to home. Some have already gone to jail in North Carolina: Black, Wright, Decker, etc. The escapades of the longest serving NC legislature is an embarrassment to every hard-working, decent, tax-payer of the “Old North State”.

Mr. Erskine Bowles, president of the University System, is supposedly angered by the incredulity of evidence oozing from the various campuses concerning such immoral, un-refuted accounting striations as the ex-governor's wife, Democrat prostitution of a system supposedly sanitized. Of course, Mr. Bowles, member of the board of directors of General Motors Corporation, should be well familiar with Democrat Party internal pollution. There is not enough Lysol or other disinfectants manufactured in this country to fumigate the Democrat Party in North Carolina and its infestation in all North Carolina life.

Mr. Bowles wrote me a letter stating that the Republicans voted for the Easley fiasco. There are no real Republicans on the Board of Governors. They are RINOs, Republican in name only, otherwise they would never have been appointed. Everything that goes bump in the night is not Santa Clause.

I remember the time when only white Democrat males were on the boards of the black colleges in the state. I remember the time when there was not a black, woman, or Republican in the state legislature. I am probably one of the few Republicans in the state who has ever seen the magnificence of the top floor of the Moorehead Planetarium building where the University Governors meet.

Even though very few poor people or blacks attend the University System, they, more than any others, will be paying the new additional one cent sales tax afflicted last month by the Democrat Governor and legislature.

It is an insult to the NC taxpayers and should be an embarrassment to decent people around the world that the NC legislature shows such a mockery of the state motto “To Be, Rather Than To Seem - Esse Quam Videri”.

At the dedication of the legislative building in 1960, in full military dress uniform, I walked across the great seal on the pavement in front of the building. A reporter from an eastern North Carolina paper said to me, “What does 'Esse Quam Videri' mean?” I said, 'It means 'slippery when wet' and it will be wet with the tears of the poor people from this state who are trying to pay the taxes for this extravagance.” The building was only the beginning of the extravagance as the Democrats, one hundred years in power, built more and more monuments to themselves while neglecting the most basic demands of good government:

One: Mental Health: Since the time when, as a child, I saw the annihilation of the black inhabitants of the “Hospital for the Negro Insane” at Goldsboro, until the present-day Cherry Hospital mockery, how long can this charade go on? (I understand one-third of the patients who leave the mental hospitals have no follow up at all. I understand around $600 million has just disappeared from the mental health funds.)

Two: Prison System: Revolving doors, throughout the nation, have been removed from buildings because of their attraction to criminals. (stealing purses from women caught in the revolving doors) The revolving doors are alive and well in the “Tar Heel State”. Out on parole, very few parolees are contacted. Even the president of the UNC-CH student body, almost under Mr. Bowles' nose, was killed by a parolee.

Three: Education: I have a collection of political advertisements going back to the campaign of Terry Sanford, always with the same political nomenclature “why Johnny can't read”. Those of us who experience the products of education; who try to employ some of the sixty-eight percent who graduate of those who enter high school, know that most although they have a piece of paper, cannot read, spell, or punctuate. As important as the teaching of reading, writing, and arithmetic in our public schools, is physical fitness, emotional fitness, and spiritual fitness.

Our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who used the wash-pot in their backyard for their laundry, their soap-making, their food preservation, had mastered the rudimentary concepts of education and political morality. Stay fit for life. Discipline determines character and character determines destination.

Tomato Plants

America is the truest example of what George Bernard Shaw meant when he said, "Democracy is a form of government that substitutes election by the incompetent many for the appointment by the corrupt few." Obama is upholding the tradition and MORE. In fact, in less than six months, he's done the impossible. With congressional Democrats, he's compiled a worse record than even his fiercest critics feared, worse than George Bush, straight across the board on both domestic and foreign policies. The worst just may be the proposed HR 2749: Food Safety Enhancement Act (FSEA) of 2009.

According to this new law, all registered facilities will be subject to federal inspection as well as a registration fee of $500; in contrast to current law that applies only to ones engaged in interstate commerce. The FSEA also requires all food producers to make their records available to FDA inspectors on demand. It applies to "production, manufacture, processing, packing, transporting, distribution, receipt, and holding of food in any format and at any location." (I can just see my mother submitting her churned, molded butter for inspection and my father taking the inspectors to his hog pen.)

