Billionaire George Soros, one of the world’s richest men, who got his start scavenging the estates of his fellow Jews in Germany who had died in the holocaust, the financier of Obama's rise to socialist power, “leap-frogging” every economic insurrection to make himself richer, America poorer, has said we are living in the worst days in history. He is expecting a revolution, led by the “occupiers” which he has financed... mostly young people despising the American republic and who, like the Russian proletariat of almost exactly 100 years ago, seek to equalize, spread the wealth, through bloody streets if necessary, destroying capitalism.
This writer has traveled-visited almost every nation in which communism has been tried. Without exception, always, it is the purveyor of dissatisfaction to disgruntled people willing to fight for an ideal who put such as Soros and Obama into power, insulating their increased wealth. It is a fable that comrades of communism are equal. Those at the top, however they get there, (Soros, Obama, Chavez) from lofty perches of riches, look down on those who put them there.
The dismantling of the constitution, defilement of religious decency, such as happened in Russia, China, Korea, even Cuba, almost took over in America during the FDR Great Depression. Books have been written about that time in American history, so easy to disown books. It is up to us who lived through it, to remind others about the horrors of that economic-sociological event. You are who you are because of your birth, your DNA, the marvels of your ancestry.
For years, I have talked and written about my memories of that time, starving people, starving farm animals. Human beings living like those I have seen in third world countries, shacks with dirt floors, entire towns closed with boarded up store buildings, even once prospering families riding in wagons pulled by mules.
I must have been four or five years of age. My parents-grandparents did not shelter me from anything. An old woman in the community died, A TOTALLY DESTITUTE FAMILY. Like her mother before her, these destitute families sent for my mother to prepare the woman for burial. (my grandmother-mother delivered the babies and laid out the dead) My own mother wore dresses, carefully made from hog-feed sacks, and so was this woman's shroud. I still remember the wood coffin put in the church on “saw-benches”. Cousin Floyd hauling the coffin to the graveyard on the back of his pickup truck.
Twenty-five miles south west of Chicago (Daily Mail Reporter), the dead are being buried in wood boxes, indigent mass burials, common graves. When this writer traveled India, several times, walked the streets of Calcutta where “death-wagons” still roamed the streets, early morning hours, picking up the dead. (street people born, living, dying on the streets) We think that it could never happen here. Europe is gone, the roots of western civilization (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, etc.) where there was magnificence in religion, commerce, philosophy allowed decadence to take over and their nations overrun, not by terrestrials-aliens from another planet, but primitive nomads demanding acceptance of their foreign thoughts in religion, tearing down of their disciplines, seizing-sharing their wealth. Of course, there were the academics, liberals who thought that the actions of the foreign nomads was FAIR. Like retirement, vacations, entitlements, fairness is a new notion, certainly not found in Holy scriptures.
Even with the disparity between people, places, things in America, Europe, and over the world, as has always been the case. (some eat from gold plates as others eat from begging bowls)
The most expensive restaurant in the world is “Noma”, Copenhagen Denmark. Seating 40, 80 servers and workers, you wait months to get a reservation and your meal costs hundreds of dollars. The enticement of the place, to the rich and famous, new taste sensations... vinegar type residue from grass, bark, insects, marine life. Food served must be in season and local, but mostly a reinvention of Nordic cuisine.
World famous, Cleveland Clinic states that one-half American adults are obese, one-sixth of American children are obese. Nutritionists-neurologists, such as Russel Blaylock, MD tell us that Americans are obese eating wrong-cheap food while cells in the body are starving for nutrition. Like investing, healthcare pays well if you start early. The Kingdom of God is here and now, as well as eternal, in spite of circumstances, a rich inner life.
Christian poet, T.S. Eliot said, “In the good times, affluent men have left a legacy of Highways and golf balls.” The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. (Psalm 34:10)
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11)
