Soul Searching

Soul Searching

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof" (Matthew 6:34).

Evel Knievel, dare devil thrill rider, Guinness Book of World Records, having broken more bones than any other human being and still lived (433). In his career he attempted 75 RAMP TO RAMP motorcycle jumps. In 1974 he failed to jump across the Snake River Canyon. Before he died in 2007, when we think of soul searching, this writer believes this dare devil maniac made the most miraculous testimony one can hear,
"I don't know what in the world happened. I don't know if it was the power of prayer or God himself, but it just reached out, either while I was driving or walking down the sidewalk or sleeping, and it just—the power of God in Jesus just grabbed me. … All of a sudden, I just believed in Jesus Christ."

No psychiatrist in the world has been able to explain the dare devil mentality. Just this week, Caleb Moore, failed to convert a flip off a 70-foot RAMP with his 450-pound snow mobile, in critical condition. The vehicle appeared to strike him on the head leaving him in a state of shock, paralyzed, the prognosis is not good. Horseback rider, tennis player, swimmer Joni Tada became paralyzed from the neck down after diving into the Chesapeake Bay. A long recovery period, with all the doubts, fears, trauma of body and mind which goes into such a recovery, she learned to paint holding a brush in her teeth, paintings which she sells. Through her mission "Joni and Friends," she preaches, sings and encourages others who are disabled. The man dictating this article is a totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected medical officer veteran of the Korean War era. In speaking to disabled, "It is not what a person does when everything is wonderful, it is what a person does when everything is bad."

Everyday, almost every way, accident, virus', some happening, unexplainable, without rhyme or reason, a man or woman becomes disabled, life totally and forever changed in the space of a few seconds, minutes or hours.

WHAT THEN? Do you sit around and cry and feel sorry for yourself, a time for soul searching? Mad at the world, mad at healthy people and one ditch you do not want to fall into, one in which I had a real wrestling match with Satan (Ephesians 6:12), having worked so hard, so much discipline, getting through eight years of professional education (brutal self denial-frugality, etc.), jumping through every hoop, academic boards, all the fight and fury to defend this nation and then come out in my condition and the military not give me so much as a white cane. The plight of the veteran is beyond description, like the American tax payer, the hard working-responsible citizenry who built this nation, like the Christian church, all rejected, even despised in the rapid rise of the communist state-culture. It is a hard pill to swallow, thrown in our faces by the secular-state controlled news media, heroes of the world, those basking off the welfare state...entitlement greed. Their votes, even their souls, purchased by politicians.

For those interested in soul searching, those knowing what Blaise Pascal meant when he said, "There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.” History is replete with those, both biblical Old Testament and New Testament patriots and saints who filled their vacuum with God. Others have sought that supernatural spirit elsewhere. Man is born with a conscience-soul. In many cases because of their evil ways, difficult to believe so. Adam chose the spirit of death instead of the spirit of life. From the creation until 5,000 B.C, scripture tells us that man was totally evil, "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5).

God did not give up on man, his chief creation. Noah and his family, the animals he chose to save, the arc above the drowning waters of the earth, man procreated the earth again and we have a history recorded in The Bible of one nation, the Jews, and the gentiles as they came into a relationship with the Jewish nation. Starting with one tree in the garden paradise of earth, God established his rights, his laws about everything. He gave us much, including the provision of eternal life, but through his laws, through the atonement of his son Jesus, we have certain parameters, we can not have it all.

Then comes man's true nature, wanting a substitute form of deity, a divine presence in the vacuum (not God but someone or some thing). Then comes the free masons, skull and bones, etc, etc. Cults are always symbolic, secretive, codes. They want to make sure they can identify one another with certain hand shakes, jewelry, profiteering towards one another both in business, politics, social engineering, and even the judiciary at the court house. (You will find that Masonic lawyers always get prejudice treatment from Masonic judges.) From the White House, to the school house, free masons and the off-springs of free masons (Mormon church, fraternal groups such as skull and bones) have found a substitute deity, rituals which they observe even at the graveside, a substitute for Jehovah God of the universe. You can always tell a cult by their "degrees" of separation from God and from one another. Their monolithic idealism such as vestments, words such as "Apostles", "degrees-masters," "temples", "lodges", initiations in the dark, separation, "Big I little U" mentality. The idolatry has even progressed to including symbols in corporate signature-logo.

Searching the soul we know that man can not live on bread alone (Matthew 4:4).  Man may survive by his own devises, his own wit and wisdom BUT, when he searches his soul, he realizes his need for the supreme God of the universe. This realization, particularly when you are at the end of the road or even at the crossroads, will give you the stability needed, grace through faith, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).  Take heart my fellow disabled-disenfranchised friends, Christ has said, and I believe him, "I will never leave thee nor forsake the" (Hebrews 13:5).

Flaws

Flaws

Our own imperfections unfit us for judging fairly

(J.R. Miller)

"Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law." James 4:11

"And why do you look at the mote in your brother's eye, but do not consider the beam in your own eye?" Matthew 7:3

Our own imperfections unfit us for judging fairly. With beams in our own eyes--we cannot see clearly to pick motes out of our brother's eye.