Run by industry officials, the FDA is a front group for agribusiness, Big Pharma, (Monsanto, etc.) and other related industries it "regulates." If enacted, FSEA will greatly increase its power and limit judicial restraints on its actions. Although some provisions address improving the "mainstream food system," the potential for "inappropriate application and enforcement" is worrisome because the bill's language, as usual, is vague and deceptive. It also doesn't define greater FDA authority or explain how it will empower agribusiness giants at the expense of small farms, local producers and consumers.

According to the FTCLDF (Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund), the "FDA would now be empowered to go on a 'FISHING EXPEDITION' and search records without any evidence whatsoever" of a violation. Further, "farmers selling direct to consumers would have to provide the FDA with records on where they buy supplies, how they raise their crops, and a list of their customers." Imagine this! Currently, examination only applies if there is "a reasonable belief that an article of food is adulterated and presents a threat of serious adverse health consequences or death to humans and animals." (Most small farmers do not have the college diploma to weaponize or genetically engineer food, as do those who are weaponizing the vaccines being forced on the public.)

On the family farm, no longer will the cat venture to the dairy barn and God help us if the family dogs chases a hog that has rooted out under the fence.

I am a product of an an eastern North Carolina family farm. Under Obama-care, we would never have survived! In fact, most of eastern North Carolina and indeed the USA would be one big graveyard where those trying to survive on the farm would die of hunger trying to meet Mr. Obama's inspector's regulations.

In WWII, when the whole country was on war alert, my relatives, even in town, grew tomatoes and other nourishing vegetables among the shrubbery around their houses. My mother, hauling nicely cured pork products from the family smoke house was never questioned about processing. Family, and others who were anxious to buy such, never asked about inspections or what feed the animal had eaten. Most of the hogs were fed from the 'slop bucket' and only a millionaire, like Mr. Obama, would have turned up his nose at such food. Around the world, I have found that hungry people are glad to eat good food when hungry.

As our colonial fore fathers moved west, four life-saving measures were important, none of them regulated or inspected; to have a good horse for transportation, secondly, to have a good gun for defense, thirdly, to have God's answer book, the Holy Bible, for instruction in righteousness and, fourthly, Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, still used to this day in every law school in case there were any disputes.

When I was a much younger man, the great Wake Forest law professor, Dr. I. Beverly Lake, said to me, “I am a Jeffersonian Democrat.” Jefferson said, "Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government" and "No one has a right to sit in judgment over another." Jefferson, as well as Dr. Lake, are turning in their graves to think that this country has become a communist, totalitarian, regimen of evil.

When in communist China, on a communal farm, I was being shown the hog 'galleries' as I saw in other communist countries (Yugoslavia, Hungary, etc.). A bureaucrat with his little briefcase was walking ahead of me, making notes on his clipboard. I said to my communist guide, “What is that all about?” He said with a shrug, “The inspections never stop. We are enslaved, even our hogs are slaves.”

Liberty and freedom is your ability to exercise your liberty and freedom. Primitive man, in his effort to find justice, would hold an accused, underwater to ascertain guilt. If the accused drowned, he was guilty. The next time you good people put any tomato plants in your backyard remember in this new Obama totalitarian life, you may be water-boarded to ascertain your fitness to grow tomatoes.

Thinking Outside the Cage

One of the great families of Eastern NC was the Weil family, a remarkable Jewish family, owner of large department stores, farms and other investments which employed many. Their largess was felt around the world. Once in Jerusalem, I was in a large hospital and in the meeting room, I saw a dedication to Miss Gertrude Weil. This was one of her many philanthropies. In Goldsboro, their was a large park, called the Herman Weil Park, a gift and memorial of the Weil family to this great man. There was a large bandstand, many rides for children, animal cages (monkeys, lions, bears). As a child, and on through life, the bears were always walking from one side of the cage to the other, testing the bars, a sign of mental depravity. It was obvious that even if they could escape their cage, what would they do on the outside of the cage. Behind bars, they had everything to maintain life, shelter, food and water. On animal safaris in Africa, I saw every type animal in the wild, with absolute freedom. I know what Darwin meant by survival of the fittest because the animals actually blended into the foliage. But, they were free and had everything needed for their freedom.

It is such a tragedy that so many tears, so much blood has been spilled for the freedom of the American people. I was just talking with a lady in her 90's about her friends who are now caged into nursing homes where they have shelter, food and water and never have to worry about anything. How sad it is and what a rebuke to the hardworking people who have made this country great that today's children are content to sit inside the cage with the felonious pacifiers of television trash and game sensations. Children, like welfare recipients, become victims of the cage life, food, drink and entertainment.

