Spiral of Silence

Aristotle said, “Beyond your ability to reason, you become a vegetable.” This writer has thought of this many times, witnessing the noise of the present day universe. A society, culture, community, of noise. Bad enough, outside noise... horns, human yells, barking dogs, boom boxes. Where does one find the time to meditate? There is a mentation (mental activity) in silence. Some believe that the earth is 13.7 billion years of age, that a light particle from the furtherest expanse of the universe has traveled 10 billion years to arrive and be seen. Can we even imagine the silence of even the furtherest expanse of the universe? A driver in a Jeep drove me far into the Sahara desert. For miles, nothing but sand and sky, the silence was deafening, when you have become adjusted to so much noise of every type. Blind for most of my life, noise is my “umbilical cord” with the outside world. I have learned to listen, very aware, several radios at the same time. Yet, most non-toxic brains hunger for quietness, such quietness as was lived on the farm, windows open at night. From the large pasture near our home, frogs in the creek, cows munching on grass, the large Collie dogs patrolling, using their own language toward one another, their guard posts of barns, chicken houses, etc.

Human reasoning validates the existence of God. All logic depends on non-contradiction. Satan, with God's permission, controls all areas of human habitation. The greatest joy of human existence, knowing that before the world was formed, God whispered our names, chosen, belonging to Him, choosing a people for Himself. With that knowledge, we can face anything else, and God throws something new at us every day, that is the reason that our relationship with God through Christ is just that, a relationship. It would be so simple if it were just a creed, something we could recite and eternally secure, get it over with. Some think, that just reciting the “disciples prayer.” (Matthew 6) which most call the Lord's prayer, is sufficient. Our Lord's prayer is found in John 17, because the disciple's prayer asks for forgiveness and Christ does not need to be forgiven, He was perfect in every way. I so pity the pretenders, the prejudice, the protestors of faith, who have no realization of the comforting, peaceful, healing, silence of those of the Holy Spirit within. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (John 14:16,17)

Do not trifle with God OR those who are His. “He has given us the armor with which to go into battle.” “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:11,12) T”here is a time for silence and a time to speak.” (Ecclesiastes 3:7) Possessors of God have been silent too long, as we have watched a masquerade politically and spiritually. The whole “armor of God” covers your entire front, controlled with a belt (girded) of truth. It is just necessary to dig in and “stand”. Your back is not covered, don't turn your back on the enemy.

Christianity, a history of solid people. Abraham was probably the richest man in the world at his time. Trace the twelve sons of Ismail, Princes with their own Kingdoms. Isaac, Jacob, foundations of Judaism. Paul, brought the church into existence, it would otherwise have been just a branch of Judaism. When you read Paul's letter to the Romans, you realize that he was a man of unusual education, preparation, associated with the nobility of his day, Rome and other world centers. Historically, unbelieving elitists have not recognized the basic qualities of the church, then and now. Silence is golden, but God loves the praise of His people. (Psalm 22:3, Matthew 21)

Christianity is not an illusion or delusion of word games. You are not your own. You were purchased at a great price. Jesus, the full, sufficient, wrath of God, for all the sin and sicknesses of the world, paid the price because He desired to please His father. Our redemption is not negotiable. The reason there are 41,000 denominations, so many thinking that God did not mean what He said. Simply because one is in the Niagara river, about to go over falls, does not mean that he is a fast swimmer... note- Osteens, Hinns, Shullers, etc. Not against flesh and blood, we fight against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Jehovah's Witnesses predicted the end othe the world, to the best of my memory, 1874, 1914, 1925, 1941, 1975, 1995. There are 42 million Watchtower magazines printed each month. The average church-goer cannot comprehend “nothingness into somethingness,” that the Creator of the world, just spoke one word, and everything was formed, a Spiral of Silence, entirely so he could have the companionship of man, tracing infinity, (symbol of 8 on the side) promising eternity... never ending.

Satan wants you to forget that he exists. In the noise of the world, political and spiritual patriots are fighting mosquitoes when elephants are charging.

Taxonomy

Taxonomy is a system or technique for classification, a method of doing things.

Someone got started doing things a certain way and it must continue, “we have always done it that way.”

I remember hearing General of the Armys and there has not been many of them, Douglas MacArthur, address the congress after he and President Truman had their disagreement and the General decided to retire from military service. In the speech, thunderous applause from the congress, he said, ”There is no substitute for victory.”

At that time, if he had been allowed to defeat the North Koreans, Chinese... while we were strong and they were weak, we would not have the threat in that part of the world with which we will deal sooner or later. But, closer to home, victory in everyday living. Not surrendering to addictions, bad habits. Satan knows your weaknesses, KNOWS YOU WANT TO BE POPULAR, does not care how he captures you, just as long as he is successful.

Happiness in life is physical, emotional, and spiritual. Your physical happiness is mostly dependent on your health. Mine, is a lifetime of dealing with healthcare professionals in hospitals, clinics, private practices. It is very rare for any practitioner to ever question you about your eating habits, and nothing is more important. The patient just wants a pill to solve any problem. 5% of the world's population, mostly America, Europe, use 55% of all prescription drugs. Latest numbers, 2007, $287 billion spent on prescription drugs, $900 million spent by Big Pharma for lobbyists. $7.5 billion spent for joint replacements, mostly hip and knee replacements due to one thing only, overweight . As you age, your food intake should be less and less. Eat from a saucer not a plate.

Your intellectual happiness, emotional stability, comes from keeping your mind active and alert. The greatest joy of living at any age, particularly old age, spiritual security.

The tomb in which Christ was placed after His crucifixion and from which He was resurrected, was not important to the early Christians. The greatest sermon ever preached, Apostle Peter, (Acts 2) the resurrection story. All history is based on one event, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The eclismic experience totally changed His disciples, those who knew Him best, and, with the exception of Judas, all became martyrs of faith. Thomas crossing the Himalayas to die in Madras India. Mark, fleeing naked from the garden to die in Alexandria, Egypt. Bartholomew, skinned alive in Armenia, Luke hanged from an olive tree in Greece, Peter crucified upside down in Rome. John, the youngest, in whom Christ entrusted his mother, died an old man, exiled on Patmos.

God does not need us, we need Him. He could have sent the two and one half million, children of Israel to the promised land in fiery chariots rather than humbling them for forty years in a desert. Most had rather be humbled in a land of milk and honey. Humiliation is a humbling experience and God uses humiliation to humble most of us. These same people led by Moses from bondage, saw with their own eyes the humbling of Pharaoh, the drowning of 600 chariots with horses. All sin begins with pride. Lucifer, beautiful prince of heaven, chief musician, rebel, left heaven with one-third of the angels. Lucifer is only mentioned once in the Bible (Isaiah 14:12) but he has too much influence on our lives, controlling the universe allotted him by God, and limited by God.

