            In the study of microbiology it is not HOW God designed the trillions of cells that make up the human body, but the WHY.  In dealing with enzymes, fungi (i.e. the clotting of blood, why every cell's function must work out so exact), science has always been baffled, can not reproduce or even explain this miracle of creation.

            There can be no opposition between faith and science!  It is interesting that Bill Gates, the world's richest man, promoter of eugenics and euthanasia, sends his family to church.  Gates said there is no opposition to people going to church.  Many unbelievers have always had difficulty adjusting their scientific beliefs to the supernatural beliefs of the church. 

            In Pisa, Italy, I could well imagine Galileo, a Roman Catholic, observing the heavens with his telescope.  The Catholic priest would not even look through the telescope, although Galileo's daughter was a nun. 

            From the period of enlightenment, even until this day, most scientist and some liberal theologians, think man has the ability to redeem himself.  No one can doubt the good that science has brought to mankind... travel, communication, and more comfortable lifestyles (this writer well remembers the time before air conditioning, refrigeration, air travel... I well remember when there were very few cars in an entire community, only one telephone, the time before zippers, plastic, deodorant, etc.).  Science can not determine good from evil, overcome evil and even death (with all of our government and foundation grants, the zenith in education, more people die from disease than ever before!  There are more mental health problems than ever before, for instance 22 military veterans commit suicide EVERY DAY!!!)  Science can not speak to love, the love of a child for a parent, the love between two persons of the opposite sex, love of country, love of God.  Science will never be able to define or deny the human emotions at a funeral service.  Science can not define or deny the boundary of hope! 

            In Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, the girlfriend of Scrooge, said, "he fears too much."  God speaks of fear 365 times in His word.  Able bodied people can not picture themselves in wheelchairs, blind, bedridden.  Most of the world is caught up in depression and stress.  The annual cost to treat depression in the US is 44-55 BILLION dollars!  Most people, even very young people, are like a very taunt-stretched string... ready to snap.  They think taking drugs (and all drugs have side effects) will lessen the stress on the string.  That stress can be loosened-relieved by faith.  I am not talking a "playing church" faith.  I speak of the real thing,  a new birth-creation of repentance and belief.  Real faith is action, based on belief, sustained by confidence.  In the new birth, the old person of sin and rejection is replaced by the righteousness of Christ.  Through God's spectacles, looking at you, He sees the righteousness of Jesus.  Many who can not believe, well exposed through church and society, to the activities of faith, are far from comfortable-convinced in their unbelief... a prescription for misery.  Have you ever thought of the joy of seeing the expression in the face of our blessed Lord as he stood before Pilot?!  Here, God in man, the One who created the world, being questioned by this penny ante governor, about truth.  Pilot, only interested in his 15 year old wife, questioning God!  Can you even imagine Jesus' face as He was thinking, "One look and I could vaporize you."  When will Christians learn the blessedness of their faith?!   The contentment of overcoming anger with forgiveness.

            When one can understand, that which science has never been able to explain, simple forgiveness... a small child still loving the parent after discipline... an abused animal still loving it's master.  We will begin to believe in love such as Jesus expressed on Calvary when he said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."  Luke 23:34

            Many think it is easier to live without faith, the boundaries of faith, or the gift of redemption.  The atheist, in fact, all people they want to believe they will go to heaven.  They don't want to spend eternity with the decadent hateful-sinful people with whom they have had so much fun with here on earth.  God hates sin and everything involved in sin.

            The TV personality, Phil Donahue, atheist, said, "Why did God not correct everything bad here on earth?"  The truth is the truth whether anyone believes it or not.  God did correct everything through His only begotten son who came to this earth, in the "fullness of time" (Galatians 4:4) to live as an example for all of us and then, because of his love for us, die a sacrificial death and, through believing in Him, become a joint heir in His inheritance.

Thanksgiving and Fairness

The only truly American holiday, Thanksgiving. This day smothered by the pagan decorations of Halloween and Christmas. God's word did not instruct us to celebrate Christ's birthday... only memorial instructions, His sacrifice for us on the Cross, celebrated at the Lord's table.

Forgotten, but must be remembered, “Good news”, the gospel has two sides... what God did for us and a history of what Saints of God have done in return.

Here in the room where this is dictated, a cast iron fireplace, cooking pot brought over from England by my family who landed on New Jersey shores. (Morristown farm survey, 1766) Just as most Americans do not realize that 75% of the world's children have never tasted ice cream or slept on a mattress. Premier, primitive Americans eaked out a bare existence, thankful for shelter, fire in a chimney, just any method of preparing food.

But, they took time to be thankful for the goodness of God. There is a difference in the mind of God and the mind of man. Providing for us is always in the mind of God, and thanking Him for provisions should always be in our mind.