According to the CDC, ¼ of all children in the USA are overweight. There is a diabetes epidemic. There is no cure for diabetes, only treatment. The reason for diabetes is that children and even adults put the wrong foods in their throats and do not get enough exercise. It's as simple as that!

Until 1900, 70% of all Americans lived on a farm. Farm families today comprise !% of the population. Farm land has been taken over by large corporations such as Monsanta. In fact, farming has become a corporate production. These large farming corporations are buying land in the Ukraine, Brazil, Canada. Farm corporations where there is large machinery and agricultural specialists like the production and bottom line chicken and hog factories, produce much more with much less. For instance, in Brazil, you can produce two crops in one season. As the combine harvests the crop in a field, the tractors are going behind turning the ground making ready for a new planting.

On the family farm everyone worked. The soil had not been depleted of it's God-enriched minerals. The food at the family table was healthy. The many children necessary for the farming operation did not complain about boredom or lack of exercise. According to today's federal regulations my father would have been accused of child slavery. Fifty years ago, members of the government, commerce, military professions all would acclaim the virtues of hard work, risk and responsibilities and the hard life of farm living, and how it had contributed to the nourishment of this nation.

In the farming areas, which covered all areas, except a few villages and towns, if there was trouble on the farm, each farmer had a tin horn which he could use to call for help. Imagine a time without telephones, electric lights, piped water. Most farms had a large iron dinner bell, which summoned all the farm workers to the house at meal time. At a time of fire or other disaster, the horns and the bells would signal distress. Since most fires began in the kitchen, and it was necessary to keep a fire going in the kitchen fireplace constantly, the eating-cooking building was separate from the rest of the house. Today, you can go to most any large country home, one that survived the civil war, such as the one in which I was reared and it is obvious how the cooking rooms have been added to the living-sleeping house, by connecting rooms. The stables for the work animals were located away from the barns because a barn fire, one of the greatest tragedies of farm life, would burn the horses and mules. Farm life was a matter of survival and through experience they had learned how to do it. Farm families, working out of the cage, (little time was spent in the house), knew the God-given integrity of putting seed into “the good earth”. Farm children knew the excitement of the birth of a calf or pigs. Farm children were even excited about the birth of a new child in the home or community. I cannot fathom a child reared on the farm not appreciating the gift of life.

From the present president to the sheriff, most of today's political, academic and spiritual leaders are evil people. They are sold out to the devil. If you can find 1 or 2 born again Christians in your local city and county leaders, your state legislature, your national congressional membership, you have truly done some looking. Let us pray for politicians and pastors who hold fast to God's Word and the precepts of the Constitution of the United States.

Awesome Gorillas

Our God is an awesome God.
He reigns from heaven above.
With wisdom, power and love,
Our God is an awesome God.

Awesome is one of the new and much used words of the last decade. One young man told me that he went through basic training by singing constantly which I gave you in the beginning, “Our God is an awesome God”. I never went through basic training because I entered as an officer. But, many times in my military career and since as a totally disabled veteran, I must depend on an awesome God. I do not see how anyone, regardless of lifestyle
can face tomorrow without an awesome God.

I was on the continent of Africa many times. One of my most memorable trips was a gorilla safari. It would take a long time to describe the magnificence of such an undertaking; but suffice to say, my guide, a driver, and some pygmies (small, African natives) took me into the jungle where a family of gorillas were living. This was in the undeveloped areas of the Congo, untouched by civilization. The Congolese government was so interested that I might get harmed in some way, they sent a military officer along to go with me, throughout the excursion. He and the pygmies were so protective, that even when we disturbed a wasp's nest, they took all the stings. I had five cameras in my camera bag; and we came away with fantastic pictures of the gorillas in their natural habitat. The great grandfather gorilla with his silver mane and members of the entire gorilla tribe were awesome beyond words to describe. Having been their previously, the Dutch guide advised me by letter before I left, to buy gifts for the pygmies. I carried them ball caps and t-shirts. The guide said this is the greatest day of their life. I had medicine for almost anything in my camera bag. I gave medicine to the officer and guide for their wasp stings. It then occurred to me that the pygmies had never been attended by a doctor before. So, I made their day, their week, their world, by putting medicine on each sting of these people who had never worn shoes. Their feet looked more like hooves than feet. THEY ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD ALSO. Like you, they only had one life to live. My seeing the physical depravity of so many people in the world, has made me very intolerant of those in the world who have so much.