We learn early “not to rock the boat”, that charisma, going along to get along, is the usual taxonomy for the world, flesh, devil. Preachers stand in pulpits knowing full well, that most of the people to whom they are talking are just going through the motions of “religious experience”... after all, “there may be something to it.” From the banker to the educator, to the construction worker; a system of compromise.

Life is a matter of mind discipline. God warned Adam, not Eve about the “no-no tree.” Adam, the first hen-pecked husband was supposed to be in charge. Parents, teachers, lawyers, doctors, want everyone to like them. When you cease being objective, when you start being subjective, you lose the battle.

Thank God for parents interested in training their children, chores done correctly, penalties for lying, cheating, stealing. My father, although a farmer, not a brain surgeon, wanted things done correctly, with honesty. Away from my home the first time, university, working in the cafeteria, I found rat infestation beyond comprehension, in the storage areas. Even then, I was well read, knew about populations destroyed by rats. When I reported the problem to my supervisor, he said, “that is not your job.” And so it goes, education systems, healthcare systems, financial and political systems.... best example in the world, Sgt. Shultz, Hogan's Heroes, “I see nothing.” This is why, at the pharmacy of an army hospital, I reported contamination in prescriptions by a “wiki-leaks type” disgruntled enlisted person, and nothing was done. This is why I became unpopular as a medical officer, for reporting treasonous acts such as alcoholic doctors-nurses, much incompetence, the ever-present taxonomy of political-correctness.

Pastor: Youcef Nadarkhani

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end (Hebrews 3:14)

On every Christian's prayer list should be the name of Pastor: Youcef Nadarkhani, scheduled to be hanged in Iran because he is a Christian convert from Islam. .

Every day, our senses are bombarded with news from the Middle East involving the extremes of Islam. Just recently, “supposed” burning of some pages of the Koran by the US military. ”Supposedly”, because pages were used to bring in intelligence information. We have a President and others who have apologized to Afghanistan leaders for American involvement, even though there have been no apologies for the many lives lost, the many wounded, in American attempts to improve the living conditions of people in that part of the world, with time and treasure. This writer, who has been in Afghanistan three times-almost killed in Kabul, remembers well the first time he was at the Khyber pass, a scene which could have taken place 2000 years ago, a camel train moving through the dust of that remote part of the world. This writer gets ill seeing a news broadcast telling us that 22% of all “Christians” believe that Jesus sinned during His time on earth, the perfect kinsman, redeemer. We could not be redeemed from heaven. God became one of us, perfect in every way-a kinsman redeemer... fulfilling the law, every jot and tittle. The basic truth of the church, God in Christ. His blood sacrifice on Calvary, sufficient for the sin of the world. We often inquire why so much blood in the Old Testament, the daily sacrifice of animals, one after another. It is because there was so much sin. Even at the dedication of Solomon's temple, 22,000 oxen slain-sacrificed, sheep, too may to number. “Jesus paid it all,” our churches still filled with scornful people, many cases, hearing the gospel over and over, there hearts hardened to the message. Pastor Youcef heard the message and was saved.

I knew Dr. Tom Little, missionary doctor to Afghanistan, (killed August, 2010), he and his wife there for many years caring for these desperate people, killed as his assistants yelled to the killers “We are Muslim.” His wife was in America at the time for the birth of another grandchild. There have been more Christian missionaries killed during the 20^th century than all of the previous 19 centuries. This side of the cross, the pivotal point of all history.

I have written many articles about my life as an antiquarian book collector. I did own the 1715 Isaac Watts songbook for children, in which we found the hymn “I sing the mighty power of God.”

To date, every promise, prophesy of the Bible has been fulfilled. God always picks a man, not a committee. He knew where to find Abraham, Moses, Paul. He told Abraham that his decedents would leave bondage-slavery rich. The children of Israel left Egypt loaded down with Egyptian riches. Even so, from then until now, a “stiff-necked” people. If one wants to prove the Bible, the existence of God, just one three letter word, “Jew”. How is it possible not to thrill at the joy of the history of the Jewish people? God's book relates to the rest of us, Gentiles, only as we relate to them. The marvel of the church, (Romans-Philemon) “The greatest story ever told.” The saints before us, named and unnamed, (Hebrews 11) were just the pacesetters.

The Lord's table is where we remember the atonement while Jesus still had blood in His veins, we were told to remember Him symbolically by the fruit of the vine. It is a sad commentary that Muslims will die and kill for a false religion, just a vision by Mohammed. Many “so-called” Christians never approach the Lord's table. One pastor told a friend, organist, “we don't want to hear anything about blood.”

This writer is a totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected, medical officer, veteran of the Korean conflict. When Target stores were asked to help sponsor a display of he Vietnam War memorial replica, a wall which contains the names of the 58,000 killed, the following reply from the French headquarters who owns Target: “Veterans do not meet our area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education.”

France should remember what America gave for the liberation of France during WWI and WWII. This year could be one of the worst years for warfare in world history. Benjamin Netanyahu has said that a conflict between Iran and Israel would result in millions of casualties. We have witnessed the hatred of Muslims towards one another, Shiite, Sunni, etc. With so many Muslim countries aflame... Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, North Africa, etc., Europe and America will not escape their hatred.

The camels coming through the Khyber pass were loaded down, “burdened.” Christians in America and elsewhere will learn to place their burdens, for the world, on God

Meltdown

A pastor of an Original Free Will, Baptist church, North Carolina, wrote me recently that he wished his name and church to be taken off my server, blog list, because of my negativity. This is the satanic trap so well set by Satan. I am a follower of many worldwide secular and religious NEWS programs. I have heard each of the commentators express the same. Many of their liberal-pseudo-communists, go along to get along listeners, have asked to be removed from their “website” because of their negativity, bringing world sin to their attention. The truth has always hurt, you only find freedom in truth. (John 8:32) Jesus Christ is the “omnipotent focus” of truth. If you do not know truth, (John 14:6) want truth, then you should listen to the lying-deception-sorcery, in your international news media. If you believe anything from the national news, anything from your government, anything that hell has hatched out, promoted by the globalists, “new world order”, you will, in all probability, “soak” in your ignorance and then die in your sin. This pastor occupies the pulpit, around which, my ancestors for many generations encircled in prayer. They were people of sacrifice-commitment. Now, with all his other problems, this “cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) will deal with him. God knows my heart, my loyalties, my courage in spite of everything. I know the Power of God to deal with every problem... the same Power available to Joshua, commanding the sun to stand still, Peter and John at the temple gate, Paul in the earthquake at Phillipi.

