Tapestry




One of the most beautiful areas of the world, high in the Himalayas is the country of Kashmir.

Kashmir is the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term "Kashmir" referred only to the valley lying between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal range; since then, it has been used for a larger area that today includes the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir consisting of the Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh; the Pakistani-administered provinces of the Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir, and the Chinese-administered region of Aksai Chin. In the first half of the first millennium, Kashmir became an important center of Hinduism and later of Buddhism; later still, in the ninth century, Kashmir Shaivism arose in the region.

The heritage of Kashmir during this period is well documented in Rajatarangini by Kalhana. In 1349, Shah Mirza became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir and inaugurated the line Salatin-i-Kashmir. For the next five centuries Kashmir had Muslim monarchs, including the Mughals, who ruled until 1751, and thereafter, the Afghan Durranis, who ruled until 1820. That year, the Sikhs under Ranjit Singh, annexed Kashmir. In 1846, upon the purchase of the region from the British under the Treaty of Amritsar, the Dogras ( I have visited Amritsar twice and the gold temple of the Sihks)—under Gulab Singh—became the new rulers. Dogra Rule, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until 1947, when the former princely state became a disputed territory, now administered by three countries: India, Pakistan, and the People's Republic of China.(warfare and earthquakes have effected the whole area)

I was probably one of the last Americans to visit this mountainous wonderland because it has become a war zone between Pakistan and India. I remember not only the beautiful country but the beautiful people. Their beautiful lives so beautifully shown in the tapestries and rugs which they weave. As one who is totally blind I am still haunted by the scene of entire families sitting on the ground in shed-like structures knotting and weaving Kashmir carpets and tapestries. Most of the children, and they all work in the family business, because of the intricate work and poor lighting, lose their eyesight at a very early age. My guide explained how the hundreds of spools of thread were utilized in perfecting on one side of the carpet a marvelous scene, very smooth and intricate, but on the other side just a mass of knots, twists, and curls necessary in the final product.

How much the hand making of such a product of art is like the human life.  For most of us, it has been a matter of knots, twists, and curls under impossible circumstances in achieving the final product. (or as the scripture tells us the end of the race)  Dag Hammarskjold, Swedish, second secretary of the UN, killed in a plane crash early in his career in Zambia in 1961.  In his Bible, these words were found, “we are born to die“. Such was the comments of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran minister, who went to the gallows and was hanged naked along with other German Jews. ““Only he who believes is obedient and only he who is obedient believes.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer) Someone who witnessed his execution said, “I never saw anyone walk so straight and his last words were that he was born to die”.


Old men dream dreams and young men see visions. As we approach the sunset years of our life we are more aware than in our youth that it is not a “dress rehearsal”.  It is so important, early in life, to get on the right road and stay in the right direction. I have known and employed many young men in my time.  I was always very serious about my life and I believe I could have been successful in accomplishments going in many directions.  One young man who worked for me, the survivor of many tragedies, said to me one time when we were eating in a restaurant “my mother did not want me, she gave me away and I have never had a chance at all”. Later, one day when driving for me he said “I don’t understand why you are so good to me”, I said, “I don’t want you to ever say again that no one has ever been good to you or not treated you well”.

We hear daily of the crime statistics, the short comings of our young people.  I have said from the public platform many times, “it amazes me that most of them turn out as well as they do”.  An article in a local newspaper, the Raleigh NC News and Observer, featured an article about the death of a small boy.  The article went into detail describing the wounds, broken bones, and internal injuries of long standing, before the child finally died from horrendous abuse.  I went to the sink in my kitchen and just threw up because this was a child of God, a child that could have been a blessing to loving parents. Hell is really too good for adults who abuse children.

Yet, the greatest abuse of children, in this country as in other Godless countries in the world happens before birth when the small baby is torn apart in the mothers womb in the most horrible of all atrocities, pre-birth and partial birth abortion.  Those who have seen the small limbs, hands, faces, do not easily forget the abortion holocaust promoted by such pro abortion politicians as president Obama, governor, now secretary of human resources, Kathleen Sebelius, who vetoed six bills passed by the Kansas legislature to prohibit such destruction of life.  Her greatest supporter financially and otherwise who has made a fortune doing these abortions, Dr. Tiller, as well as the planned parenthood group. 

God is still in charge, and this country as in China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea, and the others who in the details of history have never prospered as a nation. Pope John Paul, said “any nation that kills its own cannot be called a nation“.  Will it take a disastrous earthquake, a terrorist strike, which in either case could lead to the death of millions, to awaken this country to the danger of spitting in the face of a God capable of wrath. 