The gorillas and the pygmies both enjoyed freedom. They were not encapsulated by any control group. It is time for Americans to proclaim their liberty as did the children of Israel. Leviticus 25.10. Perhaps the oncoming H1N1 flu inoculations will give you a chance to proclaim your liberty. I cannot recommend anyone taking this patented vaccine (vaccine patent in 2007) which has been weaponized by several viruses. It is untested and we certainly do not know it's potential consequences. Directives have been sent out from WHO; and billions will be made on this scare. Fear is a mind killer. The 1918 epidemic started with the military. It is significant that the same public health directives for fighting the 1918 flu are still being used, washing hands, washing clothing, etc. First to receive the the vaccine is the military. All military personnel will be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus, and the vaccine will be available to all military family members who want it, a Defense Department health affairs official said on September 1, 2009. (American Forces Press Service) It is believed that directives from WHO and Washington have gone out to every state health department giving instructions about mandating the flu vaccine to all citizens, particularly pregnant women, children and young people. We believe arrangements have already been made for the quarantine and confinement for people who refuse to take the untested vaccine.

The scary thing about government control using an epidemic or threat of an epidemic for encouraging and even enforcing an untested vaccine on people when we know of the repercussions of many vaccines in the past, (Salk, Sabin) is too much for taxpaying, hardworking citizens, veterans, and even health care workers to swallow. It is believed that the military will be used to enforce the inoculations. The average citizen will relent when a person with a weapon comes to their door demanding compliance. We have spent trillions of dollars preparing military forces to fight battles now to have this turned on us, who paid for it.

As the American military was escaping Saigon, Vietnam, in defeat, as the helicopters were scooping the remaining Americans and their supporters off the roof of the embassy, Chinese-built tanks were entering the outskirts of Saigon, driven by teenage boys, with a passion for defending their country, who had never seen a paved street. One of my friends, CIA behind the lines operative said, “Vietnam was symbolic of patriotism. They would have fought to the last drop of blood.” If Tribal Government in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and even Iraq is what they want, it is their country, let them have it. We have enough problems with a democratic republic here. When will we learn not to get involved in these religious conflicts (Sumi vs Shiites, etc.)? Global involvement contributes to the wealth of the industrial complex, foreign entanglements with which we have been warned, (Washington, Eisenhower). The US is gullible enough to spend it's wealth on such enticements as “Global Warming”, at the very time that this nation is experiencing the coldest summer in decades, with prospects of a severe winter. Relax, democrats, your Mr. Gore, is making a billion dollars off this fiasco. The health care turmoil going on now is the best example you will ever see of a bloodless revolution, a government taking the last vestige of freedom from a nation. Totalitarian control usually comes at a great price in lives. There are enough patriots left, enough real Americans who have worn the uniform, enough mothers who truly love their children, to again say with Patrick Henry, “Give me Liberty or give me death.”

“School Days” is an American popular song written in 1907 by Will Cobb and Gus Edwards.
The greatest memories in family life, school, primary, elementary, high school, even college and university. As I tell every college student who works for me, as I told my own son and my two grandsons, “Enjoy, it is the best time of your life.” Here are the Morris 10 rules for success in school whether first grade or professional school.
1.No TV on weeknights.
TV is a waste of time. At one time, it was worthwhile. I enjoyed hearing my relatives who had never been exposed to entertainment laugh at “I Love Lucy” or “The Ed Sullivan Show”. I never listen to TV now. (I am totally blind and have not seen a television set in 50 years.) But I understand it is mostly trash. And what thrill does anyone get from looking at a garbage can? Lucille Ball (“I Love Lucy”) the wonderful redhead, said about getting old, “Be honest, eat slow and lie about your age.” One night, looking in a window at Saks Fifth Avenue, I engaged conversation with a woman who turned out to be Lucille Ball. We were looking at mens clothing and I said, I never spend much money on clothing, certainly not from a store like this. She said, “I have learned to be good to myself.”

2.Set # of family meals.
Make a family meal a rule at your house. Our ancestors lived like civilized people. They set the table, nice flatware, drinking cups and glasses. Children learned to participate in family conversations. As poor as we were, my mother had discipline at the table as everywhere else. We went to the table fully clothed. We did not eat like pigs at the trough. Have you seen children so misbehaved in public restaurants? Can you even imagine what it is like in the home?