One of the qualities which make us incapable of impartial judgment of others, is envy. There are few of us who can see our neighbor's life, work, and disposition--without some warping and distortion of the picture. Envy has a strange effect on our moral vision. It shows the beautiful things in others, with the beauty dimmed. It shows the blemishes and faults in them, exaggerated.

Then, the lack of personal experience in struggle and pain, makes many people incapable of sympathy with sorely afflicted ones. Those who have never known a care, nor felt the pinching of poverty--cannot understand the experiences of the poor.

Thus in very many ways, we are unfitted to be judges of others.

"Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls." Romans 14:4

"You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother?" Romans 14:10

Addition Dr. Morris:

Traveling the world, in places known for jewelry, precious stones, AND, as all my friends know, always looking for a bargain-good buy, I would buy stones which could be later be put into a setting. I would have a sighted person look at the stone with a jewelers loop to make sure that the stone had a flaw-occlusion. It is unusual to find a perfect stone, when there is a flaw, you know that you have a real one.  It is difficult, many times, to tell the real from the synthetic. Synthetic stones do not have flaws-imperfections. It has never ceased to amaze me that God required a perfect animal (without blemish) (Exodus 12:5, Leviticus 3:6) as a sacrifice-offering to him. Just think of it, herds in a wilderness-desert with all the "infirmities" that could happen. Yet, the priest, if they saw a blemish outwardly or inwardly would decline the sacrifice and the person making the sacrifice must return to his flock for the second best.  We are told that the sacrifice was cut up, by the priest, in small pieces in order not to miss a blemish, burnt offering, sweet savor offered to God (2 Corinthians 2:15, Exodus 29:18).  Someone might think that smoke might get in God's eyes, that he could not see the blemish.

In a world of flawed-sinful-decadent people, and it is easy to think of the real-well known characters of evil and deceit (Herrod, Hitler, Stalin, etc.), we often think of those who have wronged us, even neighbors or family members BUT, they too, made in the image of God, lost, unsaved, needing a savior, probably very sweet babies- in the innocence of childhood, loved by mother. Only by the grace of God, the righteousness of Jesus and his spirit reborn in us, we become "his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10).  If God had the power to forgive my rotten sins, clean me up, he can do the same for others. He is in charge, it is his business.

There is so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it hardly behooves any of us
To talk about the rest of us.

Taranis

Taranis

Named for the Celtic God of thunder, world warfare's latest deadly peroxym, leading to robot wars, Britain's drone flying faster than the speed of sound, unmanned, actually picking out its target, evades enemy radar with its single-wing STEALTH design.

In Margaret Thatcher's 862 page book, The Downing Street Years, she makes the statement, "I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack, it means they have not a single political argument left."

This writer believes that only those who have never seen or known war keep building more advanced war-ing weapons and the greater powers inserting themselves into people and nations who are mostly interested in having enough food to survive one more day. The world is STEALTH, USA chief culprit inserting itself by STEALTH means into nation after nation in an attempt to influence the nation and above all "lift" from the nation's resources-assets (oil, uranium, copper, gold,) the latest continent "FLEESTS" by the world's super powers, Africa. There are 42 nations on the African continent (this writer has traveled most of them), highly trained U.S special forces are already involved in 26 of these nations and will be in 35 by year's in. Such forces are usually already there before anything about such is on the news, Mali, the latest prey. It has been 30 years since this writer was in Mali, Timbuktu, Banko, Dogon country, etc. Those poor striving people have no inkling of world politics but with radical Islamic terrorism, super powers "think" they have the right to interfere.

Americans have no concept of their STEALTH involvement into world tragedy. Hardworking, tax paying, God fearing men and women intent on making a living-raising a family, paying an inordinate amount of their income for an imposter regime with their taxes, to finance killings around the world. Even killings here in this country in abortion clinics (Planned Parenthood, abortion clinics, billions in tax subsidies) but, just as with so many other things, the state controlled news media never mentions it. The world, nature, both flora and fauna, speaks of life. Satan has tried to sell death. Do we really think we will escape the wrath of God? Do we really think there was anything happening in Sodom and Gomorra that is not happening in the big cities of America today?

In the very beginning, the paradise of the garden of Eden, God established his rights with just one tree. You can not have it all. He is "boss", expects trust from those to whom he has given life. Adam and Eve chose the spirit of death instead of the spirit of life and after 13,000 years, nothing has changed. People still prefer darkness to light, death to life. Those who kill the most innocent, babies in the mother's womb, children in foreign countries who only want the basics of living, God would say to the world's war-ing leaders, "What is wrong with you?"

Courage requires honesty, not using technology for killing. The human heart can not understand the masquerade of world leaders behind masks of deceit, defying God and every decency of man kind...often, not even for their own personal financial benefit. A man can only eat so much food, spend and hoard so much money. Obviously, they just want the power.  Tragedy, these power brokers, egotists, enabled by the world's news media.