The word fair is not found in God's word, even Bill Gates, America’s richest man, unbeliever, in his 10 rules for success in business, tells us that there is no such concept as fair.

From the first time I heard President Obama speak, I knew he was anti-Christ, proven time and time again, in speaking of fair share. The serpent, in the garden of Eden, introduced fairness to Eve... the beginning of all sin, the downfall of man. The concept of fairness was foreign to early Americans. Food from a tortured east coast soil, as they buried their dead from horrendous winters, THEY THANKED GOD FOR OPPORTUNITY.

The Jewish faith of the old testament, a chosen people seeking to live under God's law, observed feast of Thanksgiving. The feast of tabernacles, seven days of living in a temporary “booth” or shelter outside their home in memorial of their life in the desert. During that week, they made 203 sacrificial offerings to God in thanksgiving for His abundance. This practice of living in a temporary shelter is still observed by some Orthodox Jews, until this day.

Some Americans, even the disabled, those who did not win life's lottery as far as possessions, good health, good looks, good brain power, take time for Thanksgiving. Thankful, to the giver of life, for life, eternal life, and it's blessings.

There have always been those who felt they have been left out. Recently, the beginning of the 20^th century, the progressive movement and even the veterans of WWI. Then, mid 20^th century hippies, now, occupiers, much like Baghdad Bob, giving a ridiculous excuse for their plight in society. This totally blind, 100% disabled veteran, who was never been able to even get a white cane or talking watch from his government can understand the “young folks” resentment toward stretch limousines, life in penthouses-beach chalets. From one side of the world to the other, and I have observed it all, whether a political tyrant, or one who inherits great wealth, and much of it is just plain luck, there has always been and will always be great inequality in our very short life here on earth. (when you get my age you realize how short it is and you look back at blessings, not fairness) It is at the Cross of Jesus Christ that we obtain equality... the greatest equality beyond imagination, a joint heir with God, the One who threw the stars into space. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:17)

Now this is a reason for thanksgiving, with Christ, we own all the gold in the earth, the cattle on a thousand hills. (Psalm 50:10)

The occupiers, welfare moochers, dependence on entitlements, the slow but certain drift to communism. Who needs God when you have government? Christian joy, the fount of everlasting pleasure, like plugging a cord into an electric socket, like electricity, always available and dependable. “Young folks”, thinking science and technology is their god, thinking that life is just pushing computer buttons, know nothing of the ugliness of war, hardships that made this country great. We can give without loving but we cannot love without giving. Love of country, Love of God, results in thanksgiving. Pushing aside any thoughts of fairness, because God delights in blessing us, whether we deserve it or not.

It was Judas (betrayer of our Lord for the price of a hog) who resented the “waste” of Mary Magdalene's worship of our Lord, her thanksgiving with the Alabaster box. (Jesus had cast seven devils out of Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9)) and she showed her thankfulness by pouring onto Him all her wealth. Jesus said, that what she had done should be told wherever the gospel is preached. There is nothing cheap about real thankfulness, and God knows.

Fairness

Born in Seattle, Washington in 1955, Bill Gates, since 1995 has been at the top of the world's richest men. Co-founder of Microsoft, philanthropist, writer of several books, he has given us his ten rules for success in business: his first rule: life is not fair, get used to it.

Don't confuse success with celebrity, think of Bill Gates and Helen Keller, or Madonna with Joni Eareckson Tada. Think of the thousands of our finest who lie buried in military cemeteries around the world and the Bernie Madoff, Ken Lay, Harvey Milk, Charles Wrangle or the thousands filling America's prisons who have chosen the low road rather than the high road of life. Their vote in an election counts just as much as yours. Prisoners eat better than most disabled veterans.

Studying history, we know what happened to most of the corrupt historical figures in the world. Not only did most of them suffer here on earth, but if everything we believe to be true about eternity, they will suffer forever. One of the most revered men in history is King David, although a first class sinner, spending his live in many psalms in repentance, was a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). David's son, King Solomon, world's wisest and richest man, 300 wives, 700 concubines, builder of the great temple, wonder of the world, still richest building ever built (est. 14 billion dollars), bowed when his mother Bathsheba came into the room. King's fathers were never mentioned, except in this case, but their mothers were always given prominence.

You may not be a king or even related to royalty, but it is a sorry man who does not honor his mother, the fairness involved in what she went through to give you birth and to raise you. I like to see a boy pull out a chair for his mother at a table in a restaurant. Abortion is still inconceivable to the hearts and minds of most people. We are only responsible for sin, but ours is a destiny of sacrifice (Romans 1). The person who deserves the most is always the weakest, the person who deserves the least is always the greatest. A group of university seniors were asked to put the ten commandments in the order in which they considered their importance. Of course, as expected they put #1. Not to murder, #2 Not to steal, these are laws in every civilization, religious or not. Their ninth commandment was honoring father and mother, and their tenth commandment, a total reversal of the commandments which God Himself had given, honoring God and having no idols before Him.

