Prisoners

At the fall of the Wiemar Republic the beginning of the Third Reich under Adolf Hitler, like PBS, stopping religious broadcast on their tax-supported network, Mr. Hitler started his “cleansing” of the libraries with his book burning. The first book on his list was the 1908 biography of Helen Keller, (who is buried in the floor of the National Cathedral next to President Woodrow Wilson). He so despised disabled people and Ms. Keller was born both deaf and blind. Heaven alone will know how many people she inspired with her life. I feel this blind writer who shares Ms. Keller's thoughts on being a “prisoner of isolation” could best describe what prison life is like to those who will never comprehend. In this age of deception, when most “normal” people have lost all sense of values, I am told that prisoners (we have two million in prisons USA) perceive deception quickly because their very life depends on not being deceived by one another. Hitler put to death two hundred seventy-five thousand disabled German citizens simply because, like today's evolutionists, he considered them of no value to the state.

God's word tells us that when Paul and Silas, beaten and starved, were put in the stocks in the very dungeon of the prison at Philippi, at midnight, in the worst situation the human mind can imagine, they began to sing hymns and the scripture tells us that, “THE PRISONERS LISTENED.” Only those who have known the fellowship of His sufferings (Philippians 3:10) can know the joy of His redemption.

It never ceases to amaze this writer of the insanity which people do believe. For instance, in the Iran debacle spread across each news broadcast, including the tragic death of Neta, a top Iranian official said the demonstrations and deaths were due to “foreigners.” I saw the dire situation in Zimbabwe in 1984, when I was there, the ruthless tyranny of Robert Megave. A friend of mine, with the CIA, calling me from Harare told me that one could not imagine the starvation and killing going on there. Yet, on the BBC this week, I heard Morgan Tsvangirai, in London, after this dictators have ruined the county now trying to get British money for the country. Cecil Rhodes must have turned in his grave. (Zimbabwe once called “Rhodesia” named for roads.) At a cathedral in London, Morgan Tsvangirai told those who had escaped the country because of their starvation and killing to please return. I understand the people almost lynched him in the cathedral.

In Australia, corruption in government has so permeated everywhere, even “Down Under” that we have this fiasco on the Internet. In the Indian Ocean, the pirating has reached the place that the insurance companies are charging thousands of dollars for each ship, when it would be easy to end the pirating with a few bullets.

In Italy, two Japanese were found leaving, probably associated with the Sicilian Mafia, transporting $134 billion in US bonds. Beyond all comprehension, two weeks later, the US government is still trying to decide if they are fake. If the bonds are fake, from where did the originals come to make copies?

The incredulous commentaries of such events are promoted by the “lap-dog” news media of the present administration. The academics, intelligentsia, elected politicians (puppets and perverts) who seem to have no moral compass at all and the hardworking, tax-paying citizens are expected to accept the new practices of “making more debt to get out of debt”, bailing out corporate structures, etc. making more debt to get them out of debt. Believing that government agencies such as the Post Office, Social Services, Veteran's Administration, bankrupt Medicare and Medicaid should serve as examples for the health care for the nation, a system which takes up 20% of the GNP.

The decadents of the mainline denominations, Catholics and Southern Baptists, the indifference of religion in general is an embarrassment to real Christians and must be a stench in the nostrils of our blessed Lord. Imagine honoring the most anti-life, pro-abortion, president with honors at Notre Dame University and at the Southern Baptist Convention, meeting in Louisville, Kentucky celebrating the 150th anniversary of their oldest seminary.

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” (1 John 3:4) Every problem of this country, even before Obama, can be traced to one small word, “SIN”. In high school and onto this very moment of my life, there have been two three letter words which bring on the best and worst of human reactions, “sin” and “sex”. I did not have to be real smart, to learn early in life, that if anyone brought up a subject involving sex, everyone was entertained and paid close attention. But if you want to break up a meeting of any type, start talking about sin.

“They feed on the sins of My people and relish their wickedness. “ (Hosea 4:8) The population has become prisoners of sin because those in government, the opinion-molders of the country, relish in sin and lawlessness. Satan has entered every home, every place of business, via the television and computer. It is difficult to go to an automotive repair shop, a restaurant, anywhere, without being tormented by the slop (liquid garbage) on the television screen.

Statistics may lie, but figures do not lie. 95% of all prisoners are men and 83% of these men came from homes without fathers. 37% of all children born in the USA are in homes without fathers. In New York, 50% of all children are in homes without fathers. Over 50% of all suicides are people who come from homes without fathers.

“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?” (Matthew 23:33) Christian antagonists often refer to fundamentalists as “snake handlers” or those who walk on snakes. In Christ's own words, we are told about snakes. Like Christ, learn early about those around you who are the snakes of your existence. The first woman, Eve, and her “hen-pecked” husband Adam were beguiled by snakes.

Faith is not faith until there's nothing left to hold onto. (Romans 3:3) “For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true.”

“We know that we have come to know him if we obey His commands. The man who says, 'I know Him,' but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (I John 2:3-4)

“The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” (I John 2:17)

Four years ago, a TWA plane went down near the New York harbor. $36 million later with 95% of the plane recovered, government officials say they still do not know why the plane went down. But since they did not find the exact cause of the death of this plane load of citizens it is a blessing in disguise because it might help save some other citizens. Tell that to the 228 who went down last week, further down in the Atlantic. So far, 77 bodies have been recovered and, amid the cover up, the suspected interior blast which caused the pilot to make a large circle trying to return to land has many of these same characteristics of the TWA flight. We love the bad news of deception but, heathen-like, the “good news” of gospel redemption is ridiculed “For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.” (Proverbs 1:32)

The greatest prisoners I know anything about are not those locked up for their and our safety, not the prisoners of disabilities such as blindness, not the prisoners of ignorance and poverty but the greatest prisoners I know are those who know the truth and pay little attention to it. (James 4:17)

No one can doubt that we are living in an age of deception. The senator who made a prostitute out of his friend's wife (raised her pay while working for him from $2,000 to $4,000 a month), those caught for paying large sums of money for female arousal, such as two from New York, think they are the first to deceive. Can you imagine the fellow disciples of Judas saying, “We thought he was such a good guy and he even deceived our Lord.” “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (I John 1:8) We have all been deceived and probably, all of us have deceived. I'm sure I felt deceived when my first wife moved all my “stuff” out of my house. I'm surprised she didn't take the doors off the hinges but, she probably felt deceived because I was not able to provide more stuff. I contracted for a painter to paint a house, and the paint all came off. I will never forget, my parents still living in our family home, Daddy with a stroke, Mother with cancer, and a traveling deceiver contracted to paint the top of a tenant house on the farm and they sat on the front porch and watched the “paint” wash off at the first rainfall. If I were an atheist, I would still have to believe that there is a judgment (other than that provided by crooked lawyers and judges) whereby deceivers and deception must be in some way punished. James, the brother of our Lord, said, “Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:16-17) There has never been a time in history with so much deception and corruption. In government, the market place, even the church. Don't become a prisoner of deception and strive everyday with supplication not to deceive. (Titus 3:3)