In this writers lifetime, there have been much income paper, words, that have changed my life for the better. The sun will not set on a piece of ground in the world, there is not a town or city in the world where the Apostle Paul's words are not used or read to this day. The largest city in South America, San Paulo, named for this Apostle, one of the world's greatest churches, St. Paul's-London, named for this one man. God dictating Paul's words, my ambitions, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death" (Phil 3:10). In fellowship with him, he took that which he did not deserve and gave me the honesty-courage which I do not deserve. He gave me life and took my death, he took my sins, and gave me his righteousness.

People who want to deal with STEALTH war activities should learn about the supernatural liberty of life, a gift from God. But, Satan and those he controls, do not want anything to do with truth, the freedom of truth. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). The eternal word of God became the spoken word then became the written word. There is nothing stealth, hidden, unclear, about God's book. In his word you have everything you ever need for life. You can study, memorize, follow him in baptism, sit on many church pews but never come under God's control until you have a relationship with God's only son, Jesus Christ. My best is not enough. If only we could have had the opportunity which Peter had, to actually walk with God. For Peter to fail, as he did, tells us something. Satan is a tempter beyond all description and if Peter could fall, we mere mortals of the 21st century are just sitting ducks. 99 of 100 Christians did not pray this morning for God to keep them from temptation...Satan's stealth activity. This writer can well understand why non believers have so much trouble understanding the supposed faith of believers. There is nothing secretive-difficult about the Christian faith, JUST TOUGH. As one atheist in England said to me, "If I really believed what you say you believe, I would crawl on my hands and knees across England attempting to keep my fellow man from going to an eternal Hell."

Shipwreck

Shipwreck

"[We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

This writer was just a child at the beginning of WWII, interested in and intently listening to all news broadcasts about the Nazi invasion of Europe. My family had cousins who had returned from WWI and I still remembered their uniforms.

Edward R. Murrow would give, from London, detailed accounts of Nazi atrocities. I still remember Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, broadcasting from England, where she had fled, to the Dutch people. The Dutch people were starving but she encouraged them to stay alive, to help and protect one another. I remember one of my European guides, whose family had lived in the Hague for many generations, telling me how his parents suffered for one piece of bread. Toward the end of the war, allied bombers, flew low over the Netherlands dropping food. The absolute rule of monarchs, like the rule of Godless politicians, has visited more sorrow on mankind than we will ever know...injured-starving children.

Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will abdicate her thrown in April. Queen Juliana had succeed Queen Wilhelmina, and then her daughter Beatrix. The Dutch will have a King, Beatrix's son, Wilem-Alexander. This writers ancestors left Europe, went through the horrors of early American living, attempting to escape the brutality of monarchs. History has been punctuated by the rule of despots. Kings-queens, their ilk, void of conscience, some even claiming divine guidance, enslaving their fellow man. At the funeral of Louie the 14th, France, Notre Dame cathedral, Paris, the service by a cardinal, a large candle illuminated the front of the cathedral where the gold casket lay. The cardinal extinguished the candle and said, "He thought he was sun God but now he is like the rest of us."

The 21st century sees politicians-world's royalty-world's rich elitist, promoting and proclaiming a new world order. Each year the Bilderberg's-made up of these people, have a not so secretive meeting where they blueprint the directions we are supposed to follow. (2012-Virginia near Dulles Airport, 2011- Switzerland, 2010- Greece, etc.) These fellow human beings such as David Rockefeller, Queen Beatrix, Henry Kissinger, and 100 other of the world's power brokers and richest people, know nothing about the world's poverty, have never, as has this writer, seen groups of Chinese eating from a large pot of rice in the mornings before they go to assigned work details. They know nothing about dirt farmers, coal miners or mill workers. They just want to take over the world without too much shipwreck-destruction, and like American communists-politicians, keeping the masses subservient with just enough food to prevent starvation, enough shelter to prevent revolution, enough healthcare to prevent epidemics, keep the masses working so they can pay taxes to support the lifestyles of the "rich and famous."

In the shipwreck of academia, the dumbing down in education from elementary through college, students who once basked in a freedom of thought, now just puppets of the state. In the shipwreck of healthcare, the scientific community which took pride in discovery, now at the trough of government largess-foundation grants. In the shipwreck accompanying vows, oaths, even pertaining to marriage, or church membership, the same heresy as the oaths of politicians. In our 21st century lives, searching desperately to find nourishment for the soul in a desert of politically correct uselessness, I often tell people to nurture themselves from God's Holy word. "Nourishment from the sweet neat good meat" of promise, not choking on the bones of deceit which we can find anywhere.

I truly believe that 90% of faith is just raw courage. Now, and even more so in the future, it will take courage to live a Christ centered life, courage to raise a Christian family, courage to support-educate-motivate friends and associates.

The record is in, very clear for those who want to study it, only a miniscule few in the Old Testament were saved. Perhaps the saddest walk ever recorded, Moses and Aaron ascending mount Hor, where Moses removed Aarons high priest vestments to be put on Eleazer and Aaron, Moses' older brother, left to die, suffering the transgressions of the gold calf-his priest sons evaporated and, so it was with others. Old Testament, New Testament, the first thousand years of the universal church, like Demas "...loving this present world" (2 Timothy 4:10).