There is a joy in goodness, a satisfaction in fairness. We like to see the criminal punished, justice rewarded. I said to a detective recently, having reported things taken from a house by a tenant, “this boy is not the criminal type, he is just young and dumb.” It is not always the monetary value of a theft with vacating tenants, (towels, bathroom rugs, kitchenware, wastebaskets, trashcans, shower curtains, curtain rods, brooms, chairs) but it is the aggravation of having to replace these things, the time and money involved. Careless driving in a parking lot, when you slightly damage anothers' car, is not a matter of vehicular accident, but it ruins the aesthetic, psychological enjoyment of your car as well as the time and expense in returning it to it's undamaged condition.

I remember arriving in the country of Togo, the customs officer let me know real quick that he expected a five-dollar tip in order for me to get my suitcase. Going into India, my guide went to the duty-free shop to get gifts for the customs officers. It ruins your trips to these places to know you are exploited at the very doorway of the country.

If every person were born the right color skin, the right hair color, eye color, healthy, wealthy, wise. All the genetic code that makes life fair, then we would have nothing for which to wish or want, pray or work and we would get very tired of one another.

It took me a long time to get over the unfairness of blindness. But, it is only when we are down that we can look up. Christ told us that we must die in order to live, this is the advantage of farm life, only through seed do you have harvest. Only by giving to do you get. Only though death do you live.

Fairness

Bill Gates, one of the world's richest men said, “life is not fair, get used to it.” The average teenager uses the phrase “it's not fair” 8.6 times a day. You got it from your parents, who said it so often you decided they must be the most idealistic generation ever. When they started hearing it from their own kids, they realized Rule Number 1. Search the scriptures and you will not find the word fairness. But, 365 times in God's Word, He tells us not to be afraid.

Think what you will of him, but I happen to agree with this quote by Alex Jones: “The Obama Deception completely destroys the myth that Barack Obama is working for the best interests of the American people. The Obama phenomenon is a hoax carefully crafted by the captains of the New World Order. He is being pushed as savior in an attempt to con the American people into accepting global slavery. We have reached a critical juncture in the New World Order's plans. and only by exposing the con can we help to save freedom in America.”

Sinclair Lewis, one of America's greatest writers, wrote the book It Can't Happen Here, in which he described in detail the exact situation in which we find ourselves today in this Obama treason. I predict now as rapidly as this country is being destroyed in just the six months he has been in office, President Obama will be impeached.

History books have been sanitized, but history has been sufficiently preserved for us to know that “God is Boss.” Only the humble can be taught, and when pride gets too great God has a way of straightening us out. The children of Israel, were within three week's walking distance of the Promised Land but God had them (in basic training) in the wilderness desert for forty years as a lesson to them and to us. Even to this day, the medical caduceus worn by every military medical officer shows a serpent on a pole. In the wilderness, Moses was instructed by God to put a brass serpent on a pole so that those who were “unfairly” bitten by the vipers which invaded the desert would be healed.

John the Baptist said, “behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29. Just as in the Passover, He was a “lamb without blemish.” (I Peter 1:19) “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, Christ told us that if He were lifted up He would “draw all men unto Him.” (John 12:13) Specifying His being lifted up on the cross, and by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 52).

We cheat ourselves by not participating in this one act of remembrance at His table. I have actually heard of someone who believed in Christ as Savior, baptized in the initial ordnance of the Christian church, never having participated in the recurrent ordinance of the New Testament church to worship at the communion table with the bread and wine, in full atonement of His power of healing and forgiveness. Communion with our Savior; the symbols of His broken body and shed blood, the bread and wine, the most precious act of worship, the joy of Christianity. He did not say anything about how seldom you should do it, but reminded us to do it often. “This do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25).

When I looked at the painting of the Last Supper in Milan, Italy I thought of the consternation as well as the joy as these twelve, rather insignificant, average men must have experienced. Did they ever realize their place in the history of the world? Moses was held up as an example of faithfulness throughout the New Testament. Christ's last miracle, the restoration of the ear of one of His captures would have astonished many in that act of fairness. God, only to give the signal for the millions of angels who heralded His birth could have rescued His only Son from earth's heathen. When one thinks of fairness, you consider the crucifixion of Christ but you consider the offering of the only son of the world's richest man, Abraham, who having waited almost 100 years for this beloved son, did not offer any excuse for fairness.

We worship a God of justice and so will He deal with us, individually and as a nation. Is this fairness?

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.” (1 John 3:1)