We understand there is a financial meltdown covering Europe, heading toward America. As he looked directly at this totally blind veteran at lunch, across the table, a retired Christian college president told me that he had voted for Obama. The liberals, pretenders, unbelievers, have no idea about what they are up against. “God will have His way with those who have “enabled” the destruction of this country, this world, to which so many have given so much,” as America melts.

In another world, another time, a trainer of performing cocker spaniel dogs explained his training techniques to me. He said, “I can always tell the more intelligent dogs. Then, it is a matter of establishing a one to one “rapport-communication” with the individual animal. Direct eye contact is essential. They want to please me, they see the connection in my eyes and body language.” I believe this is the secret of child rearing. My mother would always have us look directly in her eyes. Show her tenderness in communication. I have noticed that mothers who are so busy with her idol, “television”, so DISTRACTED doing other things, just yelling, gnawing at her children, get the results for which the public suffers. A trainer of dogs worked for me in the morning as a secretary, dogs in the afternoon. She used the same process, could not begin to train a dog without eye contact, voice communication. One of her clients, a retired army colonel, his dog was taught to salute.

You do not get something from God every time you ask. But, remember this, the most important words you will ever hear, use the same FERVOR every time you ask, even if it means asking many times. Every time I am in a veteran's hospital, the phalanx of wheelchair-bound veterans, those of us blind, attempting to maneuver the maze of hospital activity with a white cane, one might ask, do these deserve God's special attention? I can tell you without fear of contradiction, GOD GIVES NO SLACK TO THE DISABLED. We have the same answer that the “normal” have. We depend on His spirit of grace, mercy, knowing that whatever happens, “Jesus paid it all.” Rid yourself to the nonsense, that after saved, we maintain our salvation by the way we walk. If saved, credentials are obvious. The first Deacons of the church, and deacon means servant, were such men as Stephen and Phillip. Stephen, stoned, martyred by religious people who laid there coats at the very feet of Saul, who became the Apostle Paul, could give to the religious hierarchy a history of Christianity. Phillip, God's hand on him, sent to Gaza where God knew that the Ethiopian treasure of Candace was reading the manuscript of Isaiah. (Isaiah, 66 chapters, probably a scroll when the eunuch was reading it in his chariot, not yet in chapters and verses, but he was reading the atonement chapter, Isaiah 53) The early deacons-Christians felt it a joy to be worthy of bieing beaten-jailed for their Christianity. Just think, because of King Solomon, Jewish influence in Ethiopia, only evidence of rapture, Phillip caught up after the immersion Baptism of the eunuch. “GOD IS IN CHARGE.”

As I have stated before, when God says something twice, pay attention. Twice, verses 7 and 11, Psalm 46 “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge”. The Power of the Lord of Hosts is like a giant water pipe, pressure built up, you just have to release. This writer has seen great water power, Iguazu falls, Paraguay, Gullfoss falls, Iceland, Hoover Dam, such pressure, such power. Like I have said about puny Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Bob Schuller, people using them for spiritual idols, even the Jews had trouble with the word Jehovah “I am”... the Power and holiness of God. God did not use Israel in these verses, rather Jacob. He knew Jacob's past, knew the power of Jacob's redemption. When I hear a congregation just reciting, rote-memory, without fervor, God knows how easy it is to meltdown the entire world and rebuild another for His glory. He is the Lord of Hosts.

Making Slop

Making Slop

Eighty years ago, raised on a farm, this farm boy was very familiar with “hog slop” This was large buckets of table scraps, dishwater, scraps from food preparation which were, in turn, mixed with “store-bought” hog feed. Of course, hogs will eat anything, perhaps this is the reason that Semitic races, particularly Jewish, do not eat pork. Arabs, in particular, consider pork unclean. On the farm, hogs were fed “slop”, their delicacy, in the morning, corn in the evening. It was ugly eating. If the population which so enjoys sausage, wieners, ham, could witness the animals from which such is butchered, there would be less appetite, less disease from such food.

Ugliness comes in many forms. I have seen expensively produced Broadway plays that were ugly “slop”, some magazines, much television.

In 1983, one of the shortest runs on Broadway, a play called Moose Murders. There is a tickets purchasing place, corner of Broadway an 47^th streets where one can buy play tickets at reduced prices, plays which are not “sold out”. I would walk from my co-op to the place, get in line, as always, listening instead of seeing, overhearing from others in line available plays listed on the board. Then when I got to the cashier, would get my ticket like any normal-sighted person. My fate, Moose Murders, and many others, a total waste of my money.

We give civilization, taxonomy, systems, more credit than they deserve. The world, the earth, easily compared to a big bucket of “slop”. I believe one thing which influenced evolutionist, Charles Darwin, why God would create so many insects... how evolving-mutations fitted into his picture of survival. Most do not realize that Darwin's wife was a devout Christian, helped him write his book. They loved one another so much that they did not let their differences interfere in the “slop” of their existence. Darwin just wanted God to go away, hooked on the same old mantra of “fairness”, the downfall of many liberals. It is not true that Darwin recanted his disbelief in God before he died. It is true that Dr. Spock (his book, 39 languages, over 50 million copies sold) recanted and repented of the foolishness in his book before he died.

The financial world is just one big garbage bucket and the world is caught in the “trap” of it's greed and corruption. The world financial chaos we are enduring now, started with the 911 world towers. Lying, cheating, stealing is as old as man but, with globalism, “new world order”, attempts by the Bilderbergers and other world power brokers to control the wealth of the world, Lehman Brothers was probably a self implosion just as certainly was the case with one of the towers, and, so it was with Bear Sterns, others, the entire international banking community... six trillion dollars in “forged” US bonds found just recently in the vaults of Swiss banks, backing up financial borrowing-spending activity. Hitler perfected forgery, bonds with which to bathe England during WWII, destabilization. If there were survivors of WWI, financial capitals all over the world, Wall Street, Washington, would be under siege. Phony-bologna, oil prices determined by worthless US fiat currency. Now, China, India, other places, using gold. Now you understand the Libyan-Qaddafi problem. Ne-plus-ultra now bringing Greece into receivership, others will follow... my prediction, Italy, state of California, receivership.

