Alone

Sir Isaac Newton, who laid the foundation for the laws of motion and mathematics said, “If anyone considers me tall it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants.”

In the activities of your life, whether you have kept your head in a book, your eyes focused in a microscope or telescope or many of the other vocations-interests with which people excel. Your interest and accomplishments fall largely on those who went before you. I have never known anyone who purposely snapped the umbilical of gestation staying in touch. Remembering our origins. On around the world trips, I always had a short wave radio so I could tune into familiar voices in a familiar country. I suppose this is the reason I love BBC, wherever you go in the world you can hear this station, SUCH KEEPS ONE GROUNDED.

I have admiration for early explorers, leaving everything behind, very much ALONE. Columbus, Magellan, other ocean explorers on their ships. Probably previously, not so far from land that they could return at night or in case of a storm. Think of the anxiety of setting sail into the unknown. Nights and days into the uncertainty of a big ocean.

Think of the anxiety of Charles Lindberg, that small plane heading across a great ocean. As a school student visiting the Smithsonian, I was amazed at the smallness of the plane.

Think of the early astronauts, some ALONE in a space vehicle. Flight and fight is not for the faint-hearted.

Think of the disabled (blind, deaf, crippled, etc.), not being able to see what others see, hear what others hear, do what others do. No one understands your plight. The most frustrating thing in the world, a blind person alone in a strange bathroom in a public restaurant.

Think of the unborn child, knowing only the safety of the sanctuary of the mother's womb. The love of Creator God to every new life. Think of the terrorism to this child of forceps or chemical solutions taking life.

Think of the mental anguish of the very gifted person with a very gifted mind, the equal anguish of the mentally debilitated mind attempting to live, thrive, accommodate to normal people in a normal environment.

Think of the mental, physical dilemma of “just not fitting in” There are many of us who do not have the same desires and abilities as those in our society or culture, even family and friends. We do not fit in because our talents and time are spent in areas and interests which they do not understand. We become “loners” because we will not submit to their expectations. Our goals, egotism, even sexual progress is different from theirs. We consider life, sex as clean. We get no joy from pornography, dirty jokes, lowering standards of behavior. We do what we do because we believe what we believe. It may come as a surprise to some that there were people in ancient Rome who did not get a thrill seeing Lions tear Christians limb from limb, or a more modern “sport” seeing bulls kill in a bull ring. There are those who have better things to do with their time whose minds function on a higher level.

Think, there are those who get no thrill from the “sport” of watching young healthy millionaires challenge one another on the ball field. Think, there are those who get no thrill going into the woods with a powerful weapon to kill small or large innocent animals, watching fast cars always turning left going round and round a track, beautiful horses or dogs forcefully raced around a track. It is one thing to hunt for food even though meat is the worst thing you can put into your body... at most, because of the nutrition involved once a month.

I have traveled the world, eight round the world trips, every continent. It is not necessary to go to a third world county to find tyrants and dictators. Focus on the fact that they are all around you, particularly in legislative halls. They want to control-enslave you. Focus on this, you own nothing anymore. With the present system of taxation, licensing for everything. (farmers now must get a commercial license to drive a farm vehicle) CDL))

The government knows more about your business than you do. You and you alone must learn to stand against totalitarianism. Any day, any where, for one or many reasons you may find yourself alone, standing before a God of justice

let them sing before the LORD,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity. (Psalm 98:9)

Alone, you will face your Creator. There will not be a slick lawyer, a faithful mother or concerned friends. The most vital truth of human existence, learning to trust God, ALONE.