Called early in life, age 17, John, brother of James, son of Zebedee, lived to be the oldest (85). In his gospel, wrote the entire history of the world in four verses. "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:10-13).

The common man has always been able to comprehend the "Big I, Little U" attitude of our fellow man. It is just when picking over the shipwreck of this democratic republic, seeing how politicians paid millions to get elected to jobs that paid only thousands, exempting themselves from the very laws they made pertaining to everything even stock market investing, entitlements, retirements. We can know without a doubt that God is long suffering...otherwise, he could speak one word and end it all....even as he did one time before, speak one word and start all over.

Guns, Gays, Gods

Guns, Gays, Gods

This writer, a totally blind, 100% disabled veteran shudders when he thinks of the future of our country. Mr. Obama spoke in his inaugural about going forward. The only way we can go forward is by going backward, backward to yesteryear when God, family, country were honored. THE DOVE SHUDDERS WHEN HE SIGHTS A HAWK'S FEATHER.

When politicians, always, at the end of their speeches, use the well worn words, "God bless you", when Mr. Obama, at the end the his inaugural address said, "So help me God", what God are these people talking about? It certainly can not be Jehovah God of peace, love and mercy.

I believe I am right: Obama and his ilk, those on the platform with him, politicians-elected officials-others estranged to our God of the universe, eating the best of food from gold plates, limousine liberals, luxurious vacations, flying in luxury airplanes from one play place-watering hole to another, golfing-spending-spreeing. Why should they care?  "What difference does it make?" (Secretary of state, Clinton, senate testimony justifying the deaths of four Americans, giving a new definition to moral rot. Paradoxism: an avant-garde, Nuevo riche revisionism of every decency.) The false god, supposedly, they think they worship, does not see or hear. Jehovah God, creator of the universe, does not start something without finishing it.

The fakery of this inauguration, the imposter President, gay poet, lip syncing the national anthem, all fits into a pattern of national deceit. The national artist, if there were one, could paint on a very small canvas, the small people who seek to control us totally.

Obviously, as Mr. Saul Alinsky advised his star pupil, Mr. Obama, every economic and security barrier must be broken down. The democrats prefer to have all weapons for protection in a federal warehouse in Washington D.C, all federal food and other supplies in a federal warehouse, all healthcare in a federal facility.

Liberals should know that the first thing dictators and tyrants have always done is confiscate weapons that can be used against them (Stalin, Hitler, Tito). This writer was in Yugoslavia during Tito's reign. Person after person told me that they had no way of defending themselves against government, criminals, or anything else.

Not a foreign power of aggression, but it is the gay agenda that has so weakened this super power. Lesbian and gay, military assets, same hair length, never able to tolerate or realize the moral rot and decadence of front line combat. Only the most simple minded, those who do not care about winning, would change historical methods of warfare.

We think we are so smart, new technology, enabled by a secular-state controlled news media who so despise Christianity that they love animals more than respecting the creator God of the universe who created man in his own image. Liberals so protect snails-turtles- owls yet placid as 57 million babies-fellow human beings are killed. We can not roll back the clock even for those who have come from darkness into light, even for those of intellectual faith. With mercy, by grace, God has given every man a choice of opening the package...a free gift.

Need, a renewed spirit of 1776, we have all seen the picture of a real man, wife at his side, musket and Bible in his hand, walking to a nearby church house, exuberant in opportunity and responsibility. One democrat liberal said to this blind writer after the Obama victory, "The Constitution is an old piece of paper, The Bible a book of myths."

Nothing in God's word or in the history of man, conjures such a false concept as same sex marriage. Even among heterosexuals, where for most, there is nothing as bogus as same sex marriage, the attitude of marriage changes when you consider, according to scripture, that there is no possibility of divorce.

We get so tired of the mantra, paradigm shift of fairness in everything. What is the fairness of choosing your own God, of not being able to defend your loved ones-property with your own weapon (gun), of thinking that believers in a Holy God (prophecies, promises, the church, bride of Christ), should give acceptance to weird marriage rituals-legal or not?

Young David, eight older brothers, keeping father Jesse's sheep even when Samuel comes to anoint one son as Israel's King, still keeping the sheep when used as a "pizza delivery boy" to take food to his older brothers at the front lines (King Saul and his army) trembling a the sight of giant Goliath. David, killer of a bear and lion with his bare hands, just five rocks and a sling shot, fails the mighty Goliath and cuts of his head with the giant's own sword. David was right then as we are right now, the battle is the Lord's (1 Samuel 17:47). The battle has always been the Lord's, don't mess around with God. At the very beginning, with just one tree, Jehovah God-creator of the universe, established his rights. We can not have it all, we learn to obey. He expects those who are His, chosen-elected, to honor Him and Him only. "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve" (Luke 4:8). God's word and history replete with self defense, defense of family, defense of home and country. Those of the gay agenda, destroying the military with their asinine culture of death, destroying the lives of women (psychological trauma, breast cancer, eating disorders, sexual perversions-abortion-same sex marriage), should learn the truth that it is an awful thing "to fall into the hands of an angry God" (Psalm 5:4, 5).

