REVOLUTION BY EVOLUTION

Help. Lord, for the Godly man now ceaseth;

For the faithful fail among the men. When the wickedness of sin increaseth, Help, Lord, Help, Lord! Send us good men!

(H.T. Spence, “Help, Lord, for the Godly Ceaseth”)

Why has it taken so long? Lord of Hosts, solving God – omnipotent – omniscient – omnipresent saw it all coming. Don't think for one minute that God had only one spot light which He used on Saul of Tarsus. God could have caused blindness on every one of us, could have converted the entire world if He so desired. From that first tree in the Garden, He established His rights, His truth. God did not waste words in His book. It does not matter what we think. Eve did not stand a chance. Satan, Prince of the Air, the most beautiful and charismatic of all angels, actually seduced one-third of all angels to come to earth with him as demons. He has only the power which God gives him. But that is enough to conquer all of us unless, we have the power of the Holy Spirit within us (Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4). Most Christians, most Theologians, have never understood that we are at warfare with Satan. We can win the battle with the “whole armor” of God (Ephesians 6).

The most interesting history the human mind can comprehend involves the super natural yet permanently enthralled story of the Jewish people as found in the Old Testament. In the book of Chronicles it is hard to understand how these people would alternate their religious convictions between Jehovah God and Baal (false gods). Time and time again, even the temple was desecrated by idol worship, kings and their families, armies overthrown.

Jesus and His followers knew the history of the Jewish people, even the seven pagan nations occupying the Promised Land when the Jews arrived. The Septuagint which Jesus and His disciples read was precise Greek. One would think that the gospel writers would have, under the inspiration of God, warned all nations concerning satanic epiphany.

Two thousand years later, we still refuse to learn, would still free Barabbas. As recent as this morning's newspaper, officials of Barclay's Bank, robbing, wheeling – dealing. Officials of the world's largest big pharma corporation, GlaxoSmithKline, fined 3 billion for their robbing, wheeling – dealing. As was the case with the great library at Alexandria, Egypt (world's greatest manuscripts and books burned), the Islamic library and temples at Timbuktu, Mali, slowly destroyed by Islamic fanatics. Like the great standing Buddhas at Banyan, Afghanistan, I feel so fortunate to have seen the great architecture at Timbuktu before its destruction.

Of all the values in human existence, integrity is one of the last things to go. When a culture – nationality whether in Cambodia or Afghanistan or Mali allows it's history to be destroyed, international values and the world cannot be far behind.

This veteran went to France for the 25th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, have stood in national cemeteries all over the world. Would the young men just dumped in these graves recognize the nation which they defended?

Socializing losses, privatizing profits, the greed and envy which has taken over this nation is hardly worth their sacrifices. They had only one life too. They gave the last measure of their devotion thinking they were protecting and defending people who knew right from wrong.

The poaching of liberty has become a matter of reform only as a last resort. We just accept the fact that popularity is more important than principles, that political correctness is the dynamic of every human activity. Who cares about the truth established by a holy God when we can be so easily influenced by Madison Avenue techniques?

Patriotism has become a matter of sociology. Not giving to the country but getting everything possible from the country while the country is still standing – not in default. It was so simple for JFK to say not to ask what you want but what you can give. The enigma of entitlements, the extravagance in high living is an insult to those who gave all, an embarrassment to those chosen by God, to live a life of faithfulness and gratefulness.