Not because we do not know better, just history, logic, common sense. Moses and the children of Israel lost their way, even with a cloud to guide, day and night. Even in that desert, then, as our desert now, spoiled, stiff-necked, God was supplying their every need, “manna”, bread with every nutrition, shoes and clothing, which would not wear out. Not a sickly one among them. (Psalm 105) Laws-instructions involving every area of their life. They complained, yearned for the old days of slavery. “Let's kill God-Moses” Dissatisfied with what they had to bite, God sent scorpions to bite them... many died. These, knowing the Power of God in leading them through the Red Sea, repented, God instructed Moses to put a brass scorpion on a pole and all they had to do for healing, was to look at it. (a future type of THE one hanging on a tree on Calvary, for healing) Those of us who are military medical officers, still wear that brass symbol “caduceus” on our uniform showing that we are medical officers. God always shows the way. Early Christians were referred to as “the way.” On the day of Pentecost, 17 languages of “the way”. In the sermon on the mount, 13 times Jesus referred to Himself as “the way.”

We think things are bad now, inflation in food prices, horrendous gas prices, complete unpredictability in future healthcare, even retirement pensions or social security. God told us to prepare “the way” for the fiery darts of the devil. (Ephesians 6:16)

Without the resurrection, there is no Christianity. God sent His son to take His chosen believers, out of the cesspool. (“slop” of this world) Darwin and his other unbelievers would have you, and particularly your children, believe from the Goo to the Zoo to you. God's gift is beautiful, His redemption of you the beauty of the world, with which you are caressed.

Beachheads

Life and living is a matter of the establishments of beachheads, starting usually with the start of formal education, even primary school students, early, “select” their main interest “favorites” in friends, sports, habits. There is nothing wrong with this very human “exceptionalism” in spite of man's efforts to make this a cookie cutter world, particularly in controlled, regulated-regimented, socialistic societies. Individuality-variety is still the “spice” of life, a very important reason for putting up with “the good fight of human existence.”

Everywhere that communism (everything in common) has been tried, it has failed. Just as coded DNA distinguishes every animal and plant, of the billions of people who have lived on earth, no two are the same, there are even individual differences in identical twins. Almost no work has been done on the creation-evolution of plants (flora) but in animal life, (fauna) characteristics of species. It is when the transgenic “cauterizing” of animals begins that we have massive troubling hybrids.

This writer has traveled the world, every continent, almost every country, SUCH VARIETY. Yet, when beachheads of different-distinguishable people were established, certain cohesions-loyalties-likenesses, are always found. It would be a dis-interesting world without the differing personalities-values of individuals, even family members. My only son talks of how different are my two grandsons. The spice-challenge of living, dealing with differences-reasons and necessities for certain beachheads.

In a world of impersonal, “over-busy” people we often neglect getting to know one another. A family lived close to me at my beach house, right on the ocean. Strange how I got to know them. Expensive real estate, beach houses are usually close together and, as in many places, before the time of air conditioning, screened windows and doors open, (you could even smell what was cooking) everyone sat on porches. I noted that one older man sat on his porch every afternoon when he returned home from work. I got to know him because I heard great commotion one day from trash collectors. The gentleman on the porch had seen a large snake in the carefully groomed-landscaped areas of his yard and he had shot the snake with his revolver... a feat in itself. Evidently, he paid no attention to the snake, had his handyman throw the snake onto the garbage, freshly cut shrubbery trimmings. It proved to have been a very large rattlesnake with an unheard of 17 rattles. The sight of this snake almost scared the trash men to death. Later, here comes a very disreputable police chief, wanting to site the man for firing a weapon in town. I heard the man tell the chief how long and how much property he and his mother owned on the beach, that perhaps the chief would rather have the snake attack a child or even that blind man next door... the same police the same attitude. (also a owner of much real estate) When a tenant moved taking many of my possessions. (those that could easily be moved: all dishes, glass-cooking ware, rugs, brooms, tools, shower curtains, bed spreads, light weight chairs, trash cans, etc. As always, those of us who have established beachheads of property in any locality, have learned to expect nothing from the taxes we pay, except increased taxation.

After this, getting to know these “interesting-unusual” neighbors better, a mother and her son... the mother a long time public school teacher, the son, disabled veteran, long time bank official. Starting when real estate was cheap, never selling anything, a fortune in rental real estate-beach houses. It turns out that the mother's deceased husband had sold his partnership and patent rights in a local company. The money had kept piling up from every direction... they said to me, “our lives have never changed. We are comfortable in our work, faith, lifestyle. We are probably worth hundreds of millions which our two heirs will inherit. (two children of the one daughter of the mother, sister of the son). Wealth is established with early beachheads, a value system. To see these people anywhere, anytime, they appeared no different outwardly than most “indistinguishable” citizens. Solid, patriotic, people of faith, do not worry about impressing others. Patriotism and Christianity are not complicated, just tough. The unbelievers in either, and even pretenders, politicians, bureaucrats so want to impress, throw their weight around with regulations, superior attitudes and pride. They build themselves up by cutting others down EXCEPT when needing your support.

Established beachheads of quality when early dating or socializing and perhaps finding a life's partnership. (marriage) Seek your value system in your political party, your belief system professed and possessed in your church.

America faces a very uncertain future. She lost her best on combat beachheads across the world, attempting to promote constitutional-faith-decency values. In our own country now, bankrupt from derivatives, the socialism of subsidizing where one half the population supports the other half, where over 50% of children are in single parent homes, about 50% of all babies, aborted, world's largest prison population, the following absolutes cannot be denied. If you want successful people in a successful country, the following must be observed: 1) a two parent home, every child needs a mother and father 2) Every child must witness integrity, nothing replaces work ethic 3) Quality education, even if it means home schooling. 4) Never swallow the most satanic message of hell, “I let my child pick their religion, when they decide. If you have no faith, no church, expect the worse. But, bring up your child in church, expose totally to your faith.

Much of living is very much a symbiotic relationship. In my many trips through India, there was always a bird on the back of a Buffalo, the bird gorging himself with insects, stirred up by Buffalo activity, landing on the Buffalo. We are all symbiotic characters, standing on the shoulders of others, pioneers, inventors, patriots, saints of the faith.. Remember, those of history, before us, were the pacesetters. Technology may have changed everything except human nature.