Battle For Health

Battle For Health

NaturalHealth365) We all know the benefits of apple cider vinegar include weight loss; better skin tone, detoxification plus much more. If you haven’t tried this old-fashion remedy for better health – get ready for a pleasant surprise.
Diabetics can dramatically improve blood sugar levels – naturally
In a study printed in the American Diabetes Foundation’s publication, Diabetes Care – it stated that taking vinegar before meals drastically increase insulin sensitivity and reduced the insulin and glucose spikes, which occur after meals.
The study showed that healthy people along with pre-diabetics and those with type-2 diabetes all benefited from taking apple cider vinegar. All three groups had better blood glucose readings.
Another study, cited by WebMD, found that people with adult onset diabetes, who took two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar – before bed time – lowered their morning glucose levels by 4 to 6 percent. By the way, follow up studies looking at the long term effects found that moderate weight loss was part of the package.
A natural way to improve your mineral absorption
One of the other benefits for diabetics is the high acetic acid in apple cider vinegar has been shown to increase the body’s absorption of minerals in the foods that they ate. Type-2 diabetes is reversible – if the body’s balance of essential minerals is restored; diabetes is complicated by mineral deficiencies.
Popular weight loss programs often miss the “big picture” and profit from their poorly educated customer base.
Since obesity is a national problem, it is incredible that you can use an inexpensive natural product to help you see measurable results. There are studies, one published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, which found that people who consumed ascetic acid daily for 12 weeks decreased their weight, abdominal fat, waist circumference and triglycerides.
In another study using mice, published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, acetic acid seemed to prevent the buildup of body and liver fat.
A great apple cider home remedy for everyone
Apple cider vinegar has proven helpful for many everyday problems, including dandruff, acne and acid reflux – better known as heartburn. These are conditions which prescription drugs have proven to be nearly ineffective and, most certainly, extremely toxic for human consumption. Fortunately, there is a better way to care for yourself.
An apple cider vinegar solution can restore the pH balance of the scalp and discourage the growth of yeast-like fungus – which is thought to trigger dandruff and many other health-related problems.
This is one of the easiest way to tame dandruff, all you need to do is mix ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar with a ¼ cup of water – pour it into a spray bottle and spay it on the scalp, avoiding the eye and ears. A towel is wrapped around the area and left on anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour and then washed off, this is done once or twice a week.
Could it be time to throw away the “purple pill” for stomach trouble?
Apple cider vinegar helps eliminate acid reflux by providing an acid base to tighten the esophageal muscle weakened by eating too many processed foods. Acid reflux is thought of as a low acid condition – not an overly acidic one; it also helps break down fats and promotes digestion, which helps keep heartburn at bay.
The real benefit of apple cider vinegar is it is a natural bacteria fighting agent, which contains many minerals and trace elements including potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron and silicon – all essential for optimal health.                 In the health battle, sleep and nutrition are completely under valued. Look around you at any gathering, most adults and indeed most children are over weight, tired, stressed. As this writer has said in articles hundreds of times, your body is starving. You have treated your temple like a dumpster, the soil is depleted of minerals. Foods you buy have little nutrition. Their containers probably have more nutrition than the product in them.
Your stomach is not large enough, can not contain and control the amount of vegetables and fruits necessary to give you good nutrition.  When I tell my internists how many supplements I take, I get the same answer you get, "Oh my god." We were all taught the same thing, "You do not need supplements of any type if you eat a regular diet." This is a "fast food", quick delivery email world.
60-70% of your body is water. Only water gives nutrition to your brain and nervous system. Of course your city attempts to destroy your mental ability by pouring poisons into the water system (fluoride-chloride). The Nazi's put fluoride in the water of their captives, it destroyed their mental ability. The worst liquid you can put into your body is a diet soft drink...aspartame-splenda.  Today's clinicians are finding that many 40 year-olds have senility in vessels and general health. One hundred years ago, most Americans lived on the farm where they got exercise, drank fresh well water, ate fresh eggs, fresh gardened produce, berries and fruits right of the vines and trees.  Of course, your fueling each day starts with refueling in the morning....a basic wholesome breakfast. In my life, over many years, I have found that "since this is the day the Lord has made" (Psalm 118:24), I can not get along without having time with God in prayer. I urge you to pray for your family, your employees-fellow workers, your country and your church.  Let us pray for one another. In times like these, we need all the help we can get.

What Difference Does It Make?

What Difference Does It Make?

I attended one Baptist church, wonderful choir, engaging worshipers, a very poor preacher. I asked one lady, "Where did you find your pastor?" She said, "Now you know why I have stopped praying. Our pastor died and we prayed for a new one. He is what God sent us."

There is an Arab proverb, why pray for a camel when you expect a goat? Studying biographies of America's greatest families...the Adams, Kennedy's of Massachusetts, The Bush's of Texas, none will rack up the points of the Rockefeller's of New York...Nelson, David, Jay, etc.

