May Day

Heaven and earth will fade

But His word will still remain

He will do something new today

May 1, 2012, All over the world, Mayday. Of particular significance in communist countries.

A lifetime ago, when I had sight, I stood with the Cuban Communist delegation in Red Square, Kremlin, Moscow. I could see the politburo and communist “big wheels” from around the world standing atop Lenin’s tomb. Row after row, marchers, all dressed in the same uniforms, both male and female, many carrying huge banners proclaiming the glory of Marxism. In the gigantic parade was military might which communism wanted to show off to the world. To the uninitiated, everything is obscure. Most of these human beings did not realize their total and absolute slavery to a satanic political culture which is the antithesis of everything mankind should believe. Paul’s words to the Ephesians came to me very clearly”: we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

(Ephesians 6:12).

I had traveled through Russia on the Trans

Siberian Railroad seeing chained prisoners with the horrors of Siberia as their destiny. This writer has moved around most cities of the world, thrilled to the scene of church steeples, resounding bells. There was nothing like that in Russia. The old cathedrals such as St. Isaacs were museums.

On another around the world trip, I was invited to watch the May Day Parade in Luan Batur, Outer Mongolia. This aged veteran was subjected to five checkpoints before being moved to the parade route where I was moved from place to place so that television cameras could show an American visitor to their parade. Again, long lines of parading slaves, banners, military equipment.

I was one of the first Americans into Communist China after Nixon in 1973. The horror story of communism is best displayed in Communist China, communes where each person lived according to the dictates of the master. Children, those that survived abortion, go immediately into government controlled facilities…just chattel. With the one child limitation, most girl babies are strangled at birth. My Chinese guide told me that his sister had given birth to two girl babies. The father of the babies had strangled both of them at birth because he wanted a boy. A male is so essential to the Chinese family because of support in their old age…and to carry on the family name. Today, there is such an excess of males, compared to females in China…surging testosterone leading males to flee the country or procure a wife from somewhere. Americans and Europeans have found it to be a large business in the adoption of Chinese children, particularly girls.

Years ago, I stood on the island of Macao, just imagined what was going on across the strait in that communist country, never thinking that I would travel there three times and actually see what happens when ABSOLUTE godlessness takes over a nation. In other articles I have written at length about China. Standing in Tiananmen Square near the Forbidden City, watching a May Day parade, I knew what God was thinking when he said to Joshua, another name for Jesus, many centuries before. “ Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

Centuries later, looking around America and her allies, I want to send out the distress signal “mayday, mayday, mayday” ! This international distress signal, used the world over, for those in ships, planes, and otherwise in imminent danger.

Many have asked the question I have asked myself, “Why did God want me to travel the entire world?”….a blind man, one with no significant exhortation or authority. I have certainly learned that very few people, particularly politicians, preachers, professors care about my sensibilities. God has always used the common man, not beaurocrats. The lost of the world (those who do not believe in God or his son Jesus Christ) have an illusion that man can solve his own problems. One of Martin Luther’s last sermons, 1427, warned the religious world of not depending on the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The church has stood by, doing nothing, saying little, as the world has made a mockery of our Creator. The most precious thought of the human mind, that the creator God of the universe, the one who threw the stars into space wants to have a relationship with his chosen, not only during life on this Earth, but, for eternity…walking and talking with us. In the Garden of Eden, there was such a relationship between God and our forbearers, but a wall of separation by sin, by Satan, has separated God from man. The greatest event in the history of the world, the cross, a breakdown of the barrier (veil of the temple torn top to bottom) has enabled man to again have a marvelous relationship with God. Paul taught us to be separated from the world, that like a barrel of apples, a few rotten ones would consume the entire barrel with rottenness. Satan cleverly penetrated God’s church with tares (those on the farm have seen how the roots of weeds will strangle a good crop), making beggars of the church…begging people to worship, to give, to serve. Satan’s greatest triumph is keeping those who know about God from God’s book. Luther protested protestant reformation. A generation is about 25 years. Many generations have seen the decline of the church, the takeover of all the ideology of Communism. On this May Day, we send out a distress signal calling for new protesters.