3.Dress for Success:
Children should go to school dressed appropriately. In medical school, we were required to wear white shirts. (I can still remember, I could get six laundered for $1. Now it costs me $1 per shirt.) And, we always wore a tie. We were dressing for success in the real world. I understand, now in some churches, the so called, “preacher” wears a golf shirt. A pastor came to me some months ago, asking my advice about how church members were dressing in his church. I told him that if the new people looking at the older members who “dress up” for church did not get the message, he should remind them that never have people “dressed down” for worship, the greatest human endeavor on earth. I still like to see a professional man or woman, dressed for success if not successful. In the military, a large part of the discipline was presentation.

4.Good breakfast.
The most important meal of the day for a student or anyone else, is breakfast. It is incomprehensible that today's parents will send their children to school without breakfast, or even more incomprehensible to expect the school to provide breakfast when they get there. A school official told me, black children bussed from a housing development, looking out the windows, travel through the better sections of town where there are beautiful homes, arrive at the school where they are marched off the bus, to a cafeteria where they are served breakfast, isolated from the other students. We expect dissemination but the same students already with the sensibility of being different, go to the classroom where they can only learn if seated between white students. Of course, they get a free lunch before being herded back on the bus to go back to their part of town. Black parents, patrons, pastors, should wince at this attitude which they have promoted. Sixty years ago, before cafeterias, children from every economic level carried a lunch box to school. Even worse, is the information that many of the cafeteria lunches are just thrown in the garbage. So spoiled are these children about eating only what they want to eat. I would like to have one of these free lunches every day. Food is not thrown away at my house. Across the globe, I have seen too many hungry children.

5.Family Prayer:
Parents who love their children, pray with them. If no other time, blessing the food before they eat, a practice which your children will never forget, and I pity those with no home memories. It is important to have the daily reading of scripture and prayer before eating.

6.Dedicated homework place:
Each student should have a dedicated homework site for his completion of homework assignments, a place for good posture, good illumination, away from distractions. I still remember the day my mother bought a card table for this. One of her students used the card table, one the kitchen table, etc.

7.One extra-curricular activity at a time:
The school is a good place to learn that you cannot do everything, that you cannot become involved in everything. Involvement in too many extracurricular activities leads to stress with everything, including school subjects. One athletic competition. One art activity. One music activity. One humanitarian activity. All school activity is important, too many a total burden. Everything in school involvement should be enjoyed.

8.Keep everyone busy.
I have never had a boring minute in my life. There is no reason why any child should be bored at any time, with so much school work, extracurricular activities and books on the shelves. On the farm, there was so much activity, so many chores to be done. A mother of several students, along with her own activities in life, must have a computerized mind to keep up with everyone's activities. My mother had a basket where she kept all notifications from school and a notebook where she could enter dates of things. She did not want to miss any chapel program, in which one of us participated, ball game, or other extracurricular activities where parents could attend. God's greatest gift to a couple is a child later in life after the others have left home for college, so that they can remain active in school activities until their social security age.

9.One chance in life for education:
The young mind is sharp and attentive. The young mind soaks up knowledge like a sponge. Life is a long time learning experience, if you are blessed. I have learned more in the past 20 years than in the previous 60.

10.All aboard.
This is a one time ride.
The train only goes on this track one time. Get aboard, you will be amazed how quick the trip. To youth, God gives the energy and vitality for rapid accomplishment. In old age, where we move so slow, we have the memories of climbing stairs two or three steps at a time, of running everywhere in our daily activities. Get aboard, life is to be enjoyed.

Hector Berlioz said, "Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils."

During the years I participated in and attended funerals, I often felt in bearing an old person, a library was being buried. I participated in the funeral of the first graduate of NC Sate University who dies at age 100. He had told me, “I never stopped learning but it came so much easier when I was young.”

Two-Headed, One-Party System

Returning from the Korean War and becoming active again in the early 1960s, knowing how my family had been treated as Republicans, I decided to align my political activity with the Democrats. And so, I became a very active Democrat, even president of the State Young Democrats. Both of my parent's families for many generations, were very active in the Republican Party, a minuscule minority in the state; discriminated against, with absolutely no opportunity to enjoy any job where state money was involved- school teaching, highway department, etc. I knew that if I were going to ever advance in this state, politically or otherwise, it would be necessary to register as a Democrat and become a contributor to the Democrat Party.