The people of Arkansas elected Winthrop Rockefeller, first republican governor in that state, 1966-1971. Of course he bought the governorship and livened things with his famous wife "Bobo."

Another interesting couple was introduced on the American scene with Arkansas governor Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary.

No Hollywood script writer, in wildest imagination, could have written the historical account of their entry into American politics-Presidency, etc.

Many wish that this couple had just moved on, to Hollywood, Arkansas, somewhere else BUT, they refuse to leave...love their notoriety, nouvaeu riche status.

And, the democrats dream girl Presidential candidate (perhaps only out shined by Evita Peron of Argentina), as Bill does his post-Presidential thing, Hillary is doing and saying whatever necessary to have her swing with the Presidential acts after imposter-Marxist-Muslim Obama retreats.

It does not seem possible or probable since New Yorkers are supposed to be so sophisticated but they actually elected Hillary as their U.S Senator. Then, she ran for President but democrats, and other liberals, so intent on not being bigoted, elected Obama and to keep everyone happy she was made secretary of state.

Under her tutelage, one African Muslim country after another, has fallen to radical Islamist's: Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria and now Mali.

This world traveler, writer, has been to all these nations. The first time in Timbuktu, Mali (I had a small amount of vision in left eye at the time), main street of Timbuktu, a boy with a goat herd passed me on the dirt street. I actually went to the Dogon country, world's oldest civilization. Like most Muslim countries, they know nothing of world politics.

This week, before a senate committee investigating the chaotic skirmish in Benghazi, Libya when four Americans were killed...the lying and deceit practiced about the event from the top down, propped up and enabled by the state controlled news media, the secretary of state finally offered testimony. In the queries and amid many blatant lies,  irritated, she blasted, "With all due respect the fact is we have 4 dead Americans. WHAT DIFFERENCE AT THIS POINT DOES IT MAKE?"

At this point, many of we old disabled veterans would ask, "Did it make a difference that 126,000 Americans are buried on foreign soil? Thousands buried in national cemeteries, including Arlington, in America?"

In the year 2013, since 1973, 40 years, 57 million babies aborted after the Supreme Court legalized the killing of our most innocent. At this point, what difference does it make in all these lives? (Now, young people who would be paying taxes, musicians, doctors, teachers, mothers, and fathers.)  It did make a difference to those who aborted the babies. Many of whom have breast cancer-eating disorders-acute depression.

At this point, what difference does it make to God-national integrity-family life that same sex marriage is being promoted from The White House to the church house.

At this point, what difference does it make if one goes to Hell for murder or gambling? Sin is sin. The Godless democrat party who wanted God out of their platform should be indifferent to every type decadence.

At this point, what difference will it make that our female military soldiers are just men with longer hair? Have we not done enough damage to the once greatest military in the world infiltrating the ranks with homosexuals?  This field grade army medical officer would be the first to tell you that a woman can drive a truck-fly a plane-maneuver a helicopter just as well as a man. Perhaps some women have good marksmen skills, certainly can operate a computer. Men need a cause, have always been the protectors. Women offer sensitivity, the maternal instincts. It is when the enemy such as radical Islamists who degrade their own women are furnished a female captive (as history has shown), the real difference materializes.

The toughest, meanest men I have ever known, kicked out of ranger and seal ambitions.

To the uninitiated, everything is obscure.  The difference in warfare, capitalism, foreign relations...indeed, everything involving government, depends on the right people making the right decisions.

Soul Surrender

Soul Surrender

Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.

Scottish singer Annie Lennox, in a song called 'Cold', 1992, said, "Dying is easy its living that scares me to death."

This writer said to his cardiologist recently, "I don't mind being a martyr if the dying could be quick." What is it in the human psyche that causes a person to keep on keeping on after harsh illness, disability, the destruction of your home by storm or fire...even the loss of your companion, family member, or other physical or political assets which you had considered so important?

In one of movie actor Jack Lemmon's most famous quotes, an official in the garment industry in New York, facing death, "I just want another season."

This world traveler, traveling through India, sharing a compartment in a train with an Indian government official, he said, "Is this your first trip to India?" I said, "No I have been here several times and each time I feel like I am in the movie 'Gandhi'". The government official said, "You're right. Nothing changes. We have such a large population because each set of parents hope that one child will take care for them in old age."

No matter where you are in the world, which large city, no matter where you are in America, in a city or town of any size, you see fathers, and now many mothers, scurrying-rushing to get home after a days work. No matter what heathenism the liberals of the world try to visit upon you, same sex marriage, etc., as long as there are heterosexual-loving parents, who have produced children with their DNA, there is still hope-love left for mankind....generation seasons, the "normal" development of mankind. "And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children" (2 Chronicles 20:13).

Basic Christianity, believers who know the sovereignty of God and his book will never surrender their soul to Satan and his minions, powers of the air, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]" (Eph 6:12).

