Direct Line To The Divine

#1741
 Who sinned?

As He went along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." John 9:1-3

"Extraordinary afflictions are not always the punishment of extraordinary sins--but sometimes the trial of extraordinary graces. Christ, who perfectly knew the secret springs of the divine counsels, told them two things concerning such calamities: that they are not always inflicted as punishments of sin--and that they are sometimes intended purely for the glory of God, and the manifesting of His works." Matthew Henry

"Afflictions are often the black foils in which God sets the jewels of His children's graces, to make them shine the better. There are some of your graces which would never be discovered, if it were not for your trials. Well, Christian, may not this account for the troubles through which you are passing? Is not the Lord bringing out your graces, and making them grow? Real growth in grace is the result of sanctified trials. The heart of a Christian is Christ's garden, and his graces are as so many sweet spices and flowers, when His Spirit blows upon them, to send forth a sweet savor." Charles Spurgeon

"Stars shine brightest in the darkest night. Afflictions ripen the saints' graces. Gold looks the brighter for scouring. Just so, afflictions are but our Father's goldsmiths who are working to add pearls to our crowns. Spices smell sweetest when pounded--and juniper smells sweeter in the fire." Thomas Brooks

"Some graces grow best in winter. Grace withers without adversity." Samuel Rutherford

"The lowly graces of the Spirit thrive best under crosses." Daniel Rowland

"The Lord's jewels need grinding, and cutting, and polishing." R.C. Chapman

"Grievous afflictions are not always sent as a scourge for sins committed--but sometimes as preventatives from sins. Paul's thorn prevented his pride." John Leland

There is no option, mortality rate is still 100%, everyone faces death. The eternal question, last breath here, first breath there AND what happens before clinical death?

The disabled is the nations largest minority. We have all seen the agenda of the gays, females, African American citizens. The feminine gender has been largely discounted ( promoting-pushing female equality in America, yet very content to see the enslavement of women in Islamic countries...selective abortion of female babies etc.) Add the gays and the blacks together and you will not have a number as large as the disabled. You never hear politicians, pastors, physicians, talk about or show much interest in the disabled. But, believe me, the disabled has a very special relationship with god...a direct line to the divine ( I speak as a totally blind, 100% disabled, service connected, medical officer army veteran.) I know the insolence of the Veterans Administration. The VA would like for all veterans to commit suicide. It is far easier-cheaper, to bury a veteran in a cheap tin coffin with a flag than to give him the care to which he is entitled. Governments do not mind conjuring entitlements for the non productive, but they have little interest in the producers. Even those who have given body parts to your country.

The bible has much to say about the disabled, particularly the blind-cripple-those desperately sick. Jesus broke up every funeral procession he ever met. His specialty, the blind and lepers. Of course, when Jesus nourished the ground around the sea of Galilee, there were no great research and treatment facilities. Doctors such as Dr. Luke were slaves. Think of the gratitude of those healed. You can understand why the crippled who laid by the temple begging (gate beautiful) for 40 years would not turn loose Peter and John when they healed him. I will never understand why so many Christians will not understand the healing power at our lords table "For I am the lord who healeath thee." (Exodus 15:26) Hundreds of years before the greatest sound in the world, the cry of a baby in Bethlehem. The profit Isaiah said that he would heal us (Isaiah 53:5). Peter, looking back, told us "By his stripes we were healed." (Peter 2:24) 21st century western medicine never heals, just treats. Big "pharma" wants everyone on several pills: Every physician living on a big house on "pill hill." If you do not get enough exposure to disease, just in daily life, toxins-poisons injected into your body by small needles (about 14 vaccinations of a child before the age of kindergarten.) In the future, adults, if they are allowed to work and participate in society will be forced to undergo 140 vaccinations. At the very time when we need  to detoxify the body, we are taking into this marvelous body (gods greatest creation.) Every toxic item possible...plastics, GMO's, synthetics, etc. You are what you ingest, and most treat this magnificent body like a dumpster instead of a temple.

Look at a parking lot, vehicles driven by healthy people parked in handicapped spots. Check how many disabled people attend your church.  Check how the disabled particularly veterans are treated by the healthcare community. But the average normal person thinks that nothing bad will ever happen to them. One friend said to me, one time, that I enjoyed being a "victim." He has no idea what it is like to live alone as a totally blind man. Just the trials of daily life, getting dressed-food preparation, keeping your house so it does not look like a pig pen. Think of making a living as a blind or disabled person.

BUT Christ came to deliver all of us from the pig pen and I do believe he hears the cry of the disabled.

Just this week, I'm bothered with a recurring conjunctivitis (eye irritation.) These sightless eyes were irritated-itching, I no longer have a license to right a prescription for anything. A year or so ago an eye doctor in this town (Katherine Ochsner) had given me a prescription which had been supplied by the VA pharmacy. She knows that I am home bound, cancer and other things but I told her nurse (Missy) to have her call a local drugstore with a refill and I will have a taxi pick it up for me. She would not call the refill because she wanted me to go through all the stress of going to her office so she could bill me with an office visit. I told this to the nurse and the nurse had little enough respect for this fellow professional to hang up the phone on me. You see, if I had not given my eyes for her country, I might have made the big bucks too. This is just one of the things the disabled are up against, now and more so in the future.

When you see the disabled, whatever the cause, remember you or someone in your family may be there one day. "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." (1 Corinthians 10:12)

Throughout my long life, I have met wonderful people. Great and small, prominent and poor, strong and weak. US Senator, Dr. John East, was one of these men. His life in a wheelchair, even called a cripple on the floor of the US Senate. He said to me, "the disabled life is hardly worth living." He later killed himself. The greatest thrill of my life, my own death, when I will see again. "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." (Psalms 16:11)