The Catholic church, more so than these smaller protestant denominations who are declining in effectiveness (the mainline denominations declined 12% last year, there are more professed atheist than ever before, 12%), are on the forefront in the pro-life battle.  They always have been in the forefront with children, even when Arch Bishop Sheen was alive and giving his television broadcasts for 30 years.  Sometimes he would get as many as 100,000 letters a week with money to help in the fight against poverty and abortion.  Once, in the Congo, near Goma (where today much fighting and horrendous torture is taking place) I met a Catholic priest, Father Swain, who was driving a pick up truck, on the back of which were 6 AIDS victims. Males who were almost dead from this dread disease that is wiping out Africa.  A nanny goat was in the back with them which furnished nourishment for them as he was trying to maneuver the truck through unspeakable bush country to a hospital.  He told me, “I cannot help very many of them, but I do what I can”.  He also said, “Americans have no idea of how many people are dying in this country, and on this continent”.  The abortionist would say that all these sick people, and the disabled, (such as myself) should not or do not have a life.  These “normal”, superior human beings, do not understand the weaving of a tapestry or expensive Kashmir carpet.

In the early years of this nation most people lived on farms, where they knew the fascination of life, seeds that became plants, animals which produced young animals, hens hatching eggs on nests which became young chickens. They saw the face of God in the sun and the rain, the attention necessary for the production and growth of plants and animals.  Life and its blessings are no longer important to children who spend most of their time in front of Satan’s idol, the Television set. The helplessness of our blessed Lord on a cruel cross means nothing to a nation that has cursed the most innocent of life and those who live productive committed lives.


When the unbelievers pass through the “valley of the shadow of death“, (Psalms 23) will they have any regrets about their life or the lives they have snuffed out?

Immune System




In traveling through Islamic countries, where the age of the population is extremely young (the average age in the 48 Islamic countries is 18) you can observe by their body language and their eyes, their hatred towards outsiders, people who are not their skin color, people who do not speak their language, people who they have been indoctrinated in their Mosque and reading materials to hate.

It has been a mystery to me why and how the suicide bombers, who have caused so much trauma and tragedy, in Israel, Iraq, Pakistan, and other places, could be so indoctrinated that they would kill themselves in an effort to kill others. In a long history of warfare, this is the first nation, the is the first time in world history, other than a few kamikaze pilots in WWII, that we have faced an enemy who did not, like us, want to live. We are told, after a suicide bombing with enough explosives to do the damage that is reportedly done, to kill the number that is reportedly killed, body parts are found for 10 miles around.

I heard a man discuss the procedure. One of my first trips through Afghanistan and Pakistan, I went through the Khyber Pass, which separates these two nations by a so called 'no mans land'. I remember going into a village where the famous Khyber Rifles are constructed. I will remember the attitude, the arrogance, and the insolence of these Muslim tribes. Most of these villains of debauchery, bombers, killers, all, so far, under 30 years of age, come from these Khyber tribes. Selected by their poverty, isolation, Islamic genetics, they are coached, brainwashed, intimidated and then after training and a daily infusion of drugs, are anxious to kill self for their eternal splendor with virgins in their heaven. By the time the 'caretaker' gets the bomber loaded down with his explosives and regalia, he is just anxious to die; to reap the benefits of his martyrdom.

Surely, there are smart Muslims who have a better system of warfare. It is my sincere belief that biological and other types of warfare are being experimented with all the time. The president of the communist party in the US, told me years ago, that this country could be 'burned down' overnight. He talked of cigarette lighters, bedspreads and draperies. It had all already been planned and when we hear of fires on the west coast or the east coast, my first thought is 'experimentation'. I firmly believe some of these 'salmonella' contaminations wherein millions of containers of food are taken off shelves, and warnings go out through the media about contamination (cantaloupes, spinach, peanuts etc.), I think experimentation. They certainly know, as we should know, that a warfare to which we are most vulnerable is that of biology or domestic conspiracy.

The immune system is a collection of biological processes within humans that protects against disease by identifying and killing pathogens and tumor cells. It detects a wide variety of agents, from viruses to parasitic worms, and needs to distinguish them from the body's own healthy cells and tissues in order to function properly. Detection is complicated as pathogens can evolve rapidly, producing adaptations that avoid the immune system and allow the pathogens to successfully infect a man.

If you think the virus in your computer is dastardly, a virus in your body can be tragic. We have lived in a country of antibiotics where from a very young age doctors have treated everything imaginable with antibiotics; and the immune system of everyone has been greatly compromised. It is becoming more and more difficult to treat anything. I believe our immune systems have been tremendously compromised by our low standards of sanitation. Four thousands children die in Africa every day because of diarrhea, traced to poor sanitation, more deaths than those from AIDS and malaria. One of the marvels of this blessed country is its beautiful natural rivers and underground water.