On one of my many trips to Africa, on a gorilla photography safari in Rwanda, a pygmy mother, stomach large expecting another child, carrying one baby in her arms, other younger children around her, I said to her, "You are a good mother." Now, she probably did not need all those children. She and the father who was one of the pygmy's assisting me in the gorilla hunt, probably had great difficulty feeding all those children but like the instincts of lower animals, she did not have one child to give up.

I once watched a possum, a dog attacking the nest where her young rested, the swinging tail-gnashing teeth of the possum, spectacular weapons. God gave the lower animals survival instincts. In the Kalahari, Botswana Africa, with binoculars (I had a small amount of vision in one eye back then), I watched a great eagle, around her nest, protecting her eaglets. In Antarctica, millions of penguins in the colonies, I watched the male penguin feeding his young.

The Morris definition for happiness, in spite of the unexpecteds life (disease, storms, fire)...disability, survival skills, having experienced the trauma of the unexpected, going to bed at night, anxious to get up the next morning after a night's rest and start all over again. We have this blessed assurance: "This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24).

There are 1,189 chapters in The Bible, this verse of scripture is exactly half way in The Bible, "[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man" (Psalm 118:8).  Everything on either side of that verse in God's inherent, sovereign word, proves that our happiness, our ability to continue, purpose for living-soul survival depends on trust in God.

You do not surrender your soul to moral rot. When you know that Christ came to give us "abundant life" (John 10:10), you can face whatever comes your way when you know that you are chosen, "called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). When your faith determines your circumstances, instead of your circumstances determining your faith, you know what Paul meant when he said, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Daddy's Chair

Daddy's Chair

GOD, give us men!
A time like this demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office can not buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty, and in private thinking;
For while the rabble, with their thumb-worn creeds,
Their large professions and their little deeds,
Mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps,
Wrong rules the land and waiting Justice sleeps.

Josiah Gilbert Holland

In youth, we do not realize how much time we will spend later on looking through the rearview mirror...looking back. I so pity the person without memories. We may carry around excess baggage of negativity, things that have made our lives hard, but so much more important: memories of things that were good. Such as our school teachers.

I used this illustration in so many graduation addresses: A secretary had prepared a list of Sir Winston Churchill's school teachers for one of his biographies. When she showed the list to this great man, at the top of the list of his teachers he wrote the name of his mother. He said, "My mother was my first and greatest teacher." This writer participated in the funeral (he was age 100), first graduate of North Carolina State University. One of the other men there asked me if my mother was still alive. He said, "Be so thankful and good to her, she is the best friend you will ever have."

I loved all my teachers (a small country school, 12 grade school, 13 in my high school graduating class). Ms. Dickinson was my first grade teacher, taught at the school nearly half a century. The principle told my father (chairmen of the school board) that there had never been one complaint about her. First day, she got her first grade students in line and kept them in line. There had never been a failure in the first grade and every student could read and write when they went to the second grade. I still remember, age 82, the first poem I ever learned, first grade:
"The jersey cow so red and white
I love with all my heart
because she gives us milk and cream
to eat with apple tart"
Back then, we memorized long poems, mathematics tables, etc. There was no television or video games to drain our mental ability. We read books, minds filled with imagination.

At the university, competing with fellow students from prep schools, large high schools, the states elitist families, many professors recognized students from hard core poverty-the state's poorest schools. I so remember Dr. Cecil Johnson, dean, crippled, walking with two canes. In my worst days, fighting the good fight of academic survival, he would say, "Thomas, life's greatest enemy is discouragement." I believed him, still believe him. That is the reason, for many years, I have given financial awards (checks of $3,000 each) to hundreds of pastors and teachers in Baptist churches. There is no group in the "vineyard" of servitude, the church, that needs more encouragement than volunteer or under paid Christian workers.

In other articles I have talked at length, much description, about covering every "pig path" in Eastern North Carolina, selling Bibles door to door during summer vacations (eight years of college and university professional education), saving every dime possible, sparitan living, I usually stayed with a family in a community. Ms. Brothers, Burgaw, N.C, housed some state highway workers, and me. She did not drive, no way of getting around but loved to go to church, especially "revival" meetings. So, I would take her to night services. I have never heard a woman with such a singing voice. Once, she said to me, "I want you to tell your mother that she did a good job."

I have used that phrase over and over, through the years, with employees. Often I would call their mother's and after telling them who I am, would say, "You did a good job." I believe there are no words in the world more appreciated by a mother about her child. "Aunt Mae" as she was affectionately known by the people in her town and church, born crippled, walked her entire life on her knees. She was a patient of mine, always pleasant, never letting anyone know that her disability was foremost in her life and the first thing that everyone thought about when they saw her.

Living to the age of 103, candidate for U.S congress at age 100 (N.C district-3) my friend, Dr. Henry Stenhouse was a retired naval officer-veteran of WWII. His patients called him the "diet doctor" because he was so opposed to prescribing chemicals. He believed that food and supplements would heal most pathology.