Ash Wednesday

Today, February 22, 2012, is Ash Wednesday. This day is celebrated throughout Christendom, 46 days before Easter, first day of Lent, a time of repentance and, “supposedly” remembering the second greatest event in the history of the world, God's sacrifice of His own son for the atonement of the world. It in Catholic, Anglican, some Protestant churches, a time for showing symbolic repentance by the placing of ashes on the forehead. In repentance, you make a change, a turn. Many Protestant and most Baptist churches do not observe Ash Wednesday. It is this writer's observation that many of these denominations, particularly Baptists, no longer observe anything. The throne room of God, fasting and prayer, replaced by the activity-family life center of feasting and festivities-activities. So much biblical history, Christianity, symbolism. We see this as the old testament is revealed in the new testament... the temple, 48 panels, (20 on each side, 8 in the rear) built of acacia wood representing the human spirit, covered by pure gold, representing the spirit of God. The Ark of the Covenant, representing Jesus Christ. BUT, Jesus instructed us to remember Him at His table. Very alive, blood flowing in His veins, we were told to remember Him, fruit of the vine, His blood, forgiveness of sins, bread, His broken body, healing of all disease and infirmities.

One of the more beautiful ways some churches REMEMBER, is by doing what Jesus did on that night when He remembered the Passover with His disciples. (perhaps 3 million Israelites, bondage in Egypt, perfect lamb slain, blood on door posts, flesh roasted-eaten for strength, the death angel passing over all homes on which the blood was placed, killing the oldest male, even Pharaoh’s son, and male animals, the last of the plagues before Pharaoh permitted the Jews to leave Egypt) Lastly, Jesus, showing humbleness, washed His disciple's feet.

The first mental image, in my mind, a very small child, my mother on her knees, washing another saint's feet in the family church building where both of my parents, their parents, and their parents, worshiped. The communion table, Lord's Supper, next to Baptism, the greatest privilege of a Christian, shows our remembrance of what Christ did for us. Even, if there were no other blessings in my life until I die, I do not DESERVE what He did for me. We have history, manuscripts. God told Noah to build a ship 250 feet long, 75 feet wide, 45 feet high, and Noah, with ancient tools, nails more like spikes, started working, and did so for 120 years, ridiculed by His neighbors. The Apostle Paul, Peter, Steven, preaching the Sovereign riches of God, just from their experience preached and all became martyrs for their faith. 90% of faith is just raw courage, they were courageous... “faithers”, action, based on belief, sustained by confidence. The atheist, bioethicist, pretenders of the world, like Mr. Obama and his ilk, have no idea what they are up against. Right now, Catholics are observing 43 days of concentrated prayer.

The atheists have become so brazen, even putting up billboards to establish their unbelief. Nikolai Lenin said, “Communists-unbelievers are dead men on a holiday, dead men have no needs.” We live in a transgenic world, gene manipulation, plants and animals. In 50 years, human beings as we have known them, will not exist. It is not just GMO foods, hybrid crops, but a satanic thrust toward a hybrid army of trans-human-transgenic people possessing the planet. Most scientific research involves genetics. There is warfare against human nature, reproduction, gender, (male and female) from the garden of Eden throughout the history of the old testament (shown with the importance of “male seed”, even circumcision, the results of enemy circumcision (Genesis 34)) It is only natural that Satan would eventually attempt to destroy marriage. (same-sex marriage, military mixing, the holocaust of abortion.) Surely, by now, the scientists should realize that all nature, cell-genetic activity is eternally coded by God, in spite of Satan’s attempts at species manipulation. Satan can only duplicate.

There are people alive, ages 90 to 100, who remember the first telephones, first automobiles, first radios. Many of us remember a world without zippers, plastics, artificial anything. Information has always been a non-material entity, there just waiting to be discovered. The coding on DNA was always there, Satan loves to deceive, captivate. Instead of dealing with God, even Christian pastors, prefer to have someone stretch out on a couch and talk to another “so-called specialized” human being for a price. God gave us the miracle of faith, dealing directly with Him, the manufacturer, the one who wrote the manufacturer's handbook (Holy Bible)

We have faith in other systems-things. You put a letter in the mailbox, addressed to another city, you do not follow the letter along to make sure it's postal-services-processes are correct and the letter will arrive at the correct destination. Even with an incompetent postal service, you have faith.

Anytime God says anything more than once,give attention. In the 37^th Psalm, three times, God says, “Fret not”. God told us to “fret not” about “evil-doers”, “prosperity”, “vengeance.” Christianity is not complicated, just tough. God does not lie, very careful in what He says. My quarrel with the church, we are told to give our problems to God, “Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. - Hymn But, every day, every way, through didactic means, we tell Jesus what to do.

From everlasting to everlasting, only God, He is in charge, can be trusted. You can trust only if you are trustworthy, He trusts you if you trust Him, if you can be trusted. This writer has traveled the world, every continent. I have seen the hatred, felt the body language of voice and appearance, followers of Islam. (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Cappadocia-Turkey, Iran, North Africa) The people of the Middle East are not normal people. I an convinced that 2012 is a disastrous year for America. Radiation from Fukushima is already affecting the world. Radiation will change the cell structure of any living animal. Those who are plagicized, CAPTURED-CAPTIVATED, by faith in God, His mercy, spirit of grace, will survive.

I was on the island of Samoa, staying at the famous Addie-Grey hotel. A young man working there walked me to a nearby church on a beautiful Sunday morning. A white clapboard building, which reminded me of the family church where my family had worshiped since 1850. Just a shadow of vision in my left eye, I could tell that all the people were dressed in white, barefoot. When I went in they were singing, I could not understand their language but the piano played “What a friend we have in Jesus.”

They were evidentally excited about a foreign visitor. A woman, evidentally a missionary, high pitched voice, came down the aisle to welocme me. She said, “I am speaking from Psalm 84. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.” (Psalm 84:5)

Then, almost totally blind, now, totally blind (100% disabled, service connected, medical officer, veteran of the Korean conflict) I had reached a very low point in my existence. Psalm 84 of David, changed my life.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

The valley of Baca, known here and there as the valley of weeping is in present day Lebanon. The message to me, and to all in despair-discouragement-disability BLESSED MEN GO THROUGH VALLEYS OF WEEPING. If the person is plagicized-captivated-chosen of God, you are blessed and become a blessing. You go through the waters in the valley and even additional rain does not bother you.

The Apostle Paul, much of his life spent in a valley of weeping would have said, “Certainly God should be ale to keep this ship together...there is probably not another poisonous snake for 100 miles but, along with everything else in his life, God intended through his appeal to Caesar (Paul's appeal a matter of principles) God's plan for getting the gospel to Rome.” Paul, and I believe “the thorn” was the devil beating him over the head for the evil in his life before he met our Savior on the 150 mile road from Jerusalem to Damascus, writer of most of the New Testament. Anytime, you get sick of hypocrites, as C.S. Lewis, “apostle to skeptics” wrote, “Look at Paul”.