Stupidly, an educated and well financed public health system has allowed cities to dump their treated, raw sewage into these rivers. Other cities, extract water from these rivers to run through a system of poison treatments before piping it out to consumers. I am convinced that the toxins from these treatments combined with viral, microscopic disease molecules have so embodied and tripulated these water molecules that a tangential, peripheral, compromise of the immune system is a causative factor of many diseases that affect those that imbibe this water. As well as lowering the testosterone levels in males, it is not an accident that males have lost much of their masculinity.

If we, as a sophisticated nation, are so reckless with the most essential requirement of human life, water, will we be equally careless when one of these smart foreign terrorists concocts a virus or other contaminate, with which to bring us down by biological warfare? The terrorists have already discovered how careless we are, in protecting our drugs, foods and water supplies; essentials going into the human body for survival.

It does not take planes, tanks, cannons or guns to fight a war. The Civil War could have been won if the South, more patient than the North, had just pulled back, waited for the North to infiltrate and from behind hills and bushes could have been picked them off one by one. Can you even imagine, with today's travel, worldwide, the swiftness with which a contagion could move through the populous of any large city, where citizens have not been prepared for self preservation. The swine flu, much like the epidemic of 1918 which killed between 50-100 million worldwide, could easily be a terrorist strike. Think of the hopelessness of just one plane touching down in large airports all over the country, carrying a manufactured, conspired contaminate of a combination of bird and swine flu, with passengers passing through these ports, boarding planes going everywhere, (There is no better germ incubator than an airplane) just how rapidly an epidemic could spread.

I am convinced that we all have cancer, it is just a matter of your individual immune system being able to fight it off. Overburdened immune systems need to be revitalized. Next to our relationship with our Savior, should be our intense care for our good health and the most important character of good health is a performing immune system.

Gay Times




In my lifetime, I have seen sexuality come completely out of the closet. It is hard to listen to one news report without hearing long, insensitive declarations about same sex marriage, homosexual activity or heterosexual trapeze acts of some sort.

In high school, I never heard the word homosexual; and I was a very well read young person. At the university, my first introduction to homosexual perversion of any sort came from students who would talk about certain professors. It was all strange to me; I think every young person is in a state of confusion about sexuality because in the Christian home, like drunkenness and other sins, it is just not discussed.

People of class and quality do not become puppets of the news media in trying to entertain one another with tales of torrid behavior. I worked very hard for every dollar and had worked hard for a new pair of brown and white saddle oxfords. I threw away a perfectly good pair of shoes because I heard one of my more affluent and worldly dorm residents say to others who would listen in a “bull session”, “Only 'queers' wear saddle oxfords.” This was my first reality torrent in trying to please other people and gain their acceptance. Young men, like older men, do what they do because they believe what they believe; from a genetic background of the need for acceptance, we mere mortals spend our entire lives attempting to please creatures instead of our creator.

One of the saddest experiences of my life happened with a cousin who I knew was probably gay, even though in appearance, attitude and accomplishments one would never suspect. After college, he became an Air Force officer, then a music graduate student and one of the country's greatest church organists in a large Manhattan church. He had visited me in my home in New York City, even though I never knew him as a young person. Shortly before he died of AIDS, he came to my house on the beach and spent several hours talking to me about his condition and his life. Like most homosexuals, he had lived a life of identity confusion; trying to hold on to God with one hand and Satan with the other. Although of high income accomplishment, he had lost most of his wealth (including his inheritance) by “high living” and “fair weather friends” who because they didn't have money of their own, were glad to spend his.

So with certain death facing him (he lived 2 months after that encounter) he was receiving treatment at a VA facility and died. His sister, his only survivor, called me later and asked, “Where were all the people who had so loved him when he was well and spending money on them?” She said, “There were only 2 people at his funeral service; one cousin and me.”

My cousin, like so many gay males with whom I have talked, never spoke of his father. I have never known a gay male who had a relationship with his father, most only talk of their mothers. I have never known a lesbian female who had a relationship with her mother, she only talks of her father. It is essential, that a son bond with his father. It is essential, that the father share his male interests and experiences with his son. Since most fathers are abrupt and demanding, much less sensitive than the mother, a male child will retreat to the mother unless the father realizes the importance of 'maleness' in a sons life. In primitive cultures, people who do not have psychologists and sociologists advising them on their standards and life activities, I noted that there was always 'maleness' in the camp.

