Chills and Fever

Spring is here. Blessed with beautiful trees, pollen is falling; blessed with beautiful flowers and plant-life, the nutrition and fragrance designed by God, are tantalizing our senses.

My bright, most-unusual parents prepared their children for the “chills and fever” of the growing season by giving each of us a large tablespoon of Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic. I studied much chemistry, but I could not tell you what was in this long-extinct medicine, probably sulfur, sorghum and other things of medicinal value. You see, there was a time when parents did not trot to the local doctor for every little chill or fever. Inoculations or swallowing antibiotics, in most cases are totally unnecessary and contraindicated, useless at a time of real need. These high-powered, insidious, immune-depressants, killing the good bacteria in the gut, opening the door for any and every sniffle or wheeze...just one of the ways the world has completely changed in my lifetime.

Some of my happier days were spent visiting the great city of Nashville, Tennessee. Not just the home of the Grand Ole Opry, but headquarters for the great Southern Baptist Convention, the largest denomination next to Catholicism. I knew people who went to Belmont Abbey when it was a small Baptist institution; now, free of any denominational shackles, liberal, having gone the way of Sodom. The women's soccer coach was recently fired because she is married to another she, and they were going to have a baby. I still don't think that situation is as bad as the one here in the county in which I live, a self-presented lesbian married to a she, they having adopted a baby boy and having a vicious public custody battle after their divorce. The stupid people in this community, mostly the blacks and the academics, outvoted her opponent and sent her to the state Senate. Such is the time in which we are living, predicted by every means of human reasoning, and certainly by holy prophecy.

The greatest chill to the Christian, and there are very few of us, probably less than 5% of the population (although anyone not Jewish professes to be Christian). $363 million tax dollars supporting Planned Parenthood, to which 96% of all abortions are attributed. Just think, your tax dollars used for killing the most innocent. As Mr. Obama, his administration and the defense department bomb women and children across the world, the most dangerous place for a child in America is the mother's womb...certainly for black babies, where 52% of all black babies are aborted (in the state of New York, 60%). Real Christians who speak out about this genocide are considered radical. Chris Matthews, noted news commentator, who when he was a student at UNC Chapel Hill, was well-known for his gay activity, is reported to have said that the closest thing to the Taliban in America are Christians.

Another chill to the Christian, there was time when, in the spring, “a young man's fancy turned towards a beautiful young lady”. Remember, I said lady because there was a time when the word “lady” had meaning, not a fever pitch toward sexuality or immorality. At Yale University, “sex week” comes in the spring, a time for sessions of love-making, pornography, “sex education”. A recent lawsuit at Yale challenges the Yale doctrine that “Yale should be treated like a woman...cursing her, but congratulating yourself in your possession of her.” Yale is known for male chauvinism (professors groping and harassing women), so crippling that there has been one lawsuit after another. So much for liberated women. Where is the American Association of University Women, NARAL, or even the progenitors of the absolutes of right and wrong, not just protesting inequity in America, but on the front lines of desperate Islamic slave-women around the world?

In my world travels, I have seen the unbelievable treatment of womankind in many countries, but remember, until Jesus Christ came into this world, women everywhere were less than slaves. To show the hypocrisy, the blight in the thinking of supposed intelligent people...I heard Dr. Bob Jones Sr., speaking of the public's attitude towards Bob Jones University say, “many Christian parents did not want their children to attend Bob Jones University because we did not allow smoking, drinking and dancing on our campus.” Now, after all these years, smoking is not allowed anywhere, everyone has seen what liquor excesses has done for our country, and very few do any dancing before the bed room. Would it not be wonderful if every college and university campus in America had the moral attitude, the intellectual achievements of Bob Jones University? The problem is American academia is controlled by Godless, frivolous communists. Even the so-called Christian colleges...most have been extricated from denominationalism, Ferman, Wake Forest, Duke, Princeton, etc. these are just hotbeds of immorality, pornographic sexuality, and economic fatalism.

Doing the wrong thing in one area, leads to doing the wrong thing in every area. Need I remind you that doing the wrong thing in high school, on the college campus, leads to the wrong thing on Wall Street, on “K” Street, Main Street, legislative houses, courthouses, schoolhouses, church houses. It all starts at your house, preventative measures against not only the physical sicknesses which come between seasons, but moral sickness present in every season.

Every American, whether interested enough in his country to vote, or not, should have chills and fever just thinking of the masquerader in the White House, those who put him there most assuredly hate this country. The most despicable despot known to man, could not have done a better job of destroying this nation.

As a youngster, as was the ideals of many youngsters, we could only imagine the thrill or Evel Knievel, the world's best motorcycle rider on a motorcycle jumping great distances, over cars, trucks, even canyons. Evel said, “I fail many times, hitting pavement and other things very hard, breaking bones, suffering in hospitals. The one thing that kept people coming to see me, I was never a failure, I always got up and tried, even greater things, again.” He further said, “I always prayed to God before my feats.“ I heard him on the radio, before he died in 2007, giving the marvelous testimony that his greatest accomplishment was believing in Jesus Christ.

I need another dose of “Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic” this spring, I am having chills and fever. Old, totally blind, a medical officer veteran of the Korean war, just thinking of what young people will encounter facing the future of this country, in this world, sold out to Satan.