Surely, not just me, every disabled person has said, “Why me?” This writer lives alone, independent, I take care of myself. I talk with God on a continuing basis, 'I simply do not understand, Why Me?” But then, attempting to find something in my refrigerator, it always comes out, “Praise God, I have food, I have a refrigerator.” Blessed men realize the source of their strength.

You never test God's resources until you exhaust yours. My quarrel with “supposed” Christians, externals instead of internals, having the righteousness of Jesus Christ internally will become evident externally. There is a tediousness in daily faith, laxness, even forgetting to trust. The people in Phillipi heard Paul preach, just a few times, some of the poorest people continued to send him gifts while he was in prison. Peter, denier, impetuous, preached on the day of Pentecost with such fervor just from his experience with and knowledge of the resurrected Christ, that the church was started with 3000. God does not get excited over doubting people. (disciple Thomas crossed the Himalayas to carry the message of the resurrection to India, (martyred at Madras) nor excited over long prayers. The thief on the cross only had to use a few words. Lord, remember me when you come into thy kingdom. (Luke 23:42) The unseen guest at every meal, every action of your life, remember you are His.

The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

The Making of a Man

Much is involved in the making of a man, there is nothing like the first impression. Mark Twain said that “clothes make the man” and, clothes are so important in making a good appearance, particularly the first impression. I do not hold myself up to anyone as an example of anything but, I do believe that any man should give the best “version” of himself. When this old man was in college, professional school, serious, dedicated students, wore ties with dress shirts, jackets, pressed trousers, polished shoes. We believe that a man dressed for success, and to this very day, I never leave my residence without having on a dress shirt, coat, and tie.

This month, we celebrate the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, 16th president and probably the most impressive. There have been 15,000 biographies written about this one man. He was known for being immaculate, suit, tie, is known that he polished his own shoes. My father, grandfathers, farmers, always wore a suit, even when going to town on business. Our country church of plain country people, all wore their Sunday best. Some women only had one “store-bought”, nice dress. Looking back, I never saw some people in but one set of clothing.

I am told that today, even in church, just anything goes, shorts-t shirts-flip flops. Totally Blind, (100% disabled, service connected, medical officer veteran of the Korean conflict) I do not see today's world but I understand that some t-shirts are an embarrassment with the phrases they have on them. I am told that some pastors, doctors, lawyers, are casual in the extreme in their dress. I am told that some mega-churches, pastor-staff, in dress more for an outside backyard barbecue. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27)

The matter of dress for those who are chosen by God, was settled long ago. As shown above we are clothed by Him. This should be part of the logical, rational thinking in convincing every college student that he is separated to Christ, (2 Corinthians 6:14-17) that Christians are not cheap, that Christianity is worthy of defending courageously. Every high school student, Christian home background, becoming skeptical should read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. After a long life of defending Christ, living courageously, IF I HAVE one quarrel with the Christian church... particularly Baptists, evangelicals, it is that we have made a BEGGAR of the church. God can get along fine without us, we need Him much more than He needs us. The church BEGS people to attend worship services, BEGS people to give of their time, talent, treasure to God. GOD SPOKE AND THE WORLD WAS FORMED, THAT SAME POWER IS IN US WHEN WE CLAIM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT LIVING IN OUR VERY BODY. That very Power was available when Jesus raised Lazarus form the dead, fed thousands with a small lunch, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind. GET REAL! There is no mediocrity with God. This matter of church attendance, prayer meeting, any other activity, because of a pastor or other paid staffers instead of trust in a Sovereign God of Glory, must be realized.

Jesus loved three friends who lived at Bethany, we all need what they represent. Lazarus, resurrected from the dead. (you are already dead if unsaved) Martha, busy with Christian activity. Mary, worshiping-learning at the very feet of Jesus.

At least two million walked across the Jordan River from the desert into the promised land. The services at the temple are well described in the Bible, and exact. The outer court of the temple, Jewish law, bringing a perfect animal for sacrifice, altar, a sweet-saver to God. The one making the sacrificial offering, the burning animal, a sacrifice of His sins, He walking away a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1) A picture perfect by God of a later sacrifice, is His own son, Calvary, the sin and sickness of the entire world, past, present, future, the wrath of God, sufficient.

The outer court, so busy with activity... like today's “church house”. (pizza parties, yoga lessons, study courses) God desired commitment in the inner court where the “holy of holies” was located. At that time, only the high priest could go in to him (bells on the bottom of his robe so they would know he was communing with God and alive.) But, when the veil of the temple was rent, top to bottom, we all have access. We do not need a priest as an intermediary, a book by Joseph Smith, Mary B. Eddy, or Ellen White. The greatest joy that can affect and infect the soul of a human being, chosen of God, elected to know the Power of God.

Satan does not care how he gets you, can quote scripture better than you, think of Eve in the garden, the temptation of Christ. He wants to keep you away from God's book, prayer life. You are the temple of God, must learn to value the eternal more than the temporal. There is a spiritual world, active, often hypocritical, doing it's thing. Watch Joel Osteen, pastor Schuller, pastor T.D. Jakes... wanting devotion-high living support for themselves. When God is forced to choose, He chooses Himself, and so should you. Choosing God, Hid Power, Mercy, Love, (1 Corinthians 13) is the making of a man.

The Meat Grinder

Today’s Christians do not think circumstances are a part of God's will. God is in charge of everything, knew the ending and the beginning before He chose you for life in the council chambers of eternity. Other articles well describe this writer's background, disability. Having lost my eyesight, concentrating my efforts in investing, particularly rare books... an antiquarian book collector-seller.

Someone purchased a book on butchery. Two college graduate assistants became almost ill just looking at the pictures. News commentators such as Beck, Limbaugh, Savage, etc. now talk about how students have been “dumbed-down”. There actual lack of knowledge in life and living. Most think that meats, vegetables, and other food items just magically appear on store shelves, wrapped in poisonous-leaching plastic.

As I matured, the realization, of how much knowledge our early ancestors possessed. Even the saints-martyrs whose name s appeared in Hebrews 11 “of whom the earth was not worthy”, were just pace-setters. Surely God expects much more of us, with our technology, cell phones, computers, etc.