Separate male activity from the female interests that went on with the girls surrounding their mother. The male genetic hunter defending responses must be encouraged by a loving father. Male athletic activities must be encouraged by a loving father. A loving father will not allow his son to be involved in pre-Kindergarten activities where 'girl things' and 'male things' are all mixed together. I understand, that in daycare facilities, unlike it was at one time, boy and girl toys are all mixed; that the boys are encouraged to play with dolls, the girls with trucks. Such early exposure as this is the beginning of the sexual woes of your children.

In spite of the sabotage visited on 'maleness' in childhood and youth, many boys, in spite of molestation, a feminine curriculum, (pursued largely by a predominance of female school teachers) develop as young men.

I assisted the psychiatric department in the Army Hospital (at the WAC Center of the Army). I have never recovered from learning the number of women who were sexually abused as children. 85% of all lesbians were sexually abused as children. Sexual abuse in males is usually a determining factor in their identity crisis. We all know the curiosity, the embarrassment, the sensitivity, in our initial introduction to sex. Even in medical school, most of us were too embarrassed, too sensitive, to even discuss the subjects of homosexuality, perverted sex, or abortion. As young men, most of us would go to a male pharmacist at the drug store for the purchase of contraceptives. Like the pastor, the family doctor hesitated to even talk about sex with anyone. Now, young children are indoctrinated with the condom and cucumber, the morality of abortion, and same sex marriage on every news commentary as well as the classroom. Sex has become more commonplace than the school dance. Like the police officer patrolling the halls replacing prayers and patriotism in the classrooms, schisms of liberal pornography have replaced the solace of scholastic achievement.

Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, buffeted by psychologist associations (APA), promote 'corrective surgery' and 'sex change' instead of Christian counseling and sex satisfaction. For young people distressed into thinking they have the wrong body, the God who made them what they are is ready to guide in the right direction. Instead of distorted surgery reconciling to a distorted mind, extremely expensive, never ending in its questionable results, the end of distortion found in disclosing the truth should be the goal of everyone concerned; parent, pastor, physician, psychologist.

We live at a time, when we expect surgery or a prescription to correct everything. The mind, like the body, has the remarkable ability to heal itself. Throwing gasoline onto a fire in a building, is no way to save it.

The grace of God is sufficient for all our needs. The most marvelous words you will ever read concerning your development and your life are found in Psalm 139. There is nothing in the human genome (23,000 genes) that is ambiguous about your sex. Some have tried to attribute sexual confusion to God's genetic mistake. This problem is adaptation, not genetics; and God, who designed you, who named you, before the foundation of the world, did not intend for you to be confused in your sexuality. Whether a doctor, lawyer, teacher, preacher, Indian chief, all have had confusion with sexuality. Always remember, “And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” (John 8:29)

In talking with young gay males, I have been surprised at the number who had experienced the call to the ministry. The Christian church, for many years, like so many human activities, (homosexuality, disability, alcoholism) have not just turned the other cheek but have turned their backs to those in greatest need. Just as long as you are well dressed, well controlled, walk the aisle and sign the card, normal people were acceptable to God's Kingdom. The homosexual community, knowing the hypocrisy of the redemption in Christian churches, sought refuge in churches with their own kind (Metropolitan Community Church) now found in every city in the country; where gay people come together with 'Christian credibility' to have their worship service and venture forth to do good works in the community. This may be entirely different from the church started in Acts second chapter until the present day churches featuring TV Evangelists, healing absurdities, 'feel good' entertainment, but the drama and drums, bells and smells, of the 20th Century churches like 20th Century parenting, evidently, did not meet the needs of many “unaborted” children seeking an 'abundant life' (John 10:10) and the crucial care afforded all citizens.

Of particular significance, even to that early Corinthian church, found on an isthmus of Greece, a sinful metropolitan area of trouble to Paul, we find him saying that homosexuals, like adulterers, can be forgiven. “Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor 6:9-11)

Billy Graham, famed evangelist, one who knows the frailties of humanity said, “Don't take credit for your failure to fall into the temptations that have overtaken others.” Today, more so than even 20 years ago, there are many reputable, credible resources you can go to for help. Most pastors, most parents, are afraid to even broach the subject, and many so-called specialists in this area know nothing about it. Our blessed Lord knew about gay activity and other sexual activity, abortion and other sins, before they ever happened. He shed his precious blood on Calvary's cross for all these sins and stands ready to forgive and forget. Don't make things worse than they already are with sex change surgery. The proffering of gay clubs and gay churches, the stench in the very nostrils of God by pretending that a same sex union is marriage, the enigmatic scourge of every ethos pretending to be acceptable.