Of course, at that time the Democrats were the conservative party in the south and in the nation. The Solid South in the 1960s was all Democrat and very conservative. Lyndon Johnson depended on Republicans to pass his Civil Rights Program. It was not until I attended the Republican National Convention in 1964 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco when Barry Goldwater was nominated, that, much to the insistence of a friend who was a Republican candidate for Congress, that I decided that my principles were more important than any priority or prestige I might derive from the Democrat Party.

I had been sickened one day at the Sir Walter Hotel in Raleigh, sitting at a table with Governor Terry Sanford and Representative L.C. Fountain, hearing them talk of how the Democrats would always control the state of North Carolina because Democrats would always have the black vote, the teacher's vote, all federal, state and county worker's votes, as well as the votes of all other minorities such as the gays and the disabled. It has certainly proven that they were right, since for over 100 years the Democrats have been in lock-step control of the state. But, it did not prove that I was right to stay with such a monopoly party in which not one woman, black, or Republican was in the legislature.

It was strictly a “good old boy” white male government in total control, nepotism, country club, power base who controlled where every tax dollar was spent, regardless of need. I have been in several police-state countries and there is no more control there than in the Solid South, Democrat states. There was not even a Republican primary; rather the winner of the Democrat primary was the winner of the election at every crossroads in the state. If there were a chance that a Republican candidate could win an election (such as my good friend who was running for Congress as a Republican) the legislature would immediately gerrymander district lines.

My big problem then, as now, this 'Bible Belt' state where Christian people are supposed to honor one another, one political party could be so dishonorable. The Christian churches fell right in-line with this autonomous form of government. The blacks, who had escaped slavery one time, seemed inclined to regain their slavery. The cotton mill workers and tenant farmers, just surviving from the largess of white elitists, seemed inclined to regain slavery.

Highway 95-301 to the ocean was the poorest area of the United States-- few paved roads, few utilities, just the scraps from the table and yet voted solid Democrat. The western part of the state, more enlightened, beginning to have some Republican insolence were getting paved roads and better schools. Competition for votes, like competition for everything, brings advantage.

Nationally, the past twenty-five years has seen both parties become almost undefinable. Starting with Ronald Reagan, the liberals in both parties have joined in a socialistic jamboree to eliminate all conservative thought, Republican free enterprise from government and we now have a two-headed one-party system. With Republicans such as the two Bush presidents, conjured from the Rockefellers and other northern liberal factions, the idea of small government, low taxes, family values, and integrity of purpose have been dismantled, dragged right in by Clinton and other socialist travelers, aided and abetted by the media.

The fast-track of NAFTA and CAFTA have seen industry and agriculture disappear. The denizens of change established a plutocracy of control which our fore fathers would vomit to witness. We already see signs of revolution in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. In the 'seize the moment' mentality which led to the French Revolution and the 'no crisis should go to waste' mentality which led to the Russian Revolution, Mr. Obama and Mr. Emanuel, the Jews leading the financial spectacle of bail-outs and sell-outs (Bernanke, Paulson, Geithner, etc.), have water-boarded the American tax-payer into crippling torture.

I have traveled through every Communist country. The difference in the Communist System in the text book type Communist world (USSR, China, Cuba, etc.) is that in the truly Communist state, the enslaved people have everything furnished to them and make no decisions at all (housing, health care, employment, etc.). In this Democratic Republic, called the United States, those who are stupid enough to work are forced to make their own decisions about employment, housing, health care, etc. On top of that, they are taxed to the gills to support those who will not work, who believe that government should furnish their wants as well as supply their needs. The only thing missing to completely establish Mr. Obama's radical government is law enforcement entrenchment. Relax, that is on the way; moving closer and closer everyday.

In the rural community where I lived, the hardworking farmers who had barely survived were so happy to get that little green check from the government each month. One would sit on a little stool by his mailbox and when the rural mail carrier would stick his check in the box, within two seconds his hand was in there grabbing it. Compared to his ancestors, who had lived on fat back and sweet potatoes all during the winter, he felt so fortunate to have “free money”.

The average Social Security check is $1,100, which means many get less than $1,000 and a few $1,200. As with the doctors who thought they were going to get paid well with Medicare, the SS recipients will find that their checks will get smaller as inflation raises prices for everything they use higher. As with the schools who began to take government money, when you take government dollars, you do what government tells you to do. The government will support you in prison or out; in the Communist System, you have chosen life on your knees-- a craving not a praying position.