I remember very well the first time I saw the making of sausage with a meat grinder.... scraps of everything involving the animal mixed with spices such as pepper and rosemary, and then ground all together. As presidential candidate Ross Perot said, “making sausage is not pretty.”

God's word is “forever settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89) Those who understand the sower, seed, soil, of the parable Jesus gave us and instructed us that only the chosen would be able to understand His parables. The greatest joy a human being can ever know, that he is chosen to understand. A recent poll shows that even 20% of unbelievers would select Jesus Christ for a conversation. Those who do not understand, who do not care to understand have a horrendous future. The greatest education of my life, army medical officer, how little some knew about their body, and could care less: found through many years of living , how little most people know about history, and could car less: people in general, especially family-friends knew about the Bible, their souls, and could care less.

God wanted this chosen one to experience the world, what goes on there, that cowardice and corruption is in world-wide epidemic... that trust cannot be found about most people, anywhere, anytime. Perhaps, not as profane as before Noah's flood, but heading that way. Traveling every continent, rare not to experience exploitation and bribery at immigration. In other places I have described, the “snake-pit” of communism, atheism but, in God's more blessed nation, we find a pattern of corruption throughout America. Within the taxonomy of every discipline-system merchandising, banking, even the scientific community. I gave up on science, resigned my membership in the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) because the scientific community has surrendered to grants and government largess. The healthcare community has become a puppet for Big Pharma.

The best example I could ever give for showing how professionalism has disappeared, surgery for prostate cancer my only possessions going into a hospital envelope for safe keeping, $80.00 cash, my talking wrist watch. Days later, leaving the hospital, only $40.00 returned, my watch speaking Spanish. I would not attempt to tell the horror story of this one veteran's experiences in VA facilities. I am a totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected, medical officer, veteran of the Korean conflict. One VA physician wept with me, talking about care for recent warriors. I have never been able to get even a white cane from the government.

Until 1970, Americans wanted opportunity. In a frenzy of feeding greed, the American dream became a jousting for things, money, bigness, (businesses, houses, cars, entertainment) called “rat-race”, religion became a crutch. Psychology replaced faith. The Christian believer would go to a psychologist, almost like a Chevrolet seeking help from a Buick. On a 747 plane from Hawaii to Auckland, New Zealand, February 24, 1989, electric malfunction, cabin door came off, a large hole in a side of the plane. Thirteen human beings strapped in their seats, sucked out of the plane. An experienced pilot of 35 years flying, landed the plane. These passengers like the 245,000 people who die every day, should know that life and living is more than just surviving. The Apostle Paul did not learn to love jail cells, stocks, beatings (blood running down his back) anymore than this writer has learned to enjoy blindness. We know that our faith is not just a spiritual recital but, circumstances are a part of the journey and as the poet, William Cowper, said, “God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.”

Near the end of the 8^th century, Homer wrote The Odyssey. In his many exploits of the imagination, he told of a young and beautiful girl, Penelope. The territorial Greek, Gallic wars of that time lasted many years. Penelope's boyfriend, Laertes, went to war, and after many years, family and friends insisted that Penelope marry. This love-torn girl kept giving excuses such as weaving (she would tear out at night what she would weave during the day) but finally married Telegonus just before her true love returned.

In another article, I have written about finding the grave of Francis Thompson, St. Mary's cemetery, London, author of the famous words, Love is a many splendored thing.

One of the many mysteries of my life, how cheaply and carelessly people use the word “Love”. For instance, I love ice cream, classical music, old hymns of the faith, but these loves do not compare to the love involving my faith. Perhaps this is the reason, In the Greek, there are several degrees of love. The Septuagint, translated from the Greek by 70 scholars, knew the difference. Early scholars always used the Septuagint. When our resurrected blessed Lord on the seashore, questioned the denying Peter three times “if He loved Him” used the correct vernacular of love.

I am often confounded by the so-called love between individuals. My parents, grand parents, never expressed affection outwardly but, the oneness was always there. One man told me the best test to tell if a boy loves a girl, father loves a mother, in a group, the loved one is the first one to which one looks.

Marital love can be the most disappointing. “Talk is cheap.” It is truly amazing how love can turn to hatred at the divorce court.

Those of us who have visited the Taj Mahal, Agra, India, still considered the world's most munificent architectural marvel even if it is a burial mausoleum. Significant that it was built for the maharajas third wife.

In the community which I was raised, seldom mentioned but some older men and women never married. Every case, a true love affair with someone who either disappointed or died.

It is not rare for older men and women to marry a boy or girl friend of their youth after their mate, as survivors of the first marriage.

An older couple in a Switzerland hotel invited me to their table at dinner. She said, “Dr., I bet you think we have been married for a long time.” “We are newlyweds, his wonderful wife died and so did my wonderful husband.” The living, wonderful husband, at the table, said, “I was taught in the bible that there was only one perfect man. But the the bible was wrong, her first husband was a perfect man.

In the recent bitter disparity between the most anti-family president in history and his minions, contraception, abortion, homosexuality, nothing is ever said about love. Is love involved or is it like to dogs fornicating in an ally. Outside a military base, NC, a public whore house. The house was staffed by wives of servicemen... men, in uniform, giving their service and even their life to their country. Now all dependents of service-people get allotments for housing and other frills. Just think, women selling themselves, much as the temple prostitutes thinking they were contributing to the family income. How can people that treat love so cheaply face their children, their family-friends so and a Savior whose name means love.

Lackadaisical

The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. (John 10:13)

The old testament is one continuous record of human failure. In the arena of human action, God redeemed mankind by Himself, putting on a tent of human flesh, dwelling among us. God in man, showing us how to live and finally atonement for the sin and sickness of the world. One cannot believe in the Sovereignty of God, without believing in the resurrection. Without the resurrection, our faith is in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:17) A lackadaisical, languid, indifferent, half hearted, language of belief, is useless. Jesus Himself used very blunt words, words that cannot be misunderstood. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? (Matthew 23:33) God in His greatness is referred to as “Lord of Hosts” He will not share His glory with anyone... knows that the sacrifice of His son, putting on Him the wrath for the sin and sickness of the world, was sufficient. His word is “forever settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89)

Under Naziism, the Christian cross was replaced by a photograph of Hitler. In predominantly Catholic Italy, influx of Muslims from Africa, crucifixes always found in Italy's school rooms, removed because Muslim children were offended. At Georgetown University, Catholic, all religious symbolism covered when President Obama visited. The genuflecting President Jenkins at Notre Dame, so anxious to bestow an honorary doctorate on anti-Christ, anti-Life, anti-sacrament-marriage, Obama. All should have known that Obama was a hireling. A hireling is always a thief-mercenary-imposter, who has no love for the sheep. Jesus knew how to distinguish the hireling from the shepherd. Catholics, Baptists, evangelicals, even real Christians of all faiths are “slow learners”. In his books, every action, certainly the people with whom he associated, you knew his true colors-true identity. (a hireling) Anglican, Episcopalian, Unitarian, and others essentially believe in nothing. So, like the atheists, Marxists, the “battlefield” of Christians means nothing. Total commitment to Christian faith is considered a nursery rhyme-fairy tale illusion.