On the day of my father's funeral, my great grandmother's white, real linen, embroidered table cloth on my mother's dining room table. Relatives and associates, for lunch prepared by the women of my parents church, one of my uncles suggested that I, the oldest son, sit at the head of the table in my father's chair. I said, "No, my daddy's chairs will always be 'too special' for me." Such a man, the Holland poem, "God Give Us Men" applied to him. I was always amazed at how educated my father became when I went to college. He could do anything, as one of the preachers at his funeral said, "Sew at the sewing machine, cook anything, his farm a show place for agriculture experts, home photographed by newspapers." He would work on the tractor until 10 o'clock on Friday night, up early on Saturday morning milking the cow, feeding a large "lot" of hogs. Then, to a nearby town where he cut hair (barbershop), standing on his feet all day on Saturday...holidays when so much business. During the winter, crops end, carpenter, building houses. Sunday's, up early, to the church built by his great grandparents, fires in wood stoves over the church in the winter, opening windows, church and Sunday school rooms in the summer. We were always the last to leave the church because he made sure everything was closed up. I never knew him to be out sick, worked every day. At night, taking care of the church and school business. But, this great provider had the satisfaction of seeing each child graduate from college.

One of my doctor friends' secretary, member of a small rural Baptist church, told my friend that my father spoke at her church, that "The people had never heard such a good message." In the large sitting room of our home, my mother had given strict orders that we were to never sit in daddy's chair. This writer lived at a time when the father was honored in the home, both by mother and children. My grandmother's drove the car, so did their sisters, so did most women in the community. Women did not worry about liberation. They had liberty in Jesus Christ and in knowing that their husbands honored them.

At my father's huge funeral, family, church, since I was the oldest but had been left out of any planning for the services, the funeral director came over and handed me a piece of paper which I put in my pocket. Later, I had my driver read it to me....never shared it with anyone.  The card had come with a floral wreath delivered to the church. It was signed by a prominent N.C member of the legislature-senator. The card said, "In memory of the only man who ever asked me about the welfare of my soul." It is a fortunate man-boy so blessed, to feel that he can never walk in his father's shoes or even sit in his daddy's chair.

One Day AT A Time

One Day at a Time

Life comes to us in such little bits

(J.R. Miller)

"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6:11

"As your days--so shall your strength be." Deuteronomy 33:25

We should be thankful that life comes to us in such little bits.

We can always live one day well enough.
We can always carry one day's burdens.
We can always do one day's duties.
We can always endure one day's sorrows.

It is a blessing that one day is all that God ever gives us at a time. We should be thankful for the nights that cut off our tomorrows from our view, so that we cannot even see them until they dawn. The little days, nestling between the nights like quiet valleys between the hills, then seem so safe and peaceful.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own!" Matthew 6:34

"Show me the stairway I have to climb
Lord for my sake, help me to take
One day at a time

One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all I'm askin' of you
Just give me the strength
To do every day what I have to do
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine
Lord, help me today, show me the way
One day at a time"
-One Day at a Time hymn

The sighted person knows that night only lasts so long. Light, like joy, comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).  For your writer who has been in the darkness (blindness) for such a long night (50 years), my joy comes when I realize that one day I will bask in eternal light.

One never has a nervous breakdown from the events of yesterday or today, anxiety leading to neurosis (nervous breakdown) only comes from thoughts of tomorrow. Today, is tomorrow that never came AND many of us will never have a tomorrow to worry about. When you put your socks on in the morning, the mortician may take them off at night. Our long suffering Lord (Jesus and his disciples owned nothing-did not have a bed or house, "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head ((Matthew 8:16)). But he assured us that Solomon in all his glory did not have as much as the true child of God. In the "Think and Grow Rich" world, with its Madison Avenue techniques of prosperity, it is hard for the ambitious mind not to compete. After all, the Christian likes nice things too....houses, cars, clothes, vacations, tasty food BUT, our ambition is Heavenward. This writer has little patience with preachers-pastors who are caught up with high living. I am totally sickened by the opulent lifestyle of the Kenneth Copeland's, Benny Hinn's, Shuler families (Chrystal Cathedral, they have now run the old preacher and most of his children through the pulpit) lifestyles. We want our Christian ministers and ministries to look good (clothing, vehicles, houses) but not for the shepherd to live better than the sheep. This prosperity gospel is a bunch of nonsense. This seed faith planting, promoted by certain radio and television preachers, is a matter of conjecture. I firmly believe that you can not out give God but God's response to our giving is his business. He has his reasons for keeping some of us where he wants us.

Just as with Christian separation, I firmly believe in Christian preparation. Always, without fail, he provides our needs for the day, "...As thy days, [so shall] thy strength [be] (Deuteronomy 33:25).  The older I get, the more I marvel and praise God for the grace by faith shown by my parents, grandparents, ancestors. Just think what life was like in the early years of this republic. Does it bother you that today's young people, with all the blessings of technology and privilege, are letting it go so easily?

We do what we do because we believe what we believe. When we believe that God will take care of us, "one day at a time", there is much less anxiety-stress-depression, the greatest illness of the nation. (National Institute of Mental Health: 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older suffer from depression— about one in four adults.)