I am truly sickened, that during my life, the Christian faith has become so cheapened... pretenders. The average church, back when I was able to attend church and speak in churches, “air-conditioned, comfortable fox-holes”. Our resurrected-acending Lord's instructions to us, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.” (Matthew 28:19) The world would not be in the mess that it is in, would have belonged to Christ long ago, if Christians just “lived” their Christianity before the unsaved of the world, as well as one another. We do not have time to convert unbelievers, warfare with the devil, because we are too busy impressing one another. Just think, a highly paid-comfortable pastor with his equally comforted staff shepherding sophisticated powdered and perfumed pretenders PERHAPS demonstrating some faith, one hour each week. The rest of the time, dancing to the tune of the world, flesh, devil, just as everyone else, saved or unsaved. The church people are dancing-drinking at the country club, local bar, gawking and golfing with the rest. Then comes a matter of TRUTH, requiring faithfulness. Eighty one percent of religious institutions, filled by volunteers doing service. Until 1920, all birth control, illegal. Now, any birth control method is as easily obtained as a breath mint.

The next popular statistic hatched in hell, the overpopulation of the world. God has always shown His generosity in taking care of people or animals, regardless of the population. The earth’s seven billion population of today, more blessed with food and drink, than the smaller number of any previous century. A greater mystery, why Obama and his ilk, monopolizing and terrorizing the religious church, Catholic or otherwise, self sustaining with actual heart felt conviction from the righteousness of the Holy Spirit of an All Powerful living God in their lives. IF Obama, his fellow charlatans-terrorists, of the true Christian faith possessed any fear-belief in God at all, they would be quaking at what God can do. We know what hurricanes can do, earthquakes can do, terrorists-weapons can do, but God can use microbiology (virus) or many other things to establish His Lordship, and show what God can do. Our Lord is enlarging hell to take care of those who so despise Him and His people.

One professor owned a large pickle jar. He filled the jar with golf balls and said, “Is it full?” Then, he poured in a large bucket of pebbles again, “Is it full?” Then he poured in a large bucket of sand again, “Is it full?” More beautiful than anything else in creation, male and female... their ability to procreate. Scientists have always known that the human race is only one generation away from extinction, particularly in “Frankenstein” times of super microbes, biological warfare. Cambodia, 1975, all Christians killed by 1978.

Only demon-possessed people take joy in destruction-morbidity. People rejoiced last week at the Westminster Dog Show. Some of these same people should love perfection in God's chief creation, a baby, even in the mother's womb. The mission of the church is to strengthen God's work. We are living in an age of spoiled, indulged, children, who develop into weak, insecure, often sickly, adults. The church, (Romans – Philemon) was built, under the leadership of the greatest preacher next to Christ, Apostle Paul, a devout organism. Today's church groups (41,000 denominations) function on feeling not faith. Most congregations are “drying up” using man's “purpose-driven”, technology-haunted, instead of the proven record established for 2000 years. In most Baptist churches you seldom see a cross. Most non-Catholic churches are just assembly halls, easily mistaken for a civic club. Two minutes in any church well demonstrate that you are in a social not a worship group. The best example you will ever find, here on the coast, many hurricanes. Several years ago, It was one of those names Fran, Bertha, etc., a very great group, Baptist men of NC brought their well-equipped cooking and food trucks. They operated from the Winter Park church grounds.

My electric power had been off for days, of course this old soldier has learned to survive. But, a black couple, Isaac and Mary, several counties away, other side of Riegelwood, NC came by my house to get paid for some work they had done on my rental property, some weeks previously. (Power-Washing) I asked if they had damage from the hurricane? No, we were not bothered by the hurricane but we come into town each day to get food from the “Baptist place” Almost everyone in our community comes in each day... so much in the trunk of the car that you would think they are bootleggers. Our dogs and hogs particularly love the chicken stew. Now this couple, paid money by me, did not ask if I needed anything.

Technology has changed the world, everything except human nature. It bothers me, that Christian, hard-working, Baptist people on North Carolina, and particularly the volunteers who come to assist those in need, are “bamboozled” by greed not deed. We have developed, slow evolution, such a culture, spiritually as well as politically.

My telephone was working, I called the local Southern Baptist Association. I know how to talk on the telephone, polite-concise. Some “prissy” seminary graduate with a reverend in front of his name, answered the phone. I gave him the sordid details of a black community taking advantage of a situation. Like most social problems, government or otherwise, it is not necessity but laziness which prevails... so simple to ask a few questions such as where do you live?, was your house damaged?, do you have electric power? The preacher said to me, “Well we just hope we helped some”, the same thing that the social engineers say about every welfare program when they know full well that investigating would end much government financial largess, when the word gets around, it might cost some liberal votes.

Here, too, the Baptist preacher made no inquiry at all about me, my health , my needs. I'm sure I told him that I was totally blind, living alone, without electricity, in fact, one would think that some would be by to help. My secretary called each day but a tree was on her car. More significant, as far as Southern Baptists at that time, my only child, my son, his family, foreign Southern Baptist missionaries.

Spoiled, indulged, indifferent children usually become “troubled” adults. Life is a matter of preparation, preparation for adulthood, preparation for living as a family, preparation for your eventual promotion (IF chosen of God and a believer in His son, Jesus Christ) to eternal life without problems. More important than ever before in history, your preparation to withstand disaster. I recommend the storing of food, water, and a method to protect you and your family from those who do not prepare. More important, and you know the worship of atonement at the communion table for not only the forgiveness of your sin (past, present, future) but all sickness and infirmity. Jesus healed all who came to Him for anything... leprosy, palsy, fever (Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:24) The atonement of our Blessed Lord assures forgiveness of sin and healing. (bread as well as wine)

Satan twists the truth, enjoys having his pretenders push his truth, but you can know the truth and the truth will keep you free. (John 8:32) No one ever had a nervous breakdown from today's problems. God will give you in the light what He promised in the darkness.
